Positives: 1. Check in & check out was a breeze and staff were polite and pleasant 2. Location not too bad; pretty near eateries and City Square Mall (about 8 mins using shortcuts) 3. Nice rooftop pool although only about waist deep for adults 4. Room was acceptable, not big but not terribly small in comparison to other hotels Negatives: 1. Very odd, musty smell in the corridors, not sure where from, probably the carpets 2. Outdated TV with flickering LCD (not a smart TV) 3. Paper thin walls all around - we could hear stomping from the floor above at random hours 4. No bathrobes/bathroom slippers so it isn't very convenient to go to the pool and return to your room after a swim 5. Bed and pillows were SO hard. My partner and I had neck and backaches by the second night Overall, we had an OK stay but we are unlikely to return or recommend to anyone. Unfortunately, we personally didn't feel like the hotel quite met the 4-star standard it claims to be.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were quite friendly and always top tier service professionals. The breakfast offered was usually good, albeit there were option that I don’t typically associate as a breakfast food. The coffee in the breakfast space was disappointingly poor. Buying coffee from the hotel coffee shop or heading across the street to the hardware store will suit you better. Overall, I would return here.

I did not stay here. As a local, my hubby and I were in the area and parked at the hotel to dine at nearby eatery. When we returned my hubby wanted to use the toilet. The check in desk staff asked him loudly what his room number was - obviously insinuating that only guests could use the facility. When my hubby replied that we were parked above, the staff gave a deadpan face. Totally unwelcoming and not the way to treat anyone entering your premises! My hubby and I were just remarking before about how nice the hotel was - neat and clean and welcoming. Now I have to think twice even recommending it to my overseas guests! Treat people properly - you never know how it can impact your business for sure!

Had a lovely stay here, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They helped us with random queries about Singapore, recommendations, location for money exchange, laundry and they gave us a map of Singapore that was helpful to navigate the MRT. The room is very nice, with a great shower! The location is good, well connected to the rest of Singapore, especially Little India. It was also clean and quiet, although the AC was quite loud. There are a LOT of usb chargers dotted throughout the room for charging. Our room didn’t have a closet, but we did have coat hangers and a desk to put our stuff on. The hotel has a rooftop pool, which is wonderful during the hot day, but a bit chilly at night. There’s also a small gym. There is a restaurant in the lobby that is not connected to the hotel, but the staff is happy to suggest cheaper (and better) options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Overall very happy with our stay here.

Rooms are small and beds are not very comfortable. All rooms have a very bright little green light (fire alarm??) on the ceiling that makes it difficult to sleep at night because it's too bright. Whoever decided to make the decision to install this light clearly doesn't know much about interior design or that people prefer darkness when they are sleeping.

The hotel is very good, great location, closer to 2 MRT stations, Bendeemer and Lavender and many Bus stops. It has a nice Tibetan temple just on the other side of it ( literally attached to its wall). Many hawker centers to try out local food.. The breakfast spread is awesome and the menu is different everyday. I made sure that I tried all the items in display ( except beef) , everything were yummy... The staffs are very cheerful, kind and very friendly... Loved the location, ambience, food and cheerful staffs....

To call this a star rated hotel would be a shame to all star rated hotels. They lack the basic hospitality , space and amenities that is expected from such a branded hotel. The gym is a small room with a defunct machine, a threadmill, a cycle and cranked up AC. Their swimming pool is small and hot without a speck of shade, the toilet stinks unbeatably next to it and it was impossible to sit and relax. They display double standards when people bring food at the lobby, some are allowed to eat and drink at pleasure, while others are asked to eat from outside the hotel or inside their rooms. The rooms themselves are a joke with no difference between a cheap and expensive room. They are small, congested and really lack enough lights during the night. My card stopped working before checkout and the same continued with the next 3 cards they provided. There was no hint of apology or a sign of embarrassment from their part in making me go all the way from my room to the lobby multiple times just to get the card right. They simply didn't care. There is racism explicitly shown towards people and you can clearly see displeasure in staff's face while dealing with people like me, people from India. But I have understood that it's not my problem, it's theirs and there is nothing I can do to fix it. All in all, I am glad I have moved out of here finally. Will I come back to stay here? Definitely no. Not recommended for family as the rooms are very small. Stay only if you are a solo traveller with money to spare. Others, please look elsewhere. [Update] : I needed to add this to Roland's response. I am merely sharing all my observations during my stay. I am surprised that you do not know how unclean the washrooms were near the swimming pool. To call the gym an actual "Gym" would not be appropriate as its too small and very much ill equipped. If the broken machine was fixed after my departure, well and good. Regarding the behaviour of your staff, as I have already said, there is nothing I can do to change their behaviour. Mercure Tyrwhitt is not the only hotel I have stayed in Singapore. I wanted to let the people know that there are better and cheaper options available out there.

Horrible place! For this price there many better options. Unfortunately we were booking last min. Leaving 2 night earlier bcoz it is that bad! No customer service, no bell service, no room service. You have to drag your own 30kg luggage yourself. 216 room facing the alley - karaoke music till 2am! Screaming girls, literally thought someone is getting hurt... Sick. Do not come here unless you don't need to sleep.rooms are small, not well cleaned and very cheaply furnished. No where near 4 *

Everything is good except for parking is not friendly to foreign vehicle without an in-vehicle unit. I was forced to pay extra parking (which supposed to be free for hotel guest) for a few times. This needs serious attention or I may not come again. Other than that, room is clean and spacious.

We walked in nearly midnight because of border traffic. The room quite expensive if compare with the size and comfortable. Noisy from the street and our neighbors. We were very tired but couldn't sleep. Very disappointed to choose this hotel with emergency. Mercure on Steven was very good last night. But here is same name but too far different. Room is tiny. The carpet was moldy.

Overall, I had a great experience. staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was small( that is what they can do in a small city like Singapore, I guess) but clean.

Location is close to metro stations so easy to reach. Not much to do in the neighborhood though, as away from main attractions, but some food halls nearby. Tiny rooms though - not sure if it’s how it is in Singapore as a whole or it’s just this hotel. Otherwise service was good and breakfast was very good too.

Truly a horrendous experience, I have not been so appalled by a 4 star standard hotel so far in my life. From check-in to check-out its a disappointment. The check in process was arduous and there was no service to be spoken of. It was as if the staff revelled in making the check in process hard for group bookings, I have an Accor membership and the usual practise of hotels is that I should be able to check in all the rooms and they request for the IDs afterwards, this was a non-existent option it seems for this amazing establishment. Further to add insult to injury, the so called manager came and first thing that came out of his mouth was to tell me to calm down without even listening to what I had complaints about, I truly am amazed how he even got the role in the first place. The only reason I booked 5 rooms with this hotel was because my wedding is held at a venue just down the road and this was the only 4 star hotel within the vicinity and we wanted to make it convenient for my family to commute between the venue and the hotel room. Making things worse, there was a cockroach found in of our our rooms under the pillow, it seems that sanitary standards are a thing of the past for this juggernaut of a hotel. My family and myself checked out of our 5 bedrooms immediately after my wedding because of this and there was absolutely 0 service recovery for the cockroach episode. Truly amazing for a hotel chain as big as Mercure and Accor group. The beautiful photo of the cockroach is as attached.

Best hotel in this budget. Clean and specious rooms with all the basic amenities and good breakfast. Already tried 4-5 another hotel but Mercure is best.

The staff are lovely and welcoming. The porter saw me arriving even before i reached the hotel and came to collect my bag. The staff allowed me to check in early. Rachelle on the front desk was kind and professional. The rooftop pool is briiliant. My only complaint is the room is a tad on the small side for what you pay but the decor is fresh and new. The breakfast is totally overpriced but it's sub contracted out to a commercial catering firm.

Check in and out is a breeze! Bed is big and pillow is comfortable (altho they were out of pillow when we request for additional set) love that hair dryer is ready pin to the wall next to the mirror, convenient. Lots food open till late for supper and cafes for breakfast in the vicinity. Would come back!

Such a 4 star hotel but service is bad, couldn’t accommodate the public. Shouldn’t hotel help the public? Such ridiculous service. If don’t want the public to use the toilet then use a closed door access for the lobby -.- I haven’t booked here before but based on the impression they gave to the public I won’t come here at all. I will advice you guys not to come and booked this place.

In our inaugural visit, my wife and I took a twin room at the hotel for an overnight stay due to the location. It is a two minutes walk around the corner to Singapore Casket, where we are attending wake and funeral services. The space of the twin room is tight but suffice for sleeping. The room is adequately furnished with the basic necessities that include an air purifier. Unfortunately, the hinge of the shower room was loosed, and a bottle of the body wash was not functioning but was provided another bottle soon after. Our room included breakfast that was held at Applause at Trywhitt, which is adjoining the hotel but operated privately. We understand that the breakfast spread is changed every day, and we had nasi lemak spread today. Coffee and tea are available at the vending machine. Breakfast was good and did not disappoint. The staff during check-in were helpful and enthusiastic. We were introduced to Zig (Comfort Taxi Services) to compare prices with Grab when we are in need of taxi transport, which came handy. The hotel is close by to MRT stations for ease of commute as well.

Rooms were in pristine condition with the staff cleaning the rooms everyday. Location wise also very well. Food cafes nearby who don't want to spend the extra bucks for the restaurant kitchen. Very polite and hospitable staff.

The staff are nice. The hotel in general seems old but I think is fine so long is clean. There's a small gym room, kids and adult pool which is good for family traveling with small kids.

It was 12:10 PM on the day I was checking out, and I left my luggage outside my room. I wanted to go back inside for some water, but the door upon being closed and wouldn't let me in because it was already past my checkout time when I was informed you can check out until 12:30. This place says it's a four-star hotel, but it's more like a basic lodge. The breakfast was bad, and the service was terrible. Every morning, they wouldn't let me in for breakfast until they reconcile with their system. On top of all that, Three machines in the gym out of which one was out of order!!!

Our stay at the Mercure Hotel was perfect. Very clean tidy and comfortable. The staff are all very helpful and professional. Our stay was accommodation only, and thankful for that, as the buffet breakfast was $19 +taxes each day. We tried it one morning and couldn't find much to suit an English or European breakfast. There are many places cheaper and accommodating to the western breakfast nearby. This did not taint our view of the hotel at all as we booked accommodation only. However, if I had booked B&B I would have been disappointed.

Very clean and beautiful hotel. Was greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk. Decent room, but toilet was a little too small to move around. No ventilation in the toilet. Bed was comfortable. It’s a little noisy from the streets but luckily I’m a late sleeper. Location was good with foods around.

We booked this hotel in the first week of August. Me and my husband, Mr. Bagchi traveled from india. We received immense support from the hotel staffs. They provided us the room much before the check in time since our flight time was odd. Every staff members were very very nice. They upgraded our room and politely answered every single questions we asked them about transport, currency exchange and what not. We are very happy and definitely recommend this hotel. Neighborhood is not noisy. We found some good cafe and food joints which were open till late night and quiet affordable.

  • 5/5 Michael B. 1 year ago on Google
Yes, the rooms are very small. But this is Singapore, it's hard to get a comfortable hotel room for a normal price. But as I got the Accor Plus red hot deal 50% off, the nightly rate was ok. Room was small but clean. A tap with purified water in the room was great to fill up the water bottle. The bed was a bit too hard for my taste. The balcony was lovely but it was raining a lot so I didn't use it. Great location nearby many transportation options and food courts. It's even possible to walk to downtown. The diamond member welcome drink was weirdly enough only only for soft drinks. There is room for improvement there. I didn't try the breakfast but the restaurant looked good.

  • 1/5 Kukku K. 1 year ago on Google
Very bad customer service. We all were upset with the buffet they provided, they have only minimal options for breakfast. What was most irritating was the lady attender at the counter who always ask us to wear mask while re-filling food from the counter, how is it possible while we are having breakfast.

  • 4/5 Stream S. 1 year ago on Google
Room is clean, bed mattress is comfortable, front-desk staff are attentive and helpful. I was quite delighted that the front-desk staff (3 of them who attended to me) actually went extra mile to make my requests happen. Even the housekeeping staff is diligent and prompt. Thumbs up for the eco-friendly distilled water tap system. The TV however is sophisticated and not so user friendly. Overall, I had a pleasant stay there.

Pro: good location, great breakfast, reasonably priced, quick check in and check out, recently renovated hotel Cons: average comfort bed, high noise levels from neighbours (even if neighbours are simply talking), bathroom and shower is small/ tight

  • 4/5 Alissa G. 11 months ago on Google
Little outside of the city center core, but easily accessible with bus or train. Food shops all around/within the hotel. Rooftop pool with a nice view.  The room has unlimited access to filtered water, a comfortable bed, and spacious enough for two!  Requests for iron/board were actioned fast.  The door allowed light in from the bottom, so that bugged me, but I covered it with my things when I slept. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at Mercure Singapore Tyrwhitt for three days and I love our Privilege Room with its beautiful balcony and well-designed furniture and fixtures. There's also the hotel's signature eco-friendly purified water installed in the faucet as well as the large amenity bottles for the bath (we all hate single-use plastic containers, right?). The local food and art scene in the neighbourhood is vibrant and there are local cafes as well as hawker food centres that celebrate the diverse culture in the area. Food selections at the buffet breakfast were good and I especially love the Chinese section. It can get very busy in the morning though but the staff were very helpful. Overall, our stay was great and we'd love to stay here again in our future trips in Singapore.

First let me highlight all negatives: 1) hotel staff just refused to give cutlery for room saying they are not washed . This occured at 8PM the usual dinner time 2) Air conditioner not working. For our stay of 5 days. 2 days Air conditioner was not working inspite of complaints. 3) design of washroom is pathetic and i got a head injury because of the stupid slope in bathroom. Who keeps a slope in bathroom ??? Positives: good location. Near by food joints are there. Rooms are comparatively clean

Not suggested booking this hotel, the bed is super hard, very tiny room and no views. The view of windows are blocked by another side of the hotel. The website photos are not the same as what you expected. The hotel price is expensive and not reasonable. Very uncomfortable experience I ever had. The toilet and bathing area is super small, barely to move your body when having shower. The showerhead always have water drop even you turn off. Very disappointed to this experience in the hotel. But the reception staff are friendly, only this is the good point. There are some design problems in this hotel, 1) the alarm lighting at the celiling: the green light is super bright, when you turn off all the lighting in the room, the little green light was super bright same as a small lamp, but you can't turn it off. We have to find another thicker papers to cover it when go to sleep. 2) one side of the lighting at the bed is not working. And only one side of the bed have plug. 3) No hand towel provided.

Title: A Memorable Stay at Mercury Singapore Tyrwhitt Hotel! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of staying at the Mercury Singapore Tyrwhitt Hotel on July 7th, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that lasted throughout my entire stay. The hotel's ambiance and design were simply exquisite. The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings created a stylish and comfortable environment. The room I stayed in was immaculate, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed. It provided a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the city. The hotel staff were exceptional, always going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. From the front desk personnel to the housekeeping team, everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. They were quick to respond to any inquiries or requests, making me feel like a valued guest. The amenities at Mercury Singapore Tyrwhitt Hotel were top-notch. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing me to maintain my workout routine even while traveling. The hotel's restaurant offered a delightful culinary experience, with a menu that catered to various tastes. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the service was impeccable. The location of the hotel was also a major highlight. It was conveniently situated, with easy access to public transportation and popular attractions. I was able to explore the vibrant city of Singapore with great convenience, knowing that I could return to the comfort of the hotel within a short time. I was particularly impressed by the hotel's commitment to cleanliness and safety. The staff adhered to strict hygiene protocols, which gave me peace of mind during my stay. Awesome greenery scenery that the hotel took extra effort to add on. Great for people who want to relax their mind while on staycation. Recommended to stay!

It's a decent and new hotel. A lof of little improvements they could work on. The shower doors make no sense (how they open), the toilet paper holder is also not the best designed, the TV picture quality is poor, and the parent company of the hotel is GPHL – which also owns the Fragrance Hotel chain. I am not a fan of Fragrance Hotels at all due to a personal grudge I have them.
