Had the best crab rasam, peppery and served piping hot. The mutton chukka was well seasoned and absolutely delicious, not sitting in a pool of oil like how they serve it in other restaurants. Mango bits in the mango fish curry were bursting with curry flavours. Vendakai masala was perfectly cooked with a light crunch. Fish cutlets were abit over fried but tasty and not soaked in oil. Bru coffee was strong and a perfect end to a wonderful lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and left without a heavy greasy feel in our tummy at the end of it. Will definitely be back: the food is top notch, the restaurant clean and cozy, the friendly and attentive service was much appreciated.

These dishes got me! The bro and sis were so kind. They will introduce and suggest the best unique dishes which suit you. The chilli level is adjustable. The most important is a reasonable price! I only spend 40+, not like other restaurants on this street, around 70+

Delightful experience with very authentic South Indian tasting food. Such a refreshing expericne compared to all the other restaurants in Singapore. Service is fast, staff are friendly. However do note you will end up waiting for quite sometime to get in during lunch hours. They sincerely need to enable a dinning time limit. So many customers just sitting and having coffee while the restaurant has to turn away other guests..

Lovely place for some nice South Indian food. I couldn’t pick any single dish as they were all tasty. Loved the sweet and salty lime juice as well. Definitely worth a visit.

This was absolutely stellar. Every dish we ate was unique in its flavours. Tender and cooked to perfection. I am not a fan of mutton stew but this was something else. The appams were also some of the best I've had in Singapore. We had a couple of desserts too. Both good (not pictured) and finished off with some nice filter coffee. Lovely staff and service. This is a must repeat... Oh yeah - btw try the coconut drink!

Very good chettinad food. A bit spicy but still good. Highly recommend the mutton soup, mutton sukha, and chicken kothu. The pistachio and mango kulfi was also good. Reasonably priced. They don't take reservations, only walk-ins

Honest review: This is the best South Indian or Tamil food (to be specific) restaurant serving non-vegetarian food in Singapore. I don’t think I’ve found anything better. Service - 9 | Ambience - 7 | Food - 10 The price point is reasonable for the taste and service. The food is super tasty, it is homely and not too oily. The service is quick, doesn’t take too long. The taste is super authentic which I really like! There are a lot of restaurants but the one’s serving food where meat is tender and tasty are few. I would highly recommend this.

Machan's Kitchen never disappoints. Its our 2nd time here and we tried their authentic pongal special meal and it was very delicious and hearty. Also, the service here is impeccable. The two service personnel Pandi and Jeevan were very attentive and polite. Its always a pleasure to eat at MK and we will definitely be back once again 👍🏼

OUTSTANDING CUISINE I’ve eaten Indian food around the world and Machan’s Kitchen is some of the best I’ve had best tasted. I’m currently sat with my mouth watering waiting for the butter chicken I’ve ordered. Everything I’ve had before has been surgery. Including the authentic drinks. UPDATE Never a bad one here. Went again last weekend and still outstanding. Hats off to these guys. The restaurant has a modern clean setup, more cafe style, and is ALWAYS busy. If you don’t want to wait outside in the heat, book ahead.

One of the best Tamil food in Singapore . 1. Must try the jeeraga samba biryani - The biryani was exceptionally good .. the meat was so tender and juicy .. the taste is authentic 2. Parota was so fluffy my kid liked it a lot .. 3. Chicken Lolly pop was so crispy outside and juicy inside .. it was so nice as well 4. Crab soup … it was like a breeze when we swallow .. the crab flavour was intense and authentic also a must try .. This is my first visit and whatever I tried it was exceptionally good . Also to note : the crew was so friendly and the service also on top notch .

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!. Location, taste, ambience, and whatever was simply excellent. We dined for dinner. Mutton briyani was worth for its light brownish color which is natural when mutton is cooked with rice. 'Nellai chilli chicken' was ultimate. Perfectly cooked juicy chicken pieces. 'Mutton kola urundai' was soft and fluffy. Mint chutney was good. The doodles on wall was interesting. We went on tuesday evening, and there was q. People who know the taste know its worth waiting!

The service is pleasant. Very unassuming dining area. We tried some of the food mentioned by others reviewers such as the crab soup, fried cauliflower, and mutton. Flavors are off. We also had a terrible shrimp dish, recommended by our server. Nice that some free dal was offered, but that also had an odd taste. I lived in South India for a year, and have eaten at many (hundreds?) of Indian restaurants. This may be the worst. Avoid.

I was craving the taste of seafood in Chennai and came here. Got my cravings satisfied! The dishes are REALLY spicy, authentic. I went for lowest level of spiciness but still found my self sniffling. All the gravy is so good and goes so well with white rice

1st visit on 4th week of Oct 2023. We were recommended by Indian friend to try the this restaurant. Actually craving for nasi briyani but when served, the taste totally different from North India briyani. It was spicy taste only, no fried onions and tumeric fragrance.. we cannot get use to it. Sorry to say only alacart rice cost $7.50, with only spicy taste, is not worth to eat. Other dishes, masala lady fingers and chicken tasted normal. Fish with mango sauce tasted so so, served with a inner hidden shallow container with only few pcs of fish meat also not worth to eat.. I think the only best dishes go to the 6 pcs grill prawns but pricy..

My 4th time here with friends. Recommended by a Indian colleague as a place for quality food. We like the spiciness and friendly service from the staff. You can have them to make recommendations if you do not know what to order.

We had never had Tamil food before so we decided to try it out for the first time at Machan's Kitchen. The curries were tasty, but the star was the cheese dosa. Omg, if it was the only thing I could eat for the rest of my life, I'd be happy. It was incredible! I found a South Indian restaurant in my hometown, but the dosa did not compare. 😩 The service was good as well. Our waiter was very attentive. When asked if we could use the restaurant's wifi, he disappeared for a bit, assuming to talk to the owner, and told us it was not available for guests. He was VERY apologetic and even offered us to connect to his hotspot. We were very thankful for the offer but politely declined. Overall, we had a great lunch.

The crab rasam was awesome. Delish vegetarian meals especially the spicy sour curry(Vatthe kolumbe). Must try. The pepper mutton, onion eggs and lollipops chicken was alright.

Being Korean, it was my first time visiting southern Indian cuisine. I was not sure what to order but waiter was very patient and kind to guide me and helped me order nicer food. Tried drum stick, fish curry , crab soup, banana thosai and pudding! They taste surprisingly good and easy to eat. Highly recommended to people who wish to try southern Indian food - especially to Korean who wish to visit Little India, Singapore.

Had a craving for South Indian food so I came here. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the little India area. The ample use of curry leaves and coconut in the curries really show that Indian food is more than just being spicy. Of course, if you would like a spicy kick, order the karaikudi chicken masala. The parottas, although they look small are filling and flaky. Overall a really good experience, friendly servers, quick service and delicious food.

Genuine Food, tasted very good and the variety was great. The interior design is pretty trendy and appealing. The staff wasn’t motivated but still friendly thus the service was mediocre.

Lovely, chilled atmosphere. Introduced by a Tamil friend whose family knows their South Indian food!! Kottu Paratha is apparently authentic and a star dish. Simple, delicious on banana leaf with a masala tea. Heavenly.

Just as the Picture..you will fall in love with their food....Delicious, Scrumptious, Tasty authentic flavour full food..wow..!!! Being a Madurai descendent .we love to eat...my taste buds were longing to try their authentic food for a long time ..after hearing their reviews...today was the D-Day Started with Lollipop Chicken , Dragon Chicken(Chinese New year special)..My kids loved it..the masala’s were just right..not spicy..so you can actually relish the food..the lollipop chicken crust was perfect not too thick not too thin..(cannot find this perfection in SINGAPORE anywhere else) Main course : We had their authentic seeraga sambha mutton dum biriyani..so many boneless pieces in small sizes as we dig in..very happy customer ..biriyani was full of flavour..a absolute winner..!!! and we had kongunadu chicken curry a unique taste..just yummy..!!! Will be a regular from now on..😍 Highly Recommended..!!!! The standout dish of the day was the kola urundai(fried meat balls) ..the crust was so thin and the meat was cooked to perfection..such that it dissolved in the mouth..Madurai Kaaranuku..this was being in heaven..hmm..!!! Note: you want your dishes a bit spicy..please let them when you order..

You can find a lot of Indian restaurants at Little India, Singapore, but this restaurant is unique. The Foods are different and unique that you can't find at other Restaurants. I had Jackfruit Briyani, and it was excellent. Not to forget Vege Kotthu Barotta(shredded flatbread), was soo good. Friendly staff. Cozy environment. A must go place.

Went for dinner on two separate weekend visits and each time the food never ceased to amaze. The briyani rice is so good to eat, even on its own. And one could never go wrong ordering the soft, flavourful Chutney Fish Roast. The dishes all tend to err more on the spicy/fiery side, so a word of caution to non-spice eaters. The sweet, cool, refreshing Panagam drink is perfect to wash down the heat of the dishes. Do not miss out on the coconut pudding/souffle which has a lovely thayir (yogurt) like taste and texture, to round off your meal. Kudos to the chef and team! Also Recommended: Moringa Rasam (Soup), Chutney Fish Roast, Mushroom Briyani, Pepper Mushroom Masala, Panagam (Beverage)

A hidden gem in Little India for authentic Tamil Food and my Tamil neighbor and friends brought us there for dinner. Their spice mix for the dishes are perfect for each dish and I love their pepper lamb and chicken very much that we ordered a second serving. Overall, it's a good Tamil food experience 👍
