It's been almost 2 or 3 years ago since I last visited RUBATO. My memory of the food was really good. I was impressed with the chilled angel hair pasta, Hokkaido scallops sashimi, exotic japanese seaweed and premium white truffle oil. Last night, I tried an almost similar dish (new in the menu) but is served hot - Homemade Tagliolini Amalfitana in Dashi broth with Hokkaido Bafun Uni. The taste was good but I still think the chilled angel hair pasta is way better. Oysters were big and fleshy, but we were not given the right fork for this dish and given only Tabasco - disappointing. Luckily, I had my Prosecco to pair with the oysters which made it much better. The Lobster Cappucino was ok. We ordered the Classic Molten Chocolate Cake and was disappointment that we didn't see chocolate oozing out from the cake when we cut it. I believe the overall dining experience could have been much much better.

Used to be a place we'll go with family or colleagues every once in a while.. but COVID disrupted it. Finally we got back last evening, and found the experience still good but somehow different (maybe it's a different service crew). Nevertheless, the food was mostly good, really enjoyed the burrata pizza, but found the carbonara spaghetti no longer as good as before (it used to be my favorite in SG).

Food here is good and the serving sizes are slightly on the bigger side. Loved the pizza with the burrata and the wagyu beef is one of the most tender pieces of meat Iโ€™ve ever eaten. Loved that it came with roasted vegetables and potato wedges as well. The cold pasta with scallops are worth a try, but not something Iโ€™ll order again. For dessert, the molten lava cake hit the spot while the tiramisu wasnโ€™t anything memorable.

Nice food and good environment. Though we were sitting outdoor, the place was well ventilated so it was not hot. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Not sure what else I can say about this place except that it is exceptional. Food was simply delicious and scrumptious, especially the Angel hair pasta, clams and steak. The desserts were heavenly as well. We were served by Sherwin and his team, who took such good care of us! He gave us such good recommendations and told us the appropriate portion sizes, which was very much appreciated. We highly recommend coming back to this place! Kudos to the chefs, hosts and servers!

Every dish is flavorful and unique, crafted well to give you a true Italian experience. Some highlights of our meal are the burrata, fresh catch of the day and the dessert ๐Ÿ˜‹ . Grilled Wagyu beef is a generous thick-cut of tender and juicy meat ๐Ÿฅฉ , personally prefer thinner cut of wagyu though. The Star โญ๏ธ of the show is the dessert ๐Ÿจ : Crepes Suzette Flambรฉ, prepared right in front of you with a fire show and served hot. Itโ€™s so well done, the delicate crepes goes so well with the sweet-citrus sauce mixed Grand Marnier and the vanilla ice cream, it literally melted in your mouth ๐Ÿ˜. Love it ๐Ÿ’ฏ!

The appetizer dish was aptly named Gift from Angels as it was amazing โค๏ธ actually not a fan of uni but the scallop, truffle and angel hair pasta combi was ๐Ÿ˜ shout-out also goes to the burrata pizza as each component of the dish was executed perfectly. Will probably skip the steak dish as it's on the thicker side, although it was tender. Will be back to try the lobster cappuccino!

We happen to be in Greenwood area and decided to try this restaurant. Luckily it was early dinner hour and managed to have a table. We had a wonderful dinner, Wagyu beef was cooked perfectly and love the Crepe Suzette. We were treated excellent service too. Will definitely be back again.

We had a blast celebrating at Rubato with their fancy Vegetarian Italian Omakase! We told them we don't eat meat or seafood, and they whipped up a 6-course masterpiece just for us. All we had to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy the delicious Italian dishes they served up!

Went for my birthday dinner as my sister highly recommended, but it was quite disappointing First the service was not fantastic, we have a call them a few times before someone attended to us. Then the toilet was having some heavy cleaning for like almost the whole night and we got to use the next door toilet which was quite rundown. The food were not fantastic, out of so many dishes we ordered, only the cold pasta, squid ink ravioli and tuna pizza were the better one. The roasted cauliflower is lacking salt, the octopus leg was dry and miserable looking, for that price tag, we had better ones. The place is nice but I don't think I will go back.

Went for a dinner and really enjoyed the experience. Nice place, nice vibe, good service and the food we tried was also nice. For start we had a Burrata that is delicious and well served. For mains my wife go a Pancetta Gnocchi and I got the Prawns Gnocchi. Both were delicious and well served as well. Price is bit high but we will be back to try more options of the menu for sure.

One of my favourite go to Italian places in Singapore. Food is consistently good, portion is huge, and so generous with the ingredients! Have regular cravings for their grilled octopus appetiser because it is so tender, nicely seasoned, and has a nice char to it. The squid ink risotto was bursting with seafood, which justifies the slightly high price tag and makes it pretty worth it in my opinion. Generally, the price runs steep ($30-$45 on average for a pasta/pizza) but you will not be disappointed with the quality and the generous serving of the food served. I always end my meal feeling great ๐Ÿ˜Š Pretty accessible by car but not too bad by public transport either, just a short walk from the bus stop along the main road.

We just had the best dinner date at @rubatosg โค๏ธ! They are one of the oldest & most prestigious Italian restaurants in Singapore founded in 2009. Do you know they are available till 2am daily for deliveries via @grabfoodsg & for dine-in during weekends, eve of PH & PH? Among the dishes that we've tried in our 6 course Japanese-Italian Omakase, here's our top 3 picks! See till the end to salivate over what we enjoyed ๐Ÿ˜. ๐ŸŒŸ "A Gift from the Angels" You literally ๐Ÿคฏ when you take a mouth, it consist of Chilled Angel Hair Pasta, Hokkaido Scallops Sashimi, Exotic Japanese Seaweed, Premium White Truffle Oil And Freshly-caught Hokkaido Bafun Uni, the combination matches so well and they are really fresh! ๐ŸŒŸ Lobster Cappuccino & Mushroom Soup with Truffle The soups are so flavourful & rich but not cloying, we just slurp down the soup till the last drop, it's definitely one of the best we've ever tried. ๐ŸŒŸ Cod Fish The cod fish literally melts in the mouth, there wasn't much seasoning or sauce but you can taste the freshness of the fish in every bite! You can enjoy a Japanese-Italian Omakase between 6 - 9 courses starting from $128++. The chef will decide on the menu, you can inform them of your dietary preferences & they will customize the menu accordingly for you! They also have regular menu if you prefer to choose your own dishes. This restaurant is a perfect place for dates, gathering or celebrations. Recommended to make a reservation and enjoy the amazing dining experiences!

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience at RUBATO! Hazel and fellow servers were extremely warm and friendly. Their top-notch service made the dining experience even better! Only one thing I would have to point out is that the tomahawk steak came rare and had a peculiar flavor. Overall, it was still a good meal. I recommend the mushroom soup, seafood marinara pasta and tiramisu, which were amazing

One of the better Italian restaurants around in the west. Pricing is in the higher than average side. All the dishes we had were well done except for the clams in white wine sauce, way too salty. A must try is the cold angel hair parts with scallops and truffle - something not serve else where.

Scallop, Uni angel hair pasta was 10/10, worth the price. Octopus was 10/10 too, charred taste and sauce goes well together. Crab leg pasta was alright 7/10. Big and juicy oyster 8/10.

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in Rubato's lunch buffet, and it was truly a memorable experience. The restaurant provided impeccable service, and the buffet itself offered a delightful selection of Italian dishes. From the moment I walked in, the staff at Rubato made me feel welcome and ensured that I had everything I needed throughout the meal. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident. The lunch buffet at Rubato featured a wide variety of Italian classics, from fresh salads and antipasti to hearty pasta dishes and delectable desserts. The flavors were outstanding, and the buffet's diverse offerings catered to a range of tastes. It's a fantastic option for those looking to explore a variety of Italian flavors in one sitting. The only area where Rubato could improve was in the presentation of the main courses on the buffet. The plating of the meats and sauces at the start could be refined to make it easier for diners to identify and enjoy each dish. In summary, Rubato's lunch buffet offers an exceptional culinary journey through Italian cuisine, with outstanding service to match. It's a fantastic option for those seeking a wide array of flavors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With a little attention to plating, Rubato's lunch buffet could become an undisputed five-star gem in the world of Italian dining.

Food was so-so, but maybe cause I ordered pasta. I had the gnocchi, which was pretty much just the gnocchi when it came, kinda expected more based on the picture, maybe some garnishing but it was about only 18 pieces of gnocchi. It wasn't filling and cost me $30 for that 1 plate. Would not recommend this dish and it is not worth the price you're paying. Had the wild mushroom soup as well, which I expected it to have different types of mushroom in it, but it came with a few thin slices of truffles only, which again differs from the picture in the menu. For the price you're paying, I would expect the pictures to be closer than what I expected. Their service was not too bad, but since we had a party of 10, they put us outside and didn't bother to check on us too much. We had to walk in to get their attention and it wasn't that crowded on the day we visited, it was pretty quiet for a Sunday night. Otherwise the atmosphere was quite nice as it was in a quiet neighborhood.

โ€œSteaks are their highlightโ€ Iโ€™ve ordered from Rubato multiple times on Deliveroo but this is the first time eating at the restaurant (Christmas lunch). Their steaks are their highlight as it is very well done, good seasoning and char. The tomahawk does not disappoint. However, their beef Wellington was rather disappointing - somehow the pastry was a bit soggy and not crispy even on the outside, the meat itself was not well seasoned and the stuffing just wasnโ€™t tasty. The seafood platter was good (nothing amazing), ham and turkey were also decent. Overall, the steak remains the standout but the others are between 3.5-4โญ๏ธ.

We used to order in because the food was delicious Daniel invited us over to dine in and the whole experience was even better. We packed some leftover beef which still tasted very good the next day. The dishes recommended by Daniel was good. We will be back. Best tamahawk and Lobster cuppochino, Angel hair melts in our mouth.

Decided to go there for a quiet lunch. Missed their chilled angel hair pasta. Tried once and loved it so much. It's still so good, especially appetising on a hot afternoon. The portions are generous, and so we were quite full after our 3rd dishes. Our squid ink seafood risotto came last, and we were thinking how can we finish๐Ÿ˜‚. But it's so so good that we managed to finish it even though we couldn't finish the others๐Ÿ˜…. It's so well done they we gorged ourselves to finish it. They use real ingredients, no colourings. You can check no colourings left on the tongue. It's totally awesome. The friendly owner recommends that we come for their weekend brunch. Definitely will bring my family over for it.

We made a reservation for a Italian Fusion Omakase lunch feast to celebrate a special occasion today. Thank you my dear friend Sally for your recommendation and arrangement! Great experience! Amazing food and lovely staff. Shoutout to Sherwin, Hazelle, Jean, Chef Lung and Prabhu, these amazing people took special care of us. Thank you so much! Unlike others this restaurant is unique in many ways, the place is very comfortable and the food is awesome! Service was better than expected. Definitely recommended :)

Had an incredible experience celebrating my wife's birthday at this place. Opted for the 4-course Omakase set, recommended by the staff, which was a great value and allowed us to sample a variety of delicious dishes. For first-time visitors, we highly recommend this option as a "tasting menu" of the restaurant's offerings. Special thanks to Sahil, our server, who went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. :) Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience with great food, service, and atmosphere.

Authentic and delicious Italian cuisine! A hidden gem nestled in the neighbourhood of Bukit Timah. Loved the decor, ambience & music played throughout lunch. Service was excellent by all that served and interacted with us. The staff were very knowledgeable and gave wonderful recommendations for wines and food. The food was some of the best Iโ€™ve had! A wonderful gastronomic experience indeed! Highly recommended!

Spacious restaurant in a nice quiet (and expensive) neighborhood. Decent manual with varieties of different food. Mostly Italian but they also have burger and apple pie. Food tastes pretty good. They said they're usually packed on Friday and weekend but normal days walk in is fine. Think I'll go back there from time to time for a relaxing lunch or dinner .

  • 3/5 P T. 1 year ago on Google
Most of the time you don't need the reservation and can just walk in. Truffle fries were very good and our favorite starter. Tomahawk we ordered was chewy and cooked okay but other than that the food was pretty average. Oh, tiramisu was pretty good too.

  • 3/5 Sebastian L. 1 year ago on Google
Food was good, although a tad expensive. Had risotto, lobster cappuccino, beer and a cheese platter. Wife had a water, salad and mushroom soup. Cost us close to $200 inclusive of tax and service. For similar price, I am sure I can get better food and service at some other places. Service was slow as the restaurant was crowded. Do make a reservation during dining hours as it can be hard to get a table. For those who drive, parking is an issue. The service road is often packed and you may have to park along the private houses near Greendale.
