I love the virgin gyms but this is by far the crappiest. (Not returning despite being closest to my house) First off let me just say the staff is still pretty awesome but the gym is not what's come to be expected from a virgin gym. It's ridiculously tiny. The equipment is all squeezed together like fitness first (if I wanted the prison experience I would have gone to fitness first. They have more convenient locations) The ceiling is really low. For taller folks this is an issue. Equipment and shower facilities alike. The towel is now changed to some Polyester material which doesn't do anything to dry the person. Very disappointed at the upper management who made some stupid call to save peanuts and kill the user experience.

Small and cosy amongst all the studios, I like the organised booking system of the classes and the luxe offerings VA gives, world class trainers for the classes here. Truly looking forward to the inclusion to more indoor body combat classes here as it’s only avail on wed & fri.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Spend your money elsewhere - my experience here has been quite a letdown so far! The level of service, experience and facilities aren't really the best value-for-money for a premium price ($200++ pm!!!!). This gym is tiny, and unless you book your classes wayyy in advance, (at least 4-7 days) its hard to get into the hot classes. Its also typical for a commercial gym like this to sell hard and promote their PT sessions, but aren't really keeping tabs of their existing members' experience and keeping them loyal & happy. I injured my leg and couldn't attend a spinning class - and for that I've been penalised with a 'strike' on their system, since I didn't see the need to visit a doctor over a sprained ankle. Yes, a medical report is required if you're 'bailing out' of class, and yes, even if it was a mild sickness. More than 3 strikes and you're locked out of the booking system. Cancel within an hour and it'd be 2 strikes. While it is a practical system, they should exercise some leniency on a case to case basis. Some empathy and trust will go a long way too - I consulted the general manager of this outlet for a resolution to this and his response was unhelpful and dismissive. He only managed an 'ultimatum' - turn up for class (yes with your bad ankle), or don't turn up at all but produce a medical certificate. Tad silly if you were to ask me. I am seriously having second thoughts on this gym now, so please consider it carefully. That said, I prefer the VA staff over at PLQ as they are more friendly too - if not for the proximity to work I'd definitely consider other outlets.

My go-to gym. A bit crowded at times, but the classes are good and instructors are very welcoming. My favorite is Ken for HIIT.

As a former member of Virgin Active, I highly caution anyone from joining this unscrupulous gym. When I joined there was only the Raffles Place outlet but I was told that a Tanjong Pagar branch would be opening in about 3-6 months but ended up being about 9 months. The pool was supposed to be opened together with the gym but got a further 2-3 months delay. The front of house staff would continually lie about the openings and would always say that they would be open in the β€œnext month” for many months on end. Joining their classes was also a hellish experience. Popular classes like hot yoga and vinyasa yoga for example, require you to register the same night or in the early hours of the next day to secure a spot. Then when you actually do, there is no organization and the members just lay their mats wherever they wish and if you don’t come early you wouldn’t even have a proper spot. Their billing system was also extremely buggy, with my charges often being incorrect or failing to be charged (in which case they call you multiple times a day) while I had no problems using my card elsewhere. Yet, that same diligence was never extended to when they increase your fees. They had never bothered to reach out to me to inform me that they would be increasing my dues after my contract was fulfilled (three times before I finally had enough and decided to leave). They claimed to have sent me an email each time (which probably ended up in my spam folder, where they rightfully belong anyway) when I had raised the issue to them, but not once did I see any of that diligence to actually contact me to ensure that I actually knew of the increases. Given, they might have all those fancy and fun facilities and features, but with how busy it always gets, you hardly would have the opportunity to enjoy it anyways. Off peak isn’t really an option either considering how short their operating hours each week are at most of their outlets. When they have so many members and so few clubs, you would think that they should keep their outlets open more right? Nope. All these issues combined with the little things like poor housekeeping, frequently damaged facilities, pathetic beverage offerings, unfriendly staff members, extremely uncomfortable workout shorts, worn out towels, etc, just sealed the deal for me to leave. To add insult to the injury, the welcome gifts I got were hideous pink low quality pleather duffle bag and shoe bag while soon after they started giving out sleek and handsome Under Armor ones instead. My whole experience with Virgin Active was one that left me feeling conned, harassed, and endlessly frustrated. Unless you want to feel that as well, I highly recommend you to search for other options.

They keep on reducing the classes even you give them feedback to increase popular class during peak period. Now most of day only have 6-10 classes so pathetic compared to similar VA smaller branches like Holland V or Paya Lebar. Before sign up they mention they are looking to add more classes, I wonder if they are planning to shut down this branch .

Very small gym and everything is crammed and of limited amounts (the cardio machines especially). Changing rooms are small too. They should have rented a larger space for this gym!!

The smallest Virgin Active branch but by far the coziest. Great for weekend workouts or during off peak hours when the gym tends to be less congested. Sadly this gym is to be closed Dec 2023. Guess we will see more congestion at the rest of the gyms in town going forward. Thanks a lot VA.

I love this gym! I bought a day pass and decided to take two classes and do some cardio. I work out almost every day and I consider myself to be in shape. However, the classes, especially the pilates class were hard. The instructors are inviting to new members and visitors. The gym itself if state-of-the-art. It reminds me of Equinox. The bathrooms and lockers are clean and well designed. The bathrooms/lockers are also stocked with basic hygiene products so members can shower or freshen up after a workout. Next time I am in Singapore I plan to workout at Virgin Active.

This might be a compact gym with boutique sizing but the size is the charm... little crowd during the afternoon time on weekdays, you can work out in peace safely (and no one fighting with you over the use of showers!). There is a quaint room if you want to just run on the treadmill or do the elliptical in oeace!

The outlet doesnt follow up the request such as freezing membership for overseas travel as discussed during sign up. They even apply medical reason for their freezing membership period. (How can you work out when you fracture your feet?) On site staff are mostly kind but sometime they got unqualified instructor for the group class who does not understand the difference between intermediate and advanced level class. I told the feedback at the reception and one staff showed an attitude like β€˜so what’ I terminated Fitness First by paying the penalty for their unprofessional mindset and moved to Virgin Active. Now I face almost the same irritation from this Virgin Active outlet.

Virgin Active Duo is a super cozy, nicely located gym that stands out. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, always making sure to meet your needs. Plus, you'll get access to other Virgin Active branches - a fantastic perk. I especially want to thank Muvin, the customer relations manager, and Ken, my personal trainer, who both went above and beyond to help me. If you're seeking a more private gym vibe, this is the perfect place. It's ideal for PT sessions and comes highly recommended.

Ideal location with positive and cheerful vibe. The team is always helpful, professional and polite. The crowd during peak hours is still manageable. Particularly enjoyed my sessions with Li Ting! She is dedicated, patient and would take time to explain before trying out new moves. She would customise the training program to suit your physical fitness level.

Very clean and nice environment. I especially like it that it's not too crowded even during lunch period, therefore you can get the premium experience. The consultant Jenny is very friendly and quickly responds to enquiries. The entire sign up process was very smooth and efficient.

Signed up for a membership with Jen - she was thorough in explaining the details and when touring the gym. She is prepared to answer your questions, and even if she doesn't have ready answer on hand, she will find out more from her team and message you after. Lastly, everyone at DUO has been providing fantastic experience to the members, even from my observation. Always have a welcoming smile the moment you step in. :)

My friends have joined VA since early this year. They’ve been asking me to join but I’m reluctant to do so. I’m an introvert and fear new people encounters. I was gaining a bit of weight and was worried for the year end gatherings. I decided to check out the gym. I met Jen from Duo Galleria and was pleasantly surprised by her warm, easy and friendly approach from the time I walked in. Being an introvert, visiting the gym is daunting and overwhelming but Jen made sure I was at ease and gave me a great gym tour experience. She took the trouble to explain the club amenities, equipments and even game me an intro to the class I’m interested with. She’s very patient to my queries, very knowledgeable and not pushy. Fast forward to today, I’ve signed up to VA Duo 2 weeks ago and it’s easily one of the best decisions I have for 2023. I’m a gym noob but coming to Duo for my classes has been a breeze. Shout out to Jen and the friendly Duo staffs. The gym is super clean, spacious and amenities are superb. Plus the instructors are great!

It's smaller than the other Virgin active gyms, but it's cosy!

  • 5/5 Max E. 1 year ago on Google
One person would call this gym "cramped" & "small" but others would call it "cozy". It really depends on perspective and what you like your workout space to be. I have personally visited every VA branch in Singapore. Yes Duo branch in terms of area size, is the smallest but because of it, it definitely has more of a relaxed atmosphere. Most timings during the week for the free weight or cardio areas remain relatively open, and you can definitely get what you want out of the gym. As long as you maintain some degree of patience and remembering this is a shared space, everyone will be fine :). p.s. the reception desk and staff are all super friendly!

I can't say enough good things about Virgin Active Duo Galleria! As a member, I've had the opportunity to take advantage of their excellent personal training program, and it's been a game-changer for my fitness journey. The trainers are some of the best in the business, with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to share. My personal trainer is Ken and he is incredibly supportive and motivating, always pushing me to do my best and reach my goals . The facilities are outstanding as well, with top-of-the-line equipment, and a variety of classes to choose from. I highly recommend Virgin Active Duo Galleria to anyone looking for a gym that offers both excellent facilities and personal training.

I've been training at this gym for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The equipment is always well-maintained and the place is spotlessly clean. But what really sets this gym apart is the personal trainer I work with - "Ken" - he's an expert in rehab and has helped me overcome a range of issues with my knees, lower back and shoulder. I'd highly recommend this gym and my trainer to anyone looking for a supportive and knowledgeable environment to achieve their fitness goals.

Had a great time when I was a member; signed up for a physical trainer and worked with Ken. Ken is knowledgeable and his workout plan is very easy-to-follow. He constantly kept me motivated even when I had less time for the gym due to work. Ken is a very meticulous coach and his passion rubbed off on me. I noticed results very quickly and his goal-oriented nature helped my workouts be even more efficient. He is a trainer and a friend; thank you Ken and VA for being a part of my life.

The Virgin Active Duo Galleria Gym in Singapore is a top-notch fitness facility with an impressive range of equipment, classes, and amenities. What really sets it apart, though, is the quality of its staff. Personal trainer Ken is a standout, with extensive knowledge of fitness and nutrition and a friendly, supportive approach that makes working out a pleasure. Ken takes the time to understand your goals and creates customised workout plans that are challenging but achievable. Whether you're looking to lose weight, build muscle, or simply improve your overall fitness, Ken and the Virgin Active Duo Galleria Gym are a winning combination. Highly recommended!

I've been a member at Virgin for quite a while now and I really enjoy the Duo location. It has a good combination of free weights and machines. Recently I also started doing PT with Li Ting. She is very knowledgeable and it is fun doing work-out sessions with her! I can recommend the Virgin Duo location, it is not pretentious and quite relaxed.

This branch has the smallest space and least number & types of classes, making it the worst among the smaller branches. They even remove the yoga room to convert into running threadmill. Hence there is only one room left for pilates reformer and the other room for Bodypump. If you enjoy classes and want more varieties you have to travel to other branches. The branch manager should rethink how to make this branch unique on its own by introduce more interesting class. If can’t think out of box pls move to somewhere nearby with bigger space so you can introduce differentiated concept with other branches.

Aaron Lee showed us around.. Very friendly and informative. He was honest to say that this is the smallest Virgin in Singapore. Although, I would go out to say it is the smallest Virgin I have ever seen and we've visited Virgins in over 6 countries. The price at this gym is the same as all others, per Virgin Standards. I would suggest they create a special price for this gym; as it is extremely small and doesn't serve the functions I would need it to; such as a large enough free weights area to move around and not feel so cramped. Giving it a four because it was clean, but honestly, I would never sign up to this gym, just way tooooooo small. By the way, Virgin gym pricing is every two weeks 120SGD and it doesn’t matter if this small gym or another. Same price.

This is definitely my favorite gym for the following reasons: - One of the smaller gyms but it's cosy and has all the necessary equipments for you to do your workout. - The recep is always welcoming with a smile. A stark contrast to their biggest competitor. - The changing room and shower facilities are always clean and well maintained. - Last but not least, Ken is a great personal trainer. He's very knowledgeable in both fitness and nutrition, hence he's able to help you to achieve your goal. I've seen a massive improvement just after a couple of months of training. Highly recommended.
