Another place with high expectations. It was crowded outside and we were not sure what’s the situation like. Do we queue outside or inside? Is there any staff coming out to let us know the procedure? Nope, so we went in and was asked to wait (anywhere you like) for our turn for table. Waited about 15min before we got our table. Coffee was good. But not really worth the wait.

This place is situated near a HDB flat and is quite convenient. This place is cozy and the taste of the coffee is just right and is very tasty and delicious😋❤️👉🍵. The coffee aroma could be smell from a distant. You can buy their coffee packs and brew your own coffee at home. It is definitely a unique experience within a nice and quiet residential area to have a excellent morning coffee.

Quaint cafe tucked under HDB block. Seating is limited so expect to wait for some time to get seats on weekends. Store sells beans that are freshly roasted from the unit next door so those who are inclined to brew their own coffee can consider picking some up. As for the coffee itself in the cafe; they are well-brewed without a burnt taste. Staff are also able to advice on the origin of the beans used. Some pastries are also available for pairing with the coffee - they are decent in quality but not extraordinary.

Friendly and polite service. Cappuccino was OK but not spectacular. Ambience was normal with some seats indoors and outdoors. Somehow, this place is always packed, as it amazingly manages to attract constant streams of customers from all over the island to this rather boring neighbourhood.

Finally made it to this coffee shop after waiting for a visit. The house blend black was great. The barista was also patient and helpful in answering my brewing issues with Aeropress. The prices of the brew are reasonably affordable. Will revisit next chance I get.

Coffee: Their espresso macchiato is the best I've had in Singapore Ambience: Perfect for a quick coffee time. Good music and chic atmosphere Staff: Even after telling twice that I'd like a ceramic cup, the staff insisted on serving me coffee in a disposable cup. It made me feel unwelcomed and I wouldn't go back for solely this reason. I still don't know what was their reason to behave in such a way but I won't make any assumptions. However, if you're in the area, I do recommend trying this out.

Finally managed to come here after a recommendation by a colleague. Nice interior. Quite spacious but with a good, vibrant vibe. My double espresso was smooth while still having good flavor. Two options for the beans. I tried the more nutty blend. The rose cheesecake was a bit to dense for my liking but still ok. Will definitely come again.

Excellent coffee! Had the opportunity to speak to Wax who educated us about coffee brewing. Pleasant environment for a good cuppa and catch up. Will be back and will try their other outlets too! 👍

Nice cafe with chill vibes serving dependably good coffee at very reasonable prices. Set in a quaint neighbourhood, best to come during weekdays where there isn’t much of a crowd. Cakes and pastries are good too. Good and prompt service.

Located at a HDB @ Stirling. A nice quaint little place with a modern vibe. It’s comfortable and a great place to relax. The coffee is one of the better ones. I like the nutty taste and it’s not overly bitter yet was strong enough to perk me up. Cakes looks exquisite as well and those I didn’t have a taste. My friend enjoyed it immensely. Swing by to try yourself.

We had lunch at Mei Ling food centre so decided to walk over to try the coffee here. It's been on my list for some time. We called first to confirm they had decaf which they do as a pourover. They confirmed they have decaf all the time. Anyway we got the Popayan decaf as a pourover for my wife and I tried the Gayo Senja from Indonesia as a white for me. The Gayo is a limited edition and not available after this batch. See the pics for their tasting notes. The Gayo is nice but tastes a bit simple to me. Over time the flavours change and I get the passion fruit but never got the winey or raspberry. Actually I think it was a bit milky overall. Still, nice to drink. The decaf is a very light brew with more delicate tastes. Not very much mouth feel or length. But we finished it so not too bad. Lots of other beans and varieties mostly as pourovers (see pics). Is we're in the area, we'll likely come back to try other beans.

Great place for coffee! Especially when around the vicinity, you need that perk me up coffee to go along. Limited places to seat due to current pandemic. The shop observes very good social distancing. Hence, going to place early and takeaway is recommended. Tried the espresso macchiato, it’s very fruity and have a strong flavour profile. Cafe latte is well balance, not too much milk which should be that way. Like it very much.

One of my favourite coffee and almost can be my top favourite for now. Love the smoothness and the aroma of their coffee. Unfortunately they have limited space to cater for more customer, it’s all your luck if you are able to get a seat there to enjoy your coffee. Cappuccino is priced at $4.50 with no GST and SVC. You might not be able to get the same elsewhere! Die die must try!

Back again after 4 years and it is still one of the best place for a great cup of good quality coffee. One of the best speciality cafe you can find in Singapore in one of the oldest neighbourhood. No other place in Singapore can offer you so much variety of beans that they source themselves. The beans matters alot.

Really disappointing service. Was told Ill get a seat once its available... took so long I finished my drink outside and entered to return the cup only to see customers who came after me were comfortably seated within. The service staff totally ignored that I was still waiting outside.

Best coffee I’ve had in a while. Not for the regular consumer, if you’re a connoisseur this is the bomb! Really awesome and smooth flavour. Can’t be beat. Didn’t try the tarts or kombucha so I can’t comment on those.

Nice little coffee shop. Not sure if it worth the 40 minutes trip to get there. I had an iced long black. Really nice aroma, but a little on the weak and bland side. Cappuccino might be a better and fairer drink to judge their coffee. Very limited sitting. Brought a cold brew and a bar of artisanal chocolate bar and it cost $20.

This is a small neighbourhood coffee shop with only a few tables. So it’s not easy to get seats, so we only went for takeaway coffee. Got the flat white with oat milk; the oat milk seem to enhance the flavour of the coffee which was very good. The logo of this coffee shop is also interesting, seems to suggest a local Chinese coffee shop but actually sells western coffee. Apparently was told they roast their own brand coffee beans as well but didn’t have time to check this part out this time.

Came here for a piccolo and a pour over. Loved the piccolo but the pour over was a little flat - I think it was the Kenyan. Service was very good. The place is a little small so it got crowded quickly and will be difficult for groups to find a table. The trip to the bathroom is a bit of an odyssey through the storeroom 😂 but it's fine.

Nested in the Stirling / Queensway HDB area, this coffee place serves good coffee. Tried their Columbia decaf in a pourover, the herbal nose turned berry once cooled and the coffee sweetness came through with a milk cocoa ending. Nice! My hubby had their Indonesian Gayo Senja, a limited edition bean in flat white. I found the milk overwhelmed it a bit and could only taste the passion fruit .. maybe it’s just me 😬.. Went back again for pour over and a slice of cake. Had the Seashore cake from Keong Saik which is sea salt butterfly pea mousse / ganache on top of a tea infused cake and biscuit base. Nice!

Great coffee taste. When I ordered several coffee/chocolate drinks, for me and my older kid and the other one for my two younger kids. I was told no need to spend extra money and they gave me 2 babycinnos free of charge. What a rare kindness you wont see in typical chain restaurants.

Took 10 days to deliver coffee beans during this circuit breaker period. Something to note if you need coffee urgently. Update: I requested the beans to be pre grinded for filter coffee but i find them a little too coarse. To be fair V60s usually require a finer grind, but some of these chunks are pretty large. Their grind also produced quite a bit of "fines", which you can see from the sludge leftover on the filter paper.

Consistently good execution from this well-established roaster. They now offer choice of two blends for espresso-based drinks. This latest cup, made with their Missing Ruby blend of Ethiopia Haru Suke and Brazil Fazenda da Lagoa, had an initially fruity but mainly chocolaty/nutty flavour. Uses Meiji milk.

Very good coffee. Always roasted freshly each week. Gachala is my go to for espresso / milk based drinks. I’d like to see them available on grab delivery for all hours that the store is open and speed at which they make coffee is a bit slow but worth the wait. Edit: downgraded to 3 stars - 5 stars for coffee but a generous 3 for how they manage grab. Frequently they don’t update stock availability and I need to call them up before I can order coffee beans or are ‘closed’ on grab even though store is open. All I am looking for delivery of coffee beans which has turned into quite an infuriating hit and miss activity. I am quite perplexed as to why they would deliberately provide such an inconsistent service.

Chanced upon this coffee place after lunch at Redhill Food Centre. If you prefer your cafe latte and mocha with a strong milky finish, you will appreciate that they managed to create a good balance. For those who might be curious, both drinks are not sweetened. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a coffee fix, I recommend giving them a shot.

Nestled into the side of an HDB block, this cute little coffeeshop strikes an interesting balance between a modern café and traditional warehouse aesthetic. Their cappuccino was delicious (and their latte art was finely done), but their iced mocha was somewhat underwhelming (not enough chocolate, tasted like an iced latte). Overall, though, a nice place to stop for a cup of joe!

The cakes were a little on the expensive side and the chocolate cake was only so-so. Mostly coffee on their menu, it was a small but cozy establishment for chilling. The mocha and cafe latte weren't too sweet and thus paired well with the chocolate cake. The service staffs were pleasant and polite.

Not a good start to the First visit during Christmas Day. Wanted to smell the coffee beans of their blends by pressing the bag and the owner gave a BLACK face and scolded that we shouldn't do that. It's understanding that they do not like us pressing the bag to smell the $30 coffee beans bag. Maybe they can do it in a nicer and subtle way? Better coffee places to explore than here. Highly recommend the owner to improve his bad attitude. Service: 1/10

Cosy little place for good coffee that's pretty well hidden away unless you know exactly where to look; dropped by around 3ish on a weekday afternoon and the place was still packed. Given that they have been in business for so long and should be a professional in the trade to recommend coffee beans to customers who have specific requirements, I'm thoroughly disappointed. Was served by this young bloke(see picture) whom I asked whether their signature espresso blend GACHALA is acidic or not and gotten a reply it's not. Brought a bag of 250grams at $14plus, had such high hopes for specialty beans. OMG, it turns out that their blend of coffee beans are acidic and the sourness lingers in the palette for a long time. How can your roast be not acidic when the colour is light, look a picture with (A) Tiong How (B) another specialty coffee roaster. My advice, selling coffee is not just roasting, putting in a paper cup and fancy packaging and lacking knowledge of beans and roasting techniques.

Be here for the coffee! They are specialists, being in the coffee business for so long. Located in a leafy old neighbourhood, and sitting capacity is rather small. So come during off peak hours; take a seat and enjoy the ambience. Then perhaps after that, you can take a stroll to the nearby IKEA or visit the PCN green lane which still bear vestiges of the old railway link to Malaysia

Piccolo was extremely smooth and the default comes with double shot which is nice. Place is a tad small so I reckon it might be easier if you take away to save time on queuing. A small critic - I wasn't sure if the coffee was done deliberately on lukewarm water but I found mine to be too cold for my liking.

Wide selection of coffee available too, from normal latte, flat white, espresso to their special cold brew and filter coffee. And never go wrong pairing a cake with their coffee to wash away your blues of the day.

Nice hidden cafe which is also a bean seller. In my humble opinion, one of the best around. Limited tables. Consider take away.

My colleague found this hidden coffee joint. Its located in one of the HDB blocks near Stirling road. Went today around late lunch time and cafe was busy. We managed to get a table and service was good. Best was coffee, definitely one of the best capuccino's i had in Singapore. Definitely recommend and will be back. Updated - second visit on 10th December. Consistent flavour and beautiful experience

So far the most delicious coffee in Singapore for me. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Limited seating with a 45-minute limit (understandable in such times) and they take reservations. I was also very impressed by how meticulously they disinfected the tables AND chairs between patrons!

Great coffee! Also offers whole bean coffee bags - a bit pricey but worth it.

Lovely cuppa Jo, nice and friendly people. The aroma within is that of a place that roasts and has been for a while. You can tell that they don't just do coffee, they have a passion for it. Savour the delicate flavours of the coffee and take in the nostalgia, the history.

Read about this place years ago in the papers and have been thinking about coming here on and off. Its Good Friday and we have the day off so decided to finally make the trip, and we were not disappointed. We tried the cappuccino and the Pollen White cold brew and both were delicious. We were fortunately to arrive at about 3pm when the shop was not too crowded and got seats immediately. The shop sells adorable cups handmade by Stella Tan (TK Pottery Jungle) and a variety of beans which they can grind on the spot for you if you don't have your own grinder.

Summary: only 5 tables, but great coffee Small cafe in a HDB estate that is far from any MRT, but worth the trouble to get to. Due to the limited tables and constant stream of patron, you may feel guilty for staying too long (and they have a 45min seating policy).

  • 5/5 April W. 2 years ago on Google
We regularly get our beans here - love the consistency & quality. It’s always busy - so it’s rare to get a seat to enjoy their barista’s creations. But their service is pleasant and thoughtful - including informing us when a table is available. We managed to enjoy a latte & pour over! Thanks guys!

Tucked hidden inside an HDB, this place might have some of the best espresso I’ve had in Singapore - their macchiato was ok but espresso incredible. 4.5 stars because they only accepted cash or Grabpay

Very good coffee and pleasant staff. Affordable and a place where you can get into a discussion about the coffee you are drinking and the different roasts they have on offer.

Don’t expect coffee done by very experience hand, poor service , I personally find the vivo NTUC branch much better.

Excellent coffee under the HDB block, not so convenient to go but if you are around Alexander IKEA, you should definitely visit it! They use their own coffee bean from its own factory, good flavour. Pity they don’t sell black cold brew in bottle, hope they can consider.

A true gem for coffee aficionados! Unassuming little coffeeshop with rich history, passionate staff, and excellent coffee. We need more family run businesses like this in SG!

Great little spot tucked away in an HDB. The coffee was a great, had a pour over which was lovely, my friend had a great cappuccino. Nice ambiance, helpful staff. And a slice of history. Go check it out!

We stopped by here after doing some walking along the green corridor. Nice little spot to grab a coffee on a hot day. The staff were friendly and we managed to grab a table inside. It’s not a large place but the coffee is good. It is perhaps a tad pricey for what it is and they only take cash or Grab Pay. If you’re going to take a restrictive non-cash payment option, at least pick NETS. That minor gripe aside, the shop has an interesting back story and I’d be curious to try some of their beans sometime.

Nice coffee, great service and cozy place. We ordered espresso, flat white and cappuccino. The espresso tasted good with a well-balanced flavor notes and the cappuccino was served with a perfectly steamed milk in a relatively lower temperature which brought out the sweetness of the milk. The only drawback is the cups they were using didn't retain the heat, so the coffee can easily get cold.

Always searching for a nice cuppa, first time here and best so far in Singapore after tried quite a few popular ones. Hidden in HDB area and unassuming but serving quality pour over, will try espresso style next time.

Definitely one of the best coffee in Singapore, reasonably priced. They also sell damn good beans here. Since they renovated, they have even more seats. If you're looking for dessert, their hojicha swiss roll is a must try!

Good coffee, service and ambience. Their white coffee is one of the most well balanced and smooth drinking coffees in Singapore

I tried Hara Suke India and Monsoon Malabar Ethiopis. I was treated to taste Sumatra Mandheling Indonesia. Monsion Malabar's my favourite out of the 3. Barista Alvin balanced its acidity, sweetness and bitterness so well that I appreciated its harmonious taste. Sumatra Mandeling had the best aroma. Though i prefer earthy than acidic taste, the Hara Suke had a well-balanced taste; it tasted better than any acidic coffee i had tasted at Hoshino, Watanabe and Coffee Academy. Again, coffee is a personal thing. So long as you like it, it is a good coffee!

Beyond my expectations. It is a quiet place, an unnoticed neighbourhood. Just follow the delightful smell you can find it with Google map.

Come here a few times. Surprised I havent left a review. The pour overs here are absolutely delightful. Their baristas do a fantastic job on top of the brilliant job done by the roasters. I ve had their espresso shots on jet candy numerous times, and it is right and flavour full too.
