Very wide selection of local food fare. Quality is generally good, especially the steamed cold prawns and crabs, which are very fresh and sweet tasting. There are a good selection of Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisines. Also included the sweet desserts, ice creams and the teh tarik is pretty good. The price point is a little steep though for the types of food on offer, though made up for it for quality.

Not much of a buffet person but the taste and variety of food here is decent, the desserts are great for second tummy. The view is nice. The service staff are prompt in clearing dishes and helping to serve (when the ladles fell).

My aunt and i decided to have buffet and Asian Cafe was just around the corner. We called to make a reservation but was told the restaurant is full, advised us to walk in instead and we did! We were seated almost immediately. Took a walk to look at rhe selection and boy! So much to try! The cold dishes were awesome! Crab and prawn is fresh and sweet, scallop was also tasty. Local delights like satay was really yummy and we went for a second round! There might be a little wait though. DIY laksa also receiced good review but we were too lazy to try.😆 then there's indian and chinese cooking too. The dessert spread was so wide! From ice cream to cake to fruits to durian puree. There's even a teh tarik station!

The staff was nice enough to work out a good promotion for me. Although there was a miscommunication from the beginning. (was promised a much better promotion) The food is good for a halal selection

My family was on holiday in Fairtmont Hotel. Stopped in for our complimentary breakfast and had a decent great meal. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The buffet style here offers local dishes from different races. I wouldn't gives a top notch rating for the fact that the normal coffee was simply diluted or perhaps one is drinking hot water. Immediately I get the waiter to clear off and asked for an Expresso specially brewed from the coffee machine. Everything about this restaurant was never really fantastic. The place though was clean and smelled good. The only setback was the restaurant needs to be more selective when comes to hiring good waiter. I have a waiter that was so desperate to clear off the leftover sugar packets, INCLUDING MY EXPRESSO COFFEE which I had bearly even taken a sip :-( Next, my wife caught the same waiter standing quietly staring at my son playing with his mobile phone for quite some time before she asked her to move away when I was away from the table. Overall, the atmosphere, food and most of the drinks were just slightly above average. The management may need to buck up on their service and food quality. To my family, it was not really a pleasant experience. Hopefully, the restaurant management after reading my review will re-look and improve on them.

Came here for a staff lunch and enjoyed the lunch buffet. The Asian Market Cafe really lives up to its name. They have a wide variety of food from local to South-east Asian and even Japan. You’ll be hard pressed to sample every dish on offer but every dish I tried was delicious and tasted authentic. They even have a make-it-yourself rojak and laksa station. One dish that stood out for me was the red curry oxtail stew. The oxtail was flavourful and fall-apart-tender. They also have a wide range of desserts from make-it-yourself chendol to durian pengat to Peranakan kueh to cakes. Do come with an empty stomach so you can sample everything on offer.

This is not our 1st time trying asian market cafe buffet. However this is the most disappointing experience we ever had. We planned to spend our birthday with friends. However it is not a satisfying dining. 1) Seafood section : the supply of oyster is so little and not generous in topping up. There is a long queue for seafood but they only top up 10 oysters. Every 5 to 10min each topping always 10. Definitely they saw there is a beeline queue. 10 just 10. They kept the remaining oyster back to fridge infront of guest. That is shock us which your staff did that way. 2) Grilled Satay : the chef Ashraf grilles chicken and beef sticker. The chef scrapped those beef oil toward chicken stick. It is so inconsiderate as there is guest that do not eat beef at all due to religious. How to eat like this? Even i standing there more than 10min watching how he cook the satay. 3) Cooked food : Less variety 4) Slow in replenishing food 5) overall food taste standard dropped. Not as tasty as before

As the name says Asian Market Cafe, this restaurant offers a good spread of Asian food such as satay, laksa, durian pengat and lots more. The laksa broth is real good! Salmon fish and the seafoods are very fresh. Clams are pretty big, crabs a bit small but is ok. They also serve crayfish which is not bad. The wasabi tartare sauce is quite unique cos not everywhere serve this. Satay meats are soft and juicy. Overall they are a really good place for special occasion meal such as birthdays, events, anniversaries etc. The utensils are unique as its printed with peranakan patterns. Service is Ok for buffet standard as most of the foods and drinks are topped up in time 🙂 if you have a local credit card its best to go in pairs in order to enjoy the 1 for 1 promotion.

Great place! I had a buffet lunch a while ago, this buffet is very worth the price especially with the card discounts (on their website). The spread is extensive and this buffet is one of the few who provide juices, so far only this restaurant and RISE at mbs provide juices. I can recall mango juice being one of the options, and they even had free flow teh tarik which was delightful! The seafood was fresh, but I can’t comment much because I am nota seafood lover. My mom who is had a few plates of it. The sushi was great, the tofu pockets were sweet and really good. You can make your own laksa here instead of having a chef make it for you, so you can choose a small or large portion depending on you! The satay, prata and Chili crab mantou were all very good. The other cooked food was decent and nothing special, but still good! Desserts were amazing as a dessert lover, they had everything from basque cheesecake to kuehs to egg tarts to even durian purée, which my mom was really happy about 😆😆 the ondeh ondeh cake was really good! fruits were soo refreshing too. Ambience was perfect although we didn’t get a seat by the full length window, the place was spacious and just great. Definitely worth a try!

Wide range of asian spread to choose from. Zichar style, Malay stays etc.. The cold seafood : Fresh juicy prawns! The crab is just way too small. Sashimi is good as well You can cook your own noodles as well! Was there on a weekday lunch and they serve DIY rojak! The sauce paste is good! The satay taste not too bad. Wish that the dessert had more options to choose from. As it's a buffet , there is not much to expectations on the service here.

Celebrated a brithday here. Food variety and quality is above average. Our favorites were the noodle self service station which had the option of laksa and fish soup. Had 3 rounds of the laksa myself. There is a range of dessert / cakes available too. Ambience was good, service was prompt too with service staff clearing our used plates efficiently. Replenishment of the food could be done better but it is still acceptable. Overall, is a nice place to hang out, chill over its buffet spread.

The food was so good that we went here every day for brekkie. Hot menu changed daily and there was also a chef to custom make egg dishes to your specifications. Wonderful mix of Asian (Muslim) and Euro dishes. Fruit was wonderfully ripe and tasty. Restaurant was super busy on Saturday morning but weekdays were easy.

The experience was quite a letdown. If you’ve experienced a buffet breakfast next door at the Clove, a comparison can’t really be made. Decor is alright with Asian-Peranakan flair inspired by road names across Singapore. Service was okay. Selection of food was abysmal. Coffee selection is laughable considering the Fairmont is a 5-star rated hotel. Would not recommend.

It was weekend and we decided to revisit this cafe for it's buffet lunch since our last visit back in 2020 when it was during the Covid19 pandemic with ala carte buffet style with very limited food range. (I had also reviewed it then) It's good to be back here. The restaurant has a lovely and cosy ambience, is spacious and bright. And there is a nice street view. By the way, this is a halal restaurant. During the day of our visit, it was almost full house. The buffet spread was quite wide that includes Asian, International and local cuisines. The foods were generally nice and yummy. Some of the "outstanding" food included the satay, biryani and rendang, herbal chicken soup, fresh seafood like prawns, clams, salmon otak, stir fried pepper prawns, laksa, mee rebus, chilli crabs, rojak, durian pengat, a wide range of pastries and kuehs, desserts and fruits etc. In fact, they named their various buffet counters using the district names of Singapore which is quite interesting. Generally, no complaint on the food. Replenishment of the food was done quite promptly throughout though the refilling of satay was way too slow as the chef was very slow and taking a longer than expected time to slowly grill them despite of the long queue. (in fact, they can first grill them halfway and then regrill them for replenishment instead of grilling the raw ones which will take longer time) Coffee, tea and fruit juices are included in the buffet as well which was good. But for the juices, some were too sweet and others too diluted, in fact, if you take the drinks at different times, they would taste different as the staff was mixing the syrup on the spot when refilling. So it will be good if they can be more consistent in terms of taste. Service crew were friendly and efficient in clearing used plates and utensils. However, the tables were arranged too close to one another (as you can see from my pics) as they probably want to maximise the space. So you can clearly hear what others were conversing about next to you or the surrounding tables (likewise they can also hear what you are saying). At some point of time, it was extremely noisy! Also, if you are sitting in the center, you will have to pass through at least 2 rows of chairs to "go out" to the buffet counters. Luckily the food were spread across the vast area, think they are trying to space out the diners. Overall, we did enjoy our dinning here and have eaten to our heart's content.

Wide selection of food available, staff are prompt in refilling when the food runs out. Foos is decent tasting but not amazing, but it's to be expected for buffet places. Fan favourites are the durian puree and the teh tarik.

One of the best buffets in Singapore - with international fare and local delicacies. The quality has improved since we last came. The oxtail was tender; the chilli crab was spicy and meaty; the seafood and sashimi were fresh. Great variety of local specialities - nonya kueh, laksa, satay and rojak. I was surprised at how good the Indonesian cuisine was. Of course, I ended my meal with the durian pengat, a must-try at the Asian Market Cafe. Highly recommended buffet for Singaporeans and foreigners alike.

Went on a sunday lunch timeslot 12pm onwards. It was quite crowded with many people waiting outside the restaurant. It has been a few years since I last had their buffet spread. Saw that they are doing a 50% promotion off the total bill by paying the selected debit cards (OCBC/POSB, etc). Honestly, it was definitely not worth it paying for the full price with not much variety of the food that they offered. I will give it 2/5 even though I am paying for half the price because the food & spread was very mediocre. I remembered they used to have a prata station where the chef cooked it on the spot per order but I guess not anymore. The only food that you may get your price (which are protein) worth it were the oysters, raw salmon, clams, prawns, crabs, mutton, chicken and fish. The chicken satay was alright but the beef’s version was bad. In terms of carbs, got your usual laksa, rojak, fried noodles, fried rice, roasted potatoes, cheesy minced meat, kang kong, broccoli, and some cold appetisers like jellyfish. The sushi was pretty meh as it is just your standard assorted sushi which you can get it at your local sushi store. They got variations of your kuehs, icecream and pastries which I am not really a fan of (cause it’s too sweet). If you have a sweet tooth, this section is for you. Had their chocolate icecream which you need to scoop it on your own. It was rich and tasted good. The other flavours were strawberry and vanilla. Wanted to get their fruits but it ran out, so managed to get only their pineapples which were disappointing. A plus point will be that the servers are actively clearing your plates whenever you are off to get your food. Honestly, I don’t think I will be back for the buffet as there are definitely better options elsewhere to get your money worth. The restaurant needs to work on diligently topping up of food as it is a buffet spread and most of the food are close to empty whenever I (and the rest) wants to take a serving plate of it.

Great for large group reservations including those preferring vegetarian or Halal meals. I could see there was a wide array of food but I mainly went in for stations with the shortest queues eg laksa. Of note there’s a robust set of dessert carts cutely named Geylang, Pasir Panjang etc for those with a sweet tooth. I loved the view from my table in the corner too.

Visited this place for the first time as we celebrated my colleague’s farewell. Location was easy to find, ambiance was good and food selection was okay. Upon entering, you will see the variety of cold seafood that will excite you and make you grab your plate so you can start your food coma stint. I liked that they named every station after the streets in Singapore. They also labelled every food so you know what you are having. This is a good place to bring your friends and/or family members who are visiting Singapore. I enjoyed the majority of the dishes here. You will also experience tossing your own Rojak and making your own Laksa. This buffet is not the best but I had a good experience. Btw, I had three cups of their Kopi Tarik. Make sure to have it while enjoying the dessert/s of your choice. Ciao!

If you ask me if I would ever repeat my dining experience here, nope, I will not and I will not recommend anyone to this hotel buffet. I have other hotel restaurants with about same pricing that offer a lot more variety with whole meat. Here at Asian Market Cafe, all I can see bony salmon fish with no replenishment. Food selection was so limited that I have to repeat my carbo intake instead of proteins to fill me up. For coffee, goodness, no latte, no flat white (they are chargeable) but a cannister of ready-brewed coffee and tea. Sad.

It's a very average buffet restaurant, only a few items were nice.. crayfish was not fresh, crabs were not fresh, prawns were alright, and there were NO lobsters... and the aircon in the restaurant is very weak... I don't mind top up a bit more to eat at better ones...

Expected quite a bit from this buffet since its Fairmont however got an immediate reality check! After having entered the buffet, I realised that the food options were quite limited considering we were paying $80/pax! Most of food lacked taste or was completely misrepresented. The cold seafood was the only dish worth eating! Although there was a greater selection of desserts, taste wise they were pathetic. The only saviours for the desserts was the Durian and egg tart. For the price point there are definitely better options and it's safe to say I won't be returning.

A great place to organised a special occasion with big no. of groups. Dining with big groups can be very time-consuming especially in a restaurant. So the best is having it in a buffet restaurant. Restaurant is at level 2 of Fairmont Hotel. Service was alright. Unfortunately, food quality wise is on the average side. In my opinion, for a buffet that cost you more than $50 above, you would expect a very good quality of dishes. So it’s best not to put high expectations on the food. Nevertheless, still a great place to hold a big special occasion with your love ones. Please be alarmed, it can be very noisy once it’s full house and expect long ques on the buffet line.

The view from this restaurant is fantastic! The location is pretty easy to go by bus or train. Food is good but since it is during the phase 2 covid19 pandemic, the buffet is served at your table which made the poor servers super busy which means the food was also served quite slow...understandable.... Only one serving of sashimi, seafood platter ; the chilli crab took a long time for the second serving. They are having 50% off for buffet lunch atm. ( Pls check as terms apply ...) I have been here before the covid 19 pandemic and their buffet spread is pretty awesome as they really have many choices of crabs and food. My friend who loves crabs went gaga then 😂

overall great dining in terms of food quality and service. we went on a sat night for dinner was almost full house. and was so rowdy? ahahah but the staff were quick and apt in replenishing the displayed food 👍🏻 only for me personally, i don’t like the rush and the “kiasu-ness”. and didn’t really take ALOT at one go (unlike most of them there, the laksa bowl was overloaded?… like relaaax guys)… and unfortunately missed out on trying some dishes. other than that the seafood on ice was fresh and delightful! also the nian gao (lucky i took 2 pieces to try at first), by 9pm it’s GONE 🥲 perhaps next time i should visit on a weekday to avoid the ravening crowd 😮‍💨

We had the opportunity to hold our humble company appreciation dinner for the staffs here for a simple buffet dinner. Personally, the buffet spread as expected revolves around Asian food in particular many local delights, worthy of mentioning are the chilli crab, durian mousse and laksa! They have live seafood station with sashimi. And unlike many places they offer crayfish! Above mentioned are definitely my personal favourites. And I love how they labelled each station as different locality of Singapore. For example Geylang road was the dessert station. No pun intended. Something that truly amazed me, was the working attitude and diligence of the servers and chefs. Our table was almost cleared promptly whenever we finished our food. Water being top up constantly. And this was despite the restaurant being fully packed! Although the workload is tough i must say the crew are professional and put on the warmest smile when serving :) really appreciate the service! Our experience at Asian Market Cafe was definitely a pleasant one! We look forward to more sessions here :)

Dined at the Asian Market Cafe to usher in the new year, a day before the eve of - almost a tradition of ours since 2012. We got a great view from our seat by the window! The amazing Asmadi was not around this time of the year when we visited (always a pleasure to see him), but we were nicely taken care of by Ming Hui who was excellent at making sure that we had an enjoyable experience. Thanks Ming Hui! Glad to see that they still serve their highlight dessert (although I eat it as an appetiser) - the creamy & luscious durian pengat! This place is great to return to for some of its notable great staff, mentioned in a lot of reviews here over the years, and its welcoming environment that gives a chillax feel so you sometimes forget you are in a hotel restaurant :)

📍Located at Fairmount Hotel. Local food fare. Quality is generally good, especially the steamed cold prawns 🦐 & sashimi, fresh! Sadly no oysters 🦪... why!! 😭 🥘 Hot food wise, selection of Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisines. DIY Laksa.. We took a small bowl to share, nice gravy, taste was just right. Satay ~ hmmmmm, have to eat it when its hot.. 😃 DIY rojak is a good thing so i can jus add in my fav ingredients and have fun tossing them up. 🧁Variety of desserts - Durian penyat, nonya kuehs and portugese mini egg tarts.. 🍨 Gelato ice cream comes in 3 flavours chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Fruits available too!🍉🍈🍇 ☕️🥤Drinks includes mango and cranberry juice, coffee and tea. 😊👍Good service as staffs are helpful, attentive and quick in clearing off plates. 💰 The price point is a little steep for the types of food available though quality ok. Theres 50% discount for selected banks' credit cards. 😊 Overall a good dinning experience. Halal and suitable for big group gathering! 👍

The experience wasn’t too great. Firstly, they are really short of staff and this lead to very slow service. Secondly, they dictate the food that you eat for the first round of appetisers and the last round of desserts. It’s a fixed set (mot allowing us to choose) and unfortunately this leads to food waste because we don’t eat everything that they served to us. Thirdly, the quality of food is not there for the price of 70$++ per pax. Crabs and prawns weren’t too fresh. Local dishes served were so so. Laksa was a meh. Ok but satay was great!!! Lastly, I think this place looks dated and a nice renovation to it can lift the atmosphere to a higher notch. Wouldn’t be back for now.

The restaurant décor was a little bleak - it felt a little "cafeteria style", however I very much enjoyed the food. Great selection with good-sized servings (and of course, it's a buffet so you can return for more). The food selection was great and quality very good. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Special shoutout to Uncle Kelvin, one of the staff members there, who went the extra mile to make my sister's birthday celebration super special by bringing us a small cake and candle to blow out! I went there with my family on the 27th of December 2021 for dinner. Crazy expensive for the type of food they serve. The prawns, oysters & crabs wasn't fresh at all. The Crab had an unusual smell & the turkey tasted like cardboard. The only thing that is nice is the satay. Chicken satay was fine but the beef satay wasn't cooked well. There wasn't a wide selection of food. Definitely understaffed. Did not expect this kind of quality of food from a luxury buffet. 3 of my family members didn't feel well after eating. They had to use the toilet several times. For the price that we are paying, totally not worth it.

For the food variety and quality, I find that this halal buffet restaurant is quite pricey even after 50% bank discounts. While there are many types of cuisines, the overall quality wasn't top notch and expected of a hotel buffet. Also the overall restaurant ambience feels under-furnished and certainly needs a refurbishment.
