I
was
very
excited
when
I
first
heard
Kurasu
was
opening
a
coffee
stand
in
Singapore,
and
swung
by
Odeon
once
they
did.
Their
Kyoto
and
Bangkok
branches
were
beautiful
spaces
and
I
was
excited
about
how
their
store
at
waterloo
would
be.
Was
not
disappointed
as
it
really
catches
all
the
minimalist
vibes
from
the
functional,
built
in
fabric
sofas,
to
brewing
at
the
island
counter.
The
view
should
improve
greatly
after
construction
is
done.
But
for
now
the
white
walls
aren’t
too
offensive.
Service
could
be
slightly
improved
in
terms
of
attentiveness.
Which
isnt
too
important
(you’re
here
for
the
coffee
and
vibes!)
Though,
I
did
not
vibe
with
the
barista
who
wryly
(and
slightly
condescendingly)
asked
me
“this
is
a
dark
roast,
is
that
ok?”
when
I
ordered
the
house
brand
dark,
specifically
saying
the
word
dark.
Perhaps
it
was
profiling
because
I
initially
wanted
to
try
their
batch
brew
and
perhaps
that
somehow
labelled
me
as
a
lesser
drinker?
(Batch
brew
wasnt
available
because...come
to
think
of
it
he
didn’t
say
clearly
but
ok).
It
should
be
fine
if
you’re
a
coffee
connoisseur,
just
show
that
off
and
you’ll
probably
have
a
good
detailed
conversation.
If
you’re
not
and
jjst
want
some
good
coffee
in
nice
vines,
well
you’ll
get
that,
buy
just
let
any
condescension
flow
past
you,
its
mostly
worth
it.
Prices
are
as
expected.
Still
5
stars
because
Kurasu
roasts
excellent
coffee.
They
also
curate
beautiful
coffee
wares
that
you
could
buy
online.
If
you’re
the
sort
that
needs
to
touch
and
see
before
buying,
they’re
all
on
display
here
