I stayed here for 3 nights to attend a concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium. This hostel is clean, both in the rooms and shared area. The bathrooms are wet because of course there are people using them from time to time. There are two good and affordable food centers nearby. This place is near Lavender MRT too. The AC in the room was super cold though :( too cold :( Overall, I would still recommend this place to people who travel on their own and want to meet some travel fellows and save costs ^^

No towels provided but other than that this hostel was great. Clean and tidy with lockers in room and space under the bunk beds. Aircon worked well and all the staff we encountered were really friendly. They worked really quickly and although check in time was 3 then checked us in just after 10 as soon as the bunks were ready which was much appreciated. The common area isn't massive but it's relaxed and tidy.

The way staff talking to us is very rude and bossy Staff will come to turn of the air-cond at 7am if you stay at dorm room, saying air-conditioning is only available 7pm-7am Never experience such unreasonable rule, hopefully they can review their rules and regulations again

The place is walking distance from bus stops and train stations. There's a bunch of affordable places to eat. The rooms are nice and chill, and the staff are very easy to talk to, very helpful. I LOVE the beanbags. The common area has a great, chill, working environment.

It didn't really exceed my expectations nor was I disappointed. I'm satisfied during my stay at the Hostel. My only concern was the lack of curtains on the bunk beds. I prefer to have a measure of privacy so I don't want to be disturbed or disturb my neighbors. But the staff was hospitable and friendly and accommodating so no complaints there. Just invest in some curtains...

The hostel is in a prime location and was easy to locate. Its proximity to the MRT Lavender station was a great plus. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms also have lockers. There’s no housekeeping provision but still the rooms were clean during the stay. Bathrooms were also well maintained. Security system is also nice. If you have a lot of luggage, you might have a little trouble going up the floors. We found a few cockroaches during the initial days but the problem didn’t escalate.

Been here for quite a bit of time, had zero problems. Clean and quiet place with lots of places to eat near by. Also the bus stop and MRT is close at hand. Seen them vacuum & mop daily, cause there’s quite a turnover. There’s Enough washrooms(male/female separate) with hot water. Room’s have air conditioning & a fan. Common area seen in pictures. I think you get more than what you pay for, considering Singapore hotel costs👍🏽👍🏽

The place is clean n tidy not the house rules being letting all needed to be known as basic, such as no loud music or phone chat inside the room while others are resting or sleeping . Always flash or keep the toilet clean sign board place in washroom. The reception have to remind all stayer to keep their room clean at all times as some rubbish being throw any where from some alien country people who don't know what is cleanliness.

The overall environment was pretty good, and the staff was nice too! We checked in as late as nearly 12 am and the staff girl was still willing to wait. The location is near Bendemeer MRT so not difficult to move around. Also there were some small dining centers only some steps away so you won't get hungry during the stay.

I booked 7 nights. I was lucky to get a lower bed. When i got to the room, technically i have 1 roomate but she was not there for few nights. Room was clean. A little dusty and still have few hair strands on the edges. The sheets were not changed in the duration of my stay. Mattress was thick, comfy. No towels provided. Please bring your own towel and toiletries. Shower room was clean too. Very convenient as the ladies bathroom is near my room. Staffs were friendly. I seldom stay in the lounge as too many people at times. Ill go downstairs only to eat breakfast as food not allowed in the room. They have a mini kitchen where there is a water Despenser , cups and utensils can use. 50sgd refundable deposit required upon check in. Convenient location, 9 minutes from lavender Mrt. Near fairprice and hawker centre. The lobby was in 2nd floor. And rooms were in 3rd floor. No elecator, have to carry your stuff upstairs. Not advisable for travelers with multiple bags or large luggages. Whole stay was okay. Noises are expected in hostel environment. Not able to sleep early unless very tired. Check in is 3pm and check out is 10am. I checked out early at 7am. They allowed me to leave my things in the lobby. I was assured by the staff that its fine as they have CCTV. But just to be sure, better dont leave any valuables.

I stayed here for 2 nights, Placed is really nice , clean and comfortable. Only issue I faced with sharing bathroom because it some times ran out of water supply and not clean. But the stuff and surrounding environment is so good. walking distance to a gym, and you will have a food court downstairs, shopping mall nearby and also access to all public transport in walking distance. also met new friends from different countries.

Thoroughly enjoyed the hostel for most part, near transport and food shops. 7/11 nearby and close to Little India. Receptionists were helpful and incredibly clean once you enter hostel itself, well done to the cleaner. Some other guests were quite annoying and rude (talking on phone at night, unpacking all bags at 2am making a racket) Overall though I great place for me to stay for 3 nights in Singapore 🇸🇬

Very friendly reception staff! The restrooms need to be cleaned more often during rush hours. Otherwise, the location and general maintenance are good.

The room size was extremely small. Please don’t go by the photos shown. Also - the staff is not very accommodating. I would request all to review other options as well. Location is good - near Lavendar MRT so accessibility is not an issue. But yes - make sure you read all the reviews before making any decision to stay here.

Very good value and location in the heart of Singapore for the price. Nice people, clear rules and good and clean equipment. I spent 4 nights in a women dormitory room. I was satisfied with the space, accompanion and quiet during the night. Locker and WiFi for free available.

The good: 1) Nice and peaceful area. 2) They have AC and fan as well. 3) Beds are comfortable and clean. 4) Toilets are clean as well. 5) Staff is polite and kind. 6) Cheap restaurants just across the street where you can get Indian, Chinese and Malay food. 7) 24 hours coffee and reception. The bad: 1) No elevator. So prepare to carry your luggage to 2nd or 3rd floor. 2) Breakfast is not interesting. 3) Towels not included. Pay extra 2 SGD per towel.

I stayed 22 - 24 January 2024, the bedroom and bathroom were clean, there was a bidet available, there was refillable water and a microwave, the distance was very close to Lavender Station and other public transportation, and what I highlighted most was the service was very good, all the receptionists were very friendly and very helpful, thank you for the extraordinary service

Great experience and stay here! Management are very accomodating, fine dorm rooms and restrooms, free wifi, and snacks. Photo was a simple treat from the management when I move out. Thank you Pine Hostel!

Very friendly staff who are being really helpful. The environment is clean. Everything for backpackers at all disposals! Wonderful location close to three food courts. Never be hungry. Easy walk to some tourist attractions if you want to save money from MRT. Close to temples especially Indian ones plus Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple!

Our room was clean and somewhat quite enough to sleep. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around. The toilets are tiny and really dirty. On the second day our kids refused to use the toilets. On our second day, The sink water from the shower was flooding the corridor. The toilets were clogged, but that did not seem to cause any concern with the owner. If you leave luggage after check-out in the reception area, then be careful not to leave anything valuable behind. Nobody will check who’s taking the luggage. Literally anybody can walk in there and take the luggage.

nice hostel with high standards. very clean bathrooms, clean rooms & big lockers. only issue is the size of the rooms, could be a bit small for sharing with strangers

Far from Bus/MRT. The room and female WC is normal standard, not very clean as my expectation. It looks really like a dorm for students not traveller.

I booked my stay in this hostel for 9 days - huge mistake. I’ve stayed in multiple hostels as I love travelling and meeting new people. This time, the travel was international. So I booked a mixed-bed dorm so I can maximise my chances of mingling with new cultures. But we were allocated a room based on our ethnicity. And all guys despite booking a mixed dorm. The room was also so incredibly small. To be competitive honest, it was almost the size of my bedroom’s washroom back home. And 6 people had to sleep in it. I expressed my concern and dissatisfaction at the reception but there was absolutely zero effort for resolution. The hostel also doesn’t have an elevator. You have to climb severa stairs to reach the reception and there is no ground floor in this building. And my suitcase weighed 25 kg (50 lbs). I was hoping that at least the lobby would be a good place to mingle with folks. But the hostel environment was such that nobody had any chance or nudges to interact. There are no fun games or social amenities. As for the location - there are no good hawker centers nearby and the nearest MRT is about a 10-min walk away. Anything more than 10 SGD per night for this hostel would be too high in my opinion.

Good location near the Bendemeer MRT and bus stops. The bed and facilities are worth the money, but the restrooms would have been more. Also the majority of the beds are on the 3rd floor with no lift so it would be difficult if you have many luggage.

The beds are quite hard, but the location is good, and with a big group this is easily a good recommendation, especially with the common room to chill in

Stayed for 3 nights and it was very comfortable! The bathrooms were constantly cleaned and there were many of them so I never waited to use one.The rooms had good aircon (they had certain times to turn it on- top bunk might feel colder than bottom) Good wifi for working/school Bed had a thick ish blanket Check in was quick and easy. Would stay here again! Location was near busses and metros (7min walk away) 7-11 is a 1 min walk away and many options for food around the street (cash only and local app payments). Fancy coffee shop right in front. Only downside was no elevator! I had a heavy check in bag to take up to the 3rd floor

The price is good for the value. Free breakfast and tea. Common area was nice. The WiFi worked great. The dorms are ok. The bathroom are ok too. It’s was close to one of the big underground lines. Good to stay for a few days to explore Singapore on a budget. We also ate there in the foodcourt nearby to which was cheap.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 days from 6 th to 8 th April. I liked it's location and there is a food court in it's ground floor but it is a bit noisy during night time. I got a upper bunk bed and it is very difficult for me to sleep there as the fan is very close. I requested for another bed but there is none left as the hostel is fully booked.

I and my friends recently stayed at Rucksack Inn Singapore for two nights and I absolutely loved it! The location is perfect, with a Seven Eleven and food courts nearby, and it's just around 7-minute walk to the MRT Lavender station. The inn is clean, well-maintained, and offers simple yet comfortable accommodations! (but need more effort to bring up the luggage but that's okay!) The bathrooms are in great condition (really clean), and having access to a kitchen to make meals was convenient. The availability of water at all times was a plus! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. I really enjoyed my stay at Rucksack Inn and will definitely consider staying there again if I'm in backpacker mode in the future. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the hostel for around 4 nights, and my experience was mainly ok and below that a bit. The cleanliness is generally acceptable, but in fact, the washrooms may be hygienically much more improved since they are most of the time quite muggy and wet. The prices few years ago were more reasonable and logical, but in the meantime a bed in 6 people shared room can cost around 25 €!! Absolutely not logical since you can find private rooms well-equipped and served with around 35 €. I genuinely didn’t stay at the hostel except for sleeping, but had been the case, the common area at the reception is not that attractive. No soap, No shampoo, no towels, literally nothing except a bed, I found it inconvenient (not logical at all to buy these stuff for few days, ?) However, I don’t think it’s really recommended since there’s nothing special about it.

Very good place to stay on the budget in singapore. The place is in a great location with lots of hawker food courts around the best food in singapore we had exactly in those food courts! 3 min walk from the local bus stop and 10 minutes walk to lavender metro station. Ladies at the reception were really lovely and helpful. There is a free drinking water and a common area to relax. AC works really well and the rooms and bathrooms are really clean 10/10

Nice hostel! Close to the bus station and 5 minutes walk to the subway which is connected to the airport line as well. I slept in a dorm with, luckily, no one in it on the third floor. There are just a few showers/toilets available. Not much of a social vibe going on but a perfectly fine place to stay for a night or two.

    1. The hostel is placed in the 2nd floor without any elevator. I had to bring my 23kg suitcase upstairs to 2nd floor by myself :( 2. The bedroom space is not private. There are totally 10 beds in a bed room. Bed sheet, pillow sheet, and blanket are dirty because they were not washed for a long time. 3. Service is terrible. The receptionist urged me to checkout from the bedroom much earlier than the ordinary checkout time, so that the hostel can utilize the bedroom to receive more new guests and increase sales and profit. In conclusion, the price there is relatively expensive in comparision with what the hostel brings to its customers.

It's a great cheap hostel in Singapore, everywhere is clean. You get the value of what you pay for. AC is on all day and night. So no worries for hot 🔥 weather.

  • 4/5 Liam R. 1 year ago on Google
The place is clean and air conditioned. The staff are very friendly, and the internet connection is good. The dorm mattresses are a little hard, and there are no curtains or any privacy, so you can hang a towel for some privacy. The main door has a secure lock, and so does each room. You also get your own locker, big enough for a 45 L bag. The area is not *great*, but with how convenient the busses and trains are in Singapore, it's not an issue.

As a solo traveler I was looking out for a prime location hostel which is near to MRT and other transportation. Loved the hostel concept also based on my experience the room and washroom was clean to use plus they also provided lockers to keep your belongings. It is very near to lavender, little India and the place is peaceful to walk .And no worries about food - local restaurants, cafes and seven eleven are there next to the location .

  • 5/5 Ryann Jeb C. 1 year ago on Google
The place is very strategic in location, it is near the MRT stations (Lavender and Bendeemer) and bus stops, and you can easily access other different places. It is also near many food shops (Hawkercenters, coffeeshops, and sweet shops) and grocery stores (Fairprice, 7/11) in where you can hop into any time. The place is very affordable, has very accommodating staff (Hello Sir Elvis), very safe, and very home-y. The rooms are very clean and tidy. They also have free filtered water for all the tenants in the pantry and free fast wifi connection. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and to everyone reading this!
