Apart from being close to the metro station for some easy commute to the nearby touristy spots. This place lacks the cleanliness and proper ventilation. The room I received was similar to a matchbox. Within 4 steps the entire room is done. Not enough room to wander or let loose.

Great location, just very dated and in need of a renovation. AC in North West facing units aren't sufficient enough to cool down the room, at night time it'll be OK. Will see cockroaches. Won't be the cleanest hotel, but if you on a budget, it's alright.

Cockroach infested hotel. Suitable for only entomologists or pest exterminators. And my room did not have a mini refrigerator. Very low standard for a Singapore hotel. I do not recommend the Oxford hotel to anyone.

Do yourself a favor. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. You will regret it big time. The rooms do not smell like they are clean, like someone just smoked inside. It looks old. Poor service. Not enough sound-proofing, expect to wake up in the middle of the night. There are better hotels around the area for just a few extra bucks.

All the staff are very kind. But too bad rooms. As soon as I entered my room, I found a wet and dirty carpet. There were very old furniture, beds, and shower room. There was no refrigerator and water was available from the vending machine. And I found a tiny cockroach on the ceiling. And there was a rustling sound in the bathroom. I told it to the manager. The kind manager changed my room and delayed my check-out time.(because it was 4am). But I found a cockroach in a new room, too. I hardly slept. I'm very scared of cockroaches. Fortunately, they approved the cancellation that I requested in advance. This hotel is very close to 2 mrt stations. Price is also reasonable. But...really need renovation.

Location was awesome! Room is very quiet which I loved! The only downside was that there was no toilet shower available, which is not preferred by Asians, particularly Indians.

stayed for 2 nights. cleanliness is pretty good. only the room is an old model and a bit smelly. The AC is not cold enough and does not match the AC panel

3 star Hotel would have been great. It has clean area and friendly staff, but a little short on room cleanliness and aged sanitary towels and bedding. Great location.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE for me. Stayed here 2 nights as there was no other choice for me at the time. I couldn't wait to get out. 1. Room reeks of cigarette 2. Room is very old and dirty 3. Cockroaches!!! 4. Wall is thin. You will hear all noises and talkings from other guests. Worse is that at 1am a hotel staff was arguing with a guest to be quiet but she ended up being louder than the guest. Their argument woke me up. 5. Stained bed sheet. 6. Shower cabin can't be shut properly, so water leaks to the floor. 7. Toilet still has urine stain when I checked in. That means the room wasn't clean properly. 8. The fridge is old and dirty. There's weird smell in it. 9. No power outlet near the bed. 10. No card security for elevators. Anyone can just come up.

Location amazing. Staff friendly. But couldnโ€™t get over the horrible smell as soon as you get off the elevator. I understood why it smelt once on we got in our room. Musty smell, poor circulation for shower-black mold all over the ceiling above the shower. Carpet dirty. Saw a cockroach crawl into the peeled wallpaper. Rooms just need to be updated.

The room was big enough for 3 adults. Just donโ€™t bring big luggages. Customer service was very good and front desk were friendly. Lobby was clean. But 2 coffee cups (out of 3) had coffee stains. I advised front desk and they immediately sent clean cups. Room was outdated and needed new wallpapers as these were peeling off in one corner near the window. Saw small cockroaches in the closet and in the bathroom. Bathroom had black molds in between tiles and never felt clean. I must say, though, the beds were comfortable and we always felt rested every morning. I donโ€™t know why people are rating them 4 stars. Is it just our room (room 412) that was so bad? I donโ€™t recommend room 412 (Super Triple) if you bring children. If youโ€™re adults, just imagine you are going camping. Thatโ€™s what we did.

If you're a traveler exploring Singapore, spending most time outside while needing a convenient, no-frills place just to sleep then this hotel is perfect. Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste and comb or buy them at nearby convenience stores (200-300m away) as this hotel doesn't provide such things. Entrance to the subway is just across the street while as for eating, you can find all kinds of food courts, coffee shops and restaurants just a short walk away to ANY direction - and that's what makes this hotel stand out from the rest !

If u are budget goer. I think not an bad idea. Just put your expectation as basic as possible and just a room to stay, is a great choice.

Stayed for 8 days. Location is nearby Bras Basah mrt. Bus stops are 5 - 7 mins walk. Good to stay here if you plan to do a lot of walking around town area. There are walls with graffitis nearby which reminds me of Melbourne or Miami. Staff are courteous, my limited mandarin helped a lot since the cleaners (who come everyday) doesnโ€™t speak english. Cons:โ€จ- No amenities (pool nor gym). - Shower door leaks out the water when bathing. Itโ€™s annoying that the floor is always wet. Maybe room problem? - No complimentary bottled water (ainโ€™t this already a hotel standard) - No elevator card key access, anyone can just go up. In retrospect, the lift is undergoing repair that time. Still, scary. - Window cannot open (safety reasons?) breathe of fresh air will do since the carpet still reeks of cigarette smell (went away after 3 days; or is it I have grown accustomed to scent, haha. )

went there and was unaware there was an ongoing reno, phone line to the room was affected and had someone knocking at 10am asking loudly "your phone not working ah?" so we took that as a sign for our check out and checked out an hour earlier. also we realised that no toothbrushes were provided. my partner and i went across to check in, unshowered with stinky teeth haha. it's not all bad, my previous stays there was great. just do be more aware of ongoing renos when booking.

The corner room or last unit is small and just enough for an individual to stay for a night or two. Aside from the bathroom and wardrobe, there is a small television and a kettle in the room. The hotel does not have other amenities that encourage guests to explore the areas around the hotel. The hotel does give off a feeling of privacy and secludedness by being small. But it is not hard to find as the landmark and the appearance of the hotel are easy to remember. Prepare to walk to the nearest public transport or hail a ride. There are plenty of options when it comes to dining.

The location is central and walking distance to places we like to see. Satish, the receptionist, is very helpful. The rooms are ok. Some rooms are just big enough for staying in and sleeping from a busy day. Not particularly exceptional but the bed is comfortable.

Quiet location but convenient as the Bras Basah MRT is nearby. Two food court nearby. Hotel & room is a bit dated but acceptable. Good service and friendly staff. Great location & value stay. Recommended.

We stayed there for one night a few days ago. Not satisfied because NO drinking water was provided. Not even a kettle. Bath towels were overused and not clean enough. Toilet door was broken. Overall, not in good condition

Do not book this hotel. The hotel is not worth the money you pay for the rooms. Everything is broken or worn out. The service is awful and they charge your credit card without discussion. A revolting place to stay.

the room is an ok size but smells musty. carpet needs to be replaced urgently, bathroom needs a heavy cleaning (black crusts), and the hotel needs to be renovated. Everything smells like mold and is quite old, the windows don't open, the exhaust fan in the bathroom doesn't work properly and it's not worth the price

  • 2/5 Emily S. 1 year ago on Google
Location wise; it's quite accessible from Bras Basah station but by bus, maybe not. Close to Bugis+ but not much there to look around unless you cross 1-2 streets away. Room wise; none of their rooms as mentioned by the staff, have a mini fridge so that's a down side. In their Klook listing, apparently there's a restaurant but that's closed permanently. There is a small TV in the room but it doesn't work at all. A few baby cockroaches running around, bedsheets have stains, shower leaks out to the bathroom area, carpet have many stains, lights are very dim. Water has a funky smell too so it's better to buy drinking water from the nearby 7-11s. Oh and the "do not disturb" and "do not clean" lights do not work, so you will get daily wake up calls from their cleaners. If you don't answer, they will continue knocking until you answer the door. Scary thing is, they might barge in with their key card and you'll be rudely awaken because the door locks don't really work and the latch swings open easily. Phones don't work properly, WiFi is not secure so best to use VPN while using their WiFi.

The Oxford Hotel has only one advantage, it is 150 meters from the Metro, the room is stuffy, damp, the floors are carpeted, but cleanliness deserves zero points out of 10, not opening the window causes us to ventilate the room. If you say that proximity to the metro is enough for me, you can stay in the barn, you are in the right place.

The location is great but the room is just ok. They have weaknesses in Wi-Fi, cold showers, and noisy equipment.

  • 2/5 Nico S. 1 year ago on Google
For such a high cost you'd expect functional Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi connection is terrible in the hotel, there is no fridge in the room and the rooms smell bad. Clearly they only care about cutting costs and maximizing their profit. After travelling months in "developing countries" in SE Asia and not having any problems with Wi-Fi in cheap rooms I'm shocked to see that a hotel charging over 100 dollars per night in the country with "the fastest Wi-Fi in the world" can't even support a zoom meeting. Surely there are better alternatives.

It's an old vintage room style , shower water has some weird and not nice smell and like everyone said there's you can find insect in your room. Otherwise it's fine it's near bras basa mrt. And you can go bugis if you go North from hotel. Otherwise it's an ok hotel

Very old and dated, room has cockcroach, dryer is not working and the water flush is not working properly as well. Apparently the employee knew the room has been sprayed for cockroaches yet asking me to take a photo to show it to her....very unpleasant experience, would not go there again.

My stars are based on price and the room that we got. Although this is one of the more affordable hotels in this area, it still doesn't match the price to its rooms. This is a 4star hotel price with 2star rooms. Front desk is helpful, location is great...

Reception staff are ok. Good location. I did not stay here so i can't comment about the rooms. I was here at the lobby to meet a visitor from Australia. Room rate seems ok. Reception and parking area are well maintained and neat. The hotel surroundings are neat and clean

In need of renovation or intense carpet deep cleaning. Years of smell has soaked into the carpets. Unsatisfactory toilet ventilation. Great price and location, nevertheless.

My partner and I had an amazing experience in this budget-friendly hotel. We really loved that the hotel is located midpoint of Chinatown and Little India, and just a few minutes walk to the nearest MRT station (Bras Basah), Catholic Churches, Bugis+ Mall, 7eleven, and McDonald's. Despite being not as prestigious as that of a five-star hotel, our room is still homey with enough space for moving and putting our things, with lots of available storage. We also have our own mini fridge, hair dryer at the bathroom, and TV. The hotel also has its own restaurant and vending machine which is so cool and convenient. Reminder for those interested to check-in that the hotel does not provide toothbrushes and toothpastes so you may bring your own or buy outside. I also recommend bringing of a Singapore outlet-compatible adaptor and at least one electrical extension. Outlets for our room (standard double) are only enough for the appliances (not sure for other rooms though). Thank you to the hotel staff for their service! ๐Ÿ™‚

A price-reasonable hotel. However, the room space is relatively small and the facilities are downgrade somehow. Location: easy to move to public transport system, especially bus

I cancelled my booking 15days before the check in date through Agoda the cancellation is successful and i should get a full refund but they did not refund it. I called many times and the manager kept saying they will call me back which they never did. Such a scam.

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at for quite some time. The smell on the 5th floor corridor is horrible, but it was worse in our room. Constant damp smell. Everything is tired and old. Black mould around the shower, black mould in bathroom grout. Bathroom fan inoperable. The noise between rooms wakes you up and then there are the Cockroaches.... In our 4 nights we had around 8 in our room / bathroom. One running on our bedside table at night and several in the corridor. Hygiene is lacking and the attitude of one of the staff was seriously lacking. Our group for a joint birthday / honeymoon had x5 rooms. On check in an error was made in the rooms, although this was sorted out it was made out to be our fault and the attitude of the staff at the time was far from apologetic over the mistake. This is not a three star hotel :- Koh Brothers investments.. you should be ashamed of the hotel and making Singapore look bad. Strong warning to others looking to book!

We opt for a small room for 3 persons. The room was clean but not its carpet (the whole room was carpeted), but the location of the hotel was really good. We went to Singapore for Eason's concert so a hotel near MRT to the stadium is the best choice

  • 5/5 fitriana p. 1 year ago on Google
Front desk is very helpful, kind, and communicative. Room was clean, crisp, with hot water running smoothly. Power plugs only available near tables (none near the bed), i guess thats how sg hotels do since my 2nd hotel also has similar plugs positioning. Located in the middle of bugis area, lost of food options, with easy access to 2 mrt stations. Very recommended to stay while visiting sg!

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on 24-26 September 2023 for three days. At 2 a.m. on the second night, I was lying on the bed sleeping. I heard a strange noise in my ears. At first, I thought it was a mosquito. I waved my ears, and soon there was a strange noise in my ears. At this time, I woke up and heard the noise coming from under the bed. I was frightened to death and did not dare to open my eyes. My whole body was stiff and did not dare to move. I didnโ€™t know how long it took, but the noise finally disappeared. I got up from the bed and saw nothing. The next morning, we notified the hotel and asked to change our room. This was the first horrific incident we have encountered in decades of traveling!
