    - Breakfast menu was very poor and the timing was very minimal and short. Too rushing. We come for a staycation to stay away from our daily busy and rushing lifestyle to relax but we were simply rushing for breakfast and also in the queue to get our food. - Chef was very rude in service and always rushing us when we queued for our food. The rest of the staffs were very polite, friendly and helpful. But this particular Restaurant Chef barged in when the the serving staff was serving us and rushed to get our orders to clear the line when the line wasn't even crowded or any queue. It was in fact around 8am and not much crowd in the restaurant. Room and bed has so much of 'Kamitetep' insect(Google it to find out about it). My whole family was bitten and with red marks on our body. - Rooms carpet flooring had a very bad odour and stale smell. Anything we placed on the floor has the stench of the carpet. - I was informed of the swimming pool closure only after my booking was made and prepayment was done. I wasn't able to cancel the booking as the rates were lower compared to the 'Free Cancellation' rooms. - When I booked, I wasn't informed of 'Self-Isolation' individuals staying in the hotel or otherwise I wouldn't have proceed as I have two young kids without any vaccination staying with us. It would be good to be transparent upfront so that if we book knowing such, we can be responsible enough if we ever contracted Covid. We literally stayed inside our room and never used any facilities(infact there wasn't any facilities for us to use).

I booked 2 nights for my staycation at Royal Plaza on Scotts Singapore. My honest hotel experience here is VERY disappointedโ€ฆ I understood due to COVID safe measurements, there is no guests allowed, and gym and swimming pool are closed until the further notice. However, I didn't expect a hotel that didn't offer any housekeeping services. I request a housekeeping service because it seems no one did housekeeping while I go outside for shopping. When I call receptionist around 9pm, the reception girl informed me that there is no house keepers in this hotel.. If you do not provide any housekeeping services at hotel, how do you maintain cleanness and good hygiene at hotel? On top of this, I would like to highlight poor customers service at Carousel as well. I understood there are lots of visitors over the weekends, but the selection of food is VERY limited, and the servers were not friendly and helpful at all.. I only managed to get a omelette, a piece of pancake (no syrup provided), a piece of croissant and hot latte. The overall experience in this hotel was not satisfactory, and it doesnโ€™t worth it to pay $600 plus with unprofessional customer services. I DO NOT recommend this hotel, and I will not come back here again.

I recently visited this resort. It is a very nice place. Rooms are clean with good basic facilities available. The staff's behavior is very nice and polite. The ambience is good. I highly recommend to my friends and relatives to visit this place. This place is a memorable moment for everyone.

This is my first time staying in a hotel that never picks up their reception/room service call. Calling for them to pick up the laundry in the morning - did not pick up, went to the lobby in the evening, they said they'll come and pick up - did not come also. That night around 9PM then we went to the lobby again, and then they showed up. Call for housekeeping/room service also never picks up. Probably better if they put notes next to the phone: THIS PHONE IS FOR DECORATION ONLY!

Booked 3D2N at this hotel, I was told that there will not be housekeeping for the stay and I was told that if I need any housekeeping I still can asked for it when Iโ€™ve ask for clearing the rubbish and yes they do clear it! They clear the room bin but the pizza box that Iโ€™ve put beside the bin and when I came back from shopping the box is still there! The worst part is they clear the room bin but the TOILET bin they just leave it untouched without clearing it! The TV channel is the best part maybe about 20 over channel 80% is either news or Indonesia channel, what we can watch is only ch5 or ch U!

This look like an old hotel that being renew. For inside room is clean, neat. Service is good. Tge location is also very near from ion orchard. The problem is you cant accessing to orchard road using wheel chair. There are bridge but using escalator. And have underpass but using both stair and escalator, no elevator. But the breakfast choice and taste quite good.

I have been coming to this hotel the last 15 years but unfortunately the standards have massively dropped and my visit in October 2022 will be my last. The buffet breakfast has hugely reduced in choice, no club floor/lounge, no acknowledgement for the birthday we were celebrating - despite informing staff of the occasion when we booked, the toiletries are poor (shampoo/conditioner combined - is this a 2 star?), poorer cleanliness in the rooms and the worst thing - no concierge at the front anymore! Just trollies to wheel your own bag in to the hotel (like a pleb) and also without the concierge, we had difficulty hailing a cab. I love the location of Royal Plaza but unfortunately the price of the hotel no longer meets the service that is received, therefore I will be trying a neighbouring hotel at my next visit. Extremely disappointed and from a loyal customer.

I would like to commend the staff of this hotel for a very pleasant ten day stay. The staff at the reception was helpful and polite. Housekeeping was prompt in getting me what I needed whenever I called. Housekeeping is done every other day. While itโ€™s not standard procedure to change the sheets every time, it will be done upon request. The chambermaids were also friendly. For me, the buffet breakfast did offer enough variety for me although I hope they will offer plant based milk as an option as Iโ€™m allergic to milk. In all, it has been a very pleasant stay here and I did not experience the bad service that the other reviewers experienced. A big thank you to all the staff who made my stay such a pleasant one!

Excellent location, at the busy Orchard Road and Scotts Road. Though a more than 40 years old property, the impressive lobby certainly does not show its age! As an old hotel, a Deluxe Room size at 32 sq metre is considered roomy at today's costly hotel scenes! Rooms have been refurbished and able to stand out combining with its size!

Location was good the hotel was located in Orchard with tons of food around. Room was clean and well maintained. It was spacious enough for the price. Front desk and service was fantastic and helpful. The room came with breakfast as well which is a plus. However the swimming pool was closed for maintenance which was unfortunate and the pillow does not really support ur neck so prepare to have neck aches. Conclusion: Overall the you cannot go wrong with booking a room here. It will be clean and well maintained. Definitely will have a pleasant stay for anyone if they bring their own pillow.

Me and my partner stayed there for three days, we got free breakfast. To be honest for a 5 star hotel the breakfast is disappointing.... Everyday was the same food. And we can even remember where it is placed, is always rice, noodles, cabbage with carrots, hashbown, sausage, baked beans and spinach... There is not much choices as well... Everyday is the same things... They should try to do something different.. The room is not that big. And there was not much things in the room for us.. Nothing special really...

Perfect location to stroll around Orchard. Rooms are a bit aged. I usually enjoy Spotify in the mornings but no Bluetooth speaker in room. Location is strategic with loads of shopping and food places nearby. The MRT is less than 5mins away. There is a bus stop right in front !

Good: Rooms are large and clean. Wifi service is good enough to stream Netflix on my laptop and is reliable. Bad: The food was terrible (I was in quarantine and the food was apparently prepared by Carousel, the hotel's buffet restaurant).

We had the Boxing Day โ€˜21 lunch Buffet yesterday and was rather disappointed with the limited selection of food on display considering it is the festive period. Appetisers like cheeses, olives, crackers, Nanโ€™s, choices of breads etc and nuts was literally non existent. Even the Indian counter had a poor selection. The staff pushed a dessert trolly but missed some of the local delights such as the green beans dessert. The ice cream selection was halved with the basics like the chocolate flavour missing and no toppings at all; the wide array of desserts was missing! Carousel buffet is generally outstanding compared to their nearby competitors but on this occasion they fell short of their normal standards particularly for vegetarians which is a pity!

Staycation here for several times as location is great for shopping. ION,takashimaya,Tangs is just nearby. Stayed last 28 oct to celebrate hubby's bday. Received a warmed oversized cookie and it was delicious. Upgraded our room with a bathtub and we appreciate the gesture of the staff at reception. Breakfast is good. Lots of varieties of food. Carousel is a halal resto. So no bacon.hotel has a swimming pool and a gym which open until 10pm. Bed is huge and beddings is very compy with 4 pillows which we like. Waterheater is nice too. What we love the most tv hAve lots of channels to watch.

Royal Plaza has been an exceptional place to visit and have a wonderful experience. We had a wedding reception there. Many of the few places you can secure as a wedding venue in Singapore. Anyone wants to have a memorable wedding venue to commemorate then Royal plaza is the place to be. And surprisingly there is a buffet on the ground floor to dining and is open but with two people per table. Have a safe experience.:)

Love everything about this hotel. They allowed us to early check in, and they upgraded our room since we are the Prefer member. The room was convenient with bathtub, the breakfast were so delightful, and you can't complain about their services... everything is excellent.

I just checked in for 5 nights, and the room is very convenient. The receptionist, namely Monika, was providing real hotel hospitality. The check-in process was very fast and she was very kind in arranging my room. I believe will have great experience during my holiday stays here with family and surely will check in again to this hotel for my next visit..

I recently stayed at your property and I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience I had. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. Firstly, the staff at the front desk were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They provided me with all the information I needed about the hotel and the surrounding area, and were always available to answer any questions I had. The room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed to make my stay enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were soft and luxurious. I also appreciated the fact that the room was equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave, which made it easy for me to prepare my own meals. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet. The variety of options was impressive, and everything I tried was delicious. I also appreciated the fact that there were healthy options available, such as fresh fruit and yogurt. The hotel's location was also very convenient. It was easy to get around using the nearby public transportation, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at Hilton Garden Inn Singapore Serangoon, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel in Singapore. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

The location is great, right in the center. The hotel's lobby seems nice. But the rooms were not clean as they should. The breakfast doesn't have many options, especially for those who don't eat meat in the morning or at all. There are no salads, only 2-3 vegetables. The reception doesn't answer quickly. the gym air conditioning is poor.

Each time we come to Singapore, we have stayed here. Some rooms were nice and some rooms were older. Service is great. Very friendly, very generous. The location was perfect for us as it is walking distance to shopping and eating and transport

The hotel is located near the shopping belt and public transit. However, it is clear that the service standards have dropped - check in took almost an hour, no staff on standby to pick up the phone at the concierge or housekeeping. The rooms also definitely need an upgrade to stay competitive, neighbouring hotels have nespresso machines and stocked minibars. The TV does not have a variety of international news and sports offerings. There are definitely better choices in the Orchard area for the next trip.

Stayed there during my 14-day SHN. Not only was the staff extremely nice and helpful, but the management of the hotel has thought of every detail in order to make this isolation bearable ! The rooms were clean and nice, food was coming at regular hours, they put all the necessities weโ€™d need for even more than 14 days, and they also allowed food to be delivered from nearby restaurants, which, according to friends, some other SHN hotels didnโ€™t allow.

  • 4/5 Sarah S. 2 years ago on Google
Went there for high tea (3-5pm). Highly recommend the wantons, laksa, nasi ambeng & rendang pasta for mains. Not much variety for seafood since high tea session. For desserts, the bread pudding is always a must try! There are waffles too that you can eat with the ice cream. The chocolate pudding is worth trying as well for chocolate lovers. The staffs were very friendly and accommodating. There is ongoing 15% off promotion for certain banks so it is very worth it ~$48/pax after gst & service charge.

The staffs at Royal Plaza on Scotts are very helpful and friendly. I had a very pleasant stay for my 14 days quarantine there. I'd like to thank their Guest Services Assistant Manager Dragon Chua. After the quarantine, I lost the invoices. I emailed them today, and they responded within hours!

I'm here for SHN. Overall is great. Just one thing I'm not satisfied that the meal is delivered too early. For example, the schedule stated that the meal will provided at 6 pm, but the staff provided it around 5.35 pm. T^T

Great service and rooms are spacious. King bed was comfy and the rain-fall shower was great. Location is awesome and orchard just around the corner. Room service was very good, even though current COVID restrictions required takeout dishes and cutlery.

  • 4/5 Robin L. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, very central and close to public transport and many, many malls. We were warned about the pool not being available. Thatโ€™s cool, that can happen. However, for the four nights we staid, only 2 times roomservice available? That meaning we only had roomservice once, as the second time was on exit day. Making up your own bed is not a great hassle, however the bathroom was. For a FIVE star hotel and FIVE star prices quite disappointing. As was the breakfast. Wide choice, but so so. If you get a great special offer, go for it. If you pay the full FIVE star prices, look somewhere else. The staff was great, polite and helpful, which made thinks better quite a bit.

Location is great in orchard. But unfortunately due to the pandemic, service has been cut back and is really lacking at the hotel. Room was not cleaned, staff is very limited, there was nobody at the concierge to help us with the bags. Essentially we are just paying for room and location, which in retrospect became expensive. There are better options around the area.

  • 2/5 Stephanie T. 1 year ago on Google
The room was spacious, loves it. But the breakfast had lowered their standard by a lot. The eggs are cold , sausages are dry and the hash browns are stone hard. This hotelโ€™s breakfast used to be my favorite ๐Ÿ˜ขSo sad to see my favorite hotel changed so much over the years. Hope they will upgrade their breakfast standard asap .

This hotel is located very strategically so you can access orchard area via the underground. Breakfast was not bad, the variety..they even catered to vegetarian. Rooms were cleaned only 2 days once and they didn't really tightly fitted the bedsheets...just arrnaged the blanket on top. Not impressive at all as staying in a.hotel you look 4ward to coming back to a perfectly clean room.

Room 4/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Food (Breakfast): 4/5 I stayed at this hotel on 9 Sep - 11 Sep 2022. This hotel is located in Orchard Area. And it is in the middle of lots of shopping mall. Transportation is definitely not an issue as you can easily catch buses or taxi or even grab. When I checked In that time, there were two trainee serving me. They were abit clumsy but I have no issue as I know they are trying their best to serve me. I am aware that this hotel is in the middle of two building so I requested for a higher floor so that i able to have a brighter room. Definitely can't have the best view as it is still facing buildings. They really did give me a higher floor which is still facing buildings but much brighter. I give the room 4/5 points due to the bathroom. The shower seems to be loosen up. It keep on falling off whenever we try to hang it back. The bathroom's exhaust fan is not strong enough.. as my room's bathroom still wet overnight. I do agree with everyone that TV really has a few channel only. Should upgrade. As for cleanliness, i give 5/5. I am aware that the housekeeping will only clean the room two days once, so i have no issue as i only stay for 2 nights. But to my surprise, my room was cleaned the next day by the housekeeping. Thumbs up to the housekeeping team. For the breakfast, I do agree it is lack of variety. Everyday is the same food. My mom has no issue for the first day breakfast. But the second day, she start to say "again the same menu?" . The porridge is good but everyday chicken porridge will be boring. It will be better if we have some soup noodles. I didn't get to try the dinner buffet due to it is fully booked... Overall, i have a wonder stay with Royal Plaza. Definitely will comeback!

A very basic 4 star hotel with no coffee or tea bags in the room. Clean and spacious. However, my disappointments: - a weekend staycation to celebrate my momโ€™s birthday. long queue at check-in counter, only 3 staff available. Really slow. almost 45mins for me to get everything done. - my requests, which was stated on emails to the reservation department twice (by the sales person and myself), were not adhere to. I have to reiterate again that rooms to be on the same level, extra bed in one of the rooms (which Iโ€™ve already paid for), and birthday amenities if ever possible for my mom. not sure if all these were reflected on the computer screen, but counter staff didnโ€™t seem to know of my requests. - 2 rooms were ready much later, which we didnโ€™t mind. But no birthday amenities at all for my mom. Cleanliness and rather spacious room made up the disappointment, but I was hoping for coffee and tea to be available in the room, though itโ€™s a 4 star hotel, which I specifically remember the hotel did have that when I stayed with them a few years ago.

Great location and great suite hence our go to hotel prior to COVID-19. Unfortunately it is not the same anymore. A little advise, please do not expect 5 stars quality or service due to the poor guest service especially the rude restaurant cleaning staff, housekeeping and some of the front desk. Will not be returning.

Comes with complimentary breakfast (wide spread), bath tub (diy spa), free parking. Finally a hotel that provides a good quality toothbrush with good bristles. Fruit juice and mineral water are all complimentary. Nice for stay cation. Pool is rather small though.

Fantastic location, my family used to stay here way back when it was still the Holiday Inn. The lobby is nice, bright and clean. The rooms are still rather small compared to American and Australian standards, but larger than most standard Singaporean hotel rooms. They were clean and comfortable which is all we needed during this stay. The daily breakfast included was a very pleasant surprise, with many options to choose from. We especially loved the chicken congee, made to order eggs, local dishes, cheese board, yogurt, fruit and pastries. We wish the juices weren't so sweet though. The staff we interacted with were all lovely, super friendly and helpful. I've stayed at several hotels in Singapore throughout my life including Marina Bay Sands, the Marriott Tang Plaza (Dynasty), Shangri-la, Orchard hotel, Hilton and many others and for the price point, location, service and comfort, I would happily stay at the Royal Plaza on Scotts again. The only complaint we had were some of the tacky guests, there was a group of Chinese guests (yes they were Chinese as my sister speaks mandarin) that came back to the rooms next door loud and drunk on our last night and woke us up at 2:30am, they were banging doors, yelling, laughing loudly and even after we confronted them and asked them to please quiet down they still went on with their noise for about an hour. They were very inconsiderate and rude, we had an early flight the next morning and in hindsight we should've called down to the front desk to report the unacceptable and inappropriate behavior. Some people just lack basic manners and courtesy unfortunately.
