I stayed in the CLUB ROOM! Definitely in need of a refresh. The staff were rude, the buffet breakfast was just enough OK. And the LOUNGE CLUB WAS NOTHING TO EAT. The price was too much for what we got, but perhaps it was up for location? Transparency in business helps drive significant progress, both on an individual, CUSTOMER/ guest and a company-wide level. It also drastically increases employee and customer satisfaction so that THIS HOTEL can enjoy more loyalty, faster growth, and a happier workplace. BUT? This hotel is trying to DELETE and SABOTAGE my HONEST REVIEW on TRIPADVISOR. My account got notifications that I put MY REVIEW in the incorrect LOCATION/ Business, how come?

My first time in Singapore and im very lucky to have come across this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and nice. The even sent a birthday cake to my husband on his birthday. The hotel room had a super nice view. The room was clean and spacious. The location was perfect! Chinatown , malls, restaurants so many things at a walking distance!! They have gym and pool ! I would comeback and recommend for sure!

My stay at Carlton City Hotel Singapore was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the elegant lobby, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a sense of sophistication. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth check-in, providing all the information I needed for a comfortable stay. The room was not only impeccably clean but also thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities and luxurious comfort. The breathtaking city views from my window added an extra touch to the overall experience. The attention to detail in room service and housekeeping was evident throughout my stay. The location of Carlton City Hotel is also a major plus, with convenient access to public transportation and key attractions. The concierge was incredibly helpful in providing recommendations and directions, making my exploration of Singapore enjoyable and hassle-free. Overall, Carlton City Hotel Singapore is a true gem. It combines luxury, impeccable service, and a prime location, creating a memorable experience for guests. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a top-notch hotel stay in Singapore.

While the rooms could use more closet space, they are well appointed an very comfortable. We stayed on the Cub Level, which was well worth the extra price with all the extras provided as well as the nice club lounge with modest buffets. Lastly, the location was really great, being in the middle of everything and walkable to almost every place we wanted to go.

This is the WORST experience I can ever imagine! Totally ridiculous and unacceptable! If you can't manage the volume, just tell the customers upfront. Stop lying and giving unrealistic timeline that we can get the room soon. They can't even process the refund on the spot after waiting for more than 8 hours. 2PM: paid for the room, but they are still cleaning the room. They assured me i can get my room by 6pm. 6PM: they requested me to come back at 9pm and they promised I will DEFINITELY get a room by then. 10PM: I still don't get my room and they can't promise me when it will be ready. I ask for a refund at 1030pm. They are unable to process my refund and told me to email them to process the refund next day.

TL;DR: long waiting time for room. Expect to get your room at 8pm. Spoilt the stay for me. Started queuing and completed the check in process at 13:30H. Was told that the room was not ready when I came back at 14:30pm. Many guests were asked to wait for prolonged period of time as the room were all not available. If you’re going to stay here, put time aside or plan something else as the waiting time for a room is terribly long. Edit: it’s 17:00H and I have not gotten my room. I read reviews from 5 years ago and it seems like it is a recurring issue that has not been resolved.

I was staying in this hotel for 8 nights. The hotel is excellent and very well located but what really makes the difference is the staff's hospitality. Everyone you meet no matter if it is the housekeeping, the reception, or the concierge is doing an excellent job. This comes from somebody who is a service fanatic and always very critical. Great to know where I will stay in Singapore next time I am around. GREAT JOB!

Great place to stay. Compact but clean room. Their beds are twin/full so do not accommodate one adult and an older kid. Nice breakfast and good pool area. Only minus is our room fridge did not function well and they are short staff.

Lovely experience with this hotel. Good location. They were super accommodating and helpful when i arrived, helped with booking taxis and even let me store my luggage for the evening after check out. The room was perfect and had everything - including a beautiful view. Totally recommend.

Good to Sleep and GO only .. Overall its clean but: - One small bottle of water in a room for two, seriously! - Rooms are small packed with big furniture pieces. - The In-room Dining menu lacks Halal options.

Overall a good experience, although room keeping should really be improved. Multiple days in a row I left my room in the morning, and came back at around 4pm, only to discover there hasn't been any room keeping yet. It's pretty annoying to come back after a day out to a dirty room, especially when it happens a few days in a row.

The one thing that I should mention is the funny smell of the room like fungus or mold. It might come from dirty air conditioner or carpet on the floor. It was painful to sleep in the room smelling fungus. When I complained about it, the hotel set up an ionizer(air purifier) for us. It was better than nothing but still painful. Go to another hotel, if you are sensitive towards air quality like me. It’s a warm country and the quality of air conditioning does matter. Female staffs in reception are STIFF and slightly condescending. Almost thought they are racists. Needs improvement in staff’s human skill. I stayed 2 nights during weekend and the hotel did not clean room. Offered a beverage coupon instead which I did not use. Had to call for towels too. I rated 3 stars just for a bell boy or a concierge guy’s hospitality and the cafe in the lobby. The cafe’s cafe latte is great and pastries are good too.

nice and clean hotel. breakfast menu is rather limited with a change in menu every few days or so. calling reception or room service was a challenge with either no one answering the call or being answered after multiple attempts. limited manpower is an issue for every hotel due to the pandemic but still expect the level of service to be reflective of its hotel rating. on the plus side its located very close to the MRT station and the staff do make every effort to attend to the needs of the guests.

We stayed at Carlton City Hotel for 4 nights. It is walking distance to chinatown (which has so many restaurants). The hotel has a small outdoor pool, and we enjoyed chilling there. Also we loved the rooftop bar at the hotel. It's worth going up for drinks. Breakfast wasn't the best (6/10)

Good service overall and nice hotel, convenient location and staff are always smiling and friendly! We had a family emergency late at night and the overnight concierge staff were very helpful in helping us arrange a taxi to the hospital and dealing with logistics in extending our stay last minute.

The hotel is located on a quite area, but it is nearby to a lot of good restaurant and walking distance to MRT station. The room is clean, tidy and spacious. But the breakfast is 😶, there are plenty of improvement needed.

Just fantastic atmosphere service was of the highest standard, from the breakfast of western and traditional buffets. Housekeeping and Club Lounge were just exceptional and so professional. The Porter's were helpful for information on MRT and making sure your stay is one to remember... Unfortunately we missed the new roof top bar opening just in time for National Day Celebrations.. I recommend for the location is just excellent and close to MRT which is the best way to travel around in Singapore... We did get a taxi to and from the Airport for convenience only.. My only thing is the lack of twin room options... So we had to upgrade to guarantee twin beds.. travel with my friend

Really enjoyed my stay here. Centrally located. Close to all bus and mrt station. Rooms clean. Only let down for me woukd be the limited channels on tv and having no hotel bar. Buffet breakfast in morning is great. Their congee is really good. Bircher muesli soaked well. Their fish ball noodle was not the best. A mouthful of bland soft noodles and 1 dish ball. As a person who likes a banana for breakfast I only had to ask one of the servers and I was able to get one. Highly recommend

The customer services provided are top class. Service with a smile and very helpful. Front desk staff walked out from the counter to follow with me to ensure I am alright. Ravean, the Concierge, is particularly helpful and care for the customer. TQ very much. Will come again.

We stayed here last week, restaurants, hawkers, MRT, 100 AM mall, Chinatown are all close by. We had a wonderful view over the Tg Pagar rooftops towards where my mom grew up in Amoy Street which was a real treat! It was askss as I lovely to cool off in the outdoor swimming pool.

Stayed here recently for a quick trip and absolutely LOVED this hotel. The lobby is gorgeous, and the rooms are modern, clean and the comfiest beds! The location is perfect - lots to do in walking distance, and super close to MRT station if you need to get elsewhere. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful, would highly recommend!

Location: Perfect! Walking Distance from Green Line MRT Station. Near park, food center, groceries. Reception: Got no issue except we extended our stay for another night using a different booking. We informed the front desk about it, but the key card they provided is programmed to be valid only until the original booking without them informing us. On the day of our extended day, we can no longer use the card. My husband raised the concern and suggested that the guest should be informed ahead, but the front desk just said that whomever assisted him during the checkin process should inform him. My husband told him it was her, but she didn't say anything about the card. She defensively said NO, it was not her if that person hadn't informed him. Why defensive instead of apologizing to the guest that experienced the hassle. The Room: My review will be on the King room we booked because the first few nights of my husband stay, he was in a twin room. The room is spacious. Love the mirror on the wall for OOTD. I don't appreciate the light control all placed in the bedside. If you get up and forget the turn on the light, there is no option for you inside the bathroom to turn the lights on. The bathroom is nice but they don't have a bidet. I'm not sure if this is the norm. Don't remember this from other hotels we stayed in SG. The shower area is spacious too, but we got an issue with the heating system. It takes time to turn off the heat. And it is only one heat level no matter how you turn the knob. It's just too hot or too cold, no in between. They have blowers, but you need to look for it inside the cabinet. They provided enough toiletries. Their towels are of good quality. We've used the bathtub, and it was perfect. The bed is comfy, and we love the additional couch provided. There is a working area with an office chair. Perfect for business travel as my husband was able to work comfortably here. Like their huge window with a seating area where you can also put in your luggage. The air conditioning in our room is not good. I woke up because i was sweating even if it was set up at 20 degrees. I tried to lower the temperature, but I'm not sure why the button was not working. My husband told me i just need to press harder and multiple times to have it work. Breakfast: Sad, I don't enjoy their breakfast. I'm always looking forward to buffet breakfast of hotels and since this is the most expensive hotel we stayed I have high expectation. Nothing special, according to my husband, nothing much change on their menu on his week stay. I even told him they might upgrade it on weekends since it the busiest days for hotels, but they did not. It was almost the same menu. We only enjoy the chicken sausage, bacon, coffee, and bread. I experienced their fried rice, and Uncle Roger will not be happy with it. Their hashbrown is quite hard. Better hashbrown in McDonald's. I can still remember my favorite breakfast buffet experience in Malaysia even if the rate on that hotel is less than half the price of Carlton.

The cost per night is 250 USD. They do not clean once a day. They don't answer the phone when you call because they need something at the reception. There is no one to pick up your luggage at check-in and no one is there. Never go here, the end of unkindness

  • 5/5 Jhaine Lyka V. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were clean and the bed was big and comfortable. Helpful and approachable staff. The hotel is also accessible by MRT (Tanjong Pagar Station) and is near a restaurant/cafe district (Tanjong Pagar and Craig Road). Lau Pa Sat and Maxwell Food Center are within a 10-minute walk from the hotel as well. But if there was an option, I’d actually rate 4.5 because their breakfast buffet was a bit of a downer (almost same menu everyday). But overall, I enjoyed my stay here a lot.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at anywhere in the world. The service was top notch, friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and very clean. Views are amazing, and the rooftop bar has amazing views over the port and beyond. Cannot fault the place, really.

I had a mixed experience over my stay of 4 nights. I was a little early while checking in and the rooms were not available, which we expected. We were sitting in the lobby, right in front of the front desk. I expected the front desk will call us whenever the room becomes available(because that is what I have experienced at other places). But surprisingly they never did. We went back and asked for the room couple of hours later and now they readily gave us the room. I was surprised with the fact that why didn't they call us and provide us the room as soon as it became available when we were sitting and waiting right in front of their eye sight? Weird! Stay was nice, rest of the customer experience was amazing. Room sizes though a little small for a 5*, but we're still clean and immaculate.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is great, affordable for intercity Singapore. Only suggestion would be an improvement on the room service menu, however it’s not an issue and plenty of other services around. Would recommend if you’re planning to stay and see Singapore.

Restaurant and housekeeping service is not at a 4 star hotel level. Housekeeping not available after 5 pm. On day one, the housekeeper left dirty cups in the room. We couldn't get anyone on the phone to replace the cups. No glasses provided for drinking water. The lobby area , location and infrastructure (rooms, washrooms) are outstanding.

As a flight attendant I've been to many hotels and this is one of my favorites. Always very friendly and helpful staff, modern, clean, central location. I'm looking forward to my next Daiquiri at the Graffiti Sky bar ❤️

The room is smaller than expected. I believe this is designed for business travelers. Room temperature set at 17°C, the room still feels like 22 or higher (after 24 hours in the room). TV is 40", the smallest I ever seen in Singapore hotel. (75" in Conrad; 75" in Marina Bay Sands) Singapore's average temperature is 30 plus, after humidity in consideration. You will find that none of the hotel is equipped with proper bar fridge. I asked the hotel staff, what is this? They said this is call CHILLER... I have to request bucket of ice pretty much every 2 hours. No coffee machine in Executive room.

Overall room is clean and tidy. Location is convenient, walkable distance to chinatown where there are many restaurants open at night time. Most of the staff were friendly, just the indian lady who attended me could have talked in a nicer way. She could have explained the misunderstanding from the platform i booked in a proper way instead of giving me impression that i wanted to get benefits out of it. I basically just wanted to confirm the descriptions stated on the platform i booked fitted with the actual room.

Conveniently located in the middle of the city but away from hussle and bussle, me and my wife enjoyed a long stay at Carlton City hotel. The rooms were cleaned regularly without error and the staff were quite friendly. Had a fulfilling breakfast buffet as well. Overall, a fantastic hotel to stay at in Singapore.

I would like to commend Assistant Reservations Manager Ms Theresa Wong for her remarkable support during a booking hiccup I made online through a 3rd party reservations provider. She guided me through the proper support channel and provided immediate remedies on my urgent date change request. As a first point of service contact, she relays the confidence that the hotel will not disappoint in services standard. Very deserving to be commended.

So, I would be happy to call reception to get a hairdryer for sure. This, I can understand. This is a very confortable place, don’t get me wrong, I love that part. But when I ask a Hairdryer and I don’t get it. And I explain that I need a change of the bed sheets and someone say no problem but when I come back they did not do it …. Better go to a budget hotel you will have the same service! I work in hospitality and never give bad feedback. I do think that if you express your problem people fix it. But obviously they do not care here

We enjoyed our two night stay. The location is great. Returants, shopping and temples within walking distance. The staff were friendly. It was decently easy getting here from the airport on the subway. The room was really clean with nice toiletries. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if im back! The two minor negatives for me was: 1. The door took major force to open and close and when trying to go in/out with suitcases and children that's an added pain. 2. They need to quality check things in the room periodically like the international socket didn't work or at least work correctly. There was sparking and then I never could get it to charge my phone. The light between the beds was also hit or miss whether it was going to come on and one of the bathroom lights flickered.

  • 2/5 Keith P. 10 months ago on Google
Room is ok (4 star expectation). There was a night I called reception to get more water - no one picked up for 5 minutes. Later they called back and I made the request. They said ok and nothing came in the next 10 minutes so I gave up and slept. 30 minutes later they knocked the door and gave me my water :) The door would be closed completely only if I use more power to close it. And when it’s not closed properly, it doesn’t even ring / have any signals so it can be dangerous
