We booked a standard room here for 8 days during September 2022. I am from Singapore but am now based overseas, and I really can't recommend this place to stay in my own home country. Although the location is really good since it is just 2 mins away from the train station and very prime and central to everywhere, but it is not worth it since there are bed bugs. I've gotten a lot of bites and it was very itchy for the whole week. We were also worried we would bring these bugs home overseas with us. I discovered bed bugs on the sheets here at 12 midnight and then the staff at the reception was super unprofessional and insensitive. Even asking me if I want to check out, and insisting that they do not have another room available, if I could go home to stay with my family (Of course I had a personal reason why I needed to stay in a hotel instead of at home.), or providing an uncleaned room which a guest checked out earlier in the day with only one available bed. They cleaned up a family suite as a temporary solution which looks super dirty and I believe I have gotten the bites there. Such a nightmare! Also I've never bitten by bed bugs before and to think that it is an accommodation in my own country. Not worth it! Also it was the F1 week during our visit and almost impossible to find a hotel room during our stay so we had no other choice but to stay put. Although they eventually upgraded us to a premium room, we are still unsure if there are bugs there. The whole hotel seems to be infested to bed bugs so please avoid at all costs!

Most central location in Singapore. It has small but beautiful units. Units are very functional with tea/coffee arrangement. Lots of space to keep luggage. Nice rooms.

Great location and friendly staff, but slightly pricey. While the amenities were good, there are comparable options in the area. Recommended for those valuing convenient location, nearby attractions, and excellent service. Note: Avoid windowless rooms as constant air conditioning can become unpleasant after a few days.

We preferred a hotel with a private bathroom, so we chose YMCA Hostel. Their rates are cheap, but the quality of our stay was 5-star! The room is quite big enough for the price that we paid. The bathroom is clean, and the shower has a heater. Maybe you won't need the heater, given the climate in SG. They have complimentary bottled water. We found out that you can drink water from the faucet, so what we did was we heated the water using the electric thermos, then we put the water in our empty water bottles before leaving the place. We saved a lot of money since water bottles in SG are priced between 1 to 4 SGD. You can also request a flat iron if you need it for your clothes. They also did make up our room once during our stay. Their electrical sockets are friendly that we were not able to use the UK adaptor that we bought. They have a nice cafeteria, we had breakfast there once, and they serve English and Asian breakfast like dumplings. They have a lot of vending machines in and out for refreshments. For the location, YMCA is just a stone's throw away from the bus station and a 2-minute walk to Dhoby Ghaut Station. This place is perfect if you're planning many activities during your stay. Since it is hot in SG during the daytime, we had the leisure to return to our hotel around lunchtime to freshen up and change our clothes. Suppose you are looking for a cheap hotel in an excellent location near Orchard. This one is for you! We would stay here again next time!

Bathroom looks like it hasn't been deep cleaned since its inception. Complimentary water only given on your first day. Cleaning only occurs once every 2 days. Room is tiny and as hot as a sauna due to the unreliable air con system. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Location is decent.

Very beautifully renovated for training and seminars. The rooms are too cold though. Really love the pantry on each level, with coffee and water machine as well as snacks. The pantry spaces are very cosy for chit chats as well.

Last visit here was almost 3-4 months ago. Upon walking in, the place was clean & the staff at the reception counters were all friendly. The room, as usual was clean. Pop by the kitchen & was impressed too. Food, staff & service were absolutely perfect. Really make my day feel slightly better & relaxed. Didn't regret to come here to work. Money well spent.

YMCA @ One Orchard. YMCA means Young Men's Christian Association. This is a worldwide organization for Christian young men. They have schools, hostels, venues for their charity activities, and also commercially Hotel for the public. One of the hotels is in Singapore. Located in a strategic area and has easy access to anywhere around Singapore. This hotel is always fully booked please make a reservation many days prior to your come to this hotel. People like to stay in this hotel because they sell the rooms at an affordable price compare to other hotels nearby. I was staying at this hotel with a group of friends and luckily they have rooms that fit 4 or 5 people. I can save money and comfort for my small group. The hotel itself looks old and the furniture and beds as well, I hope when I get back here they can do some renovations for the rooms and interior.

It’s perfect for budget, solo adventure travelers not so much for business, casual and adult travelers who needs quite, this place is a hostel not a hotel. People can be loud on the corridor hallway if you are unlucky, these rooms and corridors are small so noise gets around very easy. Still for the price this is great accommodations.

Considering the very high prices in Singapore, the YMCA hotel is a good option if you are traveling on a budget. Economic, essential, and unpretentious. The staff is friendly and the location is excellent for reaching the main attractions of the city.

Avoid staying at YMCA. Not a hotel – no service at all! The main reception area looks clean, but not the guest rooms! When we arrived at the hotel on the first day, they forced me to sign on their Ipad that I agree to only one time bed sheet change during 8 night stay. This information should be given to the guests PRIOR to booking! The room smells of damp/mould. Only shower gel provided, no shampoo/conditioner/hand soap. No hand towel, only one bath towel per person. No vacuuming or cleaning of room. We had to phone reception or catch the cleaner everyday to request for fresh towel. You have to bring the dirty towels to them and let them count. They act like the guests will steal the towels! There were many crawling insects on the toilet wall, room floor and table. When we complained, cleaner randomly sprayed the wall, not where insects were seen. The room aircon was horrible; either too cold or too hot. The controls do not work. Only 2 bottled water, 2 tea bags and 2 coffee bags on the first day of our stay. No replenishment. They put a small notice, asking the guests to buy bottled water from them. The water heater for the shower is antique and the electrical cables were exposed! Hotel technician kept saying it was safe! When we booked the “hotel” online, they did not inform us renovation work was planned. On the 2nd day of our stay, we suddenly saw a notice that renovation was ongoing. When I wrote to management about the poor services, they did not respond. Appalling!

This is a good budget accommodation option for Singapore. We had an early arrival on our flight in and were allowed to check in a little early which was helpful. The rooms were good and had a fridge. The gym here is great for a hotel/ hostel - it's a proper gym rather than the usual fitness centre.

PROS: Good value, good aircon, comfy beds, good location, near a couple of key central MRT stations and nice botanical gardens next door. Wi-Fi was good. Rooms themselves are small, but ok for a short stay. CONS: Room was never cleaned once in our 4 day stay. TV only had 5 channels, only 1 english channel with not much on it. Lots of facilities and events for younger people, which you'd expect at a YMCA, but can be noisy as a result. Roof top swimming pool is nice, but bear in mind there are regular swimming classes which may mean you can't use it when you want to, which we found frustrating. Main issue was noise... a large school trip group arrived and kids were running around corridor slamming doors until 11pm. Our room was also under "Studio 9", which has regular exercise classes playing thumping music until 9.30pm. One night it went on until 10.30pm, so we asked to be moved to another room (which to be fair, they did), but our new room was near a cafe, also noisy during the day! In summary, good budget value. Best point is location, but as regular events make it a noisy hotel with restricted access to the pool, you may want to look at other hotels in the area.

Very nice stuff, very good gym! The room is okayish. The gaps between door and door frame are so big and since the light in the hallway is ALWAYS on, it is way too bright in the room. And also this is not very sustainable. The doors are bad and you hear everything from the hallway, even though I always sleep with earplugs. Cleaning service came once (we stayed for 4 nights) which was fine for us. The room is very small, the bathroom is okay. Can't confirm the urine smell from last ratings, but I expected an overall better quality of the room.

Very disgusting hotel. The isolation of the room is very bad. The floor is carpet amd unhygienic. Breakfast no vegan option. Coffee no Cappucino or special coffee. Tables for breakfast were not clean. We would never return.

Location is good, the daily free breakfast is ideal for any college student travelling on a budget. The gym hours are incredibly inconvenient, only allowed from 6:30-6:30 unless you are a member. Bottom line if you're looking for a short cheap stay with limited amenities look no further.

Great location with lots of history around this place. Only challenge here is that there is no shelter leading to the building and car park lots are very limited. For hotel, decent rooms but a bit steep on price but you do hv great location... Function rooms are also fine, and there is a huge auditorium in there though

Place is in the middle of 2 train stations (bencoolen & dhoby ghaut), bus stop is just a few steps away. Nearby vending machines for drinks & 7eleven a few meters away. Rooms are always kept clean with the beds being made everyday, the surrounding (hallways & lobby) are always kept clean and the ambiance was great.

Not sure even where to start. Supposed to be a 3 stars hotel, but it was worse than a 2 stars hotel for many reasons. I understand it is a social enterprise, hence many youths are training. The person in charge failed to do the hospitality job properly. Rooms were damp and mouldy. The ceiling seemed to have mould and dust, not cleaned for a long time. The air con vent was full of mould or dirt and I worried for my health for breathing in bad air. The hanger where the cupboard was, had specks of dust flying around. Carpet seemed not cleaned for ages. If you think the room was bad, the bathroom was worse. There were lots of insects flying around. There was no ventilator, hence the next option was to open the windows and insects started flying in. I was referring to 10s of insects, not just one. No shampoo or conditioner. I had to change rooms because the first room they gave was ridiculous. It had a huge stench and the beds were blocking the door such that it would not even open fully. I stayed for 8 nights and was told only 2 bottles of water and cleaning was done once a week 🫨🙄 (meaning just before i checked out). Yet, they still had the decency to charge for service. They refused to oblige when requested to clean additional. Towels were prized gems here. If you like to get new towels, make sure you gave them the old ones to exchange for the new ones. Otherwise, no old towels, no new towels. I enquired about shower after check out. The ridiculous answer was to hang on to the old towels, bring it with me and use it for shower. They would not provide new towels. Was planning to use the swimming pool. There were too many restrictions. You needed to exchange for the pool card and there was a timetable of when the pool was not accessible. It was not purely for guests use. Luggage storage was DIY. You practically had to grab hold of the luggage cart on first floor, push to 3rd floor (where you arrived) and pushed the cart to your room to unload, then pushed the cart back to first floor. Even writing the procedures made me tired. The location was ok, with lots of food and mrt stations. But it was a pain to cross the traffic junction to the dhoby ghaut station. I could understand if the "social enterprise" like to provide some training ground. However, the price charged was ridiculous, as high as $180 off their website. It was just a super rip off. Not one that I would take kindly. Keep your money and stay elsewhere. There is no service, no quality and worse, full of bugs/insects in the room. Avoid at all costs.

Great location , short walk to Little India or Arab St . Fort Canning Park is 5 minutes away and worth a visit. All you need in a hotel . Really friendly and kind staff Easy check in . Drinks and snacks in the lobby at great prices They also have a Cafe , although we didn't check this out because Tekka Centre and a myriad of food outlets are so close . National Museum is right next door .

It's a fine accommodation. It's clean and has a lot of things to offer as a guest. The location is great. However, it's really loud and noisy. Also the lights never get switched off on the floors and the room doors do not close shut. So you have constant noise from your room neighbours coming home or talking on the floor + light. The receptionists are really nice and overall the YMCA is clean and an ok place to stay.

Nice hotel but basic. I stayed in a room with a double bed and a city view. The room was clean although it had an unusual perfumed smell. The shower did not get hotter than luke warm but it had good pressure. The breakfast provided was good. A nice variety for a cheaper hotel in Singapore.

Loving the place, it is very strategic from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. Clean place. But my room smelled like feet.. i dont know. i think it came from the carpet 🥲 the plumbing sounding too loud. But yeah, it was an okay stay for only a night

Convenient for short stays. 2-3 days max. Pros: Good price and perfect location. Cons: Windows are not opening, there is no fresh air. There is a constant smell of mold in the room. Furnitures are old. Power sockets are not enough. Instructions are not clear about when and how to get the room cleaned or change towels.

Stayed here for one night only. Room quite spacey, clean, and location wise it is very closed to MRT, walking distance about 200-300m. Staffs are very friendly, they helped us to book taxi to airport. It also have vending machine outside which is very convenient if you are starving in the middle of the night. Very close to many of churches, and Fort Canning (which to me in the night, feels a bit spooky). Bathroom is very clean (this is important for me). You can hear people walking in the corridors, walls also very thin you can hear someone’s laugh in the other room. But after a tired days surfing around Singapore, you barely notice this. As other review says, summarizing all of these aspects, price wise it is a bit slighly higher compare those around the area. But I don’t mind come back here again considering the location.

We did not reserve the hotel but reserved another hotel instead. However, the driver wrongly delivered us to YMCA. Even though, YMCA helped us to deliver the luggages to the right hotel. The lady Clement and her colleague are very helpful. They helped to deliver luggage and arrange pickup. They are very kind-hearted. We are very grateful for their help.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to Mdm Kumari and the male staff at the YMCA hotel for their outstanding hospitality and service during my recent stay on December 1st. From the moment I arrived, their warm welcoming immediately set the tone for a delightful experience. Mdm Kumari, with her remarkable attention to detail, and her courteous male colleague (whose name, unfortunately, I didn't catch) consistently provided a level of service that exuded genuine care and professionalism. Their thorough knowledge about the hotel amenities and surrounding areas made my stay not just comfortable but also insightful. Their smiles and willingness to assist were present throughout my entire visit, creating a wholesome, family-like environment. Moreover, the cleanliness and comfort of the room were beyond my expectations. The attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and the level of comfort provided truly made a difference in my stay. It's evident that the staff take pride in ensuring guests have a pleasant and memorable experience. I am genuinely impressed and highly satisfied with my stay at the YMCA hotel, thanks to the efforts of Mdm Kumari and her dedicated team. Their exceptional service, kind gestures, and willingness to assist at every step made my staycation truly enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming retreat. Once again, a big thank you to Mdm Kumari and her wonderful team for making my stay so memorable!

Was here at the function room, level 4. It's really old, the chairs, carpets, really musty. Toilet need an upgrade. Lobby is really right & modern but everything else is old. The parking chargers are daylight robbery, was here for 4hrs, cost me almost $20.

I have been in this place during our Singapore visit on August 2023 for one night. The price is cheap compared to other similar 3-stars hotel but the service and room amenities provided are really poor. In the room there were only 2 towels (usually there are 4 or more) and there was only the shower gel (no hands soap, shampoo or similar products). The room is very standard and not very large. I would suggest this hotel only for cheap price as the service and room facilities are really poor. If you want only stop for one night it is ok but i would avoid it for longer stay. The breakfast is not included. The staff is friendly.

Lovely hotel! Great staffs! Most important - location location location. It is very close to dhoby ghaut station which has red (NS line); yellow (circle line) and purple line! Rooms are in need of refreshing .. my computer monitor is larger than the in room LCD tv. That said, great value for Singapore if one is here to explore the city/country and not the hotel and the room!

PSA - Do not stay at this hotel. Hotel rooms are passable if you close your eyes and grit your teeth through it (it’s a 3 star hotel after all), so I can accept that. But the staff & receptionist are absolutely horrible. They are unhelpful and rude. I understand there are some requests that may be harder to concede, but they are just unhelpful in the entire process. Will not recommend.

So we booked 4 bed sharing room from goibibo. So 4 bed sharing room mean that they provided us with the inter connected rooms . Room size is very small, They provide counted bottle i.e 2 per day for a room . Don't forget to carry your toiletries with you before checking in , they just provide a body shower . Don't forget to carry your toothpaste , shampoo , moisturizer along with you. Rooms are small but hygiene and cleanliness is 100% . Breakfast was pretty decent , pool on the terrace is good . Don't expect early check-in without paying extra , although we got early check-in after waiting for 4 hours in the lobby cos we had very odd time arrival in the Singapore. But overall it's a good place to stay and centrally located to little India , buggies, malls ,metro station. P.S. The main issue I faced was that they don't have water supply system in toilet area ,so they provide Toilet paper in the wash room so for a person like me travelling from INDIA it was very frustrating

YMCA @ One Orchard is an absolute gem! The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Singapore's vibrant Orchard Road. The rooms are cozy, clean, and offer all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel right at home. The location is convienient but that is the only pro of staying at this hotel. The facilites are old and look different from pictures online. The room is dusty and the bathroom is stained. In my room, there is also unpleasant smell coming from the drains in the bathroom which became unbreable. There are also drain flies in the bathroom and they are very annoying. I spoke to the front desk and they found someone to spray some bug spray down the drain but my room smelt like bug spray that night. When I woke up in the morning, the drain flies are gone but the drain smell is still there. My room smelt like a public bathroom. I asked to switch room that morning, although there is no smell in the new room, there were still drain flies in the bathroom. They also only provide two mini bottles of soap which is hand wash, shampoo and shower all in one. Please note they also do not provide toothbrushes and toothpastes. On top of that, towels and beddings seem to be dirty, as I kept getting skin rashes while sleeping in the bed. I also found a squished dead fly on the bed sheet. I strongly not recommend this hotel unless you can put up with the above hygiene conditions. I was orginally planning to stay for 15 nights but after 5 nights, I had enough and checked out from the hotel.

What a horrible place. They swore I didn’t pay for the room yet. And I had to send them proof of my bank account, after which they only said ‘sorry’. Also they totally ruined my laundry. The body temperature is measured at the entrance, but savings are made on the soap for scrubbing the: -l 2 large bars of soap are available for 1 SGD, but finding it was time-consuming. But 1 * less. Breakfast varied and 🤑. Flatter pillow was possible, complete. Linen change after 2 days! Sensitive people should have ear plugs with them. (Original) Ein besonders guter Griff! My room has an occupancy of three adults and our room was upgraded to a large room that was very comfortable. I feel some of the services and management of the facilities can be handled better. For example, there were no clear instructions on how to gain entry into the gym, they do not honour the operation hour as printed on the notice, no indication which lift is the only lift that goes to B1. Food prices from the Y Cafe was overpriced and not very well prepared. Some of the food taste like is microwaved. However, overall stay was pleasant and they do have friendly English speaking staff.

There are lots of comfortable seating at the ground floor with aircon, desk and charging points. Useful if you need a place to get work done / read / work discussions. Staff doesn’t seem to bother if you stay for a long time.

No fuss check in process as we paid and confirmed upfront..just a note : for 3 nights stay, room was cleaned only once (informed prior check in). No toothbrush & no toothpaste..but there's big blue umbrella which is useful since we checked in & later days are raining mosty :)

Good hotel at a reasonable cost. The rooms are a bit small, and they were fixing the elevator during my stay so changing floors took forever. On the roof, there is a large pool, which is very nice. The staff is friendly and efficient, and everything is clean.

(Translated by Google) The room is small! The water pressure of the bath shower is strong! However, it is reasonable considering the price. I didn't have breakfast, but there are food courts and 7-Eleven nearby that are open from morning. It's very convenient because it's near the subway. I went for a walk through the countdown fireworks (Original)

YMCA @One Orchard Rd.A place where people from all Walks of Life goes to stay. It's not a place where unlike some hotels have shops & amenities inside the hotel.Though YMCA also have a Swimming Pool & a Gym & the rates for their rooms fluctuate daily depending on the peak periods. It's a stone throw away from SMU & closed to the Downtown Line

YMCA has very good and affordable rates for long term stay and carpark is free on a first come first served basis. During my 1 month stay, we always had a lot to park in. They also hire special-abled people, which is a wonderful social cause to support. The rooms are basic and for the price, it is spacious. The social kitchen is alright but the location is so convenient, you can go anywhere easily. There is a small fridge in the room. You might want to bring your own pillows as the pillows are basic; bring also your own toiletries like your shampoo and shower gel. Don’t expect hotel service but you’ll get a decent stay with great pricing.
