Haven’t came back to Jim Thompson for years now. My impression has always been that their food is quite authentic and delicious. Wasn’t let down. Came for dinner with friends and ordered quite a variety. Starters of Pandan chicken and satay was quite good. Traditional ones like pineapple rice and Tom yam soup can’t find fault. The crab omelette was a pleasant surprise, crispy enough and very salty egg (which I like). We had 3 different types of beef- satay, curry and a steak type. In general I would say their beef tends to be over cooked and on the dry side. Price wise, is definitely one of the premium ones in Singapore for Thai food. Service was good. All in all, I would say at least come visit once if you’ve not came before.

Great ambience that almost transports you out of Singapore. And we were also very appreciative of the great customer service. It thundered stormed towards the end of our meal and one of the service staff accompanied our group of 4 to the car with umbrellas. Thank you! The restaurant also has a high service staff-to-customer ratio, and there was almost always someone around to help despite the rather large space. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food. We were attracted to this restaurant for their wide range of meat and plant-based dishes but the ones we ordered tonight tasted like watered-down versions of authentic Thai cuisine.

My last visit was 9 years ago and I have been wanting to go back again. So this time had dinner. The deco and ambiance are not the typical Thai restaurants. This place has a posh and chill setting, so if you’re looking for a business or romantic dinner venue, this is it. Price slightly above the normal Thai and food was satisfactory and lack that punch (nothing beats those we ate in Thailand..) service was prompt and fast.

Awesome Thai food! What I loved about the place is that they have a separate vegetarian menu with many of dishes being vegan-friendly. We had a large variety of foods to pick from and we could pick the spicy level for most of the dishes. There is a pupu platter-type option for the starters which I recommend so that you can try quite a few of them. The drinks were well-made and refreshing. The ambience was also great with the high ceiling and the well-decorated interior.

Great restaurant with Thai service staff, delicious food, and resort-like atmosphere. Worth the trip and worth going back to. Food: The food was amazing and must be commended for its use of premium ingredients. The single portions are more than enough to be shared by 2 people. Food prices are spot on for this quality — people who expect "food cart on a sidewalk in Bangkok" prices will be disappointed. Drinks: Most drinks here are unbelievably expensive — $9 tea, $10 double espresso... might be a world record for most expensive double espresso. Service: Very good service, and the wait for food is very short.

The colonial setting is beautiful, the food is delicate and refined. The crab meat fried rice was made with fresh crab meat that can be clearly tasted. I especially enjoyed the desserts. These are what we commonly have - mango sticky rice and steamed tapioca - but exquisitely executed. This is one of those places where you would want to savor the flavors. Great experience.

Ordered quite alot of dishes and presentation is beautiful. Well portioned and serving was reasonable. Taste wise seems muted from usual Thai flavours. Could add more oomph and flavours. Service was attentive.

So sad to say good bye. Best Thai restaurant and favorite restaurant in Singapore. It is on par with some of the best Thai restaurants in Thailand. Thank you for the amazing food for many years.

Ordered a bunch of items and loved everything!! This place is a bit pricey but their elaborate food options and excellent service makes up for it. And they have a dedicated vegetarian menu, a big 👍 for that 😬 Special mention to the classic mango ice-cream. No one imagined it could be that tasty. Also the curry / gravy of their dishes are out of the world, have not got such amazing taste at many other Thai restaurants.

Oh I'm sooo tempted to give this place 4* simply for putting out the Xmas decorations so early. 2nd November folks! Still, food was soo good. Great variety on the menu and overall I'll be going again soon. Was a business lunch, so next time I'll take the GF and see if it's 'proper spicy'. But even though early, decorations were nice and well done so have the full five and see you again soon!!

The taste of the food is below average, yet super overpriced. Price of steamed sea bass is not stated on their menu, it costs $59++ for a farmed fish. Tom yam goong taste is just average. Fried platter Sukothai is not worth $38++, the items in the platter is of cheap ingredients and the portion doesn’t justify the price. I would expect their service standards to be much better. The staffs were not attentive, did not refill our water and do not ask for feedback. Two pax spending $180. I would give the food 2/5 stars. Ambience 4/5 stars. Service 2/5 stars. Value for money 1/5 stars.

What a fantastic restaurant. I went with family, and to our surprise, they have a lot of selection for vegetarians. Tom yum soup, Tofu based main course, papaya salad, everything was delicious. Above all staff here are lovely people, they take great care of their customers. Kudos!

Pricey but delicious Thai cuisine.. The chilli is toned way down to suit their clientele, a large proportion of westerners and 'atas' Singaporeans.. So, if you are used to, expecting, the usual kick of authentic Thai food, this isn't your oasis. But if you want really tasty but mild in a grand setting with nice service this would suit 👍

Service is very good but I feel this is 'watered-down' Thai food. Only one dish had the signature spice associated with Thai food. The place is very expensive for the flavors you get.

Very fancy Thai food I rate 4.4 stars. I mean, just look at the so-extra pyramid rice (heh heh). Food was solid though, and worth the price of the set lunch. I chose the spring rolls as appetizer, tom yum soup, soft shell crab as my main, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The soft shell crab and soup were stand outs for me. Spring rolls and mango sticky rice were good but not great. Very attentive wait staff.

The food is generally nice though pricy. I love the plate of Kang Kong and Tom Yam soup. I think the pineapple rice is normal. Was very surprise by the speed they served the food (almost the next moment) which make me wonder if the food were already prepared in advance (but how to do that for streamed fish?). What I dislike is that they kept coming to remove your “finished” dishes acting like trying to chase you away. Once they even tried to remove a plate which we still have some mango salad yet to be finished. Then when my friend stopped for awhile to talk, they came to ask if we still want the food which is irritating.

The ambience naturally attracts the ig crowd but the food is the reason we came for. All good, save for 2 dishes ; the scales on the steamed whole fish. Someone in the kitchen was careless. Then came the desserts & we rejected the sour mango. The replacement was very sweet.

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Probably it's better than the one in Bangkok. When it's sunny, you feel like you are in Thailand as well! The service is good with Thai standard. The food is a bit pricy but delicious. I like to go especially during the lunch time. Will visit again!

Went on a weekday lunch, ordered set lunch, comes with soup, appetiser, main, vegetable and rice, you can add $4 for dessert too! Foods are very delicious! Nice ambient, took a lot of nice photos. Will definitely come back again!

Have tried this place for special occasions. The ambience is very nice and being in Dempsey does add a different charm to the restaurant. Overall the service is effective, and the team is attentive. They also have a separate menu for vegetarians and we really liked the appetiser set. While the food has all the authentic flavours, the price is also up there.

Very nice ambience and friendly service. The food is quite authentic and portions are generous. We had chicken pandanas, green curry and soft shell crab curry with veggies - we also tried sticky mango rice for dessert. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend the crab. It is not a cheap restaurant but it is definitely worth the price.
