We have booked a room with breakfast through Booking.com. The breakfast in this hotel was the worst experience I have ever had in hotel ever!! (I know this is a pandemic and the hotel kitchen is closed, but I have been in another hotel couple weeks ago and they were able to provide great breakfast regardless) On the first morning we have received Chinese style breakfast - cold noodles with chicken wing. Talked to the receptionist and she changed our breakfast for western. Woke up to find dry toast bread with ham and cheese, fruit, soy drink and Spanish yogurt. The day after we received tuna croissant, some meat paste pastry and little raisin cake. Nothing was fresh at all. Talked to the receptionist again if it’s possible to get a refund and cancel the breakfast which was declined because apparently we booked with Booking.com ? The receptionist than asked what we would like to have for breakfast. I have explained that all I want is fresh breakfast, fresh bread, maybe some ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, some juice, fresh croissants, butter, jam… just normal western breakfast. Since that day they gave us everyday the same cold scrambled eggs with piece of dry toast, piece of ham and toast style soft cheese, the same yogurt and 100ml canned juice that you can usually see in the airplane? On arrival we have been given wrong room with double bed even though that we booked king size but the nice lady at reception gave us our room with no problem. Overall its a nice clean hotel, but the breakfast are not worth it! Don’t waste your money and hotel management please don’t offer breakfast if you are not able to provide it.

This maybe an old hotel but the upkeep is good. Staff are attentive and location is good. Rooms are spacious enough. Linen a bit thin but bearable. Cleanliness is maintained

Pros: - Good location. My friend and i bought our dinner at don don donki nearby and ate in the hotel. Very good location for staycation - Bedding and pillows were super comfortable. Like crazy. - The TV was a decent size. - There was a small bathtub, though I didnt use it. - I requested for an extra chair in the room and they sent someone up with the chair right away. - Room attendant I met in the hallway was very friendly. The counter staff not as much. - Built in water dispenser + heater in the room that dispenses both room temp as well as boiling water. Very convenient. - Gym is small but has the essentials. Iirc dumbbell rack, treadmill, exercise bike, stepper. Cons: - A VERY BIG ISSUE for me and my friend (both girls). The temperature was fixed at 16C, as mentioned by other reviewers. We were freezing through the night and had to off the aircon. We were also so cold we didnt feel like showering (but in the end we did). I was also on my period so I was quite uncomfortable. If it weren't for the comfortable bed... sigh - The pool is right next to all the airconditioning units and the buzz is pretty loud. So... dont expect to hang around the pool to relax because it's not relaxing at all. Also no food and drinks there. The pool is also short, probably 10m or less in length. - Complimentary tea and coffee selection is very limited. Just 2 packs of 3 in 1 coffee and 2 packs of red tea. :/ tea or coffee lovers do bring your own. - I also don't understand the lock situation because the swing lock inside the room doesnt catch on anything to properly lock from inside... Overall, I think its a good hotel for people that dont plan to stay in the room nor use the hotel facilities to relax. Its right on the side of orchard/somerset so perfect for people looking to shop and play and eat, and just need a room nearby. BUT very bad for staycation/getaway. I feel like I overpaid because I didn't really get to relax around the pool nor in my room due to aforementioned cons.

❌ bad experience @ hotel grand central on 18/12/21 (highly unrecommended!!!) - hotel staff @ receptionist area are not pleasant - air-con is not working well - sewage musky smell upon entering the room - entrance light and curtain light cannot be switched off and had to sleep with these lights on throughout the night - maintenance team off duty at night, hence the security guard came up to assist and am grateful he tried to help but no solution given - breakfast was not up to standard in terms of it being cold and hard (sandwiches + egg tart + fish fillet + yogurt soya bean packet drink) - spoke to receptionist and manager at midnight and check-out time respectively, and requested for some form of compensation - manager said they will have a discussion and get back to me - received a call from the hotel on 20/12/21 and apologized for the bad experience - communicated that it was my dad's birthday and person on the line said that if I am around the area, he wants to treat me to lunch? - said that we would prefer a compensation just for the top-up for the room which we paid (less than $100), manager refused - hence, went ahead with this negative review with no objections from him

I LOST THINGS AT THIS HOTEL. This is my first experience of losing things in a hotel room. I am someone who likes to travel. And I like to collect goods from other countries. It's very sad when a collection item that we just bought, just disappears. I just stayed 3 nights at the hotel. But it was very unfortunate that after I reported it to the receptionist, they only said they would ask the cleaners, and after waiting a long time they only said they didn't see any of the items in question. The hotel should prioritize customer satisfaction, and not make customer losses  something free. Hopefully this experience will not happen to others again. Holidays should bring happiness, but this actually makes our vacations flawed.

Let’s talk about the pros. For singles and couples trying to get peace and sleep, this is great. It’s located in the middle of orchard, between two MRT stations about 10 minutes walk. Food, drinks, and just about anything is accessible around the clock. So location is fantastic. Now it’s a little complicated. Room isn’t that bad. Water pressure for my room is fantastic. Water heats up fast. If you need drinking water, there’s a pretty powerful hot/cold water dispenser for that. My room has two cups, and sachets for tea and coffee. For a hot day, the aircon also works fast to cool the room down in about 5 minutes. Room pillow, duvets, and sheets are comfortable, but depends on your preferences. I like a firm bed, so my spine gets good support. Now the cons. Make sure you have a direct HDMI cable to connect to the TV. As most of you know, internet TV boxes are useless. This is no exception. Bring in your own tablet or laptop, use your phone’s 4G to connect to the internet. If you’re streaming, this is the only way to get uninterrupted bandwidth (thanks Singapore). If you want good food, just head down to hawker centers and food courts all around you. I strongly advise against eating in restaurants, unless you know what you’re going for. Don’t expect too much else, because it’s covid. Stay alert, not anxious. Mask up. Wash your hands.

Staycayed for two nights. First night, the additional doorlock wasn't working so we called the frontdesk, the serviceman came and check, and told us we don't need the extra lock as its safe, they have alot cctvs as they had cases that people got stuck in the room when there was an emergency instead. Then, the aircon temperature was inadjustable, stuck at 16 degrees, we had to turn off the aircon in the middle of the night. Requested for an extra pillow, but was told the housekeeping was already off-duty, in the end they did get us an extra pillow without pillow case. Bathtub was smaller than usual size and hot water needed to turn to the left instead of the right (no instruction given), we were bathing cold water. The fridge was not working properly as well. We bought ice-cream, it was all melted The next day, we complained to frontdesk, they got the aircon fixed. And also told us how to turn on the hot water. The extra pillow was still naked after they cleanup our room. The plus points for this hotel: its in orchard, near to shopping malls and it has swimming pool.

This is the place to be! Affordable, yet everything you need. Clean and very central located, near a node of MRT lines. Although we have stayed in 5-star hotels before, with spacious rooms, we didn't lack any luxury in this 3-star hotel. The room was average in size and it had everything we needed. I was very pleased with the bed (on which we slept very well), the large window from ground to ceiling with beautiful view of the internal garden, the bathroom with a very convenient layout, the very good working airconditioning, the cooker with instant hot water, the very friendly and helpful staff (especially when you need a taxi), the clean rooms and housekeeping, the mini breakfast buffet in sister hotel Chanchellor (with even delicious warm (Indian, Chinese and European) dishes, but also toast, yoghurt and fruit), and last but not least the proximity to public transport. It was only a 5 to 10 minutes walk to metro (MRT) station Summerset (the red line) or to MRT station Dhoby Ghaut (the red, purle and yellow line) and there is a lot of shopping malls and mini supermarkets nearby (7 elevens) on walking distance. It is by far the most central located hotel in Singapore. If you are staying as a tourist, this is the place to be!

I am lucky to get a quiet room in a corner, Room 821, which is clean and bigger than what I had imagined after reading about the negative reviews. Check-in was relatively fast on Saturday at about 1.30pm. Room has no smoking smell and is clean. I have sensitive skin and the bedsheets are clean as I have no negative reaction, although I didn't test the comforter cover. Glad that the comforter covers the whole mattress, keeping it dust free. There's a hot and water dispenser, great for families. I like the simple deco although it looks dated. Toiletries include 3 bottles of shampoo, 3 bottles of body wash, 2 soaps, 2 toothbrushes, 2 boxes of tissue. There is no cable TV, only YouTube. I booked the room using the Singapore Discovery Voucher. If not, the current rate between $200 to $280 is too high despite its good location at Orchard, opposite Somerset MRT Station.

The hotel reception did not tell detail information about the breakfast n make up the room. Call the service line also ask u to refer to the TV. Do not had the feel that I am staying hotel. The room was quite small specially the toilet . It does not come with the hair cover .went up to the swimming pool the pool is run down nobody really maintain it . No life guard also .overall I feel the stay is not worth the price .

Staff very friendly and helpful however it is under my expectation, no fridge, the chiller not even chill. The management should look in the laundry for the pillows case and bedsheet. The housekeeper is very thoughtful bringing me some " clean" pillows case but it still have minor smell. There is a very friendly and helpful uncle helping me to bring my luggage to the room. It is the company pressure and treasure to have all good staffs like you.

I didn't have high hopes for this place, but it was one of the few hotels within the Somerset area that was within my budget, and boy, was I surprised! The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping even turned down my room when I was out during the day. The shower was a little small (and I'm not a big guy at all) and I bumped my elbows a few times on the wall but it wasn't a big deal. My other complaint was that the air conditioning could not be adjusted above 20 C. It was a pleasant 3D2N stay. Service at the front desk could be better, but the more I visit Singapore the more I realize Singaporeans are not the warmest or friendliest of Asians.

Spent 5 days here in deluxe room. It was clean. Relatively small rooms (apparently as all rooms in Singapore). Located between D2 MRT stations (closest is Somerset). Bathroom was clean. House keeping cleaned rooms daily. Had to go to the adjacent hotel for the breakfast as both hotels had a common restaurant these days. Meals were average and ok for me. Roof top swimming pool was available without an attendant (Looked not very well maintained). Had a water dispenser for cold/hot water. Tea and coffee making facilities, soap, shampoo and other bathroom amenities. No bidet shower was available.

Covid19 measures were not followed in this hotel.I have submitted an complaint against them to agoda with evidence. One of their staff tina was walking around the hotel without her mask. Their hotel accepts people who come from the airport if they want to quarantine themself while waiting for their results. But they ensured that this group of people will take a different entrance to the hotel. While i was waiting to check in,this guy from china came in with his luggage and came to check in without doing any travel declaration and etc.Only when he was at the counter they were asking him like do you want to quarantine, have you done your swab test and etc. When i asked a guy staff and a staff named jennifer about this. She kept telling me i do not understand what's your problem. They were not able to answer my queries and keep ignoring my question about their covid safety measures. I did not check in here as it is not covid safe hotel as stated. Covid measures are not being followed in this hotel. They did not wanted to cancel my staycation saying that it is non refundable. That they cant give my money back. So i left and went to look for another staycation. I will not recommend anyone to stay here! Horrible hotel

Very run down hotel with extremely poor customer service. Check in counter personnel need to learn how to smile and be a little bit friendly. Absolutely appalling customer service from the moment we approached the counter. Judging from all the other reviews on Google. I was not the only one who thinks the service from her was rude, obnoxious and arrogant. All they care about is making every cent out of the guests. The rooms are extremely mouldy and run down. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting with hair in the bathtub, soap scums on the shower screens. Minibar fridge was not cleaned, still with brown stains on the bottom shelf. The shelves were dusty and hair were found on the bed/under the pillows. The list goes on. This would have to THE most horrible hotel experience in my 10 years of constant work travel. It is not even worth a 1 star rating. ESPECIALLY not worth the amount we paid for the hotel. We would never recommend this to any of our family and friends. Please train your front counter team how to "Meet and Greet" all guests. If they do not want to be there, they need to find a new career. The only positive aspect of this hotel is the service from the security/ concierge, who was so helpful and friendly. He was an old man, but he was always so positive and approachable.

this hotel does not deserve 4 stars, dated room, an old system that distributes warm water for cold water, forced to go to 7/11 to buy bottles. a swimming pool under renovation during the stay without being warned

Very bad service! Extremely unprofessional staff. Did not clean the room when we asked the receptionist she said that cleaning is once every 2 days? So what do we put money in here for? This is really the service of a 4 stars hotel? Housekeeping could be skipped but they didn't even change the towels for us! when i asked the reception she gave me the towels to use for the swimming pool, really confusing! When asked again, she said she ran out of towels? Why are there no towels? 4 stars hotel even worse than a cheap motel! Even the swimming pool towel has a chili sauce stain that has not been washed yet. Came back to my room and give them 2nd chance but they didn't even answer my call, I called 5 times! The pool water is clean but there is a lot of sediment in the bottom. The fridge smells disgusting, I think the only way to improve this awful hotel is to demolish it over and over and fire all the unprofessional staff, especially the receptionist. Do not recommend everybody stay here!

Had a problem when we went there that day but it was all settled and we got an apology. Overall it's quite nice and we even get to have the whole pool yo ourselves! Oh and I do love the soap they provided for us! Side note: I have no idea how the hot water in washroom works, I couldn't turn the heat down so it's basically jacuzzi for me in there thanks :') Staff doesn't seem that friendly but doesn't really bother us as long as they are not rude

Strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Chose the option for double bed when booked an week in advance. When arrived, receptionist told us that they are left with only twin bed. I was told to contact agoda to cancel if i wanted. Agoda booking is non-refundable at that time. I see no point in booking in advance since hotel do not honor the booking. Poor management and attitude of receptionist. No replies on enquiries asked through agoda special request or emailed directly to hotel, poor service. Had to sign off a lot of indemnity of the hotel as compared to other hotel. Aircon take hours to become cold. Poor sound proofing thus resulting in a very noisy morning cause by talking and shouting in the corridors. Room look old but acceptable. Bed is comfortable. Base on price point to level of poor service and horrible experience, will not return to this hotel ever again and strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel staff at the front desk are very unfriendly and very unhelpful. This place is more like a gulag than a hotel. I would not recommend it. The rooms are not as pictured. I’m staying as a quarantine and treated as a leper. Do not stay here! The lady at the front should work at a prison! Not a hotel…she is very rude! Also for companies considering lodging their employees for quarantine look elsewhere. The food that is payed for in advance is always cold. Barely enough to support a child. I cannot express enough how inadequate this hotel is!

Great location in the middle of Orchard Road close proximity to shopping and food area. Clean rooms and cheaper than other four stars hotel in the area. Enjoyed my 5 days stay in the hotel!

Great location, nice for family as well. Rooms facing the road is great. Dhobi ghat os better station as no need to cross any road. There is another hotel behind and if you opted for breakfast, you need to go there. 7-11 is too close. Outside Thai restaurant is just ok, better to go in the evening there.

The room's refrigerator barely cools the drinks that we placed inside. We asked the staff to replace the unit but the replacement unit was no better. The hair dryer in the toilet and bath also did not work. It started working only the next morning. Likewise, nobody answered our calls to the front desk at night for our inquiry regarding WiFi access. We had to resolve it ourselves. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. It's right in the middle of Orchard road which makes it convenient for tourists to access the shopping centers nearby.

Hallway of the hotel has an unpleasant smell. The room socket outlets casing are dropping off. There is no bidet in the toilet. Bathtub is way too small for an average size person. One of the receptionist (a chinese guy) was not even friendly to us & abit arrogant. Not recommend to stay at this hotel. Definitely a 2.5-3 star hotel.

  • 1/5 崔潇琳 7 months ago on Google
Very, very bad. The woman at the front desk looked down on Chinese speakers. When we were drunk and needed help brushing our passports upstairs, she didn't tell us the room number, which led us to enter the wrong room and blamed us for not remembering the number. Even after we showed our passport number, we were left to wait alone, but the hotel wrote the service in Chinese, too bad, whoever came was unlucky。

Clean hotel, good service, wonderful location. Slept well as the beds are very comfy. Staff made up our room everyday. The shower design (bathtub type) is the only negative, it’s very slippery and prone to accidents.

I used to quite often staying at this hotel while visiting Singapore because of its location, price and water dispenser in the room. But recently I stayed there and was not satisfied with the service. I booked my rooms since January and inform them with my rooms requirements and reminding them again just a week before my arrival - all via Whatsapp and email (due to my conditions of traveling in group with two babies and 1 toddler). Sadly when I arrived they mixed up a little with my requirements (told them already that my eta around midnight), I did complain and they only said ‘their cleaning service is not around since it’s midnight’ and did not offer me to fix it up with my need by the next day. This one I still can accept. One night my baby just throw up and mess up the bed and blanket. They just gave me the bedsheet and told me to change it by myself because ‘the cleaning service is not around’ I didn’t even get the new blanket until the next day. You know it’s eleven pm and I have baby with me! Can you just hire cleaning service that able to work at night shift?? P.S. I’m not blaming two helpful security guys whom helped me to find new bedsheet

Clean hotel and location is very strategic. Accessible to nearby bus stops and located just behind Orchard. Price is also affordable at such location. There’s also water dispenser inside the room which is very convenient and no need worry about drinking water. But the hotel doesn’t have a slope for luggage or wheelchair to enter the lobby.

  • 5/5 Regina H. 11 months ago on Google
It is true that the hotel is quite old. I spend a week there and had a pleasant experience. Linen is clean and toiletries are replaced every day. The double bed is quite small tho so had to fight for space 😂. But it is quiet and had close access to MRT and City Bus. What more can I ask. The price is also super affordable. 5 stars from me.

The hotel room is clean and pretty decent. Please be aware that the key card is also used in the elevator. However, all my key cards are not working and I couldn't choose the floor I would like to go to. I have to keep asking the hotel to fix this problem every morning.

Busy place. Many clients stay here for 1 or 2 days to establish a sojourn out of another SE Asian country just long enough to get a return visa. Visa acquiring experts are easy to find. They'll help to fill out your application and then stand in queues at the appropriate embassy with your passport and return with it stamped. Done within 24 hours and absolutely reliable and trustworthy. Nothing wrong with the accommodation and it's right there in one of the world's greatest shopping districts. Has a sauna, steam bath, and massage spa down the escalator from the lobby. The young ladies there are extremely accommodating and provide much more than a happy ending massage. And their "tip" is a very reasonable price in a very expensive city.

It’s a fairly good hotel given its 3-star ranking; it has a pool that is not much in luxury, but gets the utilization done. The rooms are okay with a view of the surrounding buildings. They have an automated water dispenser as well; it takes time to adjust to but is manageable. The lobby is decent but I would prefer a ramp for the luggage in the front entrance; the steps to the front are not that many or steep, thankfully

  • 5/5 Mohamed T. 8 months ago on Google
The hotel's location is perfect for both business and leisure travelers. It's conveniently situated close to major attractions and public transportation, making it easy to explore the city. Despite its central location, the room was surprisingly quiet, allowing me to unwind and relax after a long day of sightseeing or work.

  • 4/5 Nigel B. 10 months ago on Google
Great bed and pillows. Our room was 25 sqm which is large for a budget hotel here. Location is the main attraction. So close MRT and cheap eats. I have never had servants so I can't complain about the workers here. Everyone has been helpful.

please do not claim as a 3-star hotel. the hotel has no security staffs or anyone that could help in the lobby, except the receptionists behing the table. the room was smelly. the bathroom was (omg) very small. they have this bathtub all together with shower and you need to climb into the bathtub (i said climb because it is quite high) to have a shower. i can not imagine how the elders could take a shower in this thing. the only good thing about this hotel is the location. i would appreciate if they give reasonable (not cheap) price due to their location. but not claiming as a 3 star hotel. tip : NOT SUITABLE FOR ELDERS OR CHILDREN

This is pretty old hotel but good location with a decent hotel equipped neccesity for hotel guest. Some upgrade like the water dispenser in the room for hot and warm water are pretty convenient but also tricky. Advice to give a guidance to avoid water spill over.

The counter staff are not very friendly & helpful!  Even though we stated clearly in our booking remarks that we chose your hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday, it seems the counter staff don't bother at all. And we've paid for the parking fees and it still has been charged with our cash card & till to now no call from the authorities and a refund.

This is a place that is on Orchard Road that is walking distance to the malls and stations popular with tourists. Here, you rest after a day of exploring and shopping the city. Don't be foolish. Experience the awesome rooftop view. The rooftop has 2 pools. It would have been nice if they kept the rooftop open to guests on New Year's Eve for the countdown. They could even charge for tickets to the rooftop for a New Year's Eve celebration since the view is really very scenic. TV here is pretty old. No screen casting. No Netflix or YT. Room views of the courtyard aren't very appealing. Perhaps if the courtyard had some cool things happening it would be worth it to draw the curtains open.

We enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, accommodation is good. We were on high flr corner room and its quiet. Clean bed and sheets. Complete TV, wifi, aircon, iron and iron board, vault, hairdryer in bathroom, rainshower head and handheld shower, hot and cold water dispenser is a plus to this hotel. (anytime available). Free slippers, shower gel and shampoo nice smell, toothbrush and toothpaste freshen breath, toiletries complete. Breakfast is more than enough. Usage of swimming pool safe by booking so its kinda exclusive an hr of usage . Overall satisfied stay at affordable price. Recommended. Worth it.

Great location, old hotel. Room was ok. Great idea to have a water dispenser in the room, but look at the hardened grime at the water outlet! It's so disgusting! The check in procedure was so tedious, so much paperwork even the reception staff were confused. Just make electronic forms already!! Pool was ok, but need to book early. So called "gym" only had a stationary bicycle... Not bad experience, but probably won't stay again

This is an old fashioned hotel managed by old fashioned people and is situated in the orchard street. Do not expect too much like a warming welcome at the reception. The facilities such as swimming pool and the gymnasium is also minimalistic. However, the cleanliness is up to good standard for a three star hotel. You have an old fashioned drinking water supply in the room. The bathroom provides emergency call just like any old fashioned hospital. You cannot expect better for that price in the orchard street, right?

Good central location. However, room was not as clean. Hanging art pieces could do with abit of dusting. Musty smell due to old furniture or carpet flooring. Dustbin at lift lobby also littered with loads of rubbish. Overall, hotel stay was convenient due to central location.

This hotel has a very good location as it is just a few minutes' walk away from the MRT and bus stops. The staff were really nice and friendly especially Ms. April who was very accommodating and provided exceptional service to me and my colleague during our stay. They also took good care of our luggage which we left after we checked-out as our flight was still later in the evening. We went out after leaving our things and everything was still in order. I agree with other reviews that the hotel is quite dated I'd say you'd still get your money's worth since because of the very nice location. The room was clean and had black-out curtains if you want to sleep in, the bed was very comfy, and basic requirements were adequately provided - with TV, wi-fi, iron and ironing board, vault, hairdryer in the bathroom (has hot and cold water with both an overhead shower head and a handheld shower head). They also have a hot and cold water dispenser in the room which is really nice. The bathroom also smelled good and all the basic toiletries were available. Overall, I was very satisfied with our stay and for the price will definitely recommend staying here.

Very old hotel and wifi is not working well. Their room needs to be renovated because it’s in bad condition but it works well if you’re staying for 3 days. More than that, might be better to look at other hotels. Gym facility is okay though the treadmill is quite old. Good thing that it’s in Orchard so it’s good if you like to shop around or have accessible restaurants.

Great hotel to stay; nothing over the top or snazzy, but we were out exploring all day and we’re not in the room much. Pool is decent on roof- clean and cool view. No bar

The hotel is in a good location near shopping malls and food courts. The room rate is reasonable and has basic daily needs. Room face lift is needed to make my grading to 5✨.

Our triple room's bed mattresses were comfortable and we slept well. The technician was efficient and resolved our TV issue very quickly. Breakfast was simple and not lacking. Front-line staff ought to be friendlier, no basic greetings whatsoever. The bathroom floor got flooded easily due to a WC fault.

The room and windows were very clean. The bathroom looked like it was recently renovated. Updated and clean. Hotel staff are very accommodating and helpful. Location to MTR is very close. Shopping area is just right outside.
