Vintage bridge but look very strong though. Was there admired the bridge, Fullerton Hotel as well as Asian Civilization Museum which is across the bridge only. While bridge almost construct with steel and you can imagine how difficult they built it in the past. Certainly worth to go and take some nice photographs.

A wonderful sight at night while exploring the Fullerton Bay Area at night. Loved the way the night lights reflected upon this bridge. It was really nice to simply enjoy this gorgeous view. Loved exploring this area at night on foot. Simple pleasures of life.

The holy trinity of Lion City's river bridges. Anderson, Elgin and Cavenagh. This little wobbly bridge and the other two are all Singapore's national monuments because of their age, heritage value and design. It was built in Glasgow Scotland and then shipped over to be put together in 1869. Initially it was named Edinburgh Bridge to please Duke of Edinburgh who was in town on official visit that time but then changed to honour the last governor by British East India Company Major General Cavanagh. It has definitely stood the test of time because its been ferrying fat tourists across the river and still in pretty good shape.

Cavenagh Bridge is a historic suspension bridge located in Singapore's Civic District. While smaller than its neighboring Anderson Bridge, it is no less impressive in terms of its historical significance and beauty. Constructed in 1869, the bridge features a simple design with wire cables and steel structures. During our visit to Singapore in April, my wife, son, and I had the opportunity to see Cavenagh Bridge up close and were impressed by its unique design and the views it offered of the city. Whether crossing the bridge by foot or simply admiring it from afar, it is definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in Singapore's rich history and architecture. Highly recommended!

Was walking back to office and used this bridge. It has always been there but never stop and look at it. Very old bridge that oozed history. Cannot imagine how long this bridge has been here and how many events had it seen. Amazing to even think about it!

Victorian suspension bridge in a beautiful city on the other side of the planet. Part of imperial Britain's complex relationship with the world but still a lovely bit of over-engineering.

Cavenagh Bridge is the only suspension bridge and one of the oldest bridges in Singapore, spanning the lower reaches of the Singapore River in the Downtown Core. Opened in 1869[1] to commemorate Singapore's new Crown colony of the Straits Settlements status in 1867, it is the oldest bridge in Singapore that exists in its original form.

Cavenagh Bridge is a place where many people love to take photos here for memories. It connects Asian Civilisation Museum to The Fullerton Hotel and many banks in Raffles Place. It's also a popular place where many love to do shooting for television drama in Singapore. #ILoveCavenaghBridge

Very airy and clean. The Singapore river is visible and also the pre-war shop houses blending in with the modern skyscrapers in Singapore CBD area. Near by are very beautiful and historic buildings like the Victoria concert hall. Asian civilisation museum. And Singapore's balls of steel. (I dunno wat is called. Lol.) Very nice Instagramable location. Take lots of pictures and videos. Of yeah, you get a nice view of the Fullerton Hotel and bronze statue around the areas. Don't forget to get yourselves and family vintage style Ice cream from the mobile ice cream bike seller at this location.

Cavenagh Bridge exudes timeless charm, gracefully connecting modern Singapore with its colonial past. The iconic structure offers a picturesque stroll over the Singapore River, providing breathtaking views of the city's skyline. Its historic significance and architectural elegance make it a must-visit, seamlessly blending tradition and urban allure.

One of the oldest bridges over the Singapore River, located behind the Fullerton Hotel and leading towards Victoria Concert Hall. This bridge is fully pedestrianised. Do note the 19th century signs at both ends of the bridge banning cattle and horses on the bridge. So please don't bring your horse onto the Cavenagh Bridge, you might get fined! :) Cavenagh Bridge is a historic suspension bridge located in Singapore's Civic District. A very pretty colonial styled bridge that gives you a stunning view of the waterway as you cross it. The bridge is situated near the Fullerton Hotel and has lovely surroundings in either side of the canal. The bridge lights up at night time and looks quite spectacular. Great spot for a photo opportunity here.

A little pitstop away from the buzz of the CBD near by. The rustling leaves from the age-old tree nearby and the afternoon breeze are calming. Good hideout ?

Nice & sturdy colonial bridge with a beautiful view of Boat Quay (which was previously warehouses) and The Fullerton Hotel (previously Central Post Office). Nearby there are interesting bronze sculptures such as "Boys jumping into the river" & attractions such as Sir Stamford Raffles statue too.

Walk across this bridge in March before the Singapore lockdown. The Cavenagh Bridge is one of three bridges in the Boat Quay. A small suspension bridge and the only bridge in Singapore to survive in its original form. It provides nice views of Boat Quay to the west and east. Although the latter view is slightly obscured by Anderson Bridge.

(Translated by Google) Unique! A beautiful bridge! Completed in 1869, it is the only cast iron cable-stayed bridge in Singapore. It is named after Sir William O. Cavenagh, the last governor of the Straits Settlements. The P&W MacLellan plaque in Glasgow I photographed from 1869 indicates that the bridge was brought in parts from England to Singapore and then assembled in its current location, which dragged on until 1869. The neighboring Anderson Bridge, almost as beautiful, was opened in 1910 to relieve the strain on the Cavenagh Bridge, which was no longer able to cope with the increasing traffic. Today the Cavenagh Bridge is only approved for pedestrians and light vehicles. At night, like almost everything in Singapore that is somehow pretty to look at, it is beautifully lit. It is one of the only 3 Singapore River Bridges that are considered a National Monument. (Original) Einmalig!
