Try to avoid if you can. The hotel is very run down and needs a full refurbishment. The rooms and the pool look nothing like on the pictures, they were probably taken 20 years ago. Don’t be fooled by the look of the breakfast buffet. It’s very average and all the hot foods are cold. The only positive was the location and the beds were comfy. I’d recommend spending a bit more to stay somewhere nicer.

We’ve been staying here a few times whenever we visit Singapore. It’s situated near Sultan Mosque and a variety of restaurants. From Italian to Indian cuisine to lovely pubs. Also great for those who loves mix match gift shops. Would definitely recommend.

The location of the hotel is a biggest plus as its near to 2 metro stations. Very near to Arab street which is picturesque and home to various eateries. The front desk needs to be more compassionate and found to be rude. The rooms are good and have all the facilities for a comfortable stay !

This is an aging hotel. It's the.. you get what you pay for. We picked this place because of the value, proximity of the MRT and the very lively Bugis! The rooms aren't great to be honest, needs renovation and fixing damaged doors and it's not that clean looking. Some bathroom can be tight, the tub was sitting too high. The staff can be hit or miss. 80% of the staff we encountered are good but a couple of times, the guy in entrance was rude. My wife didn't even finish asking a question about taxis and he quickly rub us off and tell us to go to reception desk above floor.. The breakfast buffet aren't very good, very underwhelming and not worth the expensive cost. I would avoid it at all cost if you can.

We selected it for the location. Central to Arab street and everything halal. Restaurants in the hotel are also halal. Rooms are large and comfy. No complaints. I’ll stay here again without hesitation

Location is good. Deluxe rooms are nice. Hospitality could have been much much better. No one comes to collect your luggage and no one will make you feel like you are guest here. Without my approval, cleaner entered in my room when we went to have breakfast. I found it very weird so I checked the purse of my wife, I found that he stole 100$ from 300$ and kept rest 200$ in purse again. I complained to manager but he only investigated for a long time and said cleaner is denying to this so you can file police complaint and hotel can't reimburse you the money. First of all, how could cleaner enter in guest room if guest did not ask to clean the room. Kindly take care of this, if you are staying with village hotel. I felt unsafe so I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Great pricing at $200 per night including breakfast. The room was clean and roomy complete with a smart TV. They also have a gym and restaurant on site. Close to lots of street food vendors and only minutes from the airport this is a great place to stay when visiting Singapore. Highly recommended! 👍

Reception staff are not friendly at all. The lady who checked us in did not smile once and was rude. I requested rooms next to each other but was given 2 rooms on opposite sides of the hotel when the room next to us was empty. The swimming pool was nice but the hotel won't serve any food or drinks at poolside. Hotel and every place in the area does not serve alcohol.

It's located in best location in Singapore. It's one of the hotel that provides halal breakfast. Surrounded by Indian, Arab, Turkish food restaurants for food lovers. Across the road , there is a historical Masjid Sultan mosque to perform daily prayers for Muslims. If you talk about this hotel, it need to be maintained better in cleanliness especially toilets and it's accessories.

Great budget hotel located in the middle of little Turkey, little India and Chinatown. Brilliant to walk around and explore real Singapore. Also walking distance to Albert Center and little India food stalls (hawker centres), just remember to bring cash! The breakfast buffet is pretty good with a mixture of western and Singaporean food. The pool and gym were clean and inviting.

I have stayed in some of nicest hotels around the world 🌎 and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. The level and quality of service from the staff was exceptional and very user friendly 👏 the rooms, the restaurant, the pool, the meeting places all first class and the management has raised the bar on their contributions of excellence and we all know that excellence speaks for itself.

I stayed for two weeks for business trip. The room is spacious but comfy. I can tell that the management put lots of effort to keep the hotel clean, but still it can't hide the fact that it is old. Overall it was still a nice experience for me.

Room was not so clean. Mold was growing on the bathroom door, but daily housekeeping was done appropriately. The service was insufficient. I needed to carry my luggage to the room by myself. Taste of breakfast was good. Location is the best point. It is easy to access anywhere in Singapore.

I don’t even wanna give 1 tbh. I booked the room in advance, and it was confirmed. However, I got a message saying that I needed to do ”card check” at 1 am. And it said that I had to do it within 24 hours otherwise booking would be cancelled. I did it as soon as I noticed the message, but it didn’t work and I had to wait forever. I tried it over 10 times. But never gonna end. just loading forever. I waited over 3 hours totally. I messaged them but they never answer me. Overall, this is sucks. I do recommend this hotel if you strongly want to get in trouble with “card check”.

Room not even clean up when we entered. Slippers will only provide if you request. Made a reservation for birthday dinner but asked to wait after you done the payment. What for to make reservations and double confirm? Service attitude super poor.Dinner buffet not worth the price at all. There are table available when we arrived on time but the staff said cannot. Feels not respect and racist. End up they just take out few small tables and combine it. Rude manner. Used to be there every month last time before covid. Totally disappointed. Just the location is good. That's all

We stayed there for 2 nights on the way from Melbourne to London. The room was comfortable and clean, and it's in a great location in an older part of Singapore. We will be staying there again on our way home to Australia soon.

Really disappointed with the non accomodative behavior of the person incharge of the breakfast buffet Mr. AZMAN and his colleagues.. 1st of all they tell us that they serve jain breakfast and in jain there was sambar, burnt poha and puri.. another day one of our friends wasn't well and again he cud not accomodate our request of giving few pieces of fruits, on top of that he is directing us to 7/11 shop. And the tone and behavior was level apart.. wud recommend not to take a breakfast package with this hotel for sure or better don't book this hotel.

Rooms are a bit dated but are clean, plenty of space and comfortable. Good location for all areas either walking or via MRT (short walk to the nearest station) Pool area is small with a few loungers, pool was lovely and warm and great way to cool off in the heat.

Stayed at the end of August. Booked for two days but could only endure staying for one. Kid's room was underwhelming and disappointing, with a tiny unclean window...see pictures and draw your own conclusion. Amenities were aged or lacking, and pillows and bedsheets smelled moldy and of foot odour. Only saving grace was good service staff and that's why I didn't give one star...but alas, the hotel was unmoving about our refund request for the second night's stay which we forfeited in order to change hotel so as not to waste our staycation. Yes, it was that bad.

Big property group Far East is running this Hotel chain. Pool, Room size, Service staffs are all archive average or more. I think facility is already old, sometimes smelly (I visited here several times), shower room would be improved more. Then satisfaction will improve more. The place is very convenient, near to many spots, city. I can recommend for staycation, also travel from foreign country.

This hotel collects payment inclusive of Breakfast and then denies it. Worst hotel to stay in with Management which never bothered about guests! Add On - you advertised Breakfast were provided and gave us the vouchers without saying it was just a Bento Set while Dining were allowed by Multi Ministry Taskforce provided diners should been Vaccinated Twice. Guests were crowding at your Breakfast Lounge for Bento collection which Failed Social Distancing. Your Front Counter Staff could say "they closed the restaurant cos need to cater food to other hotels' (how rubbish could this reply be?) Once I brought this to your Senior Manager, Breakfast commences as normal for the following day and I did not received my Breakfast for the earlier day & I Paid!

The room was clean, good shower, staff was very nice and they let me check in early as soon as I arrived from airport. There is a 7/11 opposite so getting food & drinks wasn't a problem. The best part is I slept well in the room and well rested for the next day. Keep up the good job.

Rooms are lovely in terms of size and cleanliness. However it's an old hotel and you can see it from the wear and tear of the doors etc. The air on can be very cold especially if you come off the heat outside.

Hotel was nice. Did a last minute reservation and lucky still get the price which is decent. I want to comment on the receptionist Sabrina, an Indian friendly lady that patiently attend to our question. Hence we were late for check in and she told us the rooms is fully booked for the king size bed with bathtub, she took time to look for us to match our request, she is very nice and friendly unlike some other hotel receptionist that only do their job, Sabrina actually goes extra mile to assist on us whatever question and request we had. Hotels need more people like her! ❤️

The decoration of the room is old , the toilet door panel is quite dusty. You need to bring your own adapter for charging. It is recommended that the hotel replace the international socket hole. The view on the high floor is good, and the location is very convenient. It is a 3-5 minute walk to the subway station.

Whilst the location of the hotel is a 5 minute walk to Bugis station, we were surprised at how dated and dirty the hotel was. The reception is located on the third floor and when we checked in they were unable to locate our booking. Thankfully I had a copy of the travel agent’s confirmation! This also complicated breakfast, each time we arrived for the buffet breakfast, the servers had to ring reception to confirm our reservation! Not sure what happened here? Our room was high up in the tower and upon entering it, we were surprised at how old the room looked! Whilst the room was a decent size for a triple and the bedding was very clean, the bathroom had black mould on the roof and on the tiles and the toilet paper holder and the walls around the sink looked as though they had never been scrubbed! Thankfully I carry disinfectant wipes to clean up. The hotel has a large size pool but the decking around the pool has seen better days and needs to be sanded back and varnished again. The buffet breakfast caters to international tastes offering a wide selection of western hot and cold breakfast items and an Indian menu, which was quite nice!

Very nice comfortable and beautiful heritage hotel. Also peaceful area. The staff was very friendly and polite ( especially En Jamal) was very helpful and always offer help. He gave a good info on where to go, and where to find good food, and also where to find cheaper things to buy. The room very spacious and clean. The housekeeping very efficient. They served a variety of food for breakfast. I liked the hotel and fully recommended this hotel for vacation.

We have had 2 recent stays here in a deluxe king room. Excellent value for money. Great location if arriving by MRT with a flat 5 minute walk from Bugis Station (use exit B). Very interesting and vibrant neighbourhood with many food options and heaps of shopping. Excellent check-in experience, very comfortable room where all facilities worked as expected and good pool facility and luggage storage that can be used after check-out if you have a later flight.

It's a famous customer friendly gorgeous Hotel for comfortable staying along with family members for quality food, dinner lunch from its landmark restaurant with other facilities like swimming pool... Bed rooms along with bathroom toilet are well furnished. Hygiene and cleanliness are praiseworthy. It's location is very much convenient for overseas tourists coming from across the globe. The House keeping staffs and management of this Hotel are humble, benign and amicable. Very much friendly and helpful to Indian visitors like me. After all, it's a memorable stay during Singapore City tour in this Hotel in my life. But one thing I must say that it is costly and expensive hotel for low budget customer or tourist. All my thanks and best wishes for them too 💖🙏

Just in case you are reaching by early morning flight ✈️, and if you put in a request for early check in. They may still hold you till 12 Noon for getting your room ready. The best way to deal in such a situation is to leave your luggage and roam the city till 12 Noon and then check in.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. The staff in the dining section (The Landmark) is very rude. The service is bad. Ms. Sita who handles a reception desk in the restaurant is very arrogant and racist. Never been treated so badly. I wouldn’t come to this place again. The view from the room is good.

The hotel is slightly out of the Centre of town ( taxis are cheap) and has seen better days from a maintenance point of view. The pool is great for those blob out days ( could do with a few more loungers) BUT the hotel has an awesome location right next to the one of the most colorful and interesting precinct near the mosque. Murals and eateries and brightly lit this is a must go place. Hotels are for sleeping in but the town is for exploring.. this area is great.

None of the rooms have fridges that are actually cool. They actually have a sign on fridges not to store food in them as they are not cold enough. So the only solution is to keep my milk, food and drinks at reception! It got worse when I saw a cochroche run across the room. They changed my rooms! How is this room rated with four stars is beyond me. They offered me a refund and I could stay at one of there hotels around Singapore! But I would have to pay the current rate which is a lot more expensive. Singapore is my last stop for 3 nights - as I was traveling around Japan and Taiwan. I stayed at APA hotels which are rated 3 stars! I am so disappointed and leaves a bad taste and will never stay at any of the Far East Hospitality Hotels ever again! One star is one star too many.

The booking voucher stated 2pm for checking in for two connecting rooms. I went to try to check in at 1:30 but it was not ready, so I waited at the lobby. I waited till 2:10 and try again, it didn’t happen again. The staff explained and mentioned the previous guests just checked out. Till 3pm, it was not ready yet! Only managed to go in around 3 plus with only 1 room ready. My question would be, why bad planning? If you know You have back to back booking, why allow late check out? I was offered 3 hours late check out , but I didn’t take it as there is no use for me and I also do not want to cause inconvenience to the next group of guests , if there is any. Certainly the first and last time staying there. Nothing much to be said.

Overall it was a pleasant staycation for 3 nights, rooms and bathroom were very clean, we got a family room for 4 of us (I with my wife and 2 daughters below 12 yrs). All staff were very nice, especially Mr. Prem and Ms. Annie were the best... v courteous and helpful to everyone. They arranged special vegetarian (no onion, no garlic) meals for us. The only sad part of our trip was my 3 yr old while coloring on paper by mistake put some crayons on their bedsheet and cover (our fault), and we had to pay a hefty S$ 240 FINE to the hotel for that (was told S$ 340 chgs. initially), so if with younger kids pls be careful... though the hotel gave us the bedsheet and cover in return thereafter, we took it and gifted the same to a needy person, this was my 1st kind of bad experience in a 4 star / 5 star hotel stay.

Rooms clean and better than expected. Checked in at 1pm Sat with ease and was allowed late check out at 6pm Mon. Special mentioned and a BIG Thank You to Ms Rina and other staff from The Landmark Restaurant who sees to our breakfast need for the two nights stay. We even had a great experience with the staff from Royal Palm restaurant who sees to our dinner on our second night.A BIG Thank You to the front office staff for seeing our easy checked in and out during our stay. I stayed here for a total of 4 nights during my visit to Singapore. We headed to Sentosa and stayed at a five star resort other nights. I am giving this hotel a 5 star even though this is clearly not the same. The staff here is amazing! The "trainee" At the front desk is the smiliest, most sweet person we've met in this country (please give her a name tag so we can identity her not as "Trainee"). The hotel is old and you can see signs of age, specially in the bathroom. However, the beds are just as nice, if not more comfortable than the 5 star hotels. You get what you pay for, and for the value, this place is amazing! Everything within walking distance, including the MRT station. Highly recommend!

Village Hotel Bugis is a pretty good hotel. The rooms were clean, however, the toilet was a bit small. The service was okay, staff were responsive to requests. The location was great, in the middle of Singapore. This hotel is a pretty good to stay in Singapore.

While the hotel is dated it was pretty clean and spacious. Large sink so easy to do a small amount of laundry or there are washer and dryer available on 5th floor for sg$10 each. Staff were friendly and helpful and it's not far to restaurants, shopping and public transport. Recommend getting an adjoining room if you are staying with children as then you have 2 bathrooms.

Overall it's good- good and accessible location, daily housekeeping. Although, they can do better in terms of customer service (they sent my luggage bags 3 hrs after I entered my room, and after 2 reminders). I can't comment on the food since I am a vegetarian and they have no or very limited vegetarian options.

It is located in the heart of Singapore Middle East town. It is across the historical & biggest Singapore mosque, Masjid Sultan. Surrounded by eateries & shops. The room is big, come complete with necessities. Only a few hotels in Singapore have Halal Restaurants at it premises. So, no worries if you are a Muslim having a hotel breakfast. Recommended for guests, especially from the Middle East, Malaysia, Brunei & Indonesia, to stay here.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff and service was great, very helpful and very inviting. The location is very central and is only a 5 minute walk from a main train station, a 2 minute walk to Haji Lane and Arab St, and a 15 minute walk to Little India. Keep in mind breakfast is only complimentary if you pay the additional fee upon booking. The only downfall is I would say the rooms need a good deep clean and maybe a fresh coat of paint but overall I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting Singapore.

  • 3/5 Robert S. 9 months ago on Google
The good : A nice hotel with wonderful staff, in a good location, in walking distance of Arab Street and Little India. We had the buffet breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant, which was great, with a wide variety of food options, including curry for breakfast, which was a novelty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, much like the vast majority of Singapore people we dealt with. The hotel has a big pool, which was great to wear the kids out in, and a small gym, which I used to work off the obligatory buffet breakfast curry. The only aspect of the hotel which could use a little attention, is the place could use a reno, quite a few parts of the hotel are starting to look ‘worn,’ and in need of some attention. That being said, everything works as intended, and you get what you pay for. This hotel was much cheaper than many equivalents, which may look ‘fresher,’ but don’t necessarily offer anything more than the Bugis does in terms of amenities or functionality. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't particularly bad but it also wasn't nearly as nice as had been advertised. We clearly ended up with an older, non-renovated room because it looked nothing like the photos posted online. I pre-booked a non-smoking room with a king bed and when we arrived, our only options were a smoking king or a non-smoking room with two single beds. We ended up opting for the smoking room and it definitely smelt like it. Granted, our flight didn't get in until late at night, but the non-smoking room still should have been reserved for us. I also see other reviewers had the same experience and it turned out there was a room available which makes this even more egregious. On the positive side, this hotel is well located so it's still an ok, affordable option if you want a convenient location close to shopping, food, and public transit. Just know what you're getting into first. The room itself was very dated and the furniture was in poor shape. It was clean, but didn't feel that way with all of the bumps on the furniture and permanent stains in the bathroom. They give you the option to put a card on the bed to have them change your sheets. We decided to ask for a change after the first night to see if it would clear out the smoke smell and were disappointed to find our sheets were not changed (there was an obvious pen stain on them that was still there). Thankfully, they did get changed our second night.

Our hotel room was tired and badly in need of refurbishment. Moss growing on the outside of the room windows not good in our minds. However in its favor the hotel is well placed for good bars and restaurants and only a couple of blocks away from metro. Also the breakfast was good and staff very helpful.

The service at the restaurant was terrible. The waitress took our order then about 10 minutes later someone else came back and told us they didn't have the dish I ordered, they also didn't have coke that my husband ordered only coke zero. Meals were ok. We asked 3 different staff for a glass of water. The restaurant was very quiet so couldn't understand why it took 3 people and half an hour to get a glass of water. Do not recommend this place .
