'Eat
as
you
want,
Give
as
you
feel.'
It
used
to
be
located
in
Chinatown,
but
moved
to
OUE
Downtown
in
early
2023.
I
visited
the
Chinatown
location
twice
before,
around
2011
and
2012.
The
experiences
then
were
great.
The
restaurant
interior
was
a
little
dim,
but
it
was
spacious
enough
that
the
seating
area
and
the
buffet
queue
area
had
plenty
of
room
for
patrons
to
move
around
without
hindering
one
another.
Patrons
had
space
to
cut
into
any
part
of
the
buffet
area
and
get
what
they
want
instead
of
having
to
move
from
one
end
of
the
buffet
line
to
another,
needing
to
move
past
the
items
within
the
buffet
you'd
not
want.
They
used
to
serve
either
a
buffet
of
varied
vegetarian
dishes,
or
ala
carte
style
vegetarian
dishes.
They
served
drinks
by
the
order
and
had
lassi
back
then
-
I've
tried
their
sweet
lassi,
mango
lassi
and
orange
lassi
before.
The
host
tending
to
the
cashier
counter
was
an
elder
man
who's
friendly
and
enjoys
little
conversations
with
patrons
as
we
pay
as
we
feel.
We
don't
feel
pressured
at
all
in
any
way
to
pay
stipulated
amounts
or
whatnot.
Since
their
move
to
their
OUE
Downtown,
I
visited
twice,
in
March
2023
&
May
2023.
The
space
within
this
location
is
much
smaller,
though
the
interior
design
is
more
brightly
lit
and
refreshing.
The
restaurant
only
served
buffet
now,
as
they
have
a
separate
Annalakshmi
café
within
the
same
building
but
different
unit,
that
serves
ala
carte
style
vegetarian
dishes
but
has
a
fixed
price
tagged
to
each.
The
room
to
move
within
the
restaurant
now
is
less,
especially
the
buffet
area.
The
space
between
the
buffet
line
and
a
long
table
for
individual
diners
is
meagre.
Patrons
are
unable
to
get
near
the
buffet
to
take
a
look
at
the
dishes
first,
before
joining
the
queue
to
the
buffet
line.
We
now
have
to
move
through
from
the
end
of
the
queue
in
a
line
across
the
buffet
section
from
one
end
to
another,
even
if
you're
simply
taking
1
or
2
items
from
the
middle
section
of
the
buffet
line,
hence
it's
more
time-consuming
and
inconvenient.
There's
higher
risk
of
patrons
bumping
into
each
other
with
such
limited
space.
The
drinks
now
are
only
limited
to
water,
reconstituted
juice
and
buttermilk,
all
self-dispensed
from
drink
dispensers.
My
visit
on
24/5
came
with
an
unpleasant
remark
from
a
staff
tending
to
the
buffet
line.
I
went
for
second
serving
of
potato
masala,
which
the
2nd
batch
was
just
cooked
and
was
way
more
watery
than
the
1st
batch
I
has.
As
I
scooped
the
potato
masala
into
my
plate,
I
saw
curry
leaves
within
the
dish
which
I
love
eating
(which
to
many
patrons,
it's
just
a
garnish
or
flavourant
which
gets
disposed
off
after
cooking)
and
wanted
to
ensure
that
the
curry
leaves
are
scooped
up
alongside
the
potatoes,
so
I
pushed
the
ladle
near
to
the
wall
of
the
pot
while
scooping
up
to
ensure
that.
The
staff
then
critiqued
that
I
shouldn't
"drain
off
the
curry
gravy
&
just
take
the
potato"
in
the
process
of
dishing
out
the
potato
masala
(which
the
potato
cubes
were
a
little
undercooked
in
this
batch).
I
did
not
want
to
stoop
to
her
level
so
did
not
revert
back
verbally.
Anyway,
due
to
her
remark,
I
halved
the
amount
which
I
paid
from
previous
visits.
That's
my
way
of
reverting
to
her.
The
taste
of
food
wise
is
simple
Indian
vegetarian
fare
which
is
flavourful
but
not
overly
spicy,
so
the
low
spice
tolerant
would
be
able
to
handle.
The
dishes
change
often
so
you'd
get
to
expect
different
dishes
which
I
typically
wouldn't
be
exposed
to
if
not
for
dining
here.
