Restaurant

😐 Had Accorplus membership so got 50% off the total bill. If it were not for it, it would have been really painful to pay for the food here. Risotto was bland.. meat just tasted like it was from a $20 astons/isteak. Generally bland, average food and very pricey. Went there to celebrate my mom’s birthd... People often mention good, service, staff, Racines, restaurant, nice, tasted, buffet, lunch, great,

The Hokkaido scallop amuse bouche was pretty good. The lobster bisque was ordinary, while the ginseng chicken was tasty. The wagyu beef was soft but not fork tender, which was good as it was had bite and was not overly mushy. The truffled mash was tasty but the seasonal vegetable (artichoke) tasted a little odd. Or, at least, I have not tasted artichoke this way before. Dessert of chocolate tart and Vanilla ice cream was okay, as was the service. The views were pretty good.

Extremely disappointed with the Chinese food that the hotel provided as a package. It was probably cook by an amateur chef in the kitchen. The kids meal fish and chips was puny, oily and deep fried with some frozen fish and it cost $17 bucks. To be honest, if this is what you called hotel standard, then I really don't know what to say. Would probably never stay here with their dinner package.

Enjoyed the 4 course meal ($68++). Had the foie gras, soups (fish maw was generous, the chestnut one tasted interesting), Angus beef was good and the cod is melt in your mouth and flavourful, both desserts (hazelnut financier and apple crumble) were good but a bit too sweet. Overall enjoyed it! Good service, lovely place and view.

I have been to Racines a few times. Previous experiences were great but sadly, today could be the last time I will ever dine in Racines again. The variety & standard of food has dropped tremendously. Even at a 50% discount (as an Accor Plus member), its not worth it at all. The cold seafood section was almost empty when I arrived. I heard a few customers asking about the oysters (because it has not been replenished for a long time) and the service staff just told them they will inform the kitchen. So, I waited... & waited... & waited... After an hour, there's still no sight of the oysters or cold seafood... I went up to them to enquire & was told the same thing... Well... at 3.30pm when the restaurant was closing, I knew that we, the customers have been lied to / cheated. When I was making payment, a manager apologised for the delay of the food (a 2nd lie). There was no delay because the food didn't even come! (You don't apologise to your boss for being late when you didn't even turn up for the meeting right?) How can being delayed/late be the same as MIA? I don't know if that's a joke or to them, customers are fools. They just lie straight to your face! I feel very very disrespected. As an Accor member for so many years, I was disappointed. I am fine if they are honest & tell me that seafood will not be replenished again or its OOS or they cannot afford to replenish... But lying to customers.... I cannot accept. Service is ok... but the lie kills it. All those "good service" seems fake now. How sincere can a liar be anyway? And its the 1st time I left a buffet feeling unsatisfied (Yes, Its that bad!) Even w/o the cold seafood, the other dishes were mediocre. The best food there for me is the cheese (which a lot of buffets have). But even so, the crackers to go with the cheese were not replenished as well... I am not sure what happened to them but I'll definitely not recommend Racines to anyone and don't think I'll continue my Accor plus membership if that's the kind of restaurants they have.

Went for the Sunday international brunch buffet. The selection was smaller than expected and other hotel buffets of similar price range. But the sashimi quality was very good as compared. Cooked food was nice but nothing memorable. Chilli crab was not very fresh and meat stuck to the shell. Food was replenished once in a while so you probably have to keep a lookout often. Would recommend only if you have accor plus membership for 50% discount.

Go there to Try their chef selection menu and it is not disappointing. Modern and chic ambience, overlooking the greenery of the tanjong pager area.

Ordered iberico pork, octopus and Paris Brest (dessert). Pork was a bit tough, but its chewy and juicy. Octopus was decent. Dessert was most special, with different textures and flavours (chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut) dancing in symphony. Service was good and you get 50% off when ordering ala carte as Accor member. Overall, it's ok with dessert as my favourite.

Edit: They replaced it again hours later, so it's all good again. Ordered turkey from the sofitel singapore city centre oddle me site, they sent us the wrong flavor, the spicy one that we can't eat. They sent the one we ordered to another customer that informed them that they got the wrong one. Instead of giving us a new one or compensation, they took us for a fool. We asked if we were getting the one they delivered to another customer but they denied it. Telling us that we were getting a new one in 1hour plus, ended up waiting 4hours only to receive a turkey that's clearly not new. It was cold too, didnt even bother to reheat to hide things after claiming it was new. They even asked us not to touch the turkey we got because they need it, right after claiming that they were making a new one. Need it for what? To give it back to the other customer of course. Despite being in the wrong, they had quite the arrogant attitude. I guess this review isn't going to do anything but I just hope I can prevent some people from getting their day ruined from incidents like this, and yes, apparently we aren't good enough for them to tell a better lie, and they didn't even bother trying to hide it.

The effort put into the dishes’ tastes and presentation is commendable. The price of the food is reasonable given the quality. Staff advised us that our Accor Plus membership yielded steeper discounts than their set lunch so we should order ala carte and we were not disappointed. Will definitely return for more next time!

Food is quite disappointing. We ordered Lobster Bisque and Fried Eggplant for starters, Wagyu Beef with Chimicuri and Wagyu Beef Cheek for mains. The fried eggplant is quite nice and crispy, but the rest of the order is quite disappointing in terms of taste. Presentation wise is good.

Didnt try any beef dishes cuz im not a red meat fan but the fish are all hits, including the firm tuna! hahaha 4 stars only because it is very expensive. Otherwise even the very soupy hokkien mee is a lovely surprise in the mouth!

Came with my friends for lunch and ordered 3 course set lunch. First of all, the kitchen ventilation is not functioning, so the whole Racines dining area is deep in smoke. One of the staff mistaken our orders; but instead of apologising, the female manager Ms. Najihah approached us with the 'wrong' plate of food on her hand, raised her tone of voice on us and question us about our orders. I got 2 other staff came over trying to 'verify' our orders before they finally willing to change it. Worse customer service ever! I ordered Wagyu beef brisket, expecting it to be tender and soft. Turned out to be hard as hell, feels like chewing on some rubber. Really disappointed with the food quality, one of the worst food ever! Can't believe this is the Sofitel standard.

Overall, food was not bad. Lobster bisque was very average, ginseng soup abit bland. The truffled mash potato was also quite tasteless, could be creamier and with much stronger truffle taste. Chocolate lava cake is good, not too sweet - even a non-chocolate lover finished the cake! Try to snag a window side table for a nice view!

Buffet comes with a main course. Leave some space in your tummy for desserts as they were delightful! Cheese selection was great as well. A little on the pricier side as there wasn’t a very large variety of food. Nevertheless, we were really full. Service was excellent. Thank you!

Overdue review. Had reunion dinner here and it was such a pleasant experience compared to dining in a noisy Chinese restaurant. The place has nice and posh decor and was not crowded. The yusheng was great as they used good quality smoked salmon. The best dish was the Angus beef which was perfectly done and full of flavour. The ravioli with wild mushrooms was good too. The worst dish was the crab Kuih Pie Tee and it was nothing like the traditional KPT. The desserts, Orange Mousse and Coconut panna cotta were just OK.

Racines at Sofitel Singapore City Centre has a new, refreshed menu! Newly Minted Director of Culinary and Beverage, Isaac Henry, unveils a revitalized à la carte menu that highlights the fusion of French and local culinary craftsmanship. These offerings not only excite the senses but are also thoughtfully crafted with sustainability in focus.

P for Perfect. My other half brought me there for dinner on Valentines Day because their menu was the most interesting out of all our other options. And Racines exceeded both our expectations on that night. Trust me, I don’t give out 5 star reviews that easily. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived and we got ushered to one of the better tables. There was a complimentary rose on the table; it was a small but sweet gesture. The servers were professional and made us feel welcome. The respective courses were served promptly after we finished the one before. We fell in love with everything that touched our lips. Especially the first three dishes. I’ve forgotten the details as it has been almost a month since I visited but everything was definitely on point, or even higher. (Pardon my memory, and my photo taking skills) Probably one of the most underrated restaurants that I have been to!

This is only my second visit, and my initial dining experience was fantastic, prompting my return. Unfortunately, the quality has noticeably declined since my last visit in July 2023. In just four months, the lunch buffet, once a delight for me, has taken a downturn. Some food was served cold, and some items tasted reheated rather than freshly cooked. The Chili Crab, for instance, had dry and tough meat that clung stubbornly to the shells. Attempting to scrape it off proved futile. The Laksa lacked flavor, and the counter staff seemed disinterested. Chopsticks and porcelain soup spoons were not provided at the Laksa Station. We had to get the chopsticks from the Japanese Food Station at the other end, and we gave up hunting for the porcelain soup spoons. Popular items like Satays, Kueh Pie Tee, and Seafood On Ice (just to name a few) took an unreasonably long time to be replenished. Multiple trips to the stations resulted in returning to my table empty-handed. Desserts were disappointing, with no staff attending to the desserts/bread areas, raising concerns about flies. I observed them enjoying a party on a few occasions. Lol. However, I must commend the excellent table service provided by the manager and staff. Overall, the buffet spread doesn't match its previous standard, and given the current quality, the price seems unjustified unless you're an Accor Member benefiting from a 50% discount.

Food was really good, especially the Iberian Pork and Lamb Rump. The Wagyu Rump didn’t taste like wagyu, although it was still a nice steak. The Burrata and Honey Cheese Cake (complimentary Accor Plus cake) were good too. Reason for the four stars: there were only 3 waiters serving the entire restaurant’. We can tell that the waiters are trying their best but they were just too short-handed. Hope the management can improve the staffing issues.

Ordered the set lunch. The lobster bisque soup was thick and nice. The main course and dessert tasted good too. The portion is a bit small. The portion for the ala carte dishes is bigger.

To sum up my food experiences, the best thing I had there is the coffee I made myself. I Was enticed by the 4.2 reviews here but my experience was very disappointing x 2. First they put me at the table facing the afternoon sun. I requested to change but the concierge who received me at the entrance told me it was full booking. And just before I went off the manager came by and make a small talk with me and was told why they were only afew tables today. Barely 5 plus my table. So someone lied. 🤥 Went there for the lunch buffet. First off the food seem like they were from last night. The chill crab tasted like it has been reheated or micro wave. It was chewy. The worst I ever had. WHAT happened to a 5 star restaurant. Even the chicken rice , rice tasted bad like it has been left there for sometime or reheated. The top layer of the rice was hard. Beef Satay was like a chewing a beef jerky. Basically things that were deemed costly was bad. Soups porridge and fried oyster tasted good. Some pastry tasted ok other like pandan cake or the layer cakes tasted hard. Which I had no idea how can cakes tasted hard. Needless to say I didn’t finished them all. My concern wasn’t that it tasted bad, my concern was my to having a stomach upset if I ate them. I left many items half eaten. I was at spiral Sofitel Manila 2 weeks and the service and quality of food was day and night. Albeit I had dinner buffet in Manila, but it’s the freshness of the food that is the main concern. Sofitel at the city center set a low standard. So I was told the crowd during lunch was bad by the staff at Sofitel, and so the food wasn’t as “full” menu as they would like etc and the chef was not motivated. Still I paid $92 SGD for a lunch buffet. There are probabaly some other ways which the Sofitel can manage the bad crowded situation like maybe not charging at much as what hotel buffet would charge since it cannot provide and maintain the quality and variety of food it can offer. Perhaps with a lower cost and a lesser variety it might attract crowds like myself who will come with a lower expectations. And probably would receive a more favorably review for their buffet lunch. So of now 11/11/2023, I surely cannot recommend going to Sofitel lunch buffet. Here some food photos and the receipt. Photos looks tempting but the real thing aren’t. It was a great disappointment having to make the reservation. One week prior just to be lied to and put sitting next to the warm windows when they were plenty more comfortable tables and a lack-lusted variety of food.

Nice ambience. Friendly staff. Good food. Went there together with my mom, siblings and their families for lunch. While we were enjoying ourselves, Paul( staff) came over with a plate of fruits and macaroons and a specially made get well card. He presented it to one of my nieces. We were so pleasantly surprise that he took notice that my niece was using clutches and actually spoke to her and found out that she is part of TKD team and just went through an op. I have seen restaurants prepare special perks for birthdays. This is the first time seeing restaurant staff paid attention to the "condition" of his guests and did the unexpected. Another lady staff( forgot to ask her name) heard my 4 year old nephew wanted chocolate drink. Went to make a special one for him. We are impressed. Thank you for making the family gathering extra memorable. Simply amazing team ( in addition to serving such nice food).

Came to Racines to try out their set menu! We tried both the french and chinese menus. The food was okay but i wouldn’t say it’s worth the price point - (not pictured) king prawns didn’t look like king prawns and was covered in mayo which wasn’t fun. The ngoh hiang was decent but a little too oily. Mains were okay, i felt that the sauce for the codfish wasn’t evenly distributes so some parts of the fish just tasted bland but the beef was well done. Desserts were quite yummy. Overall take - not bad to try once

Amazingly well made pistachio ice cream which is surprisingly good with an interesting play on the texture. Simply the fries are also one of the best that we have tried anywhere. Soft on the inside and extra crisp on the outside, with the option of mayonnaise as a dipping sauce. Truly a delight 💦

The booth seats was dirty, had sauce on it, from the night b4 I'd guess. And the fried food is served cold. Baked beans should be avoided, for breakfast. I can't imagine, the quality to drop so low.

My friend and I visited Racines, Sofitel City Center with skepticism after reading mixed reviews. We opted for a la carte - Foie Gras (8.5/10) , Chargrilled Wagyu Beef Flank (10/10) , Black Cod (9/10) and truffle fries (8/10 - a tad more truffle would've made it a perfect 10). The service was excellent!! And yes, we will definitely return!!

Overall, the food is just okay. Giving one more star because of the ambience. It’s a nice place for networking lunch. The dessert was my favourite. The orange peel mixed with the red bean paste gives a refreshing kick to it. The rest of the dishes were on the bland side.

I used to make regular visit to Racine and enjoyed the food and experience. My recent visit was different from my past experience. The main was slow and didn’t seem to cook properly. the beef was cooked as medium rare instead of medium. The fries were very cold. I asked before ordering that I wanted to use certain discount. When I asked for the bill with the same person, no discount applied. They had to reverse the charge and worked on the discount again after we asked.

Really enjoyed dinner here at Racines! The wagyu steak and frites and the truffle croquettes are my personal favourites. The hokkien mee, although has a very rich broth that is packed with flavour and fresh seafood, is a bit overpriced for local hawker fare. The herb bread that is served is also super delicious with salted butter.

The food is great, although am not a fan of the Baked Peanut Financier, too dense and sweet for my liking. The staff are friendly and very attentive; gifted complimentary cocktail since it was my husband’s birthday. Restaurant was very quiet and serene, which was pleasant to have good conversation with your partner. We had some issues trying to order via the QR code as it is not very user friendly. Otherwise, experience here is good.

We had a staycation at Sofitel City Centre and dined in at Racines for dinner during our stay. The food was yummy, especially the Lobster hokkien mee and we enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Service was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast the following day was also a delight as the portion was generous and the selection is great start to our day. Breakfast was edible but the waiting time was appalling. We waited 40 minutes for our food to reach us and by that time, at least 3 families that were sitter after us had already finished. Luckily, the staff was understanding. Otherwise, for a 5 star hotel, the standard needs to be better! Food wise, taste could be better. Only the coffee and tea stood out.

Tried their Christmas Joy buffet at $138++/pax, it's severely overpriced based on the food they served (although is festive season but still overpriced) . And they charged us $14 for the water which nobody told us there would be an additional cost for it. Food was so so, similar to those $68-88 range buffet. We spent $341 for 2 person. Really not recommended. 2 star is for the free parking coupon.

Had breakfast here during my staycation. The food service was so slow that it took 20 mins for the mains to arrive. Had ordered udon, and when it arrived, the udon was overcooked and the bonito flakes were sitting soggily in the miso soup. Flavour wise, nothing special too. Had their prata too, and it was oily too. The mango chutney tastes like canned mango in mango syrup. And the curry was just bland and watery. Ordered sides and it didn't arrive until we checked with the service staff. Even then not everything ordered arrive. Staffs were not prompt in service as we have sat there for a long time but they didn't come to ask if we had ordered anything. Not the kind of service expected from a 5 star hotel restaurant.

I like Racines cause it provides French & Asia menu. However owing to the Covid-19, the usual menu has been changed and has fewer choices of dishes. Normally I try the French way of cooking. I like the lobster bisque the most but recently the ingredients has changed a bit. Wagyu Beef cheek, scallop, pork & striplion are good. For desserts, I like souffle & chocolate too. The only Asian dish I tried was fried rice & it's always nice. Service are good and seats are spacious and comfortable.

Resident restaurant of Sofitel City Centre hotel, it’s above the average standards of a hotel restaurant. Brightly lit with natural sunlight during the day due to tall floor to ceiling glass panels, it boasts a center counter which presumably is for buffet spread during normal days. Decor wise is modern and tasteful. We had both a dinner and breakfast experience. Our 3 course dinner’s highlight is actually their bluepea cod fish nasi lemak as it has a good variety of side dishes and all very well cooked. Conversely their beef was not particularly favoured because it’s pretty hard to bite at medium doneness. Mushroom soup is very good, and I would definitely recommend to add their buttery mashed potatoes as side. Breakfast spread as ala carte buffet is comprehensive, you have some dim sum, cold cuts, breads and pastries and also hot cooked dishes like omelette, bacon, hash browns etc for your choosing.

Took me some time to comment on Google. But I think Racines really need to look into their management and take customers' feedbacks seriously. I planned a birthday party for my husband and a group of friends to celebrate with us in Feb 2020. We did highlight the parts to the restaurant where we felt it was unacceptable the following week. 1.) Salty and watery lobster bisque 2.) Spilling of champagne on my husband 3.) Steak with too much tendon 4.) Rushing to close the restaurant Since then, because of covid situation, we were unable to contact them for follow-up. I felt that Racines is trying to ignore our agreement for second testing made earlier. Too bad, I had some good experiences with Racines before I planned that party. But I don't see myself going there again.

The restaurant has a mixed of Western and Eastern. The food was very well presented and very delicious. I enjoyed the ambience and the waiters were very professional and courteous. Great place to dine with a good view too. Keep up the good job to the staff at Racines

👍 This is my first attempt in this brand. Overall was fond of the experience and food presentation. One of the comforting pricing western fares in town. They have good Customer service, just that food needs improvement! They do serve us bread with butter (complimentary). We ordered quite a bit of th...
