I have stayed at this hotel many nights (50+) and typically say it’s okay to good, but not so much anymore. I continue to have AC issues ( a couple rooms) which keep you awake during the evening with loud noises and recently random doorbell failures through the evenings interrupting sleep all through the night. As a lifetime platinum elite member I was amazed at the complete lack of respect for any complaints and failure to address customer issues. The comment I continued to receive from front desk was it’s an older building with issues, yet they continue to charge a significant amount then for an older hotel with known issues that keep you awake. You go to a hotel to sleep, not lay awake with mechanical noise issues. Recently I had 5 straight nights ( 2 rooms) with either AC or doorbell issues interrupting sleep and they refused to respond to any emails to address the issue. When I emailed corporate after several no-responses they opened/closed the ticket in 24 hours with no response other than the hotel would contact me…. Which never happened. I spent approximately $3000 for those 5 nights of terrible interrupted sleeps, and they won’t even respond to address it. The issues were legit as they replaced parts in the AC and doorbell over the days to fix the issues. However this created another problem that I was unable to come back for a nap to catch up on sleep as they were working on my room every time I tried. Overall, based on last few stays here I would say there are now better places and especially at that rate. Location is good, but hotel seems to have known issues and they refuse to discuss it with customers.

Highly recommend this conveniently located Marriott. Coming off the longest flight on earth, literally, I wasn’t expecting my hotel room to be ready at 6:40 AM. I had provided my flight information when I booked and when I walked up to the reservation desk before 7am I was beyond shocked when they told me they were expecting me and my room was ready. The kind staff shared that since they knew I was coming on an early flight they had prepared my room in advance. Talk about customer service. My eight day stay was flawless. I had complementary truffles in my room one night as a thank you for my stay. I really appreciated the ample supply of toiletries, dental kits, shaving kits, Q-tips, even a hairband that were replaced daily. The shower was wonderful and had a built in bench, a very convenient feature that is rarely in hotels. The beds were comfortable. I ate at the restaurant one evening and for one breakfast buffet. Both were fine, and the staff took pride in their food, but it is a bit pricey. For the rest of my trip I chose to go get croissants at a local bakery next door and try other establishments on Orchard Road. On one of my last nights in Singapore, I realized there was the secret bar off the main lobby and had some great cocktails there. This was a great base for my first trip to Asia and I’m so appreciative to the staff at the Marriott for making it a lovely stay.

Love this property! The location is great and centralized, the service was impeccable. Breakfast was delicious, as was the afternoon pastry and happy hour cocktails. The property has a nice pool overlooking ION. Rooms are clean. 10/10 would recommend.

It's the hotel you'll book again. The hotel has an impressive lounge, a fantastic pool, friendly and helpful staff. And is superbly located! With the hotel aside, you're in the centre of it all. The zoo, universal, high-end shops, great food, train station, cabs, airport. Other guests are quiet and keep to themselves. The overall experience here was very comfortable and relaxing. Downside is the mclub, something to be desired. We did ask for a roll-away bed for our 6yr old and they provided it free of charge. Very happy. Marina Bay Sands is an experience and worth doing as we've done these hotels both, but the Marriott Tang is the one we'd come back to if ever in Singapore again. Thank you.

The location is great. Its smack in the middle of a lot of malls. Very walkable for shopping. Also close to the trains. Taxi is not hard to get. The hotel lobby is pretty busy though. I wished they had a halal section for the breakfast buffet. That would make me stay here more often. One problem that I encountered was a dirty toilet upon checkin. But the staff rectified that quickly when I called reception. Kudos for taking care of the issue promptly.

Awesome hotel in the middle of Orchard Rd. Easy access to everything including the classic CK Tang mall which is connected to it, the subway line which has a station right in front, and of course Orchard Road itself. Service is impeccable and rooms are modern, clean and well apportioned. Love the staff who are all very friendly and always willing to please. Can’t wait to come back!

Went for the high tea with a few friends. Will say that the food items were quite good for some of it. But the rest appears to be average. Service wise, it was adequate and prompt. However at times, it feels quite rushed by the staff. They were polite though througout.

I stayed at Marriott Tang Plaza for 3 nights. Overall, our stay was pretty good. The location is great. Our room was spacious and clean, but definitely dated. Housekeeping was diligent (refreshing our room, replacing water bottles, etc.). I really did not like the detergent used on the sheets, pillowcases - it smelled very strongly. The lounge was nice, but food options were limited. I found breakfast foods at Crossroads very mediocre and bland. This was disappointing. The pool looked lovely, but we did not have an opportunity to use it. Stayed November 2023.

My sleep was interrupted two nights in a row due to emergency floodlights turning on in the room during a planned power outage lasting several hours. Very bright lights. Front desk staff brushed off my politely worded complaint during checkout and I won’t be coming back here ever again. During the night, the electrician staff came at my request (it took 30-45 min to arrive each time) and they hid the flood lights above the ceiling so I could sleep. The first night was frustrating but they assured me it wouldn’t happen the second night, but the second night was just as bad when other lights connected to a different emergency circuit turned on. I lost more than an hour of sleep each night for two nights in a row while in town for business. I wish the hotel was more honest about the planned power outage and informed me via email in the week leading up to departure rather than handing me a note about it during checkin. Nowhere did the note say my room would be lit up with floodlights. Around 3am when the power was restored I was treated to the tv turning itself on as if I were first arriving for the day. The gym is fine except there is no AC. I’m not used to working out in high temps so felt let down by this amenity. The club lounge was overcrowded at peak times and I couldn’t find a seat at first. I originally picked this hotel for the lounge which was alright other than the overcrowding.

One of the iconic hotels in Singapore based on the junction of Orchard and Scotts road. Has a great Crossroads cafe at its entrance with very good food. Rooms are nice and restaurants are all very good quality. Has been one of the oldest hotels in Singapore and boasts of one of the best locations in town. Lot of restaurants and food courts nearby and several department stores too.

I am really impressed with the service and food here. Two employees Ellen and Avizul are very enthusiastic and always care about customers' feelings. The cakes are delicious, they taste just right. The tea here has a special taste and impresses me. The restaurant is very clean and airy. I appreciate the service and space here

Service is top class from the front desk, housekeeping, club lounge, to the different F&B outlets. The staff were v attentive. Special thanks to Aizrul from JAVA Lobby Lounge. Stayed at the King Suite. V well maintained. Love the sofa and the huge TVs. Comfortable bed. Pillows are way too soft. I asked for the latex pillows. Took a star off cos i didn't sleep well with the soft, low pillows. Breakfast spread at the Club Lounge was reasonable. Much more quiet setting than the first floor. Enjoyed breakfast with a pool view. Overall an enjoyable stay. I would go back again.

Firstly, I was disappointed with the lack of attentiveness at the door. After calling the bellboy multiple times, he finally responded, showing minimal interest and barely acknowledging our comments about the luggage. This is not the level of service one expects when arriving at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. Upon entering the lobby, the atmosphere felt more like a bustling marketplace than the refined setting I've come to associate with your international brand. This was both surprising and disappointing. Adding to the inconvenience was the long and inefficient check-in process. For a brand that emphasizes quality customer service, the wait time was unacceptable. Regarding our room, I was startled when staff entered, within an hour of check-in, to spray the shower with a substance I presume was pest control. This is a task that should have been completed well before any guest's arrival, especially given that our check-in time was standard. Lastly, the air conditioning in the room was inoperative, adding significant discomfort to our stay. For a hotel of this caliber, basic amenities like working air conditioning are non-negotiable. As a long-standing member of the Marriott Bonvoy program, this experience was an utter disappointment and falls far short of the high standards I've come to expect from your hotels.

Stayed for 1 night in August 2022 in one of the pool terrace rooms. Pros: - Gorgeous room, Bali vibes, really nice bathtub, direct pool access, same floor as club lounge, cabana right outside the room - Special shoutout: Ms Angie at the check in counter was extremely friendly and helpful and started my staycay on a great note! Much thanks to her for fulfilling my many little requests and really helping to make my stay amazing! Also thanks to Mr Razak who helped with my bags and sheltered me with an umbrella for the poolside walk to get to the room as it was raining slightly. - Hotel nicely provided a little birthday cake for the occasion - Club lounge had a good selection of food and drinks - Very convenient location Cons: - Lukewarm service at the Club Lounge. Upon entering, we were not ushered to any table or informed about where we can get our tea/coffee etc. Staff were walking around somewhat aimlessly. We ended up just asking them if we could help ourselves to the tea/coffee (which we could). Strangely, the staff were rather attentive to a few others in the lounge. Service later warmed up a bit when a nice lady came over to take our drinks orders. - Small blooper at the breakfast buffet where the staff somehow left another person's used cup on my table, probably a minor mix-up but slightly strange nevertheless. Overall stay was above average and a great experience! If only service at the lounge could be slightly warmer, that would truly elevate the experience!

What an Amazing Hotel and an AMAZING STAFF that always went above and beyond! The M-Club host & hostess were also quite amazing, taking great care of us anytime we were in the Lounge, had a question, or needed directions or a reservation! The Hotel has a great location in the Tang Plaza, close to all modes of public transportation, and even any possible shopping that one could imagine!

Stayed 11 days in this hotel for medical check ups. Walking distance to Mount Elizabeth Orchard. The hotel is a little older but well maintained. The room is very comfortable on the 28th floor. Breakfast was great with a variety of choices every other day. Service was top notch and friendly. Road noise on the 28th floor was none existent. 4 high speed elevators were servicing all floors and the waiting time was very minimal. It's also a great central spot to shopping access and a multitude of restaurants surrounding you. Thank you Marriott Tangs for the great stay.

Superb service. After 15 hours long flight, I arrived at Changi 6AM. We were tired, had some foods and took a Grab Taxi to the hotel. The front desk was so kind to let us check-in both rooms at 9AM.

I am writing this review on behalf of my husband, a Marriott Ambassador Elite member. We stayed there in June and really enjoyed our stay there with the room upgrade n lounge use and excellent food and service. We like the hotel so much and made another reservation this September. One day before arrival, we wrote to Ms Angie Lee, the Front Office Manager, requesting for a very early check in for the second guest. We appreciated her quick and helpful response and besides extending the early check-in, a room upgrade n late checkout was also extended. We would like to commend Angie and her team for all the arrangements, the seamless check-in and making us feel valued as an Ambassador member. Breakfast at Crossroads cafe was excellent. Service from restaurants to housekeeping was great. We will definitely love to stay here again on our next trip to Singapore.

Another Mariott, which is very nicely located, basically in the middle of the shopping paradise of singapore… the rooms are ok. Aircon too loud to keep it on during the night, from my point of view. The breakfast is nice but lots of people. The Gym is well equipped but the space is a bit limited. Reception staff is very nice and welcoming Although the rest of the hotel staff. Would I come again?

I'm a regular patron of this hotel's restaurants but had a very bad experience with the operation of the carpark last night. The front desk & concierge couldn't advise the correct location of the carpark top up machine and I was advised that it was at the exit location. Upon driving to the exit gantry, the signboard mentioned it is at the entrance !! It was really a big disaster having to leave the car at the exit gantry blocking the cars behind while running to the far away entrance and to find out that the top up machine there actually not working !!! And the worse was that the "help" button at the exit gantry also not working!!!! What kind of hospitality management is this hotel ? If not for the help from the car right behind me to exit with her card, I couldn't imagine the stress and inconvenience caused to those cars lining behind my car waiting to exit this building. I hope the hotel management will look into the logistics planning of carpark cash card machine to help patrons with peace of mind.

Great hotel, service from the staff when guests have requests could be a bit better, but overall good experience here. I stayed in one of the suites during my trip and I must say that it’s quite spacious and comfortably set up. It’s also conveniently located within walking distance of public transport stops.

I have escalated the loud talking noise outside our room, yelling outside in corridor , knocking on doors and shouting inside to tell that person to open the door ; several times but could not get it resolved for over hour. Now is 1 am, my child wake up due to the noise and I have a very important meeting tomorrow morning . The club lounge don’t allow child under 12 years old to enter , as what they say it’s a “business lounge” if so business Traveller who enter in the lounge can get “quiet tines” but those business travellers trying to get good rest before a business meeting cannot get “quiet night “.. the room door is too close to each other .. business Traveller beware of this …

Impressive response to our complaint. Staying in Pool Terrace room, we were woken up at about 4:00 am by next-door neighbors. After informing staff, they were quick to respond and provided us with complimentary snacks during breakfast. This response is what makes a great difference in the service of a hotel. Please convey our appreciation to your staff, Leo, at the Crossroads Cafe who hear about our problem and brought it to the attention of your staff. Thank you for your help.

I had a good stay for a night. The check in was smooth and the waiting time was minimal. Casper checked in for us, he was friendly and was really patience with my questions. Plus point was he’s very child friendly too! My boys were delighted to interact with him. He’s a keeper! Room and bathroom were of decent size! The pool water can be quite chilly even on midday but it’s ok because the kids still had a blast!

Great location in a well maintained hotel. Great status recognition. It may not be within the luxury tier in the spectrum, but it is is close. I actually like this hotel more than the St Regis and Ritz Carlton in Singapore. A lot has to do with expectation. People expect a lot more from those 2 hotels and they can very easily under-deliver sometimes. But this marriott, definitely exceeded my expectation. I came in not thinking its gonna be a nice hotel because its quite an old building, but its actually very well maintained. Breakfast was great. I also happened to book my stay here earlier so i got a good price, so even better for me. if u can get a good price from this hotel, do it. Everything is fine here. Also special thanks to front desk manager Angie for helping me find the room i want, its a busy season, so i very much appreciate your help! I will return to this hotel whenever im in singapore. Its right in the middle of Orchard road by the train station

Went there for lunch on 6 October 2022. Quite a good buffet spread but the roast was really rare - very red and bloody so I passed this by. Guess some people like it that way! Desserts were good and the service was very good and waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful.

While the place is nice and feel luxurious, the service is quite underwhelming. You have to follow up several times if you’ve made a request to the housekeeping (eg: refilling the shampoo or extra slippers, etc). It was also the first time we’ve had an unpleasant experience when checking the availability of late checkout — while I understand that it’s subject to availability, the answer of the staffs were quite inconsistent. They’ll promise a callback, but then you have to follow up again. The staffs seemed uninformed as well regarding the structure of the property. We asked a staff as to where is the nearest changing room in the pool area, and we were informed that we have to go on a lower floor, only to find out that it’s just within the level of the pool. Overall, this is the lousiest experience I’ve had among the Marriott-branded hotels in Singapore.

Our stay with marriot Tang Plaza was superb , the checkin was smooth and efficient, Joyce is warm and welcoming so as the male staff next to her , he passed us bottled water while Joyce was checking our info, the gesture was thoughtful. The housekeeping was efficient and cheerful, credit to them ! The room, lobby are perfect. Location is very very good . Easy access to everywhere !

This place is the best place to stay, especially if you’re staying for longer than a week. The staff is amazing, the breakfast buffet has the best food, from all around the world it seems. The rooms & bathrooms are very spacious & clean.

Our stay at the Marriott Tang plaza hotel was amazing. The hotel is clean, staff are super friendly and accommodating, and the hotel is conveniently located on Orchard road with many access to food, shopping, and various activities (Christmas season lights). We love the complimentary breakfast and the M club lounge access, those were pluses for us. Overall, we had a great time staying at the Singapore Marriott Tang plaza, would come back to stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Singapore

They Greeted Us with fresh flowers at the lobby. Room is spacious with work desk, and there is dressing table in the toilet. There is swimming pool,a basketball half court and gym. Food at the hotel cafe is awesome too, enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffet. Five stars standard indeed! Best wishes from me to Marriott Team.

Loved the experience. Hotel is right in the center of the best places in the city. Very clean, attentive staff and very good selection of foods in their buffet. Mr. Faisal from lobby did a great job of taking care of me. Kudos to everyone on the staff team

This Marriott property has an excellent location, on Orchard Road in the most shopping mall-dense area of Singapore. It will be hard to find more luxury stores per square kilometer anywhere in the world. The property is relatively old, and the price is high due to the location. You can find newer and more luxurious accommodation at the same price elsewhere in Singapore. Next time we will opt for a hotel that is better maintained and modern. We suspect this property doesn‘t have many repeat customers due to its age and lack of upkeep/modernization. The lobby is quite large and nicely maintained, but extremely warm. The air condition seems to be malfunctioning in the entire lobby/restaurant area. The restaurant has large air blowers scattered throughout in an attempt to cool the area - but it doesn‘t work. If you are going to a business meeting in the morning you are best advised to wear shorts and a t-shirt for breakfast, and then head back up to the room and change. We asked about the lack of air condition, and were not given very clear answers. It appears the solution with blowers in the restaurant are permanent. The lobby features a cafe with very good coffee, and it serves afternoon tea most days. We didn‘t try this because of the uncomfortable heat in the lobby area. The standard rooms are of average size, and the air condition works well. The beds are not the most comfortable we have experienced at other Marriott properties or other hotels in this price level. The bathrooms are relatively spacious, but very old. There is very little space to put toiletries around the sink - if you are two in the room the space is insufficient. The toilets don‘t even have integrated bides, which is very unusual in Singapore and Asia. The cleaning of the rooms was okay, but not great. The rooms feature the normal amenities for a hotel in this price category, i.e. slippers and bath robes. We had to call for a new ironing board as the one in our room was broken. There are several restaurants in the hotel or nearby, and the Chinese and Japanese restaurants are very good. The Japanese restaurant is under separate management so you need to reserve a table on your own. The Chinese hotel restaurant can be reserved through the reception, or simply call or go to the third floor and make a reservation. The buffet restaurant in the lobby is also very good, and in particular the seafood. The price for the buffet is high, but it features all you-can-eat lobster, steak, and various other dishes. For a business hotel, the Marriott Tang is sub-standard. If you are a tourist and enjoy shopping, the location is excellent - but that‘s about it. Location: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Upkeep/facilities: 2/5 Rooms: 2/5 Restaurants: 3/5 Staff: 4/5 Price/quality: 1/5 (way too pricey for this level of quality)

The room itself was spacious and luxurious, with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the high-quality linens and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was also impressive, with a large shower and luxurious toiletries that made me feel pampered.

I did not know what to expect when I booked this hotel. This was our first time in Singapore. We really lucked out since the location was amazing. There was so much within walking distance. We didn't even see a third of it. Quick Grab rides meant we were even closer to other options. We almost used the MRT, which has a station right outside the door, but we were there such a short time, I didn't want the hassle. We didn't eat any food in the hotel, but the Crossroads cafe seemed to be bustling. Several good nearby breakfast places meant I'd rather get out and explore. There are also some inexpensive souvenir shops nearby, plus inexpensive everything else. I think that must be a place that people shop to take things to sell other locations because everything was labeled as buy more get a huge discount. Sometimes the discount was so steep that it was the same price to get 5 as to get 2.

A very iconic hotel that has been renovated. Very centrally located with lots of shopping malls within walking distance, and the best parts is that it is connected through underground walkways to several shopping malls, hence no worry if it is raining.

Have been visiting Marriott Tang Plaza since 2012. I have stayed here during all my Singapore visits thrice in 2012, twice in 2015, 2016 and 2018. I have also been a Marriott bonvoy member. This was the first time I was visiting after pandemic and was absolutely thrilled about my stay. I was so wrong. What a dissatisfying experience. My mother who is an insulin dependent diabetic senior citizen and I had a terrible flight which was super turbulent and reached around 7:10am and wanted to check in immediately because my mother wanted to rest hence I asked for a room only to be told like a mechanical robot that all rooms will be available only after 3 pm ( hotel policy and all ). When I offered to pay extra - the front desk staff tried to rip me off by offering me only pool terrace rooms or suites which I understood they were offering to see whether I splurge on a room for 4-5 hours. Finally they gave us a special room allocated for differently able people 614 after much debate approx around 10:15 am. Now we were just glad to crash in the room. The room bathroom is terrible especially when someone showers, the entire room gets flooded! The bathroom door is faulty and keeps opening and closing at it’s own sweet whim ( straight out of a Harry Potter movie ) during our entire 4 night stay, the bathroom door opened and closed at its own whim. But I wanted to keep my interaction with the hotel staff as minimal as possible because I was on a holiday and didn’t want to ruin my mood by speaking to the terrible front desk staff who needs to get a course done in hospitality training. Just imagine paying approx. $450++ for a room and dreading the idea of speaking to hotel staff of your discomfort. The in room dining staff and front desk staff are terrible. I will repeat they are terrible. I wanted to write this review from the hotel itself, but my Mother asked me not to spoil my mood and my stay. They lack warmth and don’t make you feel welcome. It’s like as if they are doing you a gigantic favour by making you stay in their outdated rooms. I just hated my stay this time, but upon check in they took the entire $1800++ hence I couldn’t check out. Or else I would have surely gone somewhere else. The best thing about this hotel has to be their location. I don’t know who is in charge of the hotel management and why have the staff become so hostile and rude. Maybe they are taking their customers for granted because of their location? I ain’t coming back to this hell hole - dated rooms, bad impolite staff. You name it they have it. The day when we were checking out instead of 12 I wanted to stay for another hour only to be told their mechanical lies about full occupancy. At the bell desk it was written 92% occupancy 😝 I have hated my stay and I didn’t speak to any of the staff not to ruin my holiday. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel where I have been coming since 2012 anymore. The hotel sucks and so does it management. They have attitude issues for sure. I am sure they will ask their guests to write an email and apologise half heartedly and carry on with their terrible services ! Enter at your own risk

Very central location in Orchard Road, main shopping strip in Singapore. Near MRT subway to go anywhere in Singapore. Hotel always seems to be full with lots of tourists. Breakfast restaurant crowded in the morning. Fortunately, room has good soundproofing from noise in corridor.

This is for their restaurant. The one outside. Terrible service. The waiter noticing we were Indians tried to give us a lousy table at the back, giving the better one to his friend who was behind me in the queue. I’m a Titanium Elite member. The drinks (just two) and fries took a long time. I noticed his friend got his order before us.
