The slamming rule is atrocious. How to evolve if train light Everyday? And I don’t think the people below our level can hear it. Please stop abusing your authority. And stop stressing people!!

All is good in my experience in this gym however this one staff named by Alfie will always be harassing me and my group of friends either asking us if we have a towel even when we clearly have one with us. Today was a breaking point I wanted to quickly check on my friend as he was vomiting after a set and he couldn’t even ask nicely on wearing my mask. Before exiting the gym I heard him say to his colleague that β€œI want slap his face now sia” so unprofessional doesn’t deserve his work to be so biased and rude to members who pay hundreds of dollars just to workout.

I am writing this review to bring to your attention regarding the unethical practices and inconvenience experienced by members of Gymm Boxx, particularly in relation to their recent outlet closures and refund policies. On 24th February 2021, I enthusiastically signed up for a membership with Gymm Boxx at their Bedok Point outlet, which was conveniently located just 1 kilometer away from my residence. The proximity to my home played a significant role in my decision to join the gym, as it allowed me to easily incorporate fitness into my daily routine. However, my positive experience was short-lived when Gymm Boxx abruptly closed their Bedok Point outlet in May 2022. Members were instructed to visit their Century Square outlet in Tampines, which was approximately 5 kilometers away from my home. Despite the inconvenience, I, like many other members, decided to cooperate with the management's request, trusting that they would find a suitable replacement in the Bedok area. In January 2023, when my membership was due for renewal, I chose to extend it during a promotional period. To my dismay, in April 2023, Gymm Boxx announced the closure of their Century Square outlet. This time, members were presented with two options, both of which were far from satisfactory. The first option required us to travel over 15 kilometers to their Ci Yuan outlet in Hougang, which would take more than an hour using public transportation. Alternatively, members could opt for a refund of the unused portion of their membership, but were subjected to a so-called "processing fee" initially set at $120. The fee was later reduced to $80 following significant backlash. However, it remains unjustifiable to penalize members for requesting a refund due to circumstances beyond their control. Adding to the frustration, Gymm Boxx lacks a reachable phone number for customer inquiries, leaving email as the only means of communication. Regrettably, their response time to these emails is excessively long, sometimes taking up to three weeks. This lack of prompt and effective communication has only amplified the grievances of members who are seeking clarification and resolution. It is utterly unreasonable and impractical to expect members to travel great distances to access alternative outlets, especially when the closures are not the result of any fault on their part. The inconveniences and financial penalties imposed on members seeking refunds are highly unethical, indicative of a disregard for customer satisfaction and a breach of trust. Therefore, I urge all of you, to seriously reconsider signing up or renewing a gym membership with Gymm Boxx. Their practices demonstrate a lack of transparency, fairness, and empathy towards their valued members. We, as consumers/gym members, have the right to expect ethical treatment and reasonable solutions when faced with unforeseen circumstances such as outlet closures. By supporting establishments that prioritize customer well-being and satisfaction, we can collectively advocate for fair and accountable practices within the fitness industry. I hope that you will take my review into consideration and make an informed decision regarding your gym membership.

Rude staff shouting at people and chase everyone out of the gym at 415pm. Came out with a new rule for everyone to leave at 415pm due to social distancing but never do a good announcement and communication to the members, just rude and shout at everyone. No manner staff. Just told the ground '10mins more', what does it means to everyone? No public announcement outside or inside the gym and just expect public to know they are closing at 415pm. Please send this guy for better communication and announcement skill instead of rude to the public

Lousy staff that do not care about misuse of facilities provided. Rack for gym bag was occupied with canned drinks and bottles. Informed the staff at the counter yet no action was taken even after an hour. Photos uploaded were taken an hour apart. Worse than community gym with less than $5.00 entrance fee. Totally not worth the money paid for membership.

I always come around midnight. I love the outlet here because it's very spacious and they have more equipments. It's $8 and I think it's worth the price. I even once tried the Grenade protein bar that they have and it was good. I don't have any complaints at this outlet. Staffs were attentive and I see them always sanitising the equipments. So no icky stinky smell when you're exercising!

If I'm able to give negative star ratings, I would. To anyone intending to sign up with them at any of their outlets, you'd better think twice. I originally signed up for their membership at their Bedok Point outlet as I live in Bedok. Not long after, they closed their Bedok Outlet and gave us the assurance that they would look for another site in Bedok. In the meantime, we were told to go to their other outlet in the east at Century Square, Tampines. As Tampines was still reasonably near my home, I graciously went there while believing that they would open another new outlet in Bedok. Two years went by, and I decided to renew my membership with them at Century Square and yet there wasn't any news from them about the gym in Bedok. Instead, we were told that the Century Square outlet would be closed. To our shock and horror, we were told that we would need to go to their other outlets. For members that did not want this, they were allowed to have a refund of their gym membership. However, we were told that we would be charged a refund admin fee of $80!! (It was originally $120!!). This is totally unfair and unethical as the closure of the Tampines outlet has left many members like myself no other choice. The management of the gym has the audacity to tell members that they are still able go to all their other outlets. Imagine, they actually expect us to travel all the way from Bedok to Hougang for our workout!! Do they know how stupid they sound?? Just because they are compensating members with an extension of their gym membership means that we are able to travel over long distances to their other outlets. Imagine when they are down to only one outlet in Jurong or Keat Hong, do they still expect members from the east to travel all the way there for their workouts? I have written many emails to them but they take weeks to reply. They do not even want to list their office telephone number. I wonder what kind of circus they are running there?

Sad. Signed a Year membership and kept asking if they renew their lease with century square. End up 4 months into gym, the outlet is closing. Sad

Edit: Thank you Gymboxx for implementing an online booking system. Will increase my rating :) Helps those working from home a lot. Gymboxx needs to create an online booking system. Currently, gym goers have to physically go down just to scan a QR code in order to queue/book. The wait times are so long too. For working professionals, it is very inconvenient. It's already 2021, and COVID is going to stay and affect our lives for a while, please invest in an online portal or system. I won't be renewing my membership or recommending gymboxx to others until they do so.

Used to be a member for a couple years, decided to switch over to another gym. Gymboxx has too much unnecessary rules. You cant deadlift as youll be reprimanded by staff for β€œslamming weights”. You can’t make any noise during your set hence pushing to failure is quite a bad experience. No chalk as well even if you clean up after yourself. Equipment wise not too bad, however again you must make sure you dont lift with intensity as youll be reprimanded by staff for being too loud. Id recommend this gym for elderly or people who want to read books/study between sets who want to keep active. This gym is probably more conducive to study compared to your local library. If you’re an avid gym goer looking for results, id recommend any other gym in SG.

I really love the community here as whenever I come, I will be greeted by friendly stuff, which really helps me to kick start my workout with a positive energy. The gym stuff walks around and make sure that the gym is in good condition before we use the machine.

Started gym in this outlet about a year ago, and the staff has always been so kind to me. They make sure the place is clean before every session, and the small talks i have with some of the staff makes my experience in Gymboxx worthwhile! Amazing environment to be at πŸ‘

Very affordable gym club for students and yuppies. You wouldnt need free use of uniform/towel, would you? Pre-pandemic, the crowd was crazy. But now, pandemic era, crowd is very manageable; which I really like!

Good variety of machines and free weights. Not too crowded inside due to limited number of people allowed inside due to Covid restrictions. Go in before 2pm most days to void queuing outside.

Pretty well stocked for serious lifters, and I really appreciate the per entry option. Like some of the other reviews, I realized the music was repetitive. This is an easy fix, so hope that they can just extend their playlist. At the time I went, there was only one flat bench that was usable, which is quite a bummer since it is a popular equipment. I also found it slightly inconvenient that they have a shower but not a toilet.

This would always be my favourite private gym. The people that come here are all pretty fit, so it spurs you to work hard too, and it has lots of free racks. Basically, this gym caters to those who loves carrying weights. Hope I can go back there again once the covid situation gets better.

Went to CS branch today on 5/12/22 at 8pm for my session, but realised I had forgotten my card at the entrance. Approached the staff, Fadzhairi, and was β€œreprimanded” with an intimidating demeanour that it was my β€˜last chance’. There was a tad bit of unprofessionalism from Fadzhairi as his tone was stand-offish. Also, I was given only an hour to gym from 8pm to 9pm from another staff as he alleged that staffing hours end at 9pm (though the official site stated that staffing hours are between 8am and 11pm). This inconsistency only reflects poorly on Gymmboxx as a whole, which may in turn effect in lowered customer retention rate from loyal patrons. This experience had been unreasonable and unpleasant as I had a rushed session given that I β€œhad” to be tapped out before 9pm. My journey with GymmBoxx started in 2017 and I have been a loyal patron because the service had been amazing, especially Hassan from KH branch, however, this bitter experience from Fadzhairi could have been more professional as he represent the image of GymmBoxx. I understand that members have to produce their card to tap into the gym, but for one-off cases like this for loyal customers could have been handled better. Hope the management can review how cases like this can be better handled for such one-off cases, adding onto the inconsistency of staffing hours (9pm or 11pm). Thank you.
