Sadly this hotel is very tired and run down. I know Singapore hotels are expensive but we selected this hotel as Middle of the range ($350 a night) which was a premier club room which gave us access to the club lounge which included breakfast, morning & afternoon tea and evening drinks. The room is tiny. I mean tiny, the 2 of us could not fit in the bathroom together. There was a lot of water damage throughout the room that had been "bogged" up and looked terrible. The breakfast in the club and and the Cafe was just awful. Every morning the hot food was cold. There was only urn coffee in the Cafe room. The fruit was sour and warm. We had drinks 1 night in the club, ordered a gin & tonic and were then told there is no more gin left. Really disappointing for the amount of money we paid, and wouldn't go back here.

Rooms a bit dated (a bit, really) but super comfortable and spacious. I had a long stay (more than a week) without issues. Will be coming back to this hotel. The location is superb. There is a Skybar in one of the towers with stunning city views (the photo with the view is shot from one of the bar balconies).

Please do not waste your money on this hotel. Due to flight times we checked in at 9 pm ( check in time is from 2 pm ) we were told to take a seat while someone checks to see if our room was ready. Once it was we went up to our room to find it was dirty, and so old, like it hadn't been updated for 40 years. We promptly said this is unacceptable so they moved us to another room. This room was equally old with curtains falling of the rail, wall coverings falling of the walls and stains on the carpet. The room was bigger but this was the only plus to the move. The beds are the hardest I have ever slept in. It was like sleeping on the floor for 3 nights. The hotel photos are obviously so very old. I would rate my stay as a 2 star and no way near the 4 star they say. The only way this hotel makes it past the 2 star rating it's worth, is the location. The location is very good but lots of other hotels with this positive also have better rooms and for the same price range. So my opinion: Terrible rooms Hard beds Dirty Overpriced I also took photos so if the hotel management would like to see these they are very welcome to contact me.

Room and location were phenomenal. Room was very clean and staff was friendly and accommodating. The only reasons I have for the low review is the bathroom and the food service. The shower curtain touches you regardless of how you position it, and it's cloth so it gets soaking wet. Not relaxing. For the food service, just go somewhere else to eat. The two resturaunts for drinks and coffee isn't bad, but don't order food. Not only does it not come as described on the menu, but it comes ice cold. Wish I could rate higher. Regardless, I'll definitely come back again.

Stayed for just under 1 month on business, had an exceptionally nice time. The reports of the hotel being dated are a little unfair, as the club rooms are great and the sky bar is lovely. My favourite part was how accommodating the hotel was to all my needs, as well as offering two free laundry items per day, free drinks at the sky bar and breakfast and alcohol in the evenings. Cleaning staff were wonderful and very attentive, and Vivian on the front desk was extremely helpful and made my stay even better! Will highly recommend this hotel to my colleagues and also friends. Attached photo of the rooms view!

Don’t waste your time here, checked in the hotel 9-26-23 room#1422 after a long flight and try to rest while I was sleeping they sent 2 men to my room pounding on my door to wake me up because they said the curtain was not all the way down which is about 3/4 down they’re not even try to call me about it and I’m not sure why? Also the room smells full of mold and mildew that gets into my lung not worth the money I will not recommended anyone to stay here unless you want to get sick. Pls stay away worst hotel ever

We have mixed views of this hotel. There is no inside bar, the only bar being on the ground floor outside in the heat. We tried to get into the sky lounge, but because we were in the Excelsior tower and not the Peninsular tower we weren't allowed in to eat or drink, only to see the views. Odd. The room was pleasant enough but housekeeping came at odd times, eg 5pm, 4pm. Our room was 1031 near the storeroom, not ideal. Avoid that room if you can. My husband's birthday was during our stay, and a cake and card was kindly left in the room for him on the day, which as a nice touch. The staff were all pleasant, helpful and courteous. Bring your swimmers, as the pools looked great on a hot day. Close to MRT station, easy access to most sights.

I made a mistake of booking this hotel based on my experience some 6-7 years ago. This hotel is a total disgrace to Singapore, I haven't had a worse experience in years, even in much poorer countries and in hotels with less stars. The first room I was assigned to had horrible noise coming from outdoors fan/vent system that made stay there completely unbearable. They changed me to a quieter, but smaller room basically a downgrade. Constant problems: safe box didn't work, call reception, they forget, after multiple attempts they recognized it was broken and replaced it. Room service, front desk, housekeeping phones don't respond, you need to constantly call them hoping they'll pick up, then front desk forgets about your requests and you have to call them again. Then something breaks again, like the door bell keeps buzzing, then morning cleaning service keeps repeatedly ding donging and trying to open the door though you didn't request any service and are busy doing your morning routine in the room. Rooms tiny, windows tiny with a view of a construction site oppostie the building. Bathrooms are so small you have to squeeze yourself in, toilets are old, have flushing problems, and they don't have any bum gun or anything to clean your poo (sorry for gross details!) which keep stucking to the inside of toilet walls. The halls outside smell of food and fungi, absolutely disgusting. I wonder when hotel organizations will update its outdated star system, and will assign stars based on the quality of rooms and service and not based on facilities available in hotel. This is 2 star hotel at best, very overpriced, super low quality service, and totally not worth the stars next to its name.

My wife and I arrived from Canada after a strenuous 27 hour journey to Singapore for our honeymoon and the staff at Peninsula Excelsior could not have been anymore gracious and hospitable! The service agent at reception made sure to provide us an upgraded room for our honeymoon stay and we were met with an amazing view of the city and a piece of delicious cake to welcome our stay. Our visit included a breakfast buffet which was also to our satisfaction. Conveniently located in the heart of the downtown core we were a quick bus ride away from the local favourites for dining and sightseeing. Thank you to the folks at Peninsula Excelsior for the memorable stay!

I stayed at this hotel to serve a quarantine order. The space was decent, although a little on the smaller side, but still pretty great. The facilities in the room were well kept and worked great. The space in the bathroom is also very generous with plenty of space to move around inside and contains both a dedicated shower area and a bath area. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and made the whole experience even more bearable, with occasional calls from the guest experience team or front desk to check in on our well being, and to check whether we need any top ups for our amenities. They were also very responsive to requests for any top ups of water, amenities and towels. When ordering deliveries to the hotel, the staff will also call prior to delivering the items to your room and it's a nice touch knowing that I am expecting a delivery. Overall, the experience at the hotel was great and hopefully when the situation gets better, I will be back for a staycation instead of a quarantine!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Photos online looked great. It was a good price & good location. Booked for 3 nights but have checked out after one night. Room was full of mould and smelt very musty. My wife & I both woke up sick. It’s undergoing renovations at the moment so it might be great in a few years but I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here in the meantime. Hoping to get my money back because we have had to book elsewhere for the remaining two nights. Very disappointed.

Not sure why this place receives such positive reviews. The lobby and location are the only good things about this hotel. The room was small and cramped, so was the bathroom. The beds were very hard, like sleeping on rock. I was glad we only spent one night and then moved on to better places. In my opinion this is at most a 3 star hotel but the poor beds make it a 2 star for me.

Pros: fair price (given holidays season), good location, just beside Funan mall, you can easily get around, front desk staff greets you well, managed to extend my room until 2pm due to evening flight, and they are happy to assist with the extension, thanks for this. Nice bar at level 1 next to hotel entrance. Cons: booked superior room, room has aged, old carpet smell, but it goes away once you have the air con turned on, bathroom size is small, if you are a big size person, it could be a bit of a challenge, no bidet, a bit of sewerage smell, but again once you have showered down, it goes away. Breakfast: standard 4 star breakfast spread, if you are a big breakfast person, this may not be suitable for you, otherwise its ok. Overall: you get what you paid for, fair play.

You're pretty much in the middle of Singapore's city area. About a 10min walk to Marnia Bay but 30min walk to the Marina Bay Sands side, i suggest a taxi if you're not up for a long hot walk. 5min taxi ride to Orchid Road and only 20mins from the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 2 nights half board basis. In this hotel i mostly like the swimming pool in-front of the front office not the swimming pool in the front. Even though there was no privacy there i like that. It was a good experience the food is also good, and we had the best view from our room to Marina bay sand and the Singapore flyer(top left right corner room). 100% Recommended.

One of the worst places I've ever stayed. This place does not get cleaned. Do not stay here whatever you do. They have a dodgy club called The Wangfu Club on one of the floors that connects to the shopping centre. My husband and I tried to go inside one day and we were told it's only for Asian people. The staff at the hotel stated they cannot be held responsible for anything that goes in thee club. Suspicious right?? Anyway, that night we heard a loud bang on our door. I've never been so terrified. This place is absolutely grim. I wound avoid at all costs. The location was decent but the hotel itself is absolutely awful.

There was quite a wait in reception as check in took quite a long time for some people. Our first room was quite bad with musky smell and view of another building. I really did not want to spend 6 nights in that room. Fortunately they were helpful in the reception and gave us room in the other tower, which appeared to be newer. The room was kept very clean but is in a need of some maintenance. The hotel shows its age. I am basing my opinion on the second room which was perfectly acceptable with very good view.

The hotel is situated in the hearth of the city, the view from the room was quite nice, it has 2 pools, spa gym everything you would need. The rooms are big and cozy, for me the best part was the “sofa” near the window, it gave you such a good vibe, chill vibe. The breakfast has a good variety of food, fresh fruits fresh juices. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed from Monday 27th November until 1 December 2023. We got in late on the 27th (8.30pm) after delayed 11 hour flight. First impressions was the over powering smell of some sort of cleaning agent. The check lobby had the same smell. The check in process was easy and the staff seemed nice. The lobby was pretty empty. Our room 1317, yes strange the 13th floor anyway the room was a good size with a large bed (super king). We noticed the room was very tired and dated, but it wasn’t until the following day/night we started to notice the issues. The 28th November, we were out exploring Singapore as we were there for a holiday. We got back late in the afternoon after being in the heat of Singapore. Seeing the room in the day light we noticed mould and musty smell of the room. The bathroom show heat was broken, this was fixed the next day. The TV didn’t work, the toilet didn’t flush very well, the safe didn’t work, this was fixed the next day. The water smelt bad, not sure if it was drinkable and I’ve didn’t try. The fridge worked if you stored your water in the ice tray area. The hotel put out 3 notices about upgrades and renovations etc, I just wish I knew before spending $1100 dollars on a very below par accommodations. We try one night to go to the sky lounge for a drink, it was all too hard . There was a minimum spend of $50 Sing per person, and there was no access to a drinks of food menu for the guests staying in the hotel. On the positive side, the staff were pretty good, location was good. I don’t think I would stay there again, it was unfortunate and staying in a good comfortable accommodation makes a huge difference. we are in Bangkok now staying at Pathumwan Princess Hotel (MBK), this place is absolute luxury compared to Peninsula, yet the price here is cheaper. I really would like to know how the star rating works and how the standard is achieved and then maintained. 2 stars from me, good location, we did have good view of Marina bay sands, but the windows we dirty and needed a clean so you could enjoy the view. Sorry Team Peninsula.

I had a very unpleasant experience. There were five of us wanting to sit together for a breakfast, but the staff insisted that only three could sit at each other table. She assigned two of us to a distant table. Looking around, we noticed that Western customers were seated in pairs, and it felt like a racial discrimination. During this process, the staff member was far from professional and even rudely pointed at us with her fingers. I visited Singapore many times and this is the first time I've had such an uncomfortable experience in Singapore.

Almost a 5 star but we were in the Premier club and reception gave us a letter that said as members we get complimentary tea and coffee every day. We were in a rush to check out at the end of our stay and they charged us for 2 cups of coffee and would not listen. We paid. When we got home we found the letter and they were definitely supposed to be free. So that was very disappointing.

Thank you the wedding team from peninsula Excelsior. I have attend the wedding dinner last weekend .it really surprised me as my first impression with the hotel was just normal but not great .this is first time I have attended the wedding at here . I am so impressed with the manager Edmund the way he have run the event . From start to the end he have never worry despite so many last min change he was so observed ensure the drink was top and my grandma who have difficulty in eating he make effort to cut small pieces so that my grandma can eat.. this is one of the best place I have attend . When my friend told me here is 4 star hotel but to me service here is definitely 5 ⭐ I am not a person who like to compliment people but Edmund and his team impressed me that I feel I like to said something . Edmund definitely gem to the organisation.. will recommend this place to hold wedding event if anyone ask.

This hotel is situated a short distance away from few shopping malls, bars, restaurants and famous Marina Bay Sands. The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Wifi was fast. The morning buffet was very good with everything from scrambled eggs and bacon to cereal, yogurt, assorted fruits and pastries. The staff were pleasant. I would definately stay here again.

Hotel old & tired, photos on website better than it is. Arrived earlier than check in time, but nowhere available to relax and wait for 4 hours, no cafe available breakfast was being served. Club floor not available as promoted, closed for functions. After a 12 hour flight surely they could accommodate travellers in some way. Only the lobby was available. Toilets in lobby area dirty, overflowing bins. Finally room is available, bed hard and uncomfortable, not a king as advertised, noise from shopping centre with vibrating music on repeat all day. Hotel needs a good clean. Only positive is the location. Always look forward to Singapore, this accommodation is very disappointing. .

In short, perfect location with nice view from the room, decent room size and got two very nice pools. What I like about this hotel? - Location, 3min walk to the subway, walking distance to many famous spots, including China town/Merlion park etc. What are the areas for improvement? - No early check in available - Long waiting time for check in

The check in was relatively hassle free but can be slightly long if it’s the peak check in period, there are only 3 counter staff. The excelsior tower rooms has a rather old feel as the TV is rather small with limited channels, and bed I got has one leg missing making the head portion recline downwards. The water temperature is rather Low, I on max heat is just so so only. It takes very long to heat up as well. The kettle I got is spoilt, the kettle will auto boil when there is no water inside and no one touching the switch

Reasonable value for money We only stayed for 1 night on a multi-destination trip around SE Asia. Overall, it was OK, but not great by any means. It’s a bit dated, and needs some modernisation in design, but otherwise it is very clean, the staff are friendly and nice, and we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. The rooms themselves are probably a little too big, though, given that the bathroom was tiny! We could barely fit two of us in the bathroom at the same time. The breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired, especially given Singapore’s reputation for good food. You might want to just avoid it and instead find your breakfast on the go or at one of the many restaurants or cafes in the city.

Very old hotel so needs a good overhaul but comfortable enough. Bathroom is very dated and small and needs a a cleaning. No breakfast included. Concierge is helpful and friendly, better than reception staff. Room was a bit noisy as it did not shut out noise from the corridor and room next door. Pool doesn't offer a sense of privacy. Saving grace is the good location of the hotel.

I can only give this hotel a positive rating. Especially the friendly and helpful staff. I needed to have a medication and cold packs refrigerated during my stay for my onward journey. Again, the staff was very helpful and I was able to refrigerate my items in the restaurant fridge and freezer, which made my stay worry free.

We were waiting for more than 30 mins upon arrival, as the receptionist just assigned our room, even though we booked it more than weeks ago. The room was closer to the exit door, so we can always hear outside noise. The room was musty and dusty, so aged too. It’s very unacceptable to OCD people. I can even see a layer of dust near to window handle. I often wake up at night due to my running nose and itchy eyes. It’s horrible that we have to stay for 5 nights here. Feel sick whenever walk into the room, used to ring up three times at night cause the tv wasn’t working at all, but no one answered. I really don’t understand why it earns a 4-star when I searched for it. Other than a walkable location, the management team need to put effort into the improvement of room's condition.

A hotel located in the middle of everything, close to shops, and public transport. It was super easy for us to get around. Amenities here are top notch - pool, gym, sauna, dining. We opted for room service and the food was tasty (Canai Chicken dish was delicious). Housekeeping refreshed our towels, and provided water bottles every day which was really nice. We were mostly disappointed with the uncomfortable beds. Our bed was hard as a rock and gave us back/neck pain. The room was quite affordable so I guess you pay for what you get.

This is an old hotel but some of the rooms were renovated already. It was clean and no odour in my room. Housekeepers did their job well. Room was spacious (studio). I booked for superior type and the receptionist said superior type are more spacious. However maybe due to the high occupancy rate in this hotel, the receptionist seemed to be devoid of life. Didnt smile and talk much. Breakfast was nice. I enjoyed the nasi lemak and the omelette. But it was mostly full and hard to find empty table most of the time. Overall this is a nice hotel with strategic location. You might want to get a room in higher floor with MBS view

Had my QO done here. Overall, its good! First, service great! From check in to check out. The room was good. Excellent view of MBS! The food can be further improved. A big shout out to Ms. Ariane and all the staffs for always reaching out and making sure we're ok during our stay.

Rooms were terrible, bed sheet was not cleaned properly didn't even change it. I left my pouch in the room during checkout and when I went back to get it, money was missing! Overall, dishonest staff, cleanliness was not up to standard, wouldn't stay in here again.

Very good hotel, but getting a little old. Rooms are still incredibly nice, pool is very unique and the rooftop 'Sky Lounge' has incredible views of the city - in particular Marina Bay and Marina Bay Sands. For what you get, pretty good value for money. It's also very centrally located.

Very clean and neat. It's more than comfortable for couples and enough space. Room service is very responsive! Strongly recommend

Old but nice hotel in Marina area. Near several bus stops. Walking distance to City Hall MRT. Got a room with view to Marina Bay Sand.

Its a nice hotel. Rooms are good. Services are good. The location is excellent near to Clark quay and raffles place. Never had any complain or any issue while staying here. The buffet served here is also very nice with lots of varities. Overall Excellent.

Visited and stayed a few times at this hotel (pre-covid). The cost is reasonable. I'm not sure if they received a free transport from Changi Airport. This hotel is a little perplexing at first, but you'll grow to adore it! It's in a good location. The MRT stations are about a 5-minute walk away, which is ideal for travellers. The nearest mini-mart is a few blocks away. It's difficult to find reasonably priced and decent restaurants.

Stayed for a night during NDP cum celebrate our anniversary. We didnt pick the club room (at more than double the price) to see the fireworks but was gladly surprised we could peek at it from our corner window. Usually hotels provide a tiny slice of cake to celebrate during anniversary but this place gave us a whole cake (altho not very tasty but we appreciated the gesture). Hotel funishing and walls are old and tattered. But room had noise cancelling and it was a pleasant and quiey stay overall. Will visit again.

Very good hotel with kind staff! They helped as with early check-in and upgrade our room as we are in honeymoon! The view of our room was amazing, all over the city and marina bay! They welcome us with a sweet cheesecake in the room and a wishes wedding letter. Clean room in general, but I would prefer a cleaner carpet. Overall it was a great experience!

The hotel is well located in the heart of the city, the main issue they MUST invest more in house keeping management and staff because most of complaint is about rooms cleaning, excelsior tower in more modern and clean than Peninsula tower.

Was in this hotel with family for SHN stay. I would like to give sincere thanks to Li Fang (front office) for her attentiveness and resolute to solve our problems. She is the perfect role model in the hospitality industry that anyone could imagine besides being down to earth, humble and friendly person. She also diligently follow up from time to time to ensure everything is ok and will try to do her utmost effort to meet our needs. Thanks for your help, we are able to go through SHN smoothly with young children. I would also like to extend my utmost thanks to all the Concierge staff for helping to pass items from family members such as porridge, toys, that makes staying with young children bearable and smooth. The halal cooking chef is also amazing for cooking yummylicious dishes such as curry mutton, sambal fish, curry chicken and nasi lemak dishes. Overall the staff here are all very helpful, friendly and hardworking. Lastly, also thanks to the Christmas goodies, they are all very thoughtful and bring much delight to the children. Thank you once again!
