Not
a
great
gym
for
the
premium
price
that
they
charge,
where
corporate
rates
are
about
the
same
as
regular
rates
at
other
gyms
that
are
far
better
equipped.
Recently
cancelled
my
membership
to
move
to
pure
fitness
after
1
year
with
Virgin
Active.
Key
issues
that
i
faced
during
my
membership
which
made
me
decide
to
switch:
1.
Poor
service
-
Shirts
provided
kinda
stink
quite
a
bit
which
is
disappointing.
Cups
are
frequently
not
available
at
the
pantry
for
most
outlets
as
they
are
not
washed
regularly.
Had
a
sales
representative
call
me
daily
to
make
payment
even
after
i
had
informed
them
repeatedly
that
i
could
only
do
so
in
a
few
days
time
due
to
issues
with
my
card.
2.
Rude
staff
-
Certain
personal
trainers
(not
all)
can
be
rude
sometimes
when
they
are
having
personal
training
sessions
with
their
clients.
For
example,
there
is
this
particular
trainer
that
likes
to
take
over
machines
for
his
clients
without
asking
even
though
i
was
just
resting
after
my
set.
When
i
inform
that
i
was
not
done
yet,
he
would
give
looks
which
are
very
unfriendly.
Additionally,
personal
trainers
can
be
found
hogging
key
equipment
during
peak
hours
on
weekdays
which
also
further
adds
to
the
frustrations.
For
example,
there
is
only
ONE
bench
press
station
and
maybe
during
2
weekdays
at
7-8pm,
i
will
find
a
personal
trainer
using
it
while
actual
paying
members
end
up
waiting
for
a
long
time.
3.
Poor
gym
design
-
This
is
my
biggest
issue
with
this
gym.
For
the
premium
price
(highest
in
Singapore)
that
i
was
paying,
i
expected
to
have
the
best
gym
experience
available.
However,
this
is
far
from
the
truth.
There
is
only
1
barbell
bench
press,
1
cable
cross
machine
and
1
deadlift
platform
at
the
gym,
which
is
grossly
insufficient
as
i
often
find
myself
queuing
up
to
30
mins
to
use
any
of
these
equipment.
There
is
also
this
group
of
friends
that
frequent
the
gym
on
weekdays,
who
would
rotate
and
hog
these
3
equipment
during
the
night,
making
it
impossible
to
use
them
sometimes.
Furthermore,
many
key
equipment
such
as
seated
row
machines
are
also
missing.
I
presume
that
this
is
due
to
space
constraints
as
a
result
of
the
rock
climbing
wall
and
pool
sections
which
severely
limit
the
space
for
essential
gym
equipment.
At
the
raffles
city
outlet,
bars
and
dumbells
are
also
not
well
maintained
as
most
of
them
are
extremely
rusty
and
gross.
For
10-20%
less
in
membership
fees
at
pure,
you
get
more
than
double
of
everything
just
across
the
road.
4.
Short
opening
hours
-
Shortest
opening
hours
among
all
the
premium
gyms
in
Singapore.
Staff
would
also
regularly
chase
u
out
of
the
gym
45
minutes
prior
to
closing,
which
can
be
frustrating
(such
as
blocking
off
shower
areas
early,
switching
off
lifts
forcing
you
to
take
stairs??,
etc).
In
conclusion,
i
really
do
not
mind
paying
premium
prices
for
gyms
if
they
can
offer
a
premium
experience.
However,
Virgin
Active
grossly
falls
way
below
expectations,
to
the
point
where
cheaper
gyms
just
round
the
corner
provide
many
times
better
service
at
cheaper
prices.
As
such,
i
cannot
recommend
this
gym
to
anybody
if
they
continue
to
stick
to
this
price
point.
Would
perhaps
only
recommend
to
consider
if
they
lower
prices
by
at
least
half.
