I'm
in
my
late
30s.
Stay
at
home
mom
to
2
energetic
young
kids.
Never
athletic
or
fit.
Was
absolutely
clueless
about
the
gym.
In
fact
I
had
found
gyms
intimidating.
I
joined
Genesis
Gym
Katong
about
2
months
ago.
Best
decision
I
made
this
year.
Love
it
for
a
few
reasons:
1)
Professional
coaches
who
respond
promptly
to
feedback.
Ashraf
designed
my
program.
From
the
point
of
consultation
till
today,
he
has
stayed
in
tune
with
my
physical
condition,
tweaking
the
program
with
the
feedback
I
give.
I
suffer
from
years
of
plantar
faciistis
and
a
rather
wonky
left
knee.
My
customised
gym
programme
ensured
that
I
don't
aggrevate
my
problems
but
instead
address
the
issues
by
building
on
the
right
muscles.
Beyond
just
designing
a
gym
program,
Ashraf
also
addressed
other
lifestyle
issues
that
I
had.
Whether
it
was
drinking
way
too
much
coffee
or
loving
my
food
too
much
to
attempt
to
diet,
he
has
a
way
of
giving
me
advice
and
coming
up
with
ways
of
getting
me
to
make
actual
changes.
The
other
coaches
in
the
Katong
gym
are
all
amazing
too.
Each
one
of
them
have
patiently
worked
with
me
to
help
me
execute
my
exercises
correctly,
effectively
and
safely.
The
coaches
are
professional
and
knowledgeable
so
I
feel
confident
listening
and
following
their
advice.
2)
Coaches
who
teach
you
to
be
independent.
The
coaches
take
the
time
to
explain
what
an
exercise
is
supposed
to
achieve.
How
the
muscles
work.
Why
I
might
have
felt
it
differently
(because
everyone's
bodies
are
different).
How
to
tweak
things
to
make
it
work
better.
The
coaches
are
so
friendly,
patient
and
non-judgemental.
They
make
me
feel
comfortable
about
being
clueless.
So
I'm
not
shy
to
ask
questions.
Even
if
I
sometimes
attempt
to
hide
my
confusion,
they
can
spot
my
confused
look
from
across
the
gym,
come
over
and
ask
"Do
you
need
help?"
In
the
last
2
short
months,
I'm
amazed
at
how
much
I've
learned.
Whether
it's
discovering
muscles
I
never
knew
I
had
or
learning
how
to
visualise
using
one
muscle
in
order
to
activate
another
muscle.
My
body
awareness
have
gone
from
"head
and
shoulders,
knees
and
toes"
to
"focus
on
your
lats
to
activate
your
chest
muscles".
This
might
sound
silly
to
those
who
know
their
bodies
well,
but
for
me,
I'm
thrilled
by
the
new
knowledge.
3)
Coaches
who
are
sincere.
I
don't
feel
like
just
another
client
walking
through
their
door.
They
listen
to
your
problems
and
goals.
Their
sincerity
and
determination
in
ensuring
that
I
improve,
makes
me
want
to
take
my
exercise/diet
more
seriously
too.
4)
Flexibility
of
timing
When
I
previously
engaged
a
one
to
one
PT,
I
ran
into
issues
of
scheduling.
Sometimes,
it
was
hard
to
find
a
slot
where
both
our
schedules
match.
With
each
delay,
I
got
less
and
less
motivated.
I
soon
gave
up
altogether.
With
Genesis,
I
haven't
encountered
this
issue.
Because
the
coaches
train
you
as
a
team,
I
can
go
to
the
gym
whenever
it
is
open.
And
any
of
the
coaches
present
there
can
coach
me.
The
gym
app
is
great
at
ensuring
all
the
coaches
know
my
program
and
progress.
This
flexibility
of
timing
is
a
huge
factor
at
helping
me
stay
motivated.
Not
being
able
to
get
a
slot
with
the
PT
can
no
longer
be
used
as
an
excuse
to
skip
gym.
After
2
months
of
regular,
uninterrupted
training
with
Genesis,
I've
come
to
a
point
where
I'm
no
longer
dreading
my
sessions.
But
I'm
looking
forward
to
it.
5)
Friendly
crowd
at
the
gym
Clients
at
this
gym
come
from
all
walks
of
life.
From
athletes
to
gym
noobs
like
me.
People
are
generally
friendly
so
I
don't
feel
intimidated.
All
in
all,
I've
had
a
wonderful
experience
at
Genesis
Katong
so
far.
In
just
2
months,
I
feel
fitter
and
stronger.
In
fact,
I'm
feeling
happier
too.
Finally
taking
care
of
myself
and
not
only
my
kids!
🤣Big
thanks
to
the
Genesis
Katong
coaches.
I
can't
recommend
it
more.
