A
very
expat
appealing
gym
at
all
the
expat
hotspots.
It's
okay
if
you
want
to
try
out
gymnastics
as
a
casual
introduction
or
for
recreational
goals.
It's
good
for
beginners
and
kinder
ages,
less
competitive
driven.
Like
booking
yourself
into
a
gym
or
yoga
class,
one
can
attend
RG
or
General
Gymnastics
(mostly
a
bit
of
Acrobatic)
at
any
outlets
with
any
coach
in
that
programme.
You
never
really
see
Victoria
Karpenko
at
any
of
the
gyms
-
she
only
comes
down
for
solo
private
classes
and
the
rare
occasion
to
observe
a
higher
competitive
class/individual.
If
she's
training
the
new
coaches,
you
don't
see
it
happening
at
any
of
the
studios.
Granted
she
may
be
busy
having
opened
a
new
Phuket
branch
(many
Russians
now
live
there
so
there
is
a
great
market
and
demand
for
business),
and
they
have
opened
a
state
of
the
art
large
gym
at
Orchard,
but
closed
their
Serangoon
and
soon
Bukit
Timah
outlets,
I
am
not
sure
which
part
is
a
very
Russian
way
of
gymnastics
training
except
the
brand
name
because
the
coaches
come
and
go
very
quickly.
Many
locals
and
the
sightly
more
experienced
Eastern
European
and
Russian
ones
have
left,
they
are
mostly
Malaysian
and
local
part
timers
now
who
have
some
competitive
representation.
KGA
is
not
well
represented
on
the
national
and
international
competition
fronts
if
you
want
your
child
to
be
groomed
for
such
exposure
and
greater
heights.
In
this
sport
they
have
a
very
short
span
of
time
to
hit
their
peak.
I
don't
find
this
gym
to
be
progressive
and
committed
to
the
students,
it's
certainly
more
business
driven.
KGA
is
really
a
good
looking
expat
gym,
good
for
those
who
are
temporarily
here
to
stay.
They
are
not
that
invested
nor
involved
in
the
local
competitive
scene
at
all
if
that's
the
trajectory
you
want
for
a
professional
sport
or
to
use
for
DSA.
The
real
gyms
of
high
competitive
levels
are
not
featured
in
trendy
online
magazines
like
SassyMama,
HoneyKids
and
other
blogs
-
Rhythm
&
Groove,
Dreams,
D'Gymnastique,
Releve,
Prime,
GymKraft,
Alpha,
North
Star,
more
SGA
linked.
I'd
say
pay
a
bit
more
to
go
to
Bianka
Panova
if
you
really
want
European
style
gymnastics,
but
be
warned
they
also
hire
general
teachers
and
locals
with
sports
backgrounds.
There
is
a
real
quality
crunch
in
this
field
of
sport!

My
opinion
is
that
your
gym
appeals
to
an
international
clientele
because
you
tend
not
to
send
your
students
to
local
competitions.
For
locals
who
want
intensive
CCA
and
DSA
training,
people
need
to
know
you
are
not
the
gym
for
it.
