It's not like a Japanese capsule hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful but they go home at 7pm and are not available at night. The main benefit of staying here is the good location on Boat Quay. The showers and toilets are not particularly clean and their frequent use leaves everything wet at most times. It's not terrible, but there is a lot that could be improved. If you are looking for a similarly-priced accommodation but with much better amenities and more available staff, I recommend you try The Pod Capsule Hotel instead. I am staying there now and it's much closer to the "Japan Standard" as far as capsule hotels go.

+ Staff were nice and bed was comfortableā€¦ - no towel provided. There was water under floor in the dorm so anytime you out the bags down they got wet. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. Tiny, filled with mild and hair and other people litter constantly. Honestly some of the worst bathrooms we have found in south east Asia, made worse by the price!

Quite run down, mold in the bathrooms, water everywhere, the whole place used to be awesome, now it feels its run purely for profit due to its dilapidated state, pc available but doesn't work, breakfast no longer included, floorboards lifting in reception area, dated and colour faded art work, advertised deals for tourist attractions not redeemable (yes they offer and advertise them but don't actually sell them), shower curtains mouldy and been there for years (white at top, brown at bottom), feels like everything is broken in this place, needs a renovation asap! The new staff at reception is cute though and v helpful ;) but I won't stay here again, zero vibe, photos tell all

I've had a very pleasant day to stay at the heart of the boat quay here at beat capsule. They have a very nice security checked in, a warm receptionist, a lovely dining area, nice bed and nice shower room. But the stairs was quit challenging.

All the basic amenities are provided though youā€™ll have to prepare your own toiletries. A pity that they no longer offer bread and jam for breakfast like back in 2019. Its laundry service is also chargeable (SGD12 per wash) so weā€™re not allowed to do laundry ourselves. Some corners of the room are accumulated with dust, so for those allergic to dust you might want to reconsider but otherwise itā€™s not obvious unless you store your stuff at the corners. Since itā€™s the cheapest backpacker hostel I could find around the city center (5-min walk from Raffles Place station), thereā€™s not much else to comment about. If you donā€™t mind anything said above, this is still otherwise a pretty okay accommodation for a short stay in Singapore, since the river view and restaurants downstairs are nice too.

We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights. The first night was a complete disaster ā€“ guests kept coming in until 3:30 in the morning and were very noisy. Primarily 4 girls from India who were chatting loudly across the whole room and they had suitcases full of plastic bags that made a lot of noise. The second night from 2 am to 8 am was peaceful. PROS: Excellent location, the option to refill water bottles, shared fridge for food, the possibility to leave your luggage after checkout, ample storage space for your belongings, 4 bathrooms, available hairdryer and complimentary coffee. CONS: Noise during the night from other guests. There was water on the floor in the corner of the room that damaged the floor and seeped down to the kitchen one floor below. Once you pull down the blinds, the unit gets unbearably stuffy in 1 hour while you sleep. The lockers are inside the bedroom, so all the noise was inside the room. High humidity in the bathroom (you can shower again in 30 seconds after drying off), the bathroom floor is always wet, forcing you to walk barefoot constantly.

Very good location. Good pricing. Is neat and clean. The bathroom is clean. They even have refrigerator at public area, visitor can keep their food. Neat walk to Raffles MRT, exit to UOB plaza. Can walk to Esplanade, the art museum. May be can walk to MRT City Hall. Very nice night view. The cons. No elevator, passengers have to hand carry their luggage to 2nd floor or 3rd floor.

Nice hostel located at the lively street, Really convenient can walk to Raffles Place MRT around 10mins. Rooms are clean and aircond quite cold, have locker can keep your bags with secure. Just only things is that day I stayed they are renovating the toilet so only 2 toilet available to useā€¦ but Overall is good to stay here as it is valuable with nice view!

PLEASE REQUEST BOTTOM BUNK DURING BOOKING. Pros 1) Staffs are friendly and helpful. 2) Strategic location - right at the Boat Quay, with a good view from my floor (mix pod @ 2nd floor). 3) Most affordable price for budget stay. 4) Most of the facilities (pod, common area) are basically good. Cons: 1) Like other guests experience, there need to be a massive improvement on the bathroom. Itā€™s not clean but not terribly dirty, a lot do leftover from other guest. A periodic cleaning or equip a small trash bin in the cubicle would be good. 2) Upper bunk is a nightmare throughout my stay, a lot of mobility challenge. Please request a bottom for your convenience. 3) Non-cancellation policy. Unlike other hotel, you are given a grace period of cancellation. So, make your decision wisely before making booking. 4) Privacy and quietness maybe minimal, as expected in the capsule style hotel. For other similar budget capsule hotel, you may check out The Pod Capsule Hotel or KINN. :)

No staff available from 7pm-10am. I reached the hostel late and there was a note by the door that says if youā€™re checking in late, thereā€™s an email sent to you for the instructions how to get in, but I didnā€™t receive any. Had to wait outside the door until the staff replied to my message. The room was clean and didnā€™t have much clutter unlike other capsule hostels iā€™ve stayed at. The capsules are alright, decent space and not too enclosed, but itā€™s quite hot inside. The pillow, blanket and bedsheet seems clean and didnā€™t have any weird smell so thatā€™s a good thing. But the walls are thin. I had a bit of difficulty sleeping because of the other ladies in the room who were chit chatting and laughing until late night. If you donā€™t mind the noise, itā€™s actually not that bad of a place to stay at for a night or two, plus, itā€™s in a really good location, very convenient place.

Shared dorm-type beds with own pull-down blinds and bag locker. Cheap for Singapore, given central location. Very, very clean. Even the bedding and hired towel smelt fresh. Friendly and efficient staff, especially Gabriel and Alise. Good kitchen and common area. Pity there is a lack of counter-space for shaving/make-up/hair drying, and insufficient space for hanging own clothes in the dorms.

Perfect location to see all the attraction near Fullerton Hotel, Marina Bay Sands and Garden by the Bay. All within 20+ minutes walk however, itā€™ll take longer due to photo ops youā€™ll want to take. Close to the buses and MRT at Raffles Place. Dormitory style, super high ceiling. I would recommend a lower bunk. Cooler dispenser provided with hot or cold water, fridge and microwave. Complimentary tea or coffee. Laundry service is an additional charge of $12, next day service. Wet bathroom style, bring your sandle/flip flops if you donā€™t want to share. Only downside was bathroom small and there was only four to share. My bunk wasnā€™t very clean as sheets were stained but lockers under bed works fine with tap key access. One hair dryer & iron for use across reception. Safe area and front staff operates btw 10-7pm daily. Luggage hold while you explore Singapore. Shared space, living area has views of the restaurants below and Marine Bay Sands hotel from the second floor. Location is perfect!

Bad hygiene. Not recommend at all. One of the worst hostel I have stayed in Asia. - Toilets and shower in the same room: super wet, dirty and disgusting all the time - only 4 shower/toilet room for so many people - only 2 shower room got a newer water heater, providing Luke warm water - the other 2 only gives cold water, I had cold water shower for the first two nights herešŸ˜” - no towel, no shower gel and shampoo here - location is good though - bed is acceptable even not very clean - privacy is good with curtain - locker is big enough - the hostel has opened for 4 years and the facilities are obviously not well maintained I have stayed here for 4 nights , and this hostel was the worst part of my Singapore Trip.

There was no food at all. Shower only lukewarm water. No towel. But bed was ok. Girls were trying to be quiet in their capsules. Very near Raffles place (metro station)

I stayed 2 nights in this capsule last month. The location is good, quite near to MRT station, many restaurants downstairs, few 7-11 around, with nice view. Not too noisy at night. the room is clean, smells good. The upper bed is difficult to climb up, I got the upper even I have remark I need the lower. but luckily second day I able to get transferred to lower bed.

This hostel is strategically located in the heart of Singapore and next to CBD. The nearest MRT station is Raffles Place, exit via UOB Bank HQ, walking distance within 10 min. Cleanliness is good as they prohibit wearing shoes in their premises, which is very Asian thing to do, aka ā€œno shoes in houseā€ in almost every Asian family. Tips: bring your own slipper to wear indoor if you need one, as well as bring your own towel and toiletries.

LOCATION Unbeatable, youā€™re right in the middle of everything. Walking distance to Marina Bay Sands. Countless bars & shops & restaurants around you. ROOM Large (30 pax) dormitory, so no privacy, but you know that if youā€™re booking a hostel bed. There was a light always on, even during the night, and when I signaled it to the staff I was told itā€™s on automatic setting and nothing can be done about it. Also the aircon is always on so bring a jumper as it might get chilly in the room even if itā€™s tropical hot outside. BED Somewhat comfortable, we did get good sleep. There is however no shelf and/or storage room in the capsule so whatever little things you have there must be in the bed while you sleep, not convenient. BATHROOMS An absolute joke, if we can even call it a bathroom. The 2 square meters boxes which combine a toilet and a shower were disgusting, no one has cleaned them in ages. Not to mention there are only 4 of these boxes for 40+ pax. Also there was no soap available during the stay. If it werenā€™t for these ā€œbathroomsā€, it wouldā€™ve been a nice experience but this just killed it.

Great location and the sleeping pods are nicely furnished with electricity and a small storage area. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, cups and a water dispenser with cold or hot water for cup noodles. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the inflexibility of the staff. We actually wanted to check in a day later due to food poisoning but the hosts were unfortunately adamant about an exception free cancellation and we didn't want to give away the one night either due to the price. About this circumstance we were very sad and could not understand it either

Great location. Relatively good price. You have your own cabin which can turn into private mode thanks to the capsule curtain. Simple breakfast but I liked the Nutella a lot. Picture attached is view from reception office.

Convenient and close to attractions. Mixed pods or female only. Needs more racks and space for holding things. Good public space. Definitely bring earplugs. Free breakfast. Bathroom needs remodeling. Been to many pod places and this one is average.

Situated in the middle of CBD area. Nearby to Raffles Place MRT station. Can get pretty noisy at night as there are bars and restaurants along the place. Great value for money. The female only hostel was comfortable. The attached bathroom and showers for female room is very convenient.

Money worth it! A cheaper than most place to stay. The Queen capsule was comfortable. Felt safe. The storage was adequate for bag packs. The shower and toilet facilities were good, clean and functioned really well. The shower were good. Would recommend for solo or couples. Great location to take a train (MRT) to all the sights you'd like to go too. The staff were friendly and helpful Would stay again

There is not free breakfast. Reception hours at 10am. If there is something wrong you need to call by WhatsApp. Definitely donā€™t come. There are other opciones better in the same area. I have been here 4 Fuad out of 6 and I canā€™t even cancel my reservation to leave this place. DONT COME!

plus: 1. suitable for single backpackers or groups. The room is like a capsule. 2. The room is clean because shoes or sandals are removed before entering the room, and the room is cleaned every 12.00ā€“15.00. 3. There is a curfew for not making noise; at 8 p.m., you can't make noise. 4. The location is very close to the Merlion, only 5 minutes walk. close to Clarke Quay, Chinatown, Marina Bay, Garden by the Bay, or a strategic location for taking the MRT and buses. If you leave the MRT: raffles places station, exit G, walk about 5 minutes to this hostel. Minuses: Because it's a hangout area and office area, when you come home from work, at night with a view of the river (riverside), the street in front of the hostel is full of people chatting, dinner or hanging out until midnight.

Not real pods, just a normal dorm with blinds. Problem with closed blinds it gets really hot inside. Overall ok if you get a good price, otherwise I would prefer a real pod with personal a/c. Service is friendly and professional. Location is perfect for most travellers I guess.

Perhaps dirty linen like this shouldn't be put on until its spotlessly cleaned, it didn't give you confidence. Cant make complain since no staff around and the upper bed is quite dangerous to climb. Location wise is perfect

Staff are incredibly nice and helpful here, really made my time here a stand out. Stayed in a female only section that was an extension of a mix room so bathrooms ended being a mix. Typical toilet-shower wet room combo. Small communal kitchen area with a very basic, but free bfast spread. Location in Boat Quay is great and a couple minutes walk from Raffles Station. Would stay here again.

  • 3/5 Aisha 1 year ago on Google
The location was great, the toilet and showers were in the same room so I didn't get much sleep with people showering at all times during the night.

Location wise, BEAT hostel is one of the places solo traveler or backpacker like me would consider. It is very easy to locate and it's practically near the major tourist spots in Singapore. If your riding a train, drop off at Raffles Place and exit E. Take a short walk and head towards the bay. Along the way, you will find a Hawkers place where you can eat authentic food in a very cheap price. You will also find Starbucks and McDonalds along your way. Finding BEAT hostel along the stretch of the bay be be a lil tricky because of store signages but don't fret, it's just a few walks away. You will be amazed how vibrant the place actually is.

Pro: -Location at the Harbor and close to most attractions -safe neighborhood -capsules were private -dorms were quiet even with many people -wifi was decent -the bathrooms were in the room and there were a lot of them Con: -no towels (which is a bit odd for that high price) -sometimes the showers would just be luke warm -upper bunk beds a bit hard to climb up and down so probably request a lower bunk bed -no air conditioning control and it was quite cold -the room light was on all night and couldnā€™t be turned off

  • 4/5 Jaime G. 1 year ago on Google
Everything was great, just the AC in the room with the double beds, was not powerful enough and was a bit warm so we couldn't pull down the privacy blinds cause it's too hot. Besides that, zero complaints. Great experience. If you're a light sleeper also it's a bit noisy outside from the bars but it's worth it for the location near MRT and food shops.

  • 4/5 Vishnu K. 1 year ago on Google
Great capsule option. If youā€™re looking for a stay on the go, this is something you should surely check out. Location of the stay is just amazing with MRT services walkable, food options downstairs and brilliant views. A walk around this area is so much fun and satisfying. Avoid this place if youā€™re looking for a private space or hotel level services. If you have a lot of luggage or commuting via car as well, avoid this place. Iā€™d surely visit this place again if Iā€™m travelling solo.

Comfortable, affordable, neat and tidy. The most important is it located at centre of the city. Easy to find. Also, the staff so helpful and friendlyšŸ„° already in my fav list for next visitā¤ļø

Really clean for a hostel. We only had some dirt at the table in our capsule. Free coffee. Spacious capsule. The room smelled soo nice even though 40 people were in there. Bath was alright. Some hair got stuck in the showers.

  • 3/5 Mila P. 4 years ago on Google
The hostel is nice enough but photos were a bit deceiving and expected a bit more. The biggest let down is the shower facilities. There are only 4 shower/toilets per 20 people in a dorm which meant it was like rush hour trying to get in some mornings. I also didnā€™t enjoy the fact that the shower and toilet are all squeezed into a tiny cubicle, meaning the toilet is always wet. Apart from that it was good for laying your head at night but wouldnā€™t be spend more time than you need to.

Nice location for scenic of Boat Quay both reservation room and capsule room. All of staff have good service-mind, so kind and good looking as well. Breakfast was really good with perfect view in the morning. Facility are enough for standard hostel but it hard to manage belonging for people who stay on the upper bunk because the locker was set on the floor.

Not too sure. I guess that I have made the wrong decision. Hardly can sleep. Not sure about the internet because I was using my own. Customers keep checking every hour. The view from the room is great.

The best hostel I have EVER stayed in! Extremely clean beds with modern finishes. Love the little shades that pull down for privacy. The staff is fun and welcoming! They have a little free breakfast each morning and free coffee all the time. Also the air conditioning is amazing they keep it nice and cool. Insanely good location right on the bay too. I am so glad I stayed here!

First time stayed in pod room. Not bad but definitely some of you who are light sleepers should bring your own earplugs (people snoring, talking, etc etc). The hosts are really nice, they are very helpful towards every guests and they remember our names too (feels like home somehow) On note : They should improve their bathroom more clean. The floors are slippery and there are no enough lights, so yeah...

The basic stuffs are okay, but the frontdesk has been irresponsive to request. The room is so warm at night if you put down the capsule blind that we were sweating while sleeping. Thereā€™s a sign to remind people do not keep their shoes in the room but many still do, the hostel people did not check as well, making the room smell like old shoe rack. Location easy to find, check in process is easy, but dont expect you will get a peaceful sleep because itā€™s on the most happening street where alot of drunks will scream shout and fight there. Plus very considerate hostel user talk loudy in the midnight when everybody is sleeping, grumpy lady making loud noises while packing luggage at 6am, a lot of uncontrollable issues that spoil your sleep but no hostel staff there to make sure user stick to the rules.
