If I could give this property no stars, I would! Please DO NOT BOOK this hostel. The cheap price is very misleading, this hostel is a “self check-in” hostel (we weren’t informed prior to booking) meaning you change your own sheets, no front desk to assist. The place is so dirty and smelly, rooms are so hot, and the other people in bunks have been staying there for a long time, clutter everywhere with big luggages, dirty bathrooms too. Me and my partner had to rest for awhile after a long trip and I couldn’t stop sneezing because of the dust. We had to transfer immediately, unbearable. Big waste of money!

Paid £421 for 28 days. No clear sign about no refund in case of late cancellation. They tried to tell me cancellation fee was equivalent to how long i booked for. I checked out after four days, and only slept there two of those nights, due to it being unclean and having bed bugs. You could barely fit in one of the toilets and the other was constantly leaking from the bottom. Was left with around 10 huge bites. For two weeks i was asking about a refund, they were avoidant and only after two weeks did they ask me why I checked out and then told me I told them the problems too late? When they took their time getting back to me? I stayed 4 days out of 28, leaving because of the condition of the hostel, but getting zero refund or compensation. They made it my fault. I am now having to accept I will not be getting my £400 back. Unreliable and a scam for money. I posted the above in a review two weeks ago or so. I am updating this review to mention that this hostel is now telling me I am lying about everything. That there were no bed bugs and the pictures I took of my bites were from mosquitoes. As though they didn't have everybody in the room leave so that they could disinfect the room, and as though one of the staff helping with the disinfection didn't tell me it was because of bed bugs, proceeding to take one off one of the mattresses to show me. The extent they are going to to keep my money. Complete disregard for customer wellbeing.

Really budget hostel. Creature comforts are down only the essential. Pros: - Relatively clean mattress and space - Locker is provided with pin, big enough for hand carry luggage Cons: - Self check in, no on site concierge to guide you but WhatsApp chat is fast to reply - You are required to fix up the bed sheets they provide in your locker - Some toilets don't have shampoo for some reason - Tough luck you encounter guests which are noisy and have no basic etiquette - Very poor sound isolation, only curtains. Tons of snoring around, people rolling their luggage in the middle of the night - People with no etiquette bring their shoes up indoors and dirty - Toilets and shower not particularly clean but acceptable - Some of long term guests who stay more than a week TLDR; Probably one of the most budget places to stay but if you are a tourist on a budget and looking for capsule hotels, I would highly recommend paying just a little bit more for a much better experience in some other places.

Terrible experience, these guys put in the lockers the blanket for your bed and they give you the code by WhatsApp as it’s a self check in hostel, unfortunately apparently they gave me the wrong code or the tenant before changed code, so I had to do 2 nights without any blanket. Also the AC was way too strong and I felt sick. Guys please just put the beddings on the beds like every other hostel please

Clean room, comfy bed however the toilet and shower room is a lil bit small and a lil hard to get into the top bed. There is 5g wifi here. Overall great experience definitely will come back again

I book a bed on dorm-room with 20 beds, fortunately wasn't full otherwise will be a mess. Bed are comfortable, have locker to put your bag inside but room is to small for ao many beds/people. The worst: toilets and showers! Only 2 toilets and 3 showers for a room of 20 persons and was dirty and smelly. The room had half of the occupancy so I can't imagine the room and bathroom in days they are full booked, people will have to wait and will be more disgusting. The only comum area is the entrance and rooftop that was dirty, full of rubbish from people that made a party or something bit nobody clean. Isn't a social hostel, no reception, is self check in, so is only a place to sleep. I will not recomend this place due cleaness.

The location isn’t bad with easy bus links and not too far walks to popular locations. The hostel itself however was terrible which was such a shame as done well it could be amazing, the roof terrace is lovely, however it does not make up for how filthy the whole hostel was, the bathrooms were disgusting and we were surprised to find when we went upstairs to use their bathroom instead of ours they didn’t have any toilets in, meaning there would have been 40 people sharing 2 toilets and 5 showers between the top 2 floors. I can say with confidence my bedding had not been cleaned as it stunk and was stained. Our room door also did not have a soft shut on it, meaning every time someone left or entered the room, which happens quite a lot in a 20 person dorm, the door slammed shut. People could obviously make an effort to not let this happen but the hostel could easily just also install a cheap soft shut for a solution. The self check in service is preference, which I was not a fan of, but you should at least have staff in at some point to clean the bathrooms and the floors at least, there was stains and spills on our bathroom floor through the entire stay with no effort made to have them cleaned. The arrangements of the rooms also made no sense, none of the lockers married up being under the bed of the person. So I was kept up one night by someone sorting their stuff out at their locker which was at the end of my bed, then woken up early another day by the same problem, and I’m sure when I left at 4am for my flight the poor random persons bed my locker was under was probably awoken as I collected my bags from my locker. This hostel has the potential to be amazing with just a little more love and detail put into it, maybe downsizing some of the dorms to try moderate the foot fall and mess that can be made, especially if no efforts going to be made to clean it up.

My stay was not great here. No person at the reception. You will be only allowed to enter into the facility @3pm. You won’t be allowed in the reception area when you arrive a bit early. The bed is not spacious. Aircon will be switched off from 11 am to 7pm If you ask them to switch on the aircon they will say it will be only switched on @7pm. If you are planning to stay for a week and more the bedsheet and pillow cover is not replaced nor they will give you new one

Please book hotel if you stay with your family!!! Other people need some sleeps and these ignorant family keeps talking at 12AM, make a call in the room. Wake up at 5AM and talk inside the room with the whole family. With lights on, Packing, open the door frequently, and all activities normal people does at 7AM. This is a hostel, not your grandma’s home. Be considerate to other people. Also Someone keeps the alarm ringing without turning off since 4AM!!

I moved from another hostel (which was very disappointing) in the same street to this one. The cube-beds are amazing, they give you the privacy and good comfort of the beds. 2 reading lights are installed in the cubes which were for me an additional pro. The rooftop terrace is a convenient area to chill. After all I would definitely recommend this hostel!

It is not recommendable. They can't run their own rules for staying quite after 6PM until the next day. I cannot get enough sleep because other guests were talking out loud at 12PM!

Not nearly as clean as advertised- the place is poorly maintained, damp, lots of trash everywhere. Linen was smelly and damp, and the window looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for years. The staff is rude and unresponsive, and I had to wait for 1 hour 15 mins outside waiting for them to generate a code for me, despite having made the booking in advance. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE- CHOOSE TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Guys! Please don’t book this hostel. No person at the reception. Its a self check-in hostel, but they don’t send you the information even after you paid. There’s a number which you can text, but they won’t answer you after working hours. So, If you come after hours, you are screwed.

Not the least safe, no staff on duty (in case of any emergency....e.g fire, fight or injury , who's there to help?) No proper ventilation whatsoever. Go ahead, be my guest and experience it yourself. Good luck!

I booked this place for 2 nights, way too expensive for what you get. A/C is !soo loud! you can’t possibly sleep (especially if you are on the top bunk at the end) People were super disrespectful in the middle of the night, turning on the lights several times. Beds are not necessarily comfy either. Showers & Toilets were clean but would wear flipflops.

Uncleanliness throughout. The bed and curtain had lots of stains, really foul. Clothes hanging everywhere, seemed to be a workers den with lots of foreign workers living at this place. An obnoxious resident guard that watches everything you do and blasts his music without any consideration for anyone else.

I came here alone and had a really nice stay. The hostel is clean and my bed was so cosy. I had good sleep on both nights. Needed to use earplugs on one night as someone was lightly snoring but that is to be expected so ALWAYS bring good quality earplugs to a hostel! I chose to have an ensuite bathroom which means the shower rooms are in same room as the bed area. The toilets are outside of the beds area. Remember to take a picture of your password which will be needed to come into the bedroom and hostel itself after 8pm. Hostel provides locker with it's own lock so you don't need a lock. Bathroom has shower gel and one big towel will be provided. Beds come with two pillow and a duvet blanket. There is a small mirror inside every bed so you can check your face before getting out of your bed in the morning. There is a huge mirror in the bathroom. Will deffo come here again if needed.

I hate hostels that have a no shoes policy, but you can get by with crocs or shower shoes. I wish there was a bigger lobby area to sit and work, or a kitchen, but you basically get a pod, bathroom with private showers, and a large roof to go sit out on. Good price overall.

It's a robot house, just aplace with no personality nor pizazz. It's as sterile as the hospital, there aren't even friendly people. They charge you a deposit without telling you and send you Emails saying that no one will be there but they are. I really regret spending a night here. In the 78 countries I've traveled I've never been to a hostel that won't keep your bag until your late flight on the day you checkout; there's got to be a first for everything! The showers and toilets are tiny and there is only tp in the toilet (unlike the rest of Asia). They aren't true capsules, the beds are stacked 3 by 3 (quite high ceilings) and there are just curtains on the doors. If there are snorers you can hear them. In my bedroom (Istanbul, ground floor) there are no windows. The place is lifeless and not worth staying. Ugh, what a pity...

This is a pod hotel/hostel. It's great value, in a central location. Simple but good facilities like toilets, showers, towel provision, lockable storage, charging points, a/c and comfortable beds.

Clean stay, air-conditioned. I brought my own hair blower, shower cream and shampoo, this is a self check in hostel where you need to book online. What I did was 1. WhatsApp the staff(contact number given at the entrance) to get entrance door pin and other instructions 2. Keep shoes in a designated place 3. Find my room floor and unlock the door with another door pin. The individual locker width was enough to fit 2 average size luggage and deep (my locker)

I stayed for 2 nights, the staff was really helpful during my stay, and easy for people to check in by themselves especially if you arrived in the middle of the night. I got the upstairs bunk bed which was too high for me and the railing was quite far from the stairs so I had to be very careful when I climbed down the bed and grabbed the rail. The bedroom itself was very clean, they gave me clean and new linen also towel. the bathroom needs more attention 'cause it was a bit slippery, We have to wear sandals and most of the time I got no hot water even when I shower in the morning. If you want to use the toilet, I recommend you to use the 1st floor toilet because there is a bidet. Very strategic area with lots of food stall, restaurant even until in the middle of the night.

Bedsheet are dirty can see black spot and dust. No one offer to change bedsheet or blanket for my 2 nights stay. My skin is sensitive i literally scratches my body whole night. The curtain in my dorm is not properly close is spoilt i cant even pull the curtain together people can see from outside. Shower room i saw people peeeing inside instead of going toilet. The basin is disguisting no one clean it. I wanna vomit when i wash my face & brush my teeth. Staffs are friendly but the dorm is omg not worth the money i pay. No coffee or some drinks for us to make just hot water which we hv to boil ourselves. Water dispenser is out of order. Terrible.

Booked a bed here for two nights, as I was in SG for a short trip to watch a concert. This hostel is perfect for those who want to stay within budget, and are used to backpacking/budget travelling. If you bring large suitcases, it would probably be hard for you to bring it upstairs. My advice would be to leave it at the reception first, let the staff know through WhatsApp (they respond fast) and kindly ask for the receptionist/staff's assistance once you spot them. Many people have issues with self check-in. I personally don't mind the self check-in, as social interactions are a bit strenuous for me at times. The location is great, super close to Haji Lane and other Kampong Glam attractions. It's close to bus stops and MRT stations too! There are two 7-11 nearby to grab quick meals and drinks in the middle of the night, if you need so. I will say that I had a pleasant stay overall, aside from one issue of a longterm tenant's snoring, which really disturbed my sleep. However, this was quickly resolved the next day, as I asked the staff if I could move to a different floor and he agreed to it, even apologising profusely for the disturbance. For future travellers: if you're someone who's a light sleeper, and you aren't comfortable with sharing bathrooms with others, don't stay here. Or just don't stay in any form of hostel/capsule hotels. Choose a hotel with private rooms instead, which will certainly ensure your privacy, comfort and soundproofing. If you still want to stay here, you could actually ask the staff for ear plugs if you worry of noises at night, or bring your own. My other issue would be the bunk bed, but I think it's because I'm really short that I have troubles in climbing up and down the upper bunk bed 😆 so if you're short, make sure you get the lower bunk. The bed is pretty comfortable overall, and the shared facilities are actually kept pretty clean. It's just that other guests would sometimes forget to clean up after themselves, and have their luggage out in the open in the rooms. Then again, that's part of the adventure of being a budget traveller, you learn to just tolerate others eventually 😜 I have to give a shout-out to Amin, the receptionist, for being so kind to me during my stay despite my social awkwardness. He helped me with directions, giving tips on where to best buy souvenirs and also where to get halal food on much affordable price. He's also a warm person, really helpful and isn't shy to strike a conversation! Here's another tip to future guests: be kind to the staffs, and surely they'll be kind to you back! Treat others the way you want to be treated, okay? Thank you Beary Best Kampong Glam, I'll surely stay here again in the future 🙌🏼

The bed is comfortable, the storage place is large enough. Air cond still okay. Toilet is clean. The check in time is 8am to 8pm. If you would like to check out earlier, you can drop the access card in a designated area. No breakfast is served as mentioned. The rooftop is a comfortable and nice chilling place at night. The two thing i do not like is no water dispenser and the nearest food court to the hostel is around 1km away.

The location is best! Especially for moslems where Sultan Mosque is just literally a walk away. You can easily stroll the city through the nearest bus station which is also in a walking distance (around 500m). Also located in one most affordable yet tasty culinary center in Singapore! The staff quite responsive and easily contacted through whatsapp. Their security system is best! I even store my luggage after check out for about 8 hours without getting ant additional charge! Thanks to the kind staff allowing me to store my luggage. However, I ordered the upper bunk bed, despite the safety i felt because the bed gorden is not easily touched by others, i feel that the stairs its quite too high as i am petite person. On top of that, love this hostel!!!

I don't mean no racist but please, a little consideration must be observed. Take a shower, we are not used to your smell. Make a call outside and not in the room. At night, people need to sleep, and so do you.

visiting singapore for 2 days; we wanted an affordable and clean place to sleep with opportunities to socialize with other travellers. i personally enjoyed my stay. pods were private, room was air conditioned, and the rooftop was an ideal place to have phone calls or even go for a quick workout - all while enjoying a great view. relative to the pricing, this hostel is well above average.

My second stay at Beary Best Kampong Glam was just as wonderful as the first! The facilities and services are good, and the Beary Best team is responsive and helpful, even handling everything through WhatsApp. The bed and bathroom were clean and comfy, and the location is perfect, surrounded by great halal food options and close to popular spots like Sultan Mosque, Haji Lane and Bugis Street. The MRT and bus stops nearby make getting around a breeze. Highly recommended for budget travelers! The only downside was some super noisy guests late at night, but I hope the management addresses this. On a positive note, I could leave my luggage at the hostel after check-out, making my post-check-out exploration hassle-free. The self-check-in process is a convenient touch, well-explained by the management through WhatsApp with no issues encountered. I'll definitely consider coming back if I'm looking for an affordable stay in Singapore.
