Uncle Louis Chicken Rice

Cafe Coffee shop Hawker stall

👍👍 Longest queue in this coffeeshop, beating Nana curry and XO fish. The white chicken is tender and the chilli and the soup are the bonuses. Remember to add in the ginger and the dark soya sauce to spice up to the next level. Standard is $4. Adding $2 will enjoy more meat. People often mention chicken, rice, soup, roasted, good, queue, char, stall, roast, coffeeshop,

There was a queue of more than 10 pax when we reached at about 11.45am. We queued for about 10min to 15min and ordered one plate of white chicken rice, one plate of roasted chicken rice and one plate of roasted chicken and char siew rice. Every plate came with soup. The rice was nice and fluffy. Chicken meat portion was relatively more than other average chicken stall and tasted normal. Char Siew is forgettable. The best was the tasty and flavorful soup. Overall, an OK plate of chicken rice enhanced by a good bowl of soup.

Hidden gem in a quiet neighbourhood. One of the best Chicken Rice I’ve tasted, and amazing chilli and minced garlic to go along with it. Feel free to ask the staff for a bigger bowl of soup, it’s not your typical soup, usually it’s either Lotus Root w/ Peanuts or Old Cucumber Soup.

I've finally managed to try this chicken rice with a seemingly never-ending queue. Saw only two steamed chicken as opposed to tons of roasted ones hung out, so we went with the roasted one naturally, together with roast pork and char siew. As it was my first visit, I did not know what to expect but the guy behind me ordered an extra plate of $5 char siew. When I took the first bite.... I regretted not ordering more char siew and roast pork... The chicken became secondary after.

Very good food at reasonable price. You can tell they are responsible hawker stall giving quality food. Tried their chicken rice. Because their meat, rice, soup and even the chill are well prepare to taste. 5 star to all individual items. Will surely return for more.

The uncle is very friendly and this is, holistically, the best chicken rice in Singapore to me. Rice is fragrant and flavourful, chicken whether roasted or boiled, is executed perfectly. The soup is also delicious. I feel the secret is the ginger and the chilli. The chilli I suspect contains some vinegar which adds a nice sour touch and the ginger paste along with the thick dark sauce complete the meal. This is where I bring my foreign friends when they ask where is the best chicken rice in Sg! Go uncle Louis!

Longest queue in this coffeeshop. If I were to come back here to queue again, it’s not because of their chicken rice but their daily soup, quite solid.

Average chicken rice to me. The chicken is tender and smooth, but the rice is dry and flaky.

The roasted chicken was super juicy and good! Rice is very fragrant and serving portion was good. The roasted duck wasn't too bad but probably a bit pricey. Will stick to the roasted chicken instead. Chilli was spicy and has good kick to it. Highly recommended chicken rice and this beats a lot of the famous chicken rice stalls across Singapore.

Delicious generous in terms of meat and free quality soups by uncle Louis. He is also very down to earth and friendly. Always pleasant and enjoyable eating experience at uncle Louis..

Forgot to take pic before eating, but nice rice and char siew and roasted pork, just that rice is too little, finished in 4-5 mins. The soup is nice

Really good for value stall. The charsiew is thick and juicy, the chicken tender and delicious. Comes with soup with stuffs rather than the usual plain soup. For comparison sake at this particular coffeeshop, it's service is top notch friendly compared to the obnoxious folks selling XO Bee Hoon that this coffeeshop is famous for. Highly recommend.

A nice find in a quiet Dover neighborhood. The Shao Rou is crispy and juicy, and the char Siew is succulent and tender. Moreover, instead of those generic soup you get at chicken rice stalls, you actually get nicely flavored peanut soup (with meat). The garlic chili, while spicy, is flavorful and not watery. They also do provide chopped/minced garlic as well. Would always come back if I’m in the vicinity.

The roast chicken rice is excellent and the soup is unique. They don't start selling until closer to 12 noon so don't come early. And it finishes by 4pm. Always a long line around noon time so be prepared. The line does go quickly.

One of my fav chicken rice. The chili and the free daily boiled soup are also delicious! Well worth a try. Gets very busy during lunch though.

Most popular stall in Dover with delicious steam chicken rice. Value for money and free self serving with the tasty ginger and chilli

The stall sell roast duck, chicken & pork belly. The roasted items has an aromatic herbal taste. Stall owner is a one man show as he prepare and roast everything by himself. The lady helped to serve the foods at counter only. The queue during lunch hour is quite long and may take more than half an hour. However the uncle is very humble and polite despite busy preparing and chopping the roasted duck, chicken and pork belly during peak hour. The soup is free and nice to pair with the roasted rice set. The stall usually closed by 6pm daily and Tuesday.

Value for money chicken rice with good portion of chicken. The soup is not the normal chicken soup, taste like lotus root with celery. Nice!

Uncle Louis Chicken and Duck Rice is undoubtedly a gem in the Ghim Moh Community. Personally, I have made it a weekly tradition to indulge in their dishes. The taste is so exceptional that it has set a new standard for my taste buds. I doubt if I will ever come across roasted chicken or duck rice that can surpass the quality of Uncle Louis's. If you want to avoid the queue, try visiting around 2 p.m. and be sure to arrive before 4:30 p.m. You won't regret it!

Non descript stall. One of the better chicken rice stalls I've tasted. Better then ghim moh market. Roasted Pork is good and their free soup is very decent. Tried both steam and roasted chicken both equally good in my opinion, thou the steam chicken will sell out first.

Located in Dover Crescent Blk 19A coffeeshop. Love their chicken rice and roast meats. Only down side to note is the coffeeshop has quite limited seating space.

The rice was great - moist and a lot of chicken fat flavour. The roast duck was not bad and was boneless. The flavour of the char siew was ok but it was a little tough.

😐 This is ecstatically the best looking amongst the PS Cafes. They have a good selection of food and beverages that some might consider pricey. But their cakes and deserts are very good. It’s a great place to chill in the afternoons and also good for sundowners after a long day. It’s always a pleas...
