Went there to eat once and ordered twice online. Food was ready upon collection on both occasions. However, it is abit challenging to make payment online (payanyone or PayLah!) especially when you are using mobile phone to order. Pls consider having debit or credit card as a payment option. Food wise…. 😋😋 chili crab, sweet and sour pork ribs, prawn paste chicken, mee goreng (weekdays only) 👎 HORFUN I prefer their mee goreng over the birthday noodles. Consider putting mee goreng in your weekend menu! Portion: The birthday noodles (medium size) can probably feed 5-6 pax.

Food are good 👍 especially the chilli 🦀, pepper 🦀, drunken prawns, hotplate tofu and prawn paste chicken. Their service are terrible especially the tall China lady that I have ordered from her, she is rude. Ask her thing n she like not happy to answer u. I will give 👍 👍👍👍👍to the food & not their service.

To be very honest, as a Tze Char & hawker food enthusiast, their food wasn't that satisfying. Their dishes tasted very normal for their heavy prices, and I don't see myself returning to this Tze Char place again. Their claypot dishes were not flavourful, their pork was just not nice, their pork liver wasn't very soft, and their vegetables were also very normal

EDIT: Back again 4 months later, just as good ♥️ A recommendation from an old uncle Grab driver. We drove 36 minutes to get here to give it a try... Anyone who doesn't give this 5 stars is kidding themselves! Yeh the decor is very simple and cheap. Yeah the service is not attentive (standard in Singapore). But damn the food is good and fairly priced. Fried chicken wings, kway teow, pea sprouts, black pepper crab and dry salt & pepper crab, pipis, washed down with a few $6 large long neck Tiger beers... WHAT A PLACE! Only thing we didn't love was drunken prawns but I think that's a preference thing.

Value value value. The main reasons to visit will be value and the nostalgia vibes (90s). The food was above average but we did not order crab and live fish which seems to be their popular dishes.

This is a popular Zhou Chow 🇸🇬 Chinese restaurant in Upper Thompson. I think the cooking standard has dropped, but it's still ok. There are some dishes are good and some are ok or below average. We ordered 3 different flavours 😁 of the 🦀. The 🌶 🦀 was average, the salt and pepper was hopeless and the black pepper 🦀 was the best choice. Every one has different taste standard, so you can check it out and see for yourself. 😊 eating 🇸🇬 Chinese food 😋

Didn't order much as just 2 pax eating... the pepper crab was heavenly n almost every table was eating a crab dish! The ngoh nuong was excellent and so was kailan vegetables. Surprisingly good food! Shall be back soon

The crispy chicken, tofu, and fish at the shop were all well cooked and tasted good. The crispy coating on the chicken and fish was crunchy and flavorful, and the tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Each dish had its own unique flavor and was well-seasoned, making for a delicious and satisfying meal. The quality of the ingredients was evident in the taste, and everything was cooked to a good standard. Overall, it was a good choice to have a meal in this shop.

This is to save all you steamed fish lovers out there. We ordered “hongkong steam” style steamed fish. When it came out this is what it looked like. Knowing that she made a mistake I asked her and she said that this is indeed “hongkong style” steamed fish. I showed her other reviews of this restaurant’s “hk style” steamed fish where it was the usual soya sauce style with ginger and herbs on top and she said that style was “soya sauce” steam style which was another cooking method on the menu!? Very misleading Don’t know whether she was taking us for a ride and was trying to cover up her mistake but be warned. Clarify with her when ordering.

Haven't visited this place for ages and decided to visit here for a CNY meal with friends. Called to make a reservation for dinner was told they only accept bookings for more than 8 persons, so had to be there earlier to wait for tables. Didn't like the way they kept rushing us to order because they wanted the table for other customers, when we were waiting for friends to arrive. Food wise the portion was pretty good. They recommended us to order small for 4 persons so we had more budget for more dishes. The food still tastes pretty good after so many years, though it took quite some time for the food to arrive. Was an enjoyable meal and the yusheng was also cheaper than expected. The entire bill was also affordable and well worth for the number of dishes we ordered. Will definitely visit again.

Chanced upon this place after a hike at upper peirce. This stall gives old school vibes, resembling Malaysia a little. Lots of people were eating crab here and it's easy to see why with their prices. The prices are pretty reasonable and the food portion is generous. I really like the oyster omelette here, which has delightfully generous servings of oyster coated with egg and a mystery sauce that goes together so well. Yam ring was okay, would give that a miss next time simply based on the virtue that there are so many better things here to fill my stomach with. Will come back again for the oyster omelette and crab!

There wasn't any crowd on a Sunday afternoon. The prawn paste pasta chicken was crispy and well marinated. The simple dish of dou miau stir fried with garlic tasted good. Hot plate bean curd served with prawns was done differently from the usual one in other zhi char stall that is cooked in brown beans paste sauce. Over here, the egg toufu is drench with sauce that is normally served with chilli crab. But my family enjoyed it nonetheless. Just to note the difference. The steamed sea bass was fresh and cooked just nice. A decent size worth it $32 price for a family of four. The drunken prawns was served in a claypot filled with tang hoon and herbal soup. Importantly the prawns were of reasonable sizes and fresh. Together with 3 drinks, we spent $92 for a good lunch worth coming back.

A very nice restaurant to enjoy seafood and much more. The venison meat is extremely tender and one of my favourites there. The black pepper and butter crab is extremely delicious and meaty as well. The prawn paste chicken is juicy and flavourful. The steamed fish is super tender. Would highly recommend this place if you enjoy seafood. Service was fast. My only complaint is the toilet which is a little bit dirty. But food wise, this is a very good place👍🏻

First time trying the food since they have received good reviews. Despite not booking a seat, their staff was fast in allocating us one. The place was very crowded and noisy on a Saturday night but overall still feels windy, thanks to the big ceiling fans. For food wise, the Assam fish, baby squid were good. As for the hotplate toufu, I felt that it’s nothing to shout about and can give it a miss. Saw many tables ordered their crab but we never order this round. Perhaps the next time.

Delicious foods. Price is reasonable and portion is big. Some foods are quite unique such as drunken prawns and fried oysters with egg. Lala also quite fresh. Greate place for gathering with friends and family. Dine in at lunch time to avoid the crowded dinner time.

Lala changed to a smaller kind no longer juicy and meaty Chill crab sauce not as good and crab not meaty and sweet Think maybe changed chef or used cheaper alternative. Feed back to them was told always the same 😅 lady boss not so honest to regular customer😑

Been a while since I’ve dined here but so glad it’s as good as ever! They produce solid zhi char dishes, nothing too fancy but tastes so good! Not too heavy on the MSG either. 😂 I also like how the staff and even the “managers/bosses” are friendly and polite despite being so busy.

We arrived there around 5.30 pm before it’s getting crowded. The staff is very helpful and offers us promotion of the day which is fish. All seafoods are super fresh. We love the black pepper crab, it’s fresh, tasty and flavorful with touch of spice. We ate it with Fried Bun which is really good to eat with Chili Crab sauce. The Salted Fish Fried Rice is surprisingly delicious. The portion of 2 people can be shared upto 4 people. The price is reasonable and really worth for money.

One of my family’s favorite Tze char store in AMK-Thomson area. Food never disappoint here. We had soon hock fish, chilli crab, mee sua & assorted dishes. Can be packed & parking is limited during dinner time. Good to call & reserve table. Staff can be overwhelmed with numerous orders but are always ready to serve when called upon. Worth the visit.

I ordered har cheong gai, omelette and sweet sour pork ribs. All turned out delicious! Service is also very fast. Almost all tables ordered chili crab, so will be back for that next time. The only minus is they charge tax on top, which is unusual.

Hor fun is terrible. One of the worse I had, hor fun came cold. Can tell the hor fun they cook very long ago, no wok hei at all. Hotplate tofu nothing special. Spare ribs came cold too. Definitely not coming back again.

Ordered the black pepper crab, prawn paste chicken, hotplate tofu, etc The sauce of the black pepper crab was immense and thick. Rich in flavor. Prawn paste chicken was not bad. Crispy and nice. Hotplate tofu was a little disappointing as there wasn’t any egg as the base. They don’t out eggs. We did ordered the prawn balls but they took extremely long to come… I guess they forgot the order. We cancelled it in the end. Overall, service can be improved. Food wise, quite ok but I expected better as this is quite a famous stall here.

Pricey, yucky food... I never order any crab so maybe just the crabs are nice. I don't understand why so many people like this place. I can easily find nicer tze char place than this. Prawns super overcooked!! Fish head meat kinda hard, overcooked also I guess. Salty hot plate venison. The best is the most normal spinach with garlic... Next time if I ever visit again is most probably if I want to eat the crabs. Another thing to add, long waiting time!!

Ordered a Chilli crab takeaway. Fresh crab, cooked just right with a slightly spicy creamy eggy sauce, dipped with mun tao. Excellent meal to end the day.

Been here a couple of times. I remember the chilli crab is not too bad, and has a reasonable price tag. This time since it’s just 2 of us, we ordered 3 dishes. Prawn paste chicken is excellent, claypot beancurd is ok and hot plate oyster is extremely value for money!

Fuss-free place to eat really good zi char food. The highlights were sweet and sour pork, har cheong gai(prawn paste chicken) and steamed grouper/sea bass. Har cheong gai was extremely delicious, served hot and was very crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Steamed fish was excellently done to perfection. The soup gravy was very nice and soothing too. Sweet and sour pork was quite tasty well.

Friendly staff. The place is also big so we can sit in a bit groups if 7 to 10 easily. Generous portion. The beef venison is probably our favorite.
