Delicious meal as usual! Love the chewy texture of the noodle and the flavour has been consistently maintained. The only downside is the circulation of air is not as fantastic. The strong fragrance of the noodles does feel overwhelmed if you enjoy circulated fresh air while dining. Still a fantastic meal overall. Enjoyed.

When I want some ramen I always go Sanpoutei ramen. They offer rly nice ramen. And I usually eat maze soba or donkotsu ramen. Both are rly nice and so flavour. Also they have nice and soft onsentamago which is my favorite onsentamago in singapore. This is my hidden ramen jem! Moreover, staffs are sooo helpful and kind. I love crew of Sanpoutei they always offer super kind services. And one of good things is they provide a basket for put bags and other stuffs like laptop bag without saying anything! They just give it to me which is really sensitive kindness! I always appreciate to this store💚

I only do ramen reviews. I had Niigata Shoyu Ramen today at Sanpoutei Ramen in Singapore. It was one of the best bowls of shoyu ramen I have ever had. Just phenomenal. The highlight was the amazing broth. It was clean, complex, and wonderfully addictive. The niboshi/tori soup was just a delight and made me come to terms with the fact I have a lot to learn when it comes to a clean shoyu ramen. The noodles were also very nice, and it was great to watch them getting made on site. The toppings were well executed but I’ve never had a bowl like this where the foundation of noodles and soup stole the show so completely. I also had a quick taste of the miso ramen as well. It was very good, but a mere mortal standing next to the Niigata shoyu. 🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜/5. Apologies for the harsh downlighting photos, restaurants just love the downlighting. If your city is lucky enough to have a Sanpoutei and you want to know what world class shoyu tastes like then get in early before the lines get too long. IG: 80ishplusramen

The mochi was delicious too.

One of the best ramen! Highly recommended! Went for the signature shoyu with extra egg and char Siu for $17. The noodle is springy and thick, the broth is amazing without being salty. The bamboo shoot which I usually don’t like was so good and soft it was almost like a good mushroom! Only down side is the broth is not enough I still had noodles and char siew left when the broth was all gone! :) place is small so prepare to queue at more popular hours.

Ramen is super delicious and authentic! If you are a ramen lover, sanpoutei is a must try. The fried chicken is also surprise me. Very juicy and fresh. The interior design and decoration is very Japanese.

Broth is tasty but could be a bit thicker. Noodles are firm but could be thicker. Menma is strangely soft and has that chemical-ish taste.

Ordered the sardine tsukemen and two sides. The portion of noodles was pretty substantial. The dipping sauce was delicious and paired very well with the noodle.

Food is not bad. Apparently, hailing from Niigata where they are well known for rice and naturally sake. Anyway, food is decent and I am not aware of good ramen places in West of Singapore. So it's a decent ramen fox for me living near beauty world.

Recommend: Anything! My favorite ramen place in Singapore. Period. Wonderful refined soup base, along with springy, firm in-house made noodles. I’ve repeated visits at this place for over 2-3 years and they’ve never failed to disappoint.

This is still best Ramen here in Singapore. the broth is light and the noodle is firm. the bamboo shoots, the seaweed, the vegetable serving is well balanced. The egg is perfect! Every bite is comforting. Every slurp is relaxing. The pricing haven’t changed all through this years.

I don't usually like tsukemen ramen but this place really proved me wrong. The dipping broth is really well balanced in flavor, I'm drooling thinking about it. There's about 10 tables so expect a short wait if you go during peak hours

Touted as one of the better tsukemen in SG. To best enjoy tsukemen, have to eat fast, dipping the cold ramen into a very hot portion of broth before that turns cold. The broth here is served really hot. The standard portion of ramen is 1.5 times for the tsukemen, I am a small eater and would have liked the option of a smaller portion of ramen. I love takenoko and will always an add portion, the ones here seems to be braised a little longer and are softer.

Food is delicious. The sardine broth ramen is a 5 star, the oden is a miss… please avoid it. 😋

Went right after the place opened. It was more or less full before 12:30 though and the tables are quite close together so expect to be able to hear others’ conversations quite clearly. The very popular tsukemen didn’t disappoint; the noodles were springy and the portion was good. The menma (bamboo shoots) was a bit pungent but the broth easily covered the smell. The broth also contains small pieces of chashu so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything a typical ramen can offer. The ikura onigirazu (rice sandwich) was disappointing however as the ikura was only placed on top and there wasn’t enough to go with the rice. Not really worth the price. Maybe only good for people who won’t feel full with just a bowl of ramen.

Chasu that melts in your mouth and flavorful broth. The noodles are the thicker and broader kind which are chewy and does not get soggy easily. The fish smell is a tad strong for their Shoyu Ramen, for those who can be sensitive to it. 8/10

Had my favourite Tsukumen and it was as good as I remembered. Tasty dip that's not too salty and chewy noodles. You can ask for a bigger portion of noodles at no extra charge if you are hungry. My son tried the spicy miso ramen, unfortunately it was overwhelming garlic flavour which was too strong. So it's 5 stars for the Tsukumen and 3 for the spicy miso ramen.

Went to this restaurant with my friend at 6pm on a Wednesday night so the restaurant is relatively quiet. The interior of the restaurant makes the place cozy. In love with the Japanese concept. 😍 Food wise, I like their broth and their chashu. Location wise, the restaurant is near the to the Holland Village Exit B, right beside the Decathlon so it’s quite easy to find. Love like to visit again! Accurate as of 15 November 2023.

The atmosphere was very traditional Japanese style restaurant. The ramen was light but very flavourful. My favourite was the egg and the pork belly. The spinach was not traditional and that probably gave the broth a strong bitter flavour. Lack of green onions.

Came here today at around 7.30 PM with my husband and we didn't immediately order because we're waiting for our brother. So we ordered 10 mins later and the ramen was served around 10 mins later (7.50 PM). I myself ordered the Nikumori Rich Spicy Miso Ramen and I was not impressed at all because it was not spicy. I don't even understand why they name it spicy. Besides, it's kinda bland. The only thing that I enjoyed was the pork belly. The portion was quite big to me tough. I personally won't come here again because the waiter was rude for asking us to pay around 10 mins after we had finished eating. It was 8.50 PM. And we had not finished chatting so wr asked her if it's okay if we pay later and she said okay, but 10 mins later she came again and asked us to do the same thing. It's not like the restaurant was packed with customers. 2 tables on our left were empty and reserved, while 4 tables on our right side were also empty and NOT reserved. So, what was their problem? They didn't state any max. duration to eat. So, what was the problem? Weird. Definitely won't come back here again.

Yummy Yummy Yummy!! Not been to Holland Village often and this time wanna have lunch before proceeding to another appointment... Wow! It turned out the food were so good!! I also like the decor - A mix of traditional and contemporary Japanese concept. Nice and cosy enough! Warning - If you like something 'lighter', please order something more regular and not the rich-based soup/ramen... 🤪🤣 It's VERY RICH! and you might not be comfortable... The delightful discovery was the Cucumber with Miso! Nice! However, I also feel that the cucumber can be slightly 'thinner' and don't need to be SO chunky... LOL Very difficult to bite!! 😅😂 Anyway, will look out and visit other outlets too. 🤟😁❤️

The ramen restaurant that worth dining in as a regular. The dried sardines fish is with rich dipping sauce. It’s good to go with the pickled bamboo shoots. It gets a little intense when had about half of the noodle portioning. on top of that the chilli is not mild, but good to with. The minced char Siew cubes are soft and tender that melts in the mouth. The dried noodles are so chewy and really good quality. The oden with great portioning but the soup is normal.

Although the portion is getting smaller (?Not sure if it's just me) ,but still be one of my most favorite ramen in Singapore. Great location at Holland v just 1 mins walk, friendly staffs and quick serving speed, highly Recommended!

Food was slightly above average. I wished they could have given more soba dip. The onsen egg was ruined before it got to our table.

The signature shoyu ramen is tasty despite the strong fish smell and the tsukemen has a strong bonito smell so if you like it you like it. I personally preferred the tsukenmen flavour more (comes with soft boiled egg too if you're into that) But I'd come back again for the chashuu. Flavour and texture very on point, SUPER thick cut too. Would come back again for the chashuu man.

The rave about this place goes far and wide. It brought me here with high expectations and and challenges my tastebuds as the food was flavorful and well executed. Things are what it seems and maybe better. I would say if you are looking for a decent Ramen in the west with a little shophouse hide-out, unlike the shopping mall outlets, this is it. I’d be back to try out other flavors and with that, I hope to prop up the ratings. It’s a decent 4 stars.

Although I think the orchard outlet has a slight edge on this one by putting everything together just that little bit better, it’s still a really good ramen restaurant in my opinion. Good texture on the noodles, broth that you can drink without feeling surfeit. This brand is probably one of those safe choices when you don’t want to be disappointed.

Previously had their tsukemen and fell it love with the broth and chewy noodles. Their bamboo shoots have a pretty strong pungent smell, so most might not like it. Tried the mazesoba which was again fantastic with the rich porky oilyness had me finishing my bowl before I knew it. It was a perfect pairing with their chewy noodles. It also came with a chicken based broth which was delicious but slightly oily. You could feel the collagen around your lips with every spoonful. Went back to try their tonkotsu and it was fantastic as well. The charsiew had a smokey note, was extremely tender, and was full of fatty flavors. With an amazing mazesoba, tsukemen and tonkotsu, Sanpoutei is at the top of my list for ramen in Singapore.

While the ramen is excellent like you would expect, the butadon is the sleeper hit with its perfectly grilled slices of pork and a raw egg yolk to mix in. It’s great with the creamy chicken and pork bone W soup (double soup, get it?).

My go-to for tonkotsu broth ramen. The tonkotsu broth is rich and creamy and especially comforting on a cold rainy day. The ramen is topped with thick and tender chashu slices and onsen egg. The sardine tsukemen with the umami-packed sardine broth is amazing as well.

Tasty ramen that doesn't feel too salty. Ordered the miso ramen with pork and egg, it had lots of fresh vegetables like beansprouts that made the ramen feel refreshing rather than thick and heavy. Friendly staff and clean ambience, overall one of the best ramen I've tried in Singapore.

their dry ramen with sardine dipping sauce is SUPER good as all the flavours complement each other SO WELL. the prawn side dish was also AMAZING!! the sauce went so well with the tempura prawn & surprisingly their tempura avocado that came with the dish was good as well. 100% recommend both dishes. their karage in tartar sauce did not disappoint & even the staple miso ramen here was flavourful. the only dish i would not recommend is the cucumber side dish 😬😬. for 6-8$, u can make this at home. it was just plain cucumber with a drop of a spicy sauce resembling gochujang? the cucumbers weren’t coated in seasoning.

This is located just outside and on top of Holland Village MRT. Place gives you Japanese vibes. Food is slightly pricier, but overall still decent. Ordered the sardine tsukemen and was pleasantly surprised. You need to dip the noodles into the soup to enjoy it. And the soup can be rather rich and flavourful. They also give you some soup to top-up if needed. The noodles are quite springy, which tastes like maggi Mee or instant noodles to be honest, but definitely better. Egg is the runny type and bamboo shoot can hardly go wrong. Overall love the 1 dish I tried, but not sure about the other dishes. Might come again but not so often

Ramen comes in many varieties in Singapore, but none come better than this. Sanpoutei's noodles are spectacular, they have a density to the bite that totally differentiates them from any other noodle. On top of the the broths are amazingly rich with brilliant flavour and balance. Truly worth the visit.

  • 3/5 meien g. 1 year ago on Google
Good variety of choices and flavours that cannot be commonly found in other ramen shops. Ramen is also tangy and chewy, broth was perfect too. Downside is that the place can be cramped and rather uncomfortable. Was seated at the area near the backdoor/toilet and could smell the toilet/carpet (strange smell?). Also, not good for big groups.
