Don’t waste your time with this hotel. So unprofessional, untidy and unpleasant attitude of staff. Firstly they couldn’t find our booking and claimed we hadn’t booked anything despite having confirmation emails and from the Agoda app. They then gave us our room key and told us the room number. No offer of showing us around the room, what facilities are available or offering to take our luggage to the room. The main issues, however, included lack of space, dirty toilets and shower (which was within the same m2 area and less than 2 m2) The room had cockroaches and flies crawling over the floor, coming out from the drain pipes and from cracks in the wall. We had to book another hotel as we were not comfortable staying here. During our stay we spent as much time as we could outdoors and used public toilets rather than those in our own room. We were scared to use the shower due to the uncleanliness and bugs coming out of the drainage pipes. The shower had mould growing on the door and hadn’t been cleaned despite asking multiple times from room service. You would expect a hotel to have room service daily to change the bed sheets, clean the bins etc. however, we had to beg them to have it done For the amount of money they charge you would expect the bare minimum at least, however the hotel is far from it. It is something which you would expect in the slums of India.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. I stayed in the Potts room on the main floor and the shared washrooms were incredibly dirty and never cleaned. It's a wet washroom and every surface gets wet. Disgusting. Toilet seats falling off as well. The room was very small and didn't have anywhere to put my luggage, so I had to put it on the floor. The pictures deceived me in getting my own room and washroom. The security was suspect. My door was this flimsy sliding door, the safe didn't work at all. The door to enter the shared rooms didn't close properly. Do not book!

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The reception area is okay but the bathroom was stinky and dirty. My room was located on the second floor next to the pool. Soundproofing did not really exist, which meant that i could hear people by the pool as well as people on the street yelling at each other. The shower/toilet room smelled moldy and was not very clean. Same thing goes for the rest of the room. There were hairs on the floor, dirt on the surfaces as well as scratches on all the walls. I was given two towels that smelled like they were washed without detergent and had make up and other brown stains on them. Note that you also have to pay a security deposit of 100 SGD. Staff insured me that this deposit would be paid back within 14 business days, which never happened. Only after reminding hotel management via email somebody started to look into this issue. If you value quality and cleanliness do not stay at this hotel.

I would just like to say that if you are not invested in making your guests feel comfortable, or giving good service and experience, then you shouldn’t get into the hospitality business. The moment I entered the room a sense of dread overwhelmed me. Not only is the room cramped, you can see signs of lack of maintenance everywhere. And because the room is so small, you can’t really escape these signs, you’re literally trapped. The “fridge” they gave was laughable. It’s like a toy. You can maybe fit two cans of drinks? Although the room was small, there is enough space underneath to put a small fridge. It was obvious they just didn’t bother. The comments that are saying “you get what you pay for”, don’t believe it. The prices are not budget hotel prices. Maybe it was hyped up when it first opened, but it’s clear that they did not bother to maintain the rooms. Don’t be fooled by the fancy designs and neon signs. The “boutique” features they installed are cheaply made/sourced and look like they’re about to fall apart. I have stayed in many hotels, and have bad experiences before but I’ve never felt a responsibility to put up a review until this one. Everyone deserves to know that they should not waste their money here.

the hotel room is very comfortable. The interior design is aesthetic. There are no problems in the service and rooms. we stayed for a week. we booked a private room with a private bathroom. price? not expensive. the front view of our room window is the swimming pool. What a very pleasant experience.

bad very bad hotel and dormitory. have no space to stand. you have to done everything on the bad in the room because no space has to stand. they don’t provide any shop or shampoo. They didn’t give us tee and coffee though that was included in room facilities. Totally worst of moneys. Hot water system was not working. Eventually After complaint they don’t repair. very sad is that they didn’t refund if you refused to stay there. once you pay to them you lose your money. please see room space before booking. no space to put your luggage, no window. in the name of dorm room they give you a pit. so before booking please be careful.

The dirtiest hotel I've ever stay in my entire life. I checked out in less than an hour. There were bugs on the ceiling and the towel were greyish and sheets are dirty. The door was mouldy and the room is really cramped and small. The room is also not sound proof I can hear a lot of noise coming from outside. The hotel is poorly maintain. The hotel is located at a dodgy neighbourhood, feel really unsafe there. I am really disappointed, feel like I just wasted my money and it's not cheap for such a low standard room. I will never ever come back here, neither will I recommend anyone to book a room here.

The room is small. Smaller than the picture actually. I thought there’s still room behind the coffee table/bed where they put the kettle etc. Turned out the kettle was hiding in the corner. The plus side : - near MRT Rochor & Little India. Short walk to a lot of bus stops. - hot shower works - AC works well - there’s kettle, tea & instant coffee - there’s bidet. The not so pleasant side : - there are music & noises from outside shops around after midnight. It doesn’t go all night long but will still bother you if you are a light sleeper. There’s 711 just around the corner. BUT if you want to buy a bottle of water, the local shop right next to 711 sell it for a cheaper price. Sure, the receptionist/front desk isn’t always available. We learned to ask questions/give requests all in one go while they’re there. And Staffs tried their best to accomodate you. They accomodated our request for daily housekeeping. They’re also willing to give you more bottle of water, just have to ask.

I don’t jump to conclusions when reading reviews on website or pages that related to certain Hotels or services. But what stated here that hotel took own sweet time to return deposit is TRUE!!! As they mentioned…2weeks to a Month if you’re paying by Cards. But after a month…make multiple calls…they will make much inconvenient for you to email or contact customer service for help like they are not working for the hotel. Please reconsider other hotel that are same or even lower value in that area. Highly not recommend for this Clamo Organisation!

The absolute worst hotel I've been to in my entire life! First upon arrival we got a filthy room, that clearly wasn't cleaned (which is disgrace because check in is at 15:00 and check out is at 11:00) with sheets dirty with hairs and stains, dirty floors and mold on the ceilings and toilet. We went to the reception and asked them to clean the room, when we got back few hours later room wasn't clean that all and only the sheets were replaced to even dirtier sheets. We have to repeat that two more times and still the room wasn't cleaned and the sheets were that were given we're still dirty. We ended up cleaning the room ourselves and in the morning asking the reception for a room replacement. The room replacement we got was still dirty in which stage we just decided to just give up.

Before anything, I’d like to point out that the location is strategic and convenient. It’s close to an MRT and a bus station. You could also find cheap halal food around the area. Now moving on to the more negative things: 1) Bad cleanliness We paid for an extra bed and the bed we got was a thin and hard foldable bed. There was also a lot of hair on it. The bathroom door was dirty and mouldy. Seems like it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. We got the balcony room but the balcony was dark and dusty. It’s also very loud and we could hear music and noises from outside. 2) Slow aircond The air conditioning takes forever to become cold although the temperature is set to the lowest. 3) Bad service The shower gel in the bathroom was empty and we only got 2 towels although we clearly stated 3 guests in our booking. We asked the receptionist to add towels and replace the shower gel at around 8PM but they said they would do it tomorrow. We went out the whole day the next day but our requests were not fulfilled. We had to go to the receptionist and ask again. A housekeeping staff knocked on the door and they literally gave us the towels in a ball and didnt even bother to fold it beforehand (E for Effort). We requested for an iron and ironing board but they never gave it to us. We got annoyed so we just ended up using the hairdryer. 4) Issues with housekeeping The housekeeping cart is just left in the hallway. The hotel hallways are already small so it was really an eyesore. We stayed for 4 nights but not once did housekeeping clean our room. The towels never got changed and our trash can was never emptied. We had to put our trash can outside and only then will they replace the plastic. Even so, they didn't even bother to put the trash can back in the room and left it in front of our door. 5) Cash only deposit Finally, they asked for a S$100 deposit but they didn't accept anything other than cash.

I have stayed at Madras thrice, from their basic room, balcony room & even their suite with a bathtub in it! I loved the stay at all three! Bathtub was huge! For the balcony room, it's good for those who like to have some fresh air & have food by the balcony. The staff's service was excellent too! Very hospitable, I have to commend Aisyah for her friendliness & smiley face & Mas for assisting us to get our room asap too. 😘😘😎

The stay was excellent due not only for the amenities but also from the helpfulness of all the staff members there especially Aisha. She was very welcoming and very helpful with our check in. Due to availability she actually helped upgrade our room. Overall the staff was amazing and the room was just as good. I would highly recommend this place.

Service was bad, queued for 40 mins to check-in when there was only one group in front. Asked for late check-out since they wasted so much of our time due to their inefficiency in checking in, but were declined rudely. The room was very dusty and there was no body soap in the given receptacle. Isn't it basic service to refill the essentials before every new guest uses the room? Only good point is the location - there are many eateries nearby.

The worst place I've ever stayed at. Having read the negative reviews before coming here, I had quite low expectations coming in but my stay here didn't even come close to reaching them. Incapable management staff, neglectful housekeeping, and unclean environment. To start, the bed sheets were outright filthy with hair on them—not even sure if they were replaced before I came in. I reached out to the night shift receptionist who seemed very apologetic about the situation and called his manager. The manager came and replaced the sheets with brand new ones but neglected the dirty covers so I slept with a towel that night. The manager also assured me multiple times that all the sheets and covers on the bed would be replaced in the morning and tried to apologize by offering late check-out. The next day, I told the front receptionist (who was now a different person) about the bed situation, asking her to send housekeeping to my room. I'm gone for the whole day but when I come back late at night, the room was exactly how I left it—housekeeping never even stepped inside to at least clean the room. I go down to the front reception once again, and the night receptionist this time gave me a free upgrade to a bigger room for the night (the bed sheets had some hairs but was avoidable and I was too tired to go elsewhere at this point). I thought it was funny how he tried talking it up by pointing out the hot tub in the room and how much bigger the bathroom was, when all I care about is a room that is sanitary. I didn't even bother reaching out to the manager because of just how incapable he is. And also, when I tried checking out early in the morning, there was no one at the reception desk. Instead, I find a note with a phone number on it. I texted the number and waited 5 minutes before calling it since I had a flight to catch. In the room behind behind reception, I hear a phone ringing and see one of the reception workers sleeping on the ground. The ringing doesn't wake him up so I had to knock on the open door to wake him up. Although the price here might be cheaper than elsewhere, please avoid staying here at all costs. It's really not worth it.

For the price, I was expecting much better than we got. The room was quite small and the bathroom was lacking quite a bit. We were welcoming by insects crawling out of the drain when we arrived. I understand that Singapore is an expensive place but when I’m paying over $120 for a hotel room, I’d expect it to be a bit more clean. Personally, I would not stay here again.

Everything about the hotel looked amazing on agoda, which led to me and my friend booking this 2D1N staycay. However, nothing about it was great. The receptionist had an attitude and didn’t tell us anything about the facilities, wifi, swimming pool access etc. All she did was give us the room key. Furthermore, she asked for a cash deposit of $50, which was not indicated in the booking confirmation email, so we had to walk in the heat just to withdraw. This delayed our check in. On top of that, we booked a standard room (even the booking confirmation said so) but the receptionist insisted that we booked a deluxe hostel, which was worth half the price of a standard room, and she claimed that all other rooms were fully booked, so we had to settle for a room we did not pay for. Next, the facilities are terrible. The toilets had no soap at all, except an empty bottle of shower gel. Our room did not have sufficient towels. When we requested for them, we had to ask twice as our requests fell on the deaf ears of the receptionist. Also, we had to ask the receptionist on how to access the pool & for the wifi password as she once again, did not tell us anything. That’s not all though. The tv in our room did not work at all and the poor maintenance guy tried to fix it for about an hour, but to no avail, it didn’t work. The tv was the only form of entertainment we had and yet we couldn’t even use it. Additionally, the soap dispenser wasn’t filled at all so we had to top it up ourselves. The facilities just sucked. The hotel’s security is an issue as well. There were no security personnel near the rooms and near the reception area. It made us feel very unsafe. My friend and i would sincerely appreciate it if you could refund us, even if it’s 50% of what we paid. We did not pay $146+ to get this type of lousy experience. Thank you.

The concept is cute but room is very small and dated. We kept bumping into things. Metal furnishings are rusting. Sheets are stained in some parts. Overall I wouldn't have given a 1 star if not for the fact that they were doing noisy renovations while people were occupying the hotel! Hammering and drilling right into our wall and door from checkin to 7.30pm at night! Only stopped when we asked when they were going to be done. They started hammering and drilling again at around 8am next morning!! Construction materials were strewn all over the corridors and rest area beside the swimming pool. And they talk loud with each other. Lucky we stayed only 1 night

What a pity. This hotel is so poorly run. 4:30pm check in, dirty sheets (found hair from previous guest), no shower gel, dirty bathrooms, unprofessional staff. Speechless. Will not return ever again. It’s a well designed budget hotel with boutique hotel price. Don’t be fooled by their pictures!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I even read all the reviews before coming here and thought that the hotel could not be as terrible as everyone says. I was foolish. It is terrible. It is awful. 1. Room hygiene is poor. We got allergic reaction, skin rash to the dust. Dust visible on all surfaces. Cobwebs. 2. There were bed bugs and drain flies. 3. Air con did not make the room cool at all. Inside room temperature was 30 degrees Celsius. We were sweating profusely. 4. Noise and bass from bars penetrated the room late into night. 5. Lift button on 3rd floor broken, have to take stairs to 2nd floor and call lift. We couldn't take it and packed up our things at midnight and left for a Marriott hotel instead. Didn't even sleep at The Great Madras (couldn't sleep because it was so uncomfortable). Avoid avoid avoid. Avoid avoid avoid. Avoid avoid avoid. I hope my review helps even just one person choose to not stay here, because I would be saving one person's sanity, instead of letting this hotel ruin their time in Singapore. Do not make my same mistake.

Great time here & we've stayed here twice! ◡̈ Special shout-out to Irah from Front Desk, friendly & prompt in handling our check-in + check-out! Nice rooms with amenities and the building comes with a nice pool for a quick dip! There's also a cafe on Level 1 & 7 eleven nearby which is very convenient, we will definitely be back!

Be careful before booking it.. As they’ll charge you more for everything you need and also ask for safety deposit, which they won’t give you back when you checkout and they’ll give you silly excuses… Rooms were not same as shown and washroom was so untidy **worst stay ever**

It’s a no from me. I wasn’t expecting much from this hotel due to the price but it’s really quite… tragic. Unfortunately I got the first floor room but that’s okay. There’s free wifi and smart tv but the tv’s internet connection isn’t stable so you have to always reconnect when you want to watch Netflix or YouTube. Other than that, don’t expect fresh super clean bed sheets. There’s only one pair of pillows even tho it’s a queen bed. The toilet is huge. Past midnight, there were 2 attempts of somebody trying to barge into the room. Called the front desk but nobody picked up. So I walked there and told the kind receptionist and she was so nice. Till now we both don’t know who/what did that. But I also told her that there were people talking/laughing loudly just outside the door and it’s ald past midnight. She said she’d talk to the people but I was on bed and still heard them till almost 2am? Not sure. One thing for sure, there were 3 of them talking and during this time, max social pax is 2. Oh yes, I also saw a cockroach in my room the next morning! 🤪

The rooms were okay. Very small - and compact. The staff at reception were quite hopeless, honestly, and were of little help which was unfortunate. The location is great though - near a small shopping mall with restaurants and a grocery store, as well as a few MRT stops. The aesthetic of the hotel was unique, and very cool.

This is one of THE WORST nights of sleep I’ve ever experienced in a “hotel”. Soundproofing is a myth, Indian guests play loud music and talk on phones practically into the sunrise. Air conditioning is like an asthmatic infant wheezing stale, barely cool air, toilet is FILTHY. Just sleep on the airport benches, you get more comfort.

Booked two rooms for 3 nights. One was proper and the other one was smaller and seems it was not maintained well. The smaller room's wash basin got spoiled until a technician came and repaired it but our room got dirty after that. The headboard of our bed was really smelly. Room was not sound-proof and during our last night there, our room was not cleaned. Location is quite near to Jalan Besar and Rochor MRT and has a lot of affordable food and convenience store nearby.

only Name has Greta Madras. Nothing is Great as per describe in details. Room is Very Very Small (only 50Sq.ft.) Just a bed inside the room and u cant even move around the room. Toilet & bathroom also very compact and too much difficult to use. I never stay such small room ever. Staff is OK. No service , No complimentry or even paid Breakfast in hotel. No food service . The charges is not atall justify with overall room size and facility they provided. Overall i must say, if u want to just sleep once enter into room after whole day out exploring singapore then only think to stay into this hotel. I will not again book this hotel for my next trip. If you are couple to think stay there, then its on your risk to stay, as between two room, there is ply (wooden) partition which may get compromise your privacy in night...!!

The Great Madras was super close to the station and not hard to find from the airport. We love the way it was decorated, we had the pool just outside our room (essential for the humid weather), bed was comfy, there was enough space for the 2 of us and the staff were lovely. They also let us leave our bags for the whole day before leaving for the airport late. Just things to note, the toilet is in the same room as the shower (in our basic room, there are more luxurious rooms) and it’s in a busier and more run down area. It was perfect for us and we enjoyed our stay!

We got the great suite, although it is a 2 star hotel (based on Google), the location of the hotel is accessible and the ambience is very 80s feel. Lots of Instagrammable backdrop. Foods are everywhere and there's a 7-11 right around the corner! I booked the great suite and the bathtub is really worth it. Although some say bathtub is dangerous for kids, but for this case, the bathtub is big and there are lots of space for them to play in it. Adults can be by the bed and they can still keep and eye at the bathtub area. Overall, it's worth for couple and family.

More like a motel than hotel. Has dodgy written all over it. The room booked was Deluxe Room. Honestly this hotel has so much potential, but it is so badly maintained. Paint chipping off, dusty, black mold stains on toilet bowl, the room and toilet has mosaic tiles that has stains all over the grout. No proper front desk staff- usually it's not manned, and when asked questions, they don't have the answers, even basic ones like requests for a change of towels. Wifi was intermittent and not stable enough for work video calls. The road is a hotbed for drunk people in the area. It's rowdy even at 4AM on weeknights, with fights breaking out and glass bottles shattering. Police were often there. Sadly this place is branded so we'll and in a beautiful building. But it's not any place you'd want to stay for more than an hour.

Had a nightmarish experience. Power failure at 7pm. Room was completely dark, no electricity. After they resolved 3hrs later, the power failed again at 11pm. There's no one at reception. Had to call reception and the worst of all, the receptionist said it was already resolved about an hour ago. Told them this is new and it took them 30mins to come over and resolve this time. The aircon in my room went kaput afterwards and the receptionist told us there's no maintenance guy at that time and I had to either use a fan or move to a different room. Imagine packing up and moving room at almost midnight. The nightmare didn't end. The new room that was allocated to us got no wifi/ethernet. TV and wifi wasn't working at all. We were tired and decided to give up and go to bed. I have video recordings of this ordeal but google reviews only allow photos. Please don't come here. There are many other 2 star hotels offering better services than them.

I booked my one night Deluxe Room via Agoda , and the location of the hotel was very ideal and convenient, easily go to the other parts of bugis without much hassle . Room turns out to be the same as the picture showed in agoda and my husband is very very fond of the balcony that came along as he's someone who loves to enjoy his time at the balconies. Overall a good stay and we had a super splendid time ! Would recommend couples/families to come for a stay .

The worse hotel I've ever been in. Stayed in room 301. The air-conditioning is not working well, already told the front desk guy but all he gave is a stupid card. Water heater is not working well. The ceiling is leaking and all they do is wipe it dry. And all the paint dropped on the floor and no one came to clean it. The cafe downstairs serve the worse pastas ever. The pastas is dry and hard. The duck is still cold and the squid is like rubber! Please avoid this hotel at all costs! No one here gives a damn about their guests! The hotel is damn dirty as well! You got a $100 to spare and you don't believe me please try. You would rather book a budget hotel in Geylang instead the next time!

Room was clean and compact. Enough for 2 people and had the bare amenities. Comes with smart TV, but no terrestrial channels. Shared Bathroom was spacious and came with body soap and shampoo. Toothbrush provided. Only issues were the walls were quite thin, so woken up early due to cleaner or nearby people, unsure which, and the plug sockets were unreliable. Service staff were friendly, but seemed like they were not in contact with the mamagement or were just unwilling to help with admin issues. Swimming pool is nice but very small, can only accomodate around 4 persons. Well located within the little india area, mustafa centre and tekka centre are easily walkable.

Overall 1 night stay not so bad. Room is small only bed and some space. Knock leg to bed frame, painful to sky TV channels always no networks, so WiFi sure not stable too. The good things: Not smelly, close with MRT (just behind), receptionist is friendly. The food next door not so bad but over charged

Horrendous. Google star review summary is WRONG. Used to be 4 stars when new and run by someone else, not any more. Broken facilities (door locks, taps, aircon), dirty floors, lazy management, all-round worst experience. Avoid at all costs. If you want your watch stolen, have no hot water, broken aircon, a grimy bathroom, no room to move around, a lazy manager, don't want your room cleaned, and pay 100 bucks more a night than it's worth, stay here. Don't even bother complaining or trying to get a refund, the management company couldn't care less.

Horrible place.. you have been warned, reference more on hotel booking apps for this hotel's reviews before deciding on the cheap "deals" Here's my experiences, I have been to nearly 60+ hotels in Singapore.. This is by far the worst in terms of customer service, hygiene and facility. 1. Customer server is surprising horrible, the receptionist simply point around when asked for directions.. 2. Hygiene, tissue paper was left in one of the drawers, portions of the bed wasn't tuck in properly due to improper sizing (of the bed sheet) 3. Facility, room door is partially spoiled, find it difficult to lock 4. Hygiene, everycorner is dusty, flies seen 5. The most concerning concern is Hotels.com' "About your room" did not specify that the toilet is shared. Furthermore, the shared toilet and shared space is so near to the "rooms" far too noisy for a simple rest Overall experience is worst than foreign workers' dormitories.. and that we had to check out way way way earlier than expected due to some of the customers decided to watch action indian movies without earpiece (very loudly) while enjoying his dinner at the shared space Horrible, this place should be closed, those 5 star reviews are obviously too fake. Not sure why the reviews don’t seem all that good, we had a wonderful time there! The aesthetic is really on point and the place is picturesque. Certain furnishings might need some maintenance, but it is a pleasant experience overall. Rooms are cosy and beautiful, and all you need is pretty much available and good to use. The location is also really good, with a 7/11 just two minutes away. Thanks TGM, we had a really good stay!

Love this hotel, amazing value in a great central Singapore location right in the middle of Little India. Rare art deco architecture with th usual quirky details and a (very welcome) quiet little outdoor pool. Close to MRT station and amazing markets and restaurants. Highly recommend dosa breakfast at Komala Vilas around the corner!

Hotel has a unique design but poor cleanliness, most of the surfaces in the room were covered in dust. We also received poor hospitality as the receptionist didn’t accommodate or check in with us while we were waiting for our room to be ready. I received a poker face on my birthday staycation, it was not pleasant experience at all.

We had a pleasant 5 night stay at the hotel. Despite room size being small as indicated in their site, the room was neat and very well maintained. We got timely services from the Reception Desk. This hotel is in close proximity to MRT which made our commute easier. Being located in LittleIndia, We had hassle free access to Indian food as well. Overall, recommended for a good vacation stay.

Don't book this - You will regret. 1.Denied us check in, in demand for payment of entire booking amount for a fully pre paid booking. 2. No one will be at there front desk in the night. 3. Noisy area 4. Their response team will justify themselves at any cost. They will listen to you only after you have checked out. Such thieves they are.

Very obliging and friendly staff. Allowed us to check in earlier than the stipulated time of 3pm. When we feedback that the toilet paper was insufficient, it was quickly delivered to us without fuss, same for clothes hangers which they got from their nearby sister property. Kudos to that. Room a tad small but cosy and well equipped for a short 1 night stay. Quaint and retro hotel recommended for a short getaway.

The male reception staff is a rude person, the bathrooms are smelly, the sheets are not washed, the reception staff do not attend to your request. I had a bad experience staying at the hotel. Avoid this hotel if you can. The only good thing was its close proximity to the MRT train station.

Booked for 2 nights and had to check out after 1-2 hours. Had a very bad experience. Receptionist wasn’t friendly at all. After getting the room key, we went up to the room and found out the door was actually open. Tested the key card and it wasn’t working. Went down to clarify and they said I haven’t made payment which the staff didn’t bother to check properly during the initial check in. Mind this, I wasn’t aware I haven’t made payment as I thought I did via the payment via agoda. Went up to the room and to my dismay, I was let down. Room cleanliness wasn’t there. Rusty things, chipped off paint on the walls and a dirty sink area. Decided to check out even tho it’s non refundable. Once again receptionist didn’t even bother to ask us why are we checking out 1 hour after checking in. Just handed over our room card and they moved on. Not even showing signs of any service recovery. Worst part, it’s my birthday.

When we checked in, our room was not cleaned with the preciouses guests wet towels all over... it was horrifying. Went to the receptionist to complain and she did not apologize not even once and just asked if we wanted a refund. Initially we didn't want to as its hard to find a same-day hotel booking on a PH within our budget , but she made us feel so unwelcome as guests that we ended up just cancelling our booking. She said excuses like the hotel is lacking manpower thats why the room was not cleaned. Like I dont expect the room to be all sparkles but the least they could do was make the room free of the previous guests stuff? Was very disappointed and the worst hotel experience I've been to. While I appreciated the hotel for honoring the refund, it is not someplace I will recommend to anyone.

Aesthetic-wise, it's a beautiful boutique hotel with a retro chic vibe to it. Very instagrammable. I felt i was in a time capsule which somehow transported me to somewhere not on in Singapore, which I love. The room I booked was the biggest they had and I was quite happy with it. Relatively clean and it has a humongous bathtub which can easily fit 3 to 4 people in it. The ventilation fan inside the toilet however was too noisy and might need some maintenance work. The windows were directly facing the swimming pool, which is refreshing but it could be a nuisance to some. The biggest problem about this hotel is the hospitality. When i arrived on the first day, the front counter staff wasn't as friendly or welcoming as she should be. The access card she gave me didn't work and I couldn't open my room door. So i had to go down and got it changed. After she changed it, she just placed it on the counter without lifting her head and just said, "Done." I was quite taken aback. Management, if you're reading this, you can contact me. Throughout my 3d2n staycaytion, there were 2 front counter staff, the other staff wasn't as bad as the first one I encountered. It is sad to see such a beautiful boutique hotel being marked down by an unfriendly staff.

Great experience for a night stay. The bed was clean and superrrr soft, love it!! Room and bathroom cleanliness, 5/5. Satisfied and would definitely visit again! Also, the receptionist lady is friendly and able to accommodate with our requests!

Had a really good stay at Great Madras from Friday to Saturday. The room is spacious for a staycation in the town area for $120~ the receptionist was flexible and friendly. The pool is small but it has a nice neon light aesthetics to it. We were the only ones using the pool and the receptionist helped us turn on the lights. Room was clean and comfortable. Only cons would be that they dont have any cutleries to lend us, if you’re ordering food in remember to request for cutlery. Had a great stay!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at The Great Madras in Singapore for three nights and I must say it was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the rudest customer service and encountered a shameless reception front desk. Their unapologetic and horrible attitude left a lasting impression on my stay. To make matters worse, the hotel gave me a completely different room than what I had paid for. It was clear that they did not prioritize customer satisfaction or even basic HONESTY. The room itself was nothing short of horrible – it was dirty, poorly maintained and lacked basic amenities. It was a far cry from the advertised standards. Naturally, I immediately complained and even followed up with an email expressing my dissatisfaction. However, to my dismay, I did not receive a refund or any form of compensation for the terrible experience. The lack of responsiveness and accountability from the hotel management only added to my frustration. Overall, my stay at The Great Madras was a complete DISASTER. The hotel's disregard for customer satisfaction and their shameless reception front desk left me feeling cheated and disrespected. I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice, GO AND EXPLORE OTHER OPTIONS. The Great Madras has proven to be a horrible choice, both in terms of the quality of their rooms and the management's handling of customer complaints.

Overall, the room’s cleanliness is lower than what we would have expected. - There was a urine stained on the toilet bowl. - The cup provided wasn’t cleaned since there were some liquid and residue left in there. - Even the bedsheet cover had stains and looked worn out. - Not sure if it’s only my room but there were times where the power will turn off by itself. - After calling for Room Service, it felt like it was not thoroughly cleaned and not to my satisfaction. - Overall, the price point set for the room isn’t worth for such stay.

Avoid at all cost. I should have read the reviews before booking. It also looks nothing like the pictures so don't be fooled! Like other reviews the room we got checked into was disgusting. The bed sheets looked like they had just been remade from the last guests and where covered in hairs. I complained to the reception and they moved us room. The next room was also disgusting not clean. This seems like a common practise here. The bed had a single duvet put on the bed sideways so when my partner and I went to sleep we found that the duvet was only enough for one of us. The reception was closed at this point At night there is a “dancing” club next door which basically sounds sounds like its in your room at night. There is absolutely no sound proofing in the rooms so you can hear everything and I mean everything this is not an understatement. Lastly the lights at night from the hallway and the outside of the room window stayed on all night usually in hotels these will go off not this one so all night your room will be lit up while the dancing club is booming. The only reason I'm writing this review is because these people should not be taking money from anyone its disgusting that they cant even clean the room correctly for new guests. Pay a little extra and go somewhere else!

Avoid at all costs. Scam - it's not a hotel but a mock of a hostel/inn and at least the standard room looks nothing like the marketing photos. Mould on tiles, rust, live insects on walls, really dirty and worn down. Strong chlorine/chemical smell possibly to try to cover the smell of mould. Had to leave immediately due to health issues. Staff indifferent, this seemed like a business as usual to them, "nothing can be done", no refund. Room 203.
