After extensive research, I eventually choose The Pit for two workout sessions during my One week stay in SG , and I must say that it exceeded all of my expectations! This gym is a fantastic spot for foreigners, as they offer flexible sessions that cater to any fitness level. Their focus on free weight training and the variety of techniques all taught in detail. The staff and trainers are incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. I never felt like a stranger, even on my first visit. I highly recommend The Pit to anyone looking for a top-notch gym experience!

The PIT is the best gym I've been to so far. I've achieved results that I once thought was impossible because the program that they assign to you really works. The trainers and the fellow students are like my own family now! If you need a new year resolution to fulfill, The PIT is the right place to choose. Be it personal training or class, I'm loving both. I first started with joining the strength class and decided to take a personal training with Irving, and still regularly go for strength and metcon classes. Best decision I've ever done in improving my health!

Getting fit is the goal. Two years on down the road, I’ve gotten fitter and achieved what I thought was impossible. Growth is addictive. At PIT, we all grow together. That’s the fun part. The energy here is everything. Learning how to do it well and doing it right.

One of the best personal training I've experienced. The gym atmosphere is as if you are training at your friends place with little Pretense and concern for your fashion. Trainers are serious enough to ensure you are doing it right yet friendly and fun. Look up Niffal if he's available though all the trainers are great in their own way.

I have been fortunate to train at many great gyms over the years and I can confidently say that The PIT is a fantastic gym to pursue your goals. Ving & the PITmasters have created a fun, friendly and inclusive environment to train in regardless of your strength goals. The community is diverse, the banter is middling quality and the music is best when Herman picks the playlist. Jordion is my trainer and he is very talented. As a middle-aged lifter, I am constantly dealing with small niggles and Jordion is very quick to adjust my programme to strengthen weakpoints or avoid issues. He is equally funny and mean and knows when to push or when to remind me to 'leave some in the tank' so I stay injury free. I am stronger, feel great and look forward to every workout.

It's been a year since my 2017 resolution to embark on a strength training & Muay Thai program. Today I'm extremely satisfied in having chosen PIT Singapore over many others. I have never dreaded to go for any of my sessions with PIT as I'm always welcomed with warm smiles coupled with a strong sense of belonging. With the PIT team's professionalism and conscientiousness in coaching their clients in a safe, comfortable and progressive way, I have seen for myself tremendous results, week after week. The rate of transformation was quite astounding for me, personally. At this point being able to max bench press 80Kg, Squat 125Kg and Dead Lift 140Kg is an amazing feat for me at the age of 45. I would like to extend my very special thanks to Nifal, Juan and Ving for all their care & guidance, so that I continue with my pursuit to Live Strongly!.

The PIT is everything you want in a gym. It starts with Ving and his knowledgeable, professional staff, who are able to provide the correct fitness/training regimen for you and your goals. They don’t force you to try and look like a poster for the gym (unless that’s what you want). It is also a place where you are greeted at the door, and treated like one of the family. You can actually look forward to going, even if you don’t like “going to the gym”.

Great gym with amazing people! I have been training for more than a year at the PIT Singapore. It is indeed best gym I ever trained. 1. Professional and friendly PIT masters -Trainers would listen to your goals and what you are aiming for -All PIT masters are expertises in training, very professional, but also very friendly 2. Scientific training program -It is not standard training routine -Very scientific training developed and evolved over years and it helps you focus on training What else can I say. Thanks to PIT master Juan, and other fellow masters I was able to achieve results and witness progress. I gained strength, motivation and energy in life as well. It also helped me with my soccer game. Huge progress!! Now, I have setup even higher goals as my training in PIT won't stop.

What started out as a trip to the gym to shut a friend up, turned out to be must have in my weekly schedule, it makes you rethink the concept of 'going to the gym' and keeps you coming back. Irving and the guys at the PIT are highly professional, fun loving, caring bunch of tough guys!

I had been training for years at The Pit , it is for me probably the best gym I ever trained. The very high knowledge is it’s trainers , Irving and Nifal in particular who were me Personal Trainers , the facilities ,the training materials. It is far from a boutique gym , it is a real place to get fit , to train as an athlete of professional level. My tounger son who played Rugby for the Singapore National Team was training at The Pit . It is a very convivial place too , where you meet people from very different backgrounds with a commun goal for fitness. I highly recommend The Pit to anyone who is serious about fitness , sports and good health Frederique BESLAY

Working out at The Pit builds both physical as well as mental toughness. Working with the trainers here, my team and I are able to benefit from improved mental fortitude, physical wellness, as well as a stronger sense of community, all of which help forge a better team for better results.

I set off about a year ago with the goal to build muscle, get bigger and leaner with more strength. Having no idea where to begin, and after hours of research, I came upon Irving and his team at The PIT. I attended one of his introductory strength training classes and it’s been a remarkable journey ever since. I didn’t know how to hold the bar let alone squat and with Ving and his team’s personal attention, I’ve worked my way up to a better immune system, more muscle, better posture and a committed routine, where I can’t wait to see these guys on a daily basis. From community strength and HIIT classes to personal training, Ving can help you achieve many of your goals, and most importantly, achieve them in the correct form and manner. A must visit if you’re starting out , trying to take your training to the next level or are curious how to have proper form and increase weight!

A truly fantastic gym. Have seen large amounts of progress in my time of training there, which helped me with my tennis game very much. The trainers are great people and constantly help you with all your gym needs. Simple put I would recommend this gym for anyone, wether your trying to lose weight, become more fit, gain muscle, or become stronger or ANYTHING else, this is the gym for you.

The customer service and attitude is just ridiculous. I have serious doubts about genuineness of the reviews here. I have requested the price quotes and tried to book a class session slot over two days and the staff just ignored my requests, they simply read the messages and never reply. I literally have been trying to give them my money and they didn't even bother to reply. If that's the customer acquisition level I can't even imagine how bad is their service for existing customers

Your PT session is never stagnant at The PIT Singapore, no matter how often you train. Each session is tailored to your needs and goals, they are challenging enough to ensure you grow stronger and fitter, both physically and mentally – more importantly, it makes you realise you can do so much more than you thought you were capable of. To add to this, there's a tight sense of community at this gym, unlike any other. It feels like you're training with family... and the trainers, even the students, are rooting for you.

I have trained at a number of gyms over the past 25 years and have finally found a home at The Pit. As my body ages all of the injuries from my earlier years as an elite athlete have begun to come back to haunt me. Irving and his team have been able to devise a workout program that has allowed me to build up my strength while taking into account the physical limitations caused by numerous surgeries.

Having passed 50 and feeling increasingly feeble I decided to try weights. The Pit team listen to your aims and health issues and tailor a programme for you. Two years on I’m significantly stronger and several structural health issues have gone (knees and back). As an added bonus I am 15kg lighter.

I started coming to The Pit in 2015. Having been a member of a typical 'world class gym', where progress toward strength goals was frustrating, I can honestly say I have made more progress in the past 3 years than I have in the previous 10. The Pit is about a no-BS and no shortcuts approach, quite a lot of repetition and practice around the main compound lifts. It's not just a powerlifting gym with a variety of programmes that help to include metcon and hypertrophy into the mix. The Pitbulls are a great bunch of characters, with a great mix of skills, all very well trained and meticulous with great camaraderie. Overall the Pit is about challenging yourself, not competitive, and is focused on keeping you safe through good form. I avoided deadlifts and squats before and now they are a mainstay.

I learned so much from the trainers at PIT. I really like how they focus on getting my lifting techniques right before moving up the weights. Which I feel is really important cos having the right techniques means I lower the risk of getting injury when the weights get heavy. It really help my fight game cos Ving tailors my training needs for my sport - Muay Thai and I can feel the difference after I’d started training strength; growing stronger and whole lot more stable in my fights

It was a little intimidating walking into The PIT a few years ago. But from thereon, it was the best move ever as the coaches and community remain friends till today. Amazing facility. Absolutely lives up to the reputation, good mix of PT or classes, customized program that pushes you, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Thanks to the team (Ving/Nifal/Harold/Mas/Ming/Juan) in making this a great training ground. 👊

Not your typical gym, and not for the faint-hearted (okie maybe..). Be it fitness fanatics, new to fitness or you just want to improve yourself.. PIT is the place to go to. With dedicated and pack of passionate experts, no nonsense approach to get you through your goals. They may be serious (sometimes too serious) in your programme ensuring you get to all the right details, really they are wacky bunch otherwise. Remembered to have started out at zero (e.g. struggled to squat even with load-free), under meticulous coaching from Nifal, have been breaking PBs ever since. Became a better version of myself (every today I want to be better than yesterday, yes it is that addictive) and more disciplined. Every session is a learning phase (and never the same). Thank you Nifal! With right techniques and guidance, you know you are training at optimum. What most important is train safe, you are in good hands at PIT. Every one at PIT (coaches and fellow trainees) is like a family, no judgements no false front. And the inspiring energy is overwhelming. Be sure to check PIT out and you will know what I mean (as what many would say - experiencing is believing).

In April 2015, I had to have major surgery. The surgery had taken its toll on my body and it took me a good month before I could even walk up a flight of stairs. Once cleared by my doctors to exercise, I asked Irving if he could plan and supervise my rehab. Irving worked out a plan and together we embarked on a 5 mth journey to full recovery. It has been more than two years now since the surgery and I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been. I am grateful to Irving and his dedicated team of Nifal, Juan, Ming Siu, Herman and Harold for always encouraging and guiding me along my journey. The Pit is far more than a gym... It is a Family :-)

Having had 3 shoulder pops and tarsal tunnel syndrome, I ruptured one of two slipped discs and in May 2017 underwent a microdiskectomy. A mate convinced me that the P.I.T was the best place to do my rehab through strength and flexibility training - as long as I was committed to the work. He was right. I started in July (and could not stoop to lift a kettlebell) and Ving has me pain free now and lifting semi respectable numbers after a cautious and focused opening programme. Never been this strong or flexible before. I continue to learn a lot around the science of strength training and injury recovery from the guys also. Hoping to be back on my bike soon but I don’t think I’ll ever quit disciplined strength training. I wish I’d don’t it before all the endurance stuff I did. The people at the P.I.T are great too - it’s become a top reason for staying in Singapore. Can’t be a better place for intelligent strength training and advice.

I wanted to build more core strength to compliment the other sports which I was doing. And I could definitely see a vast improvement to my own strentgh conditioning and the benefits clearly extends over to my performance in other sports- like rock climbing, running and yoga. The personal trainers there are very professional and friendly and can tailor the exercises to your specific needs. Have already recommended a couple of friends to join.

I came to the pit at the recommendation of a team mate and have not looked back since. The strength and metcon classes have helped me become a better Muay Thai athlete. It is the place to be if you want to get stronger and fitter in a welcoming environment. Nothing like quality training, with good company and dedicated coaches.

Since I've started training at The PIT in 2013, I've grown so much stronger and more confident. I learnt how to listen to my body and train more efficiently. For me, due to a health issue, my training was at times a bit tricky but Nifal, Irving and the wonderful team had patience. They guided me back to being healthy and strong, which is the most important goal for me.

Having trained at many gyms over the last 20 years, in Europe and Asia, I can honestly say that the pit is by far the most technical and professional strength gym I have visited. The attention to technique, progress and an individual's specific needs are second to none. It's also a very friendly and good humored spot with no room for egos. First class. #teamlunch

Training at the Pit with Ming Siu and Juan must be my favourite thing to look forward to every week. These 2 Pit Masters are switched on and methodical in their training strategies. Each time I go for Muay Thai lessons with Juan, I learn something new, Ming Siu works on my strength so that one day... maybe one day when I hit Juan , he will hurt! Hahahh ( one can hope!).

In 2016 I was just recovering from a AC joint inflammation on my shoulder which thankfully got fixed by my physiotherapist. However my physio said I needed to lay off the bench press pretty much for life to avoid recurrence which I dutifully followed. Then my right knee started giving me serious pain when I started running again that year. Thankfully though that led me to a chiropractor who then referred me to the PIT for strength training in late 2016. I read Ving’s story on his website where he shares his experience about getting a full on back surgery and then setting a new world record for the bench press in that same year, which to me is worthy of a Hollywood movie. Luckily for me he had a slot to train me and fast forward I ran two half marathons and a few trail runs injury free in 2017 following a very systematic strength programme. Also the other trainers and students there are full of encouragement and laughter which makes it a nice place to be! Oh and did I mention I can now bench press without any shoulder pain... fast forward now to 2021, marathon done, triathlon done and strength training continues to be the core of it all

The Pit is a great place to train that has helped me improve my mobility in lifting which has made me feel lighter on my feet an less rigid compared to when I started. I also wanna thank Juan who trained me since I joined last year and lost 23kg but am able to Squat and deadlift more. Everyone is welcoming and will always push you to work harder.

I started training at The Pit in 2014, 10 weeks post partum. My goal was to regain some fitness and be physically strong enough to look after my newborn. I saw tremendous results after just a few sessions. Stuck with them ever since. Irving is a great trainer - he tailors my workout according to my needs and fitness goals. He is encouraging, puts up with my incessant whining and pushes me to test my limits. I love the environment at The Pit too; everyone is friendly and warm. All the other trainers are experts in their respective fields, and are passionate in what they do. The Pit is truly a fantastic place to train!

The PIT is the perfect place for PT training, I have been there for 3 years now and made huge progress. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, even after a surgery I was back in business in no time with an adapted program. It feels more like a family and you always look inside and say hi when you walk past Devonshire Road... and cherry on the cake, Ving is learning French so I can teach him even more jokes.
