IBIS Singapore Novena Now already reopen for stay-cation in March 2022. Nice 10-floors hotel in the heart of Balestier, area well-known for it's numerous Bak Kut Teh and Chicken Rice, as well as Tau Sar Piah. Good location to consider if one is interested to explore the Balestier Heritage Trail (see attached photos). Thumbs up to the ever-responsive and friendly Mr Damien Tng (Front Office Manager) and Ms Yen (check-in) who make my stay-cation a pleasant one ! Room is comfortable and well-kept, spacious enough for a budget room, value-for-money, and air-conditioning is well-maintained; and room amenities are adequate.

The hotel was a decent size for the price. I appreciated the in room kettle, iron, ironing board and bath products. The fridge was tooo small, barely useful. Housekeeping came pretty late each day, but they were nice. I wish they provided hand towels. The shower was hot with great water pressure. They do not provide in-room water, but there is a shared water fountain near the elevators... but I would never use that so I purchased water at 7-11. The buffet breakfast was great with many options. The hotel is close to the bus but far from the subway. Check in was quick and easy.

The hotel restaurant is awesome. We had a very tasty breakfast buffet every day. Even though few items were repeated, but overall breakfast experience was very good. The staff at this hotel were very courteous. Location is good. There is a mall opposite to this hotel and number of food courts are there around this place. Little India is few km away from this place. The rooms are very clean. We had a room with good view on the other side. Refer the photo added to it. They cleanliness, hygiene and security points are noteworthy. Rooms are very small but it is ok for travelers like us. A decent room charges. We recommend for their service, cleanliness, hygiene, safety and good food.

The property is located in a very nice place. Good for a decent stay in Singapore. Nearby we have a mall, bus stop and other basic amenities. The rooms are not very spacious but decent enough. They have their restaurant on the ground floor which is open for guests as a breakfast buffet. They don't have porter service.

This is not a budget hotel since I paid 180 SGD a night for a week booked a month in advance. AC is cold in the morning and very hot at night. Very uncomfortable to sleep. Most staffs were polite and friendly (housekeeping 3rd floor). Except for this male staff who works in the dining room on Sunday morning (see photo). He was impolite and got that blank stare when I was coming. Hello... say something. Overall rating for my stay 3.6

1 star less is due to food quality. The frontdesk service and room keeping are tip top

The air conditioning in the rooms was very bad, you cannot control it the way you want. It's either too hot or too cold, I got the flu because of the cold. Breakfast was good compared to hotels of this level in Singapore. The cleanliness of the rooms was at normal standards, the location was a little far from the metro.

Booked 5 rooms and stayed there for 5 days. Rooms were medium sized, but was ok for tourusts. All rooms had windows, but cannot open. The views from three rooms were very good. Good facilities. Kettle, fridge, locker, iron box tea/coffee/creamer were available.Bathroom shower with body wash. Brush, shower cap, paste on request only. Breakfast was good with varieties for all guest nationalities. Indian idilli was not that good, but uppumav was good. Variety of juices were available. Reception people ware good.Centralized ac. The small problem noticed were : There were only few seats for the waiting people in the lobby and the checkin time is 2pm. In one of the rooms, the ac was not cold enough, some technical issue.

Ibis Novena has been extremely good hosts for the past two days. Staff especially Ms Jolin has been nice, gentle and very helpful while staying thoroughly professional. I specifically want to mention about their food. Being a vegetarian, I thought it won’t be easy in Singapore to get quality and healthy vegan stuff but IBIS overwhelmed me with such great cuisine offering more choices than imagined. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone visiting beautiful Singapore for the first time…

3 night stay at Ibis Singapore Novena was very good. While room was small, it was clean and had fast internet. Location is excellent, near metro station (10 minute walk) and bus stops. Easy to find food options (restaurants, cafes, food courts).

Excellent breakfast with many varieties of food to choose from. The room is clean and comfortable. The The staff is very friendly. Enjoyed the high-speed internet. The only minus point is no water bottles supplied in the room but there is a filter near to elevator, have to go far to fill the water and you need your own bottle to fill the water.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are of good size with basic facilities. The fridge was super small which has room for only a couple of can drinks. My room was facing directly opposite a private apartment and I had to close the curtain most of the time when I was in the room. Only two sets of washer/dryer are available on the 10th floor which was a problem when a few families were trying to do their washing in the evening during my stay. The laundry room was super hot as I believed the dryers blew the hot air back into the room. The hotel is about 10 min walk from the MRT station but shuttle bus is available from the hotel to the station. You need to call the hotel is you want to take the bus back from the station back. A small shopping mall is right opposite the hotel with a small food court providing local food, and there is a super market on the second floor. You can get breakfast at the food court starting at around 8:00am. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I stayed in ibis of other country before. But compare to others, kinda disappointed with this. Called for guest service asked for drinking water. Guest service explained due to eco friendly so will only provide two complimentary upon request. Two days later when I call guess service then was told they not provide 🙈. Air conditioning although having remote control in room but in fact it was manage by central also. During my stay I had called 3 times to adjust the temperature as I was sweating despite 16 degree with highest fan. Restaurants not recommended for Asian food. Fried rice and beehoon no taste. Western food then acceptable. Soundproof not good. I can hear someone talking at corridor. Or when you at corridor, you can hear people's sound from inside the room.

First of all, a big thank you to the housekeeping team who cleaned up my room late in the day during my stay in one afternoon (although I think they somehow misread the door sign). Didn't expect that to happen. It was my first time staying at this property. Checked-in after midnight as my flight landed late in the day. And encountered no problem whatsoever. The air con was cold (much much better than its sister hotel, swissôtel the stamford which room temperature can only be set to 21⁰C as the lowest). Although the room is on the small side, but I rarely spent the day inside the room. So no complaint on that. Shuttle to novena station is provided every 30 minutes (or on the hour...can't remember), but bus stop is within walking distance from the hotel which could take you to town as well so location wise it's pretty convenient with a mall just right across from the hotel. Don't have problem sleeping at night given the fact that the room temperature was to my liking and room was pretty sound proof as well. And also received free minibar (although I had inform receptionist to get it replenished on the second day). Also received welcome drink and fresh fruits with some small chocolates. Room was equipped with nespresso machine. Bathroom though, was a bit small and hard to maneuver but it was all good. All in all I felt that it was worth the money spent considering hotels in Singapore aren't cheap and most of them are somewhat small.

A little far from the main attractions of Singapore but all in all a quaint place to live at a good price. For a budget hotel the rooms were quite nice and service was fast. I would live here again.

The hotel is located in a good and alive part of Singapore, near Novena. The stay and hospitality was very warm. The food was great! And the staff were really helpful. Only reason for NOT rating 10/10 are very minute issues I faced during the stay, like the door to the washroom inside one of the rooms didn't have a working lock. The other room in our stay made a weird noise whenever using the hot water.

The hotel is very nice and clean. It's a little bit small, but it is in Singapore. I really like the location. It is very close to many food courts so it is very easy to get food. There is also a supermarket right across the street. Closest MRT is only 10 minutes away and located very close to many hospitals and shopping centers.

Pretty satisfied overall. It was clean, although the bathroom could be cleaner. Front desk staff could be more friendly with greetings, but don't know if that's asking for too much. Overall all understandable and worth it, for the amount we paid for.

I occupied this hotel for a duration of four days along with my family, and we derived immense satisfaction from our stay. We made reservations for a total of four rooms and arrived at the hotel several hours prior to check-in. Despite this, the staff graciously facilitated the provision of two rooms for us to freshen up, which we found to be an act of great kindness. Furthermore, the breakfast buffet offered a wide array of options to cater to diverse preferences. The hotel's prime location, with a shopping mall situated a mere few steps away, added to its appeal. Additionally, we were able to store our luggage post-checkout due to our late evening flight, an accommodation for which we express our utmost gratitude. Based on our positive experience, we highly endorse this establishment.

I truly am comfortable in this hotel. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. The room is comfortable. Toilet is clean and comfortable. This is not a 6 star hotel but it's not a dingy suspicious hotel either. The vibes are nice. Family friendly too. Parking is easy. Looking forward to my next stay next week! Worth the price I paid. Hope to have the same experience the next time.

This hotel is seriously over rated and not worth the ~$200 a night. I booked a room for 3 single beds and it was super squeeze. It is not a genuine 3-bed room, even though it's charged with 3 occupant rate. With 3 single beds, the room is left almost 0 room for walking and luggage. I literally had no space to open my luggage at all and had to left it closed during the whole night. The bathroom is very poorly maintained and dirty, super small too, roughly 1.5m x 1m space only. There's very minimum amenity, only 1 bottle of combined shower gel, shampoo and nothing else. Tissue paper was running out too. The hotel is also filled up with tourist groups, meaning really noisy during morning peak hour of checking out and arrivals. We had to wait for lifts for quite long. Definitely NOT recommended!

A functional hotel meeting the Ibis brand - simple, good quality and at a reasonable price. Front desk is always crowded and busy but luckily as a LeClub Accor member, the experience was pleasant and got attended to quickly. Initially had a room with a faulty air conditioner, but the front desk team went out of their way to fix, and when it took longer than expected decided to upgrade my room instead to ensure I could go to rest quickly! Great customer experience and recovery! Buffet breakfast experience was mixed - quality and variety was above expectations for an Ibis hotel - but was extremely busy thua hard to get a table, many dishes were empty and not refilled, and even plates and cutlery were at times not available. The special LeClub corner offering members free drinks throughout the day was a nice surprise and free wifi was fast and stable, which was a blessing for my multiple devices and working on the laptop. Sound-proofing isn't a strength for this hotel, especially with the timber flooring in the rooms - so make sure you ask for a room that is situated at either end of the floor to avoid too much traffic. Room size is adequate for single travellers, and at a stretch for couples. I wouldn't recommend for any stays for more than 2 people, and definitely not with kids... There is hardly space in the room to put luggage, and definitely not much space to move around the room - thus too many people or with kids would definitely find this limiting. Rooms with "extra benefits" refers to higher floor, free mini bar (4 cans of soft drink and some chocolates), a chair with soft cushioning, branded mugs and a capsule espresso machine (but then still using creamers which degrades the coffee quality)... everything else is the same as a standard room so questionable if it's worth an additional $30-40 per night?

Very good. Though I had a minor problem with my lights, it was acted upon asap. I was given free breakfast to compensate for that very minor problem. Staff were very warm and accommodating. I will surely book to this hotel whenever I the chance to come back to Singapore❤️❤️❤️

Visited and stayed a few times at this hotel (pre-covid). The cost is reasonable. This hotel is a little perplexing at first, but you'll grow to adore it! It's in a good location. The MRT stations are about a 10 minute walk away to Novena MRT Station which is ideal for travellers. The nearest mini-mart is a few blocks away. It's difficult to find reasonably priced and decent restaurants.

For sleep is just good, not the hotel if you want to feel comfortable. The food is very standard, not so good but not so bad (edible) The room is narrow even if for 2 ppl. The window is dirty, so it need to be cleaned

Very disappointed with your front office male staff on duty on 21/4/21 morning. I have personally requested to clean my room , when I came back to my room at 10.30pm, my room was untidy. This made me very furious and upset with your hotel service provided to me. I don’t think your hotel guest service is up to 4 Stars rating.

  • 4/5 Daniel 1 year ago on Google
Although not centrally located, I had a pretty decent stay. Novena MRT and shopping mall is within a 15 mins walking distance (uphill). Room was just like in the picture, compact, but functional. I like the desk, decent enough to get some work done. There’s also a laundry room for $12 ($6 washer and $6 dryer). No drinking water provided, best you can do is going to the mall and get yourself some bottles. If you stay more than 3 days, the room will only be cleaned every 3 days. Hotel is not soundproofed (people outside can hear what you’re doing inside), and toilet doesn’t have bidet (minus one star!).

ibis Novena was amazing in hosting me and my family for my mum’s birthday and staff there was really friendly and welcoming. Nur at the reception was awesome in helping me with check-in and all. I opted for the Bed & Breakfast option was not disappointed at all. Food was really tasty, delicious and there were quite many choices to go from. Will definitely stay here again, very soon.

A perfect stay in this cozy hotel, easily reachable by bus and other modes of transport. Breakfast was excellent and value for money spent. Early check-in and late check-out was possible, if u check with the staff. This cozy hotel made our vacation a fantabulous one.

Average stay at an average room here in Novena/Balestier area. Cheap and affordable for the budget travellers but felt that the amenities given are way too little. The other hotels nearby offer better services and hospitality

  • 4/5 Narendra S. 5 months ago on Google
Positives: 1. Helpful staff: Allowed early check-in for us. 2. Breakfast is good 3. Maintains cleanliness Suggestions for Improvement: 1. My kids have a habit of drinking milk after wakeup from the bed. Cafeteria staff are not allowing to take warm milk to the room. 2. Provision of Hand flush beside toilet commod will be helpful as we indians don't use tissue paper. 3. Rooms are very compact, this might be a common issue for all budget hotels in Singapore.

Breakfast was awesome, they think about all the nationalities and their food habits. Location wise best place . They do not give toothpaste and brush in advance if you go to reception and ask them to give it to you , then they will provide it . Little india is quite far around 3 km , better to take the bus (charge 2 dollars per person).

Hotel was above average from what I was expecting. I got a corner room and room was clean. Room size was also large and housekeeping called mid-day to double confirm if I needed anything (I put a Do Not Disturb sign on my door). Very thoughtful. Reception gave me a late check out till 4pm to catch my flight, was a pleasant experience.

Great budget option, simple rooms, comfortable and clean. Area is great, so many things to eat and a bus stop nearby and not far from MRT, they also run a shuttle bus but it is walkable. Have washing machines etc. The friendly gals in the bar serve a mean White Russian and a meanier martini! nice to sip on the corner and people watch.

Well maintained hotel at a budget price. The room we stayed in is functional but could be bigger for a family of three. The bathroom is a little tight. The buffet breakfast is very good and I strongly recommend. The coffee is nice.

An average 3 star hotel and gets my 3 stars! Shower was not that good on pressure or temperature. Didn't eat in the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequate but basic but for the price is okay. I've been before and I'd stay again.

Rooms are impeccable and staff is professional. I just love this hôtel. We were welcomed with a honeymoon cake upon arrival. Location is very convenient. Most of the attractions are 10 minutes away in a cab and many stores are just beside the hotel. Going to stay here for 4 days. Hoping for a great stay!!

One of the best stays in my life. Comfortable bedroom, still pretty much walking distance (a bit far but doable) from the nearest MRT station. The breakfast was the best. Plenty of option and also cater to vegetarians.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is good with friendly staff. Location is good. Bus station is 100 meters away only. The rooms are neat and cleaned but very small. Be aware of check I time which is 1400 Hours. Veg food is not up to the mark. The most frustrating part was I got trapped in lift and no one came for my rescue even after buzzing emergency alarm

  • 4/5 Ronx H. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed for 3 nights here. The hotel rooms are clean and well maintained. They are small though comparatively. No water bottles provided but still you get to refill water at all floors (though we didn’t receive any glass bottles as claimed in previous comments)- still it was convenient and we respect their commitment to the environment! Breakfast was very good catering to people from different cultural backgrounds and palates. Vegetarians too have good options. They assist you with any other needs like iron box, taxis at need. Reception was not available on phone at certain times of need- may be a one-off situation.

  • 3/5 Sumit B. 1 year ago on Google
The location and services are good however the rooms are a bit small. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. I'll give a 4 star for overall experience. The only bitter experience was with the manager that happened due to making noodles in an electric kettle, which he said we had damaged, but when we cleaned and asked to check, he argued unnecessarily and asked us to pay. When we asked us if there were any guidelines written by Ibis hotels about not making noodles in the kettle, he didn't have the answer. Eventually, we had to pay as we had our flights to catch.

Standard ibis hotel. Service was friendly and very efficient. Breakfast plenty and well presented. Rooms are very small and bathrooms are quite old and not too well cleaned. Location is alright, as I was on a business trip and went everywhere by taxi anyway.

So far the best stay in Singapore ever had after a very long time. Rooms are really clean and hassle free check in was arranged. Although the rooms do not provide water bottles were set back. But everything else was perfect for our two nights stay. MRT, fair price outlets are very close by and need any restaurant are at near by location. Really enjoyed the free buffet breakfast one of a kind. Will surely visit next time.

Staff were all very friendly and attentive, always asking me how was the stay and if i needed anything. Service was exceptional. Check in was seamless and rooms were very clean. Carpark uses a car lift so it was the first time my kid went into one 😂. There is a water dispenser on every floor so its very convenient. Near the hotel has no lack of food and there was even a pharmacy nearby. Novena mrt was within walkable distance as well.

Great location and super helpful staff. The rooms were clean and always serviced daily. In a good location away from the busy areas which meant you could always get a good rest before going out to explore. The breakfast buffet had a good choice and was always fresh. Very well priced and great staff made it a memorable stay.

Had a great stay at ibis Singapore Novena on my first visit to Sinagpore last week. The check-in & check-out was very convenient and hassle free and the general service was great. The rooms were self-contained with all necessary amenities. A special mention to the water coolers in the hallway, which kept me hydrated at all times! The breakfast spread was yummy. Kudos to the Ibis Novena team for taking valuable steps towards a green and sustainable future! Thank you for everything!

Location is very nice. Great ambiance. Rooms are just adequate. If it's for single person it's spacious. They made it for double, in our case they made it for triple. Very uncomfortable. Breakfast is good. Water bottle is not provided. Ofcourse drinking water is available in every floor.

Booked two of the standard rooms with queen bed, one for my parents and another for myself. We stayed for one night during our transit. It’s a budget hotel so wasn’t expecting much. Bed was too soft for my liking. Clean and good shower. Nearby rooms and their occupants were very noisy. They were talking in the corridor outside their rooms, very annoying as we couldn’t sleep and we had to wake up at 3am for our flights. I was given a gift box for being a Gold Accor Plus member, which was appreciated. There’s a small food court across the hotel in the Zhongsan Mall.

The accommodations offer generous space, yet certain rooms have malfunctioning air conditioning. We switched rooms due to this issue during our stay, but the replacement room wasn't an improvement. Despite the inconvenience of moving our luggage repeatedly, we decided to endure and remain. On a positive note, the breakfast was enjoyable and offered a decent variety of options.

Location is near many restaurants, shops and park that facilitate for having food and service. Bus stop is near the hotel too, so you can walk around 1-2 min. to it. Room is clean and housekeeper always clean your room everyday. Staff at the front counter can speak English well. The money exchange machine is front reservation counter. Water dispenser is front at each elevator level so do not forget to prepare bottle for getting water ;)

Room is clean and functional. Everything worked well. The walk to MRT was a little far for me but the walkway was good. Bus stop was just right outside, much nearer so I prefered that. Loved the welcome drink. Amenities were available at the front desk and there is a water station near the lift. Only issue I had was the water having a strong metal smell after boiling it in the electric kettle. Hot water from the water station was a better option.
