At J8 Hotel, rooms is too small and very bad room service. Staff is not co- operative , no room service , they have only 2-3 brakfast item only this hotel is not for vegetarians, hotel manager is very rude. I am giving rating in negative. In this hotel only location is good and in this same price we have many more best option. I will never stay again and never recommend anyone.

Hotel staff β€” not sure if it’s the language barrier or the over all attitude but the lady serving breakfast was consistently rude. Front desk β€” They don’t have any maintenance staff at night. Not even one. If something stops working at night, you have got to power through. Rooms β€” too too too small. Almost like airport pods where you’d sleep for a few hours during layovers. Bathroom β€” No shower curtain, when asked to provide one, they said it gets dirty and they don’t want to do regular maintenance of it, so.. now, water spills everywhere. The sinks were clogged, we had 3 rooms and all were slow burn drainage. If two of you are sharing a room, you have to plan your hand washes, face washes etc etc so that there is 20 minutes in between to let the water drain out. Breakfast β€” As many have mentioned before, repeats everyday and it’s not vegetarian/vegan friendly To summarize β€” As someone who ALWAYS checks reviews online before making any bookings/purchases, this was the first time I didn’t and it will never happen again.

THE BAD Service is very poor. Not all staff are bad but there are enough really bad ones to put you off. I told a staff member at reception that my drain was clogged and he mumbled that the technician has gone home. I asked when it will be fixed and he said tomorrow after breakfast. This is OK except for the fact that he wasn't even looking at me whilst he was talking. He was just on his phone sorting something else out for another guest and I had to keep repeating my question because he wasn't paying attention to what I was saying. Why did he call me up to serve me then? Why not finish off the job with the current guest he was serving. When I said they seemed to have forgotten to make my bedsheets he asked me to show my room. He then flicked a switch to indicate "make my bed" and immediately walked out the door in a very mocking way. When serving breakfast, I noticed a guest arriving at 7:35am ready to order. The restaurant staff bluntly said breakfast is at 7:40am! Firstly, it's just 5 minutes. Secondly, if you can't serve breakfast yet because it's policy, at least say it in a nice way. Like, sorry could you please come back in 5mins? I guess it's 3* hotel so you Get what you pay for.. The service you get here is the feeling of a place where the staff dread being at work. Facilities There is no shower screen in the bathrooms so the water flows through the entire bathroom including toilet, where you stand to brush your teeth etc. This is unhygienic as it is but to make matters worse, my the drain was clogged. So when showered it literally flooded the entire bathroom and almost into the bedroom. My friends had the same problem on a different floor so I think it's a common issue at this hotel. I honestly didn't want to complain about it but since my room was right next to reception, I thought I'd just quickly ask them to pump the drain so at least it wouldn't overflow tonight. But the extremely poor service put me to the edge and prompted me to write this post. THE GOOD Location is great. Lots of eateries, bars, pubs etc around. The room is very small but has everything you need. It's reasonably clean and you get 2 water bottles in the fridge each day. Breakfast is included which tastes nice.

Despite reading negative comments I booked this hotel n was pleasantly surprised again. The hotel room has everything one needs. Beds are good. Location is great. Plus complimentary breakfast which was really substantial. My only grievance- please give hand towels.

I was staying here and the location is just perfect as it's 5 min away from Little India street . The only issue was that the rooms are quite small and there were no windows but still it was great. I am a vegetarian but still have 2 to 3 options in Breakfast along with fruits. Overall it's a good hotel.

I stayed here some time ago. The hotel doesn't even have properly trained staff. Everyone was very arrogant and rude. The breakfast server was always moody and was always rude to us even when we asked simple things like "where do we get milk?" (Which was included in the breakfast). If you can, I would suggest spending 30-40$ more to get a better hotel. Even the location is pretty mediocre.

J8 Hotel in Singapore is a comfortable and convenient choice for travelers on a budget. The location is fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and a range of dining options. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy place to rest after a day of exploring the city. While the rooms are not overly spacious, they are functional and equipped with the essentials. The staff at J8 Hotel is so friendly (I LOVED THEM!) and accommodating, making the stay pleasant. The hotel offers good value for money, considering its prime location in Singapore. For those looking for a no-frills accommodation option in the heart of the city, J8 Hotel is a solid choice. It provides a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. I hope to enjoy the hotel again soon! I will never forget the amazing and particular breakfast (see photos).

value of the money. The room isn't too tiny, it has a distinctive window, it's clean, and the bathroom is nice as well. Breakfast is delicious, the staff informed me that the breakfast menu was no pork and no beef.

Please try to avoid this hotel if you are booking by seeing pictures and STAR....according to my experience, it's a ONE STAR lodge. Room size is same as bed. No microwave and they didn't even heat my baby food (as per them, outside food was not allowed) ...don't get trap into BREAKFAST included deals....they have set four options for breakfast. Overall, my experience was really bad by paying amount which can get me a nice hotel.

For Coldplay consert, i booked a room here for a staycation so that it will be easy to crash in afterwards. Stayed here a decade ago and have fond memories of this hotel, especially the patio room & specifically patio with view. Somehow, it slipped my mind that standard would drop over the years, and well, yes, unfortunately, it does. Firstly, i booked a room with a request for this specific patio room way last year once i know i am going to the concert. Did i get it .. No. They might want to say subject to availability, so well .. But i just think that getting a patio room, facing a shophouse and other hdb block might as well don't get it as what's the point if the curtain is closed all the time as men keep walking past the back alley, really no privacy for female and definitely no view to enjoy too. Wasted my money, better just get a standard room!! Re the room cleanliness, not so clean! It was actually very dusty and quite rundown. Don't you guys maintain the standard? I could get other hotels similar to the rate or lesser in Lavender or Jalan Sultan area, but because i thought it was a nice experience before, why not come back? Now, it's utterly disappointing. Lastly, this is something absurb to voice out .. I am wondering what the housekeeping department doing when they didn't clean it thoroughly? Adult itimacy product was found inside the room, and my 19 year old girl saw it and asked me .. duh!! What my perception of this hotel has changed today. My last ever visit. If you are not particular about any of this, go ahead. The location is great. the free breakfast served is okay, but the rest really has gone down so badly compared to 10 years ago.

Rooms: are too small, even the gallery is small. Staff: Non Cooperative. They were reluctant to give us water bottles. When enquired about water dispenser, we were told to purchase from 7 Eleven. Receptionist was rude. Having agreed about our meal plan, they didn't provide us the requested meal. No provision to heat tea/coffee. TV: Useless. Only 8 channels are there. Location: Is good.

I didn't stay at the hotel. I ate at the Vietnamese restaurant downstairs. The service was good. The food was delicious and the price reasonable. It is kind of at a back alley and so it is also a quiet restaurant. I loved it! Eat in peace, peace of mind!

Rooms and around the hotel was quite clean but however do find some drawbacks as follows: 1) Rooms and Bathrooms - Super small! Deluxe or whatever you can call it, do expect it to be small. 2) Food - Not that great, same breakfast during our entire stay for a week. 3) Staff - There was a old gent, who was very helpful and the cleaners are quite friendly as well, except for some short hair lady, she was bit fussy at times (example, if we decide to sit in an inside table and we want to change to an outside, she makes a fuss saying they cannot find us.. I mean it's not marina bay to have 100's of rooms and guests). 4) Accessibility - Perfect! Close by (500m or less) to all MRTs, Mustafa Centre, City Square Mall etc. 5) Value for Money - No other hotel around offered with Breakfast, but J8 did.

We had the worst experience. The restaurant lady is very rude and will not us a glass of water. I asked her to give one glass of water for medicine after breakfast but she denied and said you should have a water bottle in your room. Breakfast is very bad. Same every day. Not good options for vegetarians. Rooms are very small. There is no space for keeping your suitcase. The bathroom light was not working. The electrician came in the morning and messed up the other sockets. Overall negative experience

Nice location and cozy room but employee didn't wear mask at front desk, violate hotel prevention rules? and was so inpatient to reply questions. If you are ok to put yourself in dangerous contact, good to stay. They don't take your room service call unless you go to the front desk for help...., No hair dryer and slipper.

Not so good experience. The location was amazing. Most places were at walk able distance and there were numbers of eateries available 24/7. However, the quality of the service or the rooms were not that good. The rooms were very small and the bathroom was dirty. The hand shower in the bathroom broke one random day and there was water everywhere which was very unpleasant. However, the breakfast options were good and liked the service that was provided during the breakfast time.

Worse service received to date. Gave us a unclean room with condoms . New room is even smaller but has outside balcony (useless because no scenery). Pillows, sheets and hallways full of cigarette smell. Toilet is crazily small, smaller than a single bed size, unlike from other review photos. No refunds when requested.😑😑 will never visit again

EXTREMELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Filipino staff at front desk is extremely vocal about her frustrations. They also told us to pay extra $30 even though we have already paid the full price through a 3rd party booking site bc β€œNational Day surcharge”. Doesn’t let us take extra bottled water (WHAT THE HECK?) Website stated free breakfast but no service to deliver the food up to our room, we had to WAIT FOR THE FOOD AT THE LOBBY (wasted 30min just to wait for breakfast? Lol.) Never coming back here again.

Hotel rooms are not serviced for new arrival guests. Bed sheets are crumpled when first checked in to room. Bedbugs all over the front of bed. Tv stand furniture was rotting and leaking with water. Toilet shower head continuously leaking all through the night. Toilet still had obvious blood stained (god knows what is it) from previous occupant. Sheets does not look like they are fresh and reused. Very very disgusting. I rarely comment negatively no matter how bad it gets. But this takes the toll. Even smaller cheaper budget hotels does way better than this. Of providing fresh sheets, clean toilet and serviceable furniture. Hotel lobby also does not seem to take or bother temperature taking of arriving guests. I hope the management sees this and take this seriously.

Bad experience J8 HOTEL. From scale no1-8, 1 is V.GD, 8 is worse. I shall scale them 8. Just like a place for odd-job foreigner hotel with NO RESPECT TO GUEST. Truly disappointed to have this kind of hotel service availability in SINGAPORE. Even the budget hotel in Singapore like HOTEL81, FRAGRANCE etc will lift up their service etiquette for guest. As a SINGAPOREANS TO HAVE THIS KIND OF SERVICE IN HOTEL LINE... a message to J8 MANAGEMENT hotel, please get your staff to attend WSQ / SKILLFUTURE, in service line which definitely upgrade them individually. Please accept my utmost apologies with my harshly feedback. Whatever I commented is from the bottom of my heart. Angel Haryati M.D HAMNY Pte Ltd.

We stayed here for 2 nights, also for the coldplay concert. We were greeted by 2 excellent host, and when we went in, the room small but passable (since this a budget hotel), with a great view of the city from the huge window. But I really like the TV has a lot of choices such as local channels, youtube, netflix (you will need your own account). But the problem is, the bathroom, ventilation is really poor, and the door couldnt be locked. The cleaniness needs to be improve (there's a really really small cockroach on the curtains, but its okay). I been checking the google reviews for the past few months before came here. To be honest, I don't really have high expectation obviously cause it's cheap. But If you're looking a cheap and short stay, consider this hotel! :)

Clean hotel near little India, small room but okay. It was a bit noisy because of the road and road works on the other side of the street. Also, we didn't like the breakfast : only fried things to eat, no sweet.

Stayed at this hotel a year ago, June 2022. The staff was very kind and helpful to me, the breakfast was okay and fulfilling, my room had no windows but it was pretty comfortable for 1 person, since I was alone. The small single room was perfect for a solo traveler like me. It was clean and neat. They clean my room every single day. Overall it was a really decent experience for me.

My experience was excellent; it was my birthday yesterday and during check-in the lady staff realized it was my birthday and wished me. Based on the reviews, I'm not sure why it's bad and I’m a little worried if it might be the worse experience for me, but my experience was excellent. Thank you so much for doing that; it brightens my day! The room was an amazing experience; it really does feel like home, secure, and comfortable. Additionally, it is not far from here to the city's and the popular streets. Morning comes, the staff greets which is nice. When I tried to get in this morning, the same staff helped me because the door had a double lock. The breakfast was also great and delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking here was excellent, and the checkout went smoothly with a smile on our face. So far, I'd say this place is great! I appreciate your service.

I like the location, it's a very strategic place, pretty near from the bus station (i always use bus 130) I like the uncle that greets at us when we arrive, he is so helpful and give a very big respect to us. I love the food here, as indonesian the taste is really match with my tounge. The room size is small, but I think it's make sense becuase the hotel is not an expensive hotel. We get free breakfast. The price and the services really reallllyy worth it.

Travelled in June 2023. Probably one of the best Budget Hotels in Singapore. In close proximity to little India & Down Town. Rooms are of decent sizes (I have seen smaller rooms in Singapore. They do have Breakfast buffet but the menu isn't that great (Maybe personal choice). But a great option none the less. Go for it.

We opted to stay at J8 Hotel in August 2023. The room we choose was a double with a window. The room & bathroom was clean on arrival and cleaned daily. The air conditioner appeared to work but it was not very effective - this did not detract from our stay. The room could be improved by being larger (could only be accessed from one side of the bed) but this is still good value for SG. Breakfast was adequate. Location, very good located within easy walking distance of 3 MRT stations and very easy to use this when coming from the airport. Loved that the hotel was surrounded by lots of value eateries and close to Little India. We will use this hotel again when we return to SG.

The hotel was enough for 3 of us. We booked the deluxe type. The room was not so big but it was ok, the amenities is complete, haidryer and refridge are available also. Everything in the room is worked well. The price is good and it was breakfast include. The breakfast is fried rice, egg, potato, fresh milk, coffee, tea, mineral water and salad. The location is close to MRT jalan besar, but a bit far to Lavender MRT. We prefer to Lavender, since there is a bit difference in orice if you took the MRT jalan besar for your journey.

Pathetic front office/reception, they don't have proper rooms. From the time we entered the room AC not working, Wifi not working and when asked to fix it they come very casually according to their convenience to fix it. Everyday two water bottles of 250 ml is provided and if you want extra and even if you are ready to pay for it they won't provide you have to step out and purchase a water bottle on your own which I haven't seen in any hotels. Overall it was a bad nightmare staying in this hotel. Not recommended for families as well as individuals.

Positive feedback - nice room with a good view was assigned to us - yummy buffet breakfast - water refill everyday - our room was cleaned even without asking - there's a food store across and nearby 7/11 - wifi is working well - kind staff. I was not able to get the name of the guy who assisted us during check in and check out. I believe he's asian. Kudos to him. He's kind and accommodating, he's also smiling always every time we see him Cons - hotel location is a little bit far from Lavender station - AC leak

In travel world hotel's hospitality matters a lot but in J8 this word does not exist. Out of limited staff you will find only 1 or 2 people serving with smile rest all were very rude.. Breakfast and people serving(old lady in restaurant) both were pathetic...Seriously no manners.. We booked deluxe gold category and hotel website show the different pic, amenities etc.. What you get is different. Being a travel expert by profession - "Travel expert do not send your clients here else you will get poor feedback from them" Good part - Would like to appreciate only 1 person, that staff who use to clean our room on daily basis was doing his/her job perfectly and Mr Mak on reception who gave us the rooms early looking at our tired faces.

Hotel - Hotel was quite decent but room size is not as good as we took 3rd highest category. Bathroom - Dirty and drainage system in bathroom was like hell, after 30 sec of shower, you have to wait 5 min to get water drain out. Really Pathetic Breakfast - Same breakfast every day and restaurant employees are really rude in behavior. No Buffet. Please note - This hotel is not suggestable for Indians, as a travel agent I am not going to advise this hotel to any single person even room getting cheaper.

I had a bad experience at this property after checking out. We stayed at J8 hotel for 4 nights from 8th - 12th November. The property is located near Lavender MRT and Farrer Park MRT. It was a convenient place for my vacation in terms of travel to various places. The room is small and had no space to move around if you have more than two 2 luggages. In short, the room is cramped for the price. The room facilities include an old air conditioner, a queen bed with tiny window, a small refrigerator , a safe, TV and hair dryer. Coming over to breakfast, it is the same all the days. You only have 5 items to choose from and to be honest, it is decent for the price. The staff at the hotel are not customer oriented and are rude when asked for help and don't respond well. I checked out on 12th and left my luggage at the reception area for some nearby shopping and to my surpise I got a call from the receptionist asking me report to the hotel immediately and the manager has an issue to discuss. I asked for some info and all i got was to immediately report to the hotel to discuss on the issue with the manager. I left all my shopping in between and rushed back to the hotel. The manager asked me to come to my room which was neat and tidy and showed me a screen damage on TV and enquired on the damage on the TV. He was trying to frame the breakage of TV on our part. Initially I was shocked to see the breakage on the screen. It is visible only when the TV is turned on. The four days I stayed there I used the hotel only to sleep and bath and never switched on the TV nor touched the remote. I gave my explanation to the manager and he was telling my explanation is not realistic and practical. I asked did the service staff check before I checked in on 8th. The manager informed the checks happen every day. This is again shocking, if they could not find the issue in the last 3 days how come only on the day I check out. He could not give me an answer and kept on saying your explanation is not practical and all guests use TV first. I stood with my explanation which holds true. Finally after 10 minutes of conversation, the manager took my email ID and said he would contact me based on management's decision. This was a miserable experience and i had to rush for something i did not do. Atleast I should have been informed over phone when asked. I am thankful to god for getting out of it without any issue. Overall, this was a very bad experience and would never ever visit this property again.

1: cleanliness The place was very dirty and the bathroom had worms around the drain hole. Very disappointed and lost my money. Was at a point thinking of shifting to a new hotel and ask for a refund because of being dirty. The bathroom curtains were so dirty and mouldy . Plus the drain hole stinked so bad that all days we had a very quick shower. Also tge bed sheets had some random red marks on them which i hope are not blood stains 2: Attitude of some staff There were 2 staff - one guy and a lady ( saw them on the night shift only ) who were rude as. The response they gave were very bad and felt like they dont want to even talk to their customers. One of them even walked off for something else while i was infront of the counter talking to them. But other staff very very nice but these 2 pulls the good work done by others too down.

The hotel was not pleasant for me. The hotel's facilities are awful in comparison to the cost. There are a few staff employees who, in my experience, are really haughty. If you don't know Chinese like me, the person in charge of breakfast will launch at you and invite other Chinese tourists to laugh at you. It was necessary for me to return and ask her to be more polite. In any case, the hotel's main redeeming feature is its proximity to the MRT (which they name Metro), but since Singapore is so compact, you can pretty much choose any hotel and find it close to the METRA stop. What's more, I've discovered that booking sites exclusively show you the worst hotels on your screen. In retrospect, I realize that I could have had far nicer accommodations at the same money. J8 is not worth the $350 for 3 days (my understanding).

It was a torture experience. Staff is horrible, extremely rude. Rooms are so small even 2 people cant stand together with no view from balcony. No space to open one suitcase even. Seems like balcony can collapse anytime. It's pathetic clumsy dirty place ... Breakfast for veg are just two slice of bread that you might probably skip after restratunt lady behavior. She is so annoying n rude...Think twice before booking this place to not spoil your mood & trip.

Very small room and mine was without window, a bunker but very clean. The staff at the reception is very kind and professional but the woman at breakfast service is very rude. The breakfast is poor, no sweet b. for us who come from italy. Noodles, rice, chicken it's like a lunch. The less traumatizing is an egg with bread and butter. The location is very good, close to lavender metro station that brings you everywhere.
