First time here for dinner, environment is nice, but is really noisy especially when the diner comes in big group during peak hours. Ordered the beef burger, cod & leek and a waffle with ice cream. Food wise is good, will visit again in future during off peak hours to avoid the loud noise to try other stuff.

There is truly something special about this brunch place. Not sure if it's the decadent food, the superb service or the fantastic atmosphere and decor. I first ordered their homemade cold mocha brew, and it was very rich in flavor and literally the best way to start your day. For the mains, we ordered fried chicken topped on a crispy spring onion pancake and a giant croissant filled with creamy scrambled eggs and sizzling bacon. I loved both of them, not sure which one more. The pancakes with chicken was very hearty and the egg and bacon croissant is a classic. We ordered their walnut cheesecake for dessert to split and it was moist, but firm at the same time with a tasty frosting. The food prices may seem expensive, but for the great quality ingredients and inspired plates you are getting, it's totally worth it. The restaurant is a bit small and can be very busy, so make sure to reserve before hand. The cooks are very talented, apparently they won quite a few competitions in the past.

Decided to try out the dark chocolate sundae and buttermilk waffle. The towering dark chocolate sundae was an eye catcher. Flavour was rich and slightly bitter, texture likened to a soft-serve. The drizzle of passion fruit and raspberry coulis added a nice and refreshing twist to the richness. The buttermilk waffle, crispy on the outside and light in the middle. The dough perfectly done and easy to eat without feeling heavy after dessert. Ambience is cozy and staff super attentive and helpful. Dessert Priced at $12/-, definitely would return again and recommend to anyone looking for a place to chillax.

Hearty brunch- the Populous Scramble had a generous serving of egg and bacon. For a lighter meal, the halibut fish with soba has a unique tangy taste unlike the usual soba. I liked it personally. Visited during the off peak hour in the late afternoon. Nice cafe with good ambience.

A fairly popular cafe? I think. It was VERY crowded when I went there on a Sunday and eating time is limit to 75 mins upon food arrival. There are many reviews here so mine will be to the point.😆 The waffle ice cream is a must try! The vanilla ice cream being the standout part of this experience. It's really fluffy, lightly flavoured not to sweet and leaves a very satisfying taste in your mouth when you eat it with the waffles. It's a must order and I would call it a wasted trip if you did not. Pretty Pricey cafe. Most things are above Sgd $20. Not really wallet friendly. (Minus star here) Fairly average food. It's definitely filling just look at that portion. But I would rather not order the main dish and just focus on the ice cream😁 Staff service fairly quick and polite so yeah! Just ask them if you need something.

Extensive menu; enjoyed the mini hash browns with maple syrup. Tender cheek beef, but the fish soba had a hint of fishiness. Service standards can be improved. Suggest changing chairs to cushion ones for better comfort.

Pricing are way too reasonable for what we were getting!!! 🤩😍 It turned out so much better than our expectations. Each dish w different sauces tatse very delicious and all food were served at the right temperature. Tried hot beverages and were great too! Only thing to mention was the tighty seating between one another table. I would revisit again for mains & more desserts! ✌🏻

Options array. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Take note, portions are quite big. Maybe I’m a small eater. Coffees great too. Highly recommended.

Got to know that this place from the net that it's always crowded with people but less that I expect that we do not need to wait long despite no reservation was made. The staff are welcoming and we're actually lucky to get a private room for my friend's birthday celebration. Food are all nicely presented and tasted good. Just that when serving the seafood pasta, it smelled like the seafood weren't fresh, but when after having a taste of it, it's just fine.

I ordered food delivery for the following via GrabFood ✔️Buckwheat Pancakes ✔️Slow Cooked Beef Cheek I feel Buckwheat Pancakes is more suitable to be dine in as I remember they serve it in hot pan when I last went. It is piping hot and the pancakes are softer. It is also beautifully presented like bringing me to a walk in the garden with beautiful edible flowers. The delivery option I get to decorate myself and control the amount of topping. I miss the beautiful edible flowers. I would suggest to heat up the pancake when it arrives. The beef cheek arrived well. It is so tender and melt in my mouth. Very flavourful too.

Was really excited to visit as I had heard great reviews about this place but the food was pricey and a tad underwhelming. Really enjoyed the spring pancake & fried chicken which was seasoned well and tasty. However, truffle fries were undercooked and lacked a truffle taste. Seafood linguine tasted like the traditional prawn noodles soup which I was okay with but was not well-received by my friends. Truffle wagyu don was okay but beef was too tough. Overall, may only visit again to try other dishes

Super nice brunch place. My go to place for ice cream & waffle - lemon and white chocolate sundae is out of this world, especially the cornflake crumbs. Other food items are pretty good as well. Fried chicken and pancake was fantastic. Big brekky was decent. Sweet potato fries was perfect. The teas from Tea Bone Zen Mind were unique and flavourful.

I was craving for waffles and my bff suggested I must give it a try at The Populus! This was my first time here and love the cozy ambience. The main course tasted fresh with good size portion. I was totally melted as both of their dark chocolate waffle and strawberry waffle turned out to be so yummy! 🤗 Do remember to make a reservation ya…

Went for brunch on 5/8 and had a good experience there overall. Food: Had seafood pasta (which had an savoury and interesting taste that I like and hence devoured), truffle fries (your usual fries) and waffle ice cream! Okay not too bad but not like super fantastic. Service: Very prompt, the servers noted our requests throughout meals and food arrived quickly too. Kudos to them for the good service!

Industrial and raw decor when you first walk in; the staff there are friendly. The truffle fries were pretty good as well as their waffles so those are two items on the menu that I would recommend; coffee was not bad as well - ordered a filter coffee and a white. A bit on the pricey end and it is always crowded around here; we had to give them our number and we strolled around the neighborhood. Overall pretty good.

Good food and coffee! Had their scrambled egg with croissant and lobster burger before, which were yummy. This time ordered classic breakfast platter. You can choose to get either smoked salmon or sausage. Their food is always hearty with big portion. Cosy ambience makes this place a nice place to hang with friends or family. Price range is between $20-30 per pax. Would recommend trying Magic for coffee as not many places in Singapore offer Magic (it’s served with double ristretto and has stronger coffee taste). They use Mork chocolate as well. Service is amazing, staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended especially if you are looking for an Australian cafe culture/experience :)

Came here to have coffee and dessert. Tried the lemon and white chocolate waffle. It was good. The lemon jelly was quite sour but could tell it's made from fresh lemon. Would come back here again to try the food.

Solid 1/5 for the seafood linguine with added lobster. Bland & boring. Truffle fries had no truffle taste. Waffles & ice cream saved things a little bit. There is this particular male staff who came across as rude and was happy to shirk responsibilities to his colleagues. He was front of house on 31 Dec.

I was here on a Saturday morning at 10. The place got busy soon after. Luckily I had made a prior reservation. There are two levels, and I was seated on the second level. Food was great. Ordered beef cheek and lamb with eggs. Both are delicious. The beef cheek was so tender that you could eat it with just a fork. The lamb dish was aromatic, tangy, and well-balanced. Service was efficient and friendly. The cafe got too noisy for my liking once the crowd came in. Apart from this, it was a pleasant brunch experience.

There's always a long queue so it's better to make a reservation before that. Food tasted great. Had a pesto mushrooms pasta. Mushroom servings are generous. Staffs are quite responsive. And they provide great service. Overall experience was great. I would come back again.

food is good, but a bit pricey. the buckwheat pancake is thick, savoury and slightly sweet at the same time. very interesting pancake. kinda remind me of a dense cake. everythg went well together, the fruits, the syrup, the crumbs. both of us finished it. however, i do not recommend this as a dessert. too heavy. Its more like a meal. I love the ambience and the staff are quite attentive. there is a dining time limit here, so it feels kinda rush towards the end.

The food was much better than expected of a cafe. The taste of each dish was complex and unique - different from the usual cafe dishes. Even though there was a hiccup in our online reservation, the staff reacted quickly to get us a table on a Friday evening when the restaurant filled up promptly with diners. Reasonable pricing for the delightful food. Nice and cosy ambience suitable for catchup with friends over dinner / desserts. Staff were usually busy since the cafe was packed, but didn't take long to attend to us. Food was served relatively fast - usually within 5-10 minutes of order.

During our recent visit, we decided to sample the seafood linguine and the Halibut & Soba dishes. While the prices were on the higher side, I must say that both selections were undeniably delicious, making the expenditure worth it. For those planning to dine here, I strongly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially given its popularity. However, keep in mind that it might not be an ideal spot for a work session, as the dining time is limited to around 70-90 minutes during peak hours. Overall, this establishment left a positive impression, and I'm eager to return and explore more of what they have to offer.

The food was fantastic and good portion. IG friendly too. It is centrally located with cozy environment for gatherings and meet up. The only thing to note is that there is a dining duration limit on weekend. So once you finish your food, you might need to hop to the next tea/coffee place for ur continuation of chit chat :)

Loved the window view, but the place is small, it was difficult not to listen to people’s conversations next to us. 😂 There was an ant on my table and a fly went over my head…. Service wasn’t great either, they don’t appear to be short staffed but we waited pretty long before anyone came to take our order, and the staffs looked confused and unsure about their own menu. Coffee was pretty good, the buckwheat pancake was very heavy, a little burnt on the bottom, not sure what the yellow grainy stuff is on top of the pancake. But it was very dry and not how I imaged my pancake to be. Very disappointing pancake for $23+.

Really enjoyed my time here. I came at 1pm alone and was seated immediately. The service staff was fast and attentive. The ambience was cosy and bustling with the groups around me looking like they're enjoying themselves too. Fish & Chips wasn't cheap but value for money with 3 big meaty slices of halibut and a tonne of chips. I'd recommend sharing this with someone and order an additional side. Had their oatmilk latte too which had a great body and enjoyable. The Populus is definitely one of the best cafes to be at in the area.

Ordered the roast chicken bowl and it was SO GOOD. I honestly wasn’t expecting much but the light dressing really held it all together. Was told that there was no skim milk on a Saturday morning for my match which made me 🤔🤨because I wouldn’t expect such milk to run out that quickly…. But matcha was not diluted which was good. Wish we could’ve gotten a better service though, we were allocated seats upstairs and had to personally find a staff to place our order….

One of my favorite brunch places in Singapore although they have limited vegetarian (no allium) options. My usual line up/choice would be - truffle fries - avocado superfood green platter - populus green bowl salad My friends also ordered the mushroom soup (delish) and Populus scrambled eggs (generous portion but don’t enjoy the strong tasting herbs are being mixed in the egg batter). Prices are typical brunch places in Singapore (not cheap, mains ranging from $20-32 each) but the food quantity is good/substantial, fresh and delicious! Would recommend this place for vegan, vegetarian and Jain vegetarian who does not mind brunching in not 100% veg place.

Their menu offers a wide range of interesting dishes that make you want to try everything! The chicken rice had crispy and savoury tender chicken with some citrus elements from the vegetables and sauce to add on layers of flavour to the dish. For the French Toast, the addition of crispy cornflakes went well the soft pudding toast. Not a fan of the yogurt sauce with the toast, but it grows on you a little. Service-wise was a bit lacking, but maybe I had too high expectations of a simple cafe.

Saw the many great reviews about this place and it did not disappoint. The brunch options were pretty good! We had the All Day Big Breakie, Spring Pancake and Fried Chicken and the Crispy Ebi Brioche Prawn Toast. Portions were generous, although the service was a bit lacking, had to walk to the counter to get the attention of the staff to take our orders. Food was on the pricier side, but overall it was a pretty good experience.

Place is crowded and there's a dining limit so it does help to let those who did not make a reservation try out the food! Just need to be patient to queue. Food is pretty decent with a wide array of options. We had the salmon rice bowl and the seafood linguine; both of which would have you cleaning up your meal rather quickly!

  • 4/5 Joshua N. 3 years ago on Google
Service is attentive and excellent. Food is on point and plenty of options to choose from. I won't come here specifically for the food but it's a great place for chilling out. I thought the skinny piccolo was done very well. Will be back when there is less crowd and carving for a good coffee near the area.

Nice place to eat at anytime and my kinda food with many selection. The portion size is good and food is fresh too. And yes, customer experience is one of the best. They surprised us with a free cake for missing out the truffle fries that I had ordered.

The service is nice! We were there as walking in customer and they told us that we might have to wait for 30 minutes for a table but then we got in after 15 minutes or so. The food is nice a well. We ordered the scramble plate and the Lumb one, the spice and the bread were great as well as the coffees! Have enjoyed a lot!

Definitely a solid choice for brunch and a cup of coffee. Lots of seating both downstairs and upstairs, though better ambiance downstairs. Really liked the coffee. Brunch was good - had the big brekkie and a friend had the pancake and fried chicken. Both were solid options.

Fabulous brunch place. Food is great. But the Panama geisha was a little disappointing. The floral notes were not really prominent for a geisha. But of course, if you are here for normal coffee, it is already a great coffee place! Recommend to come before 10.30. Crowds streamed in to fill the place quickly from 10.30.

Excellent deli bowls and beef cheek. This is more than a cafe, as you can get good meals as well. On the pricier side (about $20 for mains).

  • 1/5 Alistair C. 3 years ago on Google
Endless wait time if you’re attempting a walk-in. Was advised that it would take around 30-45mins but ended up waiting for an 1hr15mins. No notification about a delay - nothing. Maybe the food is good but the service crew needs to provide an honest indication about how long it will actually take to get a seat instead of telling myself and everyone its 30-45mins. Surely one can tell if the cafe is busy and not follow a script. It didn’t seem worth spending time standing around doing nothing so I eventually gave up and left.

Seafood linguine and breakfast set was good, but could have been better given the price! It's a $35 per pax kind of place, and honestly there are places with better tasting cafe food around this price point (eg Five Oars). Populus seems like a very popular place that I think at this point is rather overrated, by no fault of its own - simply a victim of its own success. Still, decent experience overall. Crowded place on weekends, be sure to reserve a few weeks in advance otherwise you'd need to queue for a while.

Their mork chocolate is one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had! I’m addicted to it. I keep going back to get that and their truffle fries. Wish they sold their mork chocolate powder so that I could make it at home.

Customer service is terrible. Waiter taking our order (A guy wearing specs, without a name tag) was rude, impatient and condescending. When asked with regards to the difference between 6 and 8oz of the coffee, he simply pointed to the counter at the back. Not explaining where he pointed at and appeared curt and impatient. However, we overheard and noticed that he was patiently explaining the difference between 6 and 8oz to another table of customers. To the boss of the Populus, please take note that you will chase customers away with such detestable service. If you are wondering who is the employee, we dined in on the 25 Jan 21 at 12.30pm and we dined at the 2nd floor for our lunch. Food was ok. But the service ruined the entire atmosphere to me. Will not recommend.

Nice ambience, nice decor. Waiter at the door isn't the friendliest. Ordered the cod fish and chips, fish is overcooked and dry, tartar sauce lacking a punch, side salad has no dressing, best thing on the plate is the fries. Highly recommend the strawberry elderflower icecream with buttermilk waffles. The waffles is crisp and remains throughout the course as there was a thin waffle that has the icecream sitting on and wont cause the waffles to feel soft and soggy after soaking up the melted icecream.

Pesto & Mushroom pasta’s presentation was nice and Instagram worry but the food itself was a rather big disappointment. Pasta was tough, chewy and rubbery. Sent it back for a new plate and it came back to same 2/10 Onion pancake with fried chicken had a nice presentation as well, taste was average, not the fried chicken you’d expect, all I can compare it to was with a karaage chicken. 4/10 Hot chocolate was on point 8/10 Potato Wedges was fried to perfection, only problem was the dip for me as the salsa wasn’t really dip-able as the tomato cubes are there, a simple sauce dip would have done the job 7/10 Service staff was nice and friendly despite being busy but could have been a little bit more observant when they brought back the pasta with the utensils, small matter nevertheless. Remember to smile more! Keep it up to the guy and girl who both wore white 10/10. Overall conclusion: overrated and not worth the wait for food

  • 1/5 Al. T. 3 years ago on Google
Service was reasonably good, notwithstanding the incessant flow of people into the restaurant. That said, this is a cafe selling food at reasonably expensive prices so one would have certain expectations of the food quality. Unfortunately this has not been met at the first instance, and it is unlikely I’d return for a second visit. Total damage was almost 70 dollars, but the chicken and pancake tasted oily, ordinary, tough to chew, plain to the palates. Hot chocolate has a chocolatey taste but otherwise ordinary. Compared to the neighbouring shop (the lokal) further up the road, this is really disappointing. It leaves much to be desired and makes me wonder why the reviews gave such good ratings??? I’m confused, and wish people could be more objective when they give ratings.

Pulled Pork Grain Bowl: 4.5 stars Populus Fried Chicken: 4.5 stars Spring Pancake with Populus Fried Chicken: 3 stars I love corn. I love pancakes. This corn pancake was surprisingly mediocre (poor texture). For something similar but better, get the Corn Fritters at Five Oars. POPULUS Scramble (Deluxe Lobster Bisque + Crab Meat): 4.5 stars Seafood Grain bowl was also good with fresh fish and scallops with yummy multigrains. ---- SWEETS ---- Buckwheat Pancakes: 4.75 stars These are amazing here. The texture of a good fluffy banana bread inside, and crispy around the edges. They pass the maple syrup test--so moist and flavourful that I didn't use a drop of the pitcher we were given. Populus Sundae (Lemon White Chocolate: 4.5 stars Less syrup please. Populus Sundae (Strawberry Elderflower): 4 stars Love that it's not too sweet. Less syrup please. Butter Rum Banana French Toast: 4 stars ---- DRINKS ---- Matcha Latte: 5 stars Delicious with both soy milk and oat milk. Chai Latte: 4 stars Made with Pacific Soy milk. Momo in Black (Tea Bone Zen Mind): 3 stars

The food is really not good. We had the donburi truffle Wagyu beef bowl, which is drowned in cheap truffle oil so you cannot taste anything else. The spring onion and corn pancake with fried chicken was ok, even though the pancake is super dry, the huge amount of mayo added on the chicken made it edible. The only good thing was the potatoes wedges (which is probably frozen). That being said the dip provided is a canned tomato sauce, which was awful. On top of that all items are overpriced. The jasmine lemongrass tea was good. Atmosphere is pleasant, nicely decorated. Staff is not particularly friendly. I’ll never go again to this place.

Customer service is attentive and friendly. Crockery was nice looking and environmental friendly too. Food presentation was nice.. Colour n texture are well presented.. Flavour wise okay only. We found the big breakie was abit too expensive.. Rosti was too oily n no flavour.. I mean.. Most items given is on the cheaper ingredients except the salad and sausage. Linguine seafood pasta was good taste but too dry no sauce.. Scallops was cooked perfectly. Scrambled egg also done perfectly but we find the portion was too small for the amount charged. Fish and chips Fries was not salted. Fish was fine at least using cod fish not Dory. We still find them too dry. Might over fried or pre-fry n not fry upon order. Overall was good laa... Just highlight only.

Good food and service. The food never cease to amaze me. I’ve tried the bowls here and especially love the chicken rice one. We went for brunch today and ordered populus scramble and slow cooked beef. Love them both! Definitely will go again soon.

Enjoyed a quiet weekday brunch at The Populus. Coffee is great here and food served are delicious and done just right. Highly recommend the scrambled egg croissant with turkey ham.

Great chocolate cake, and hot chocolate. Very friendly service as well. But price is high and because of crowdedness, it can be rather loud and noisy in the cafe.. bit i will still return for the food.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. But the jury's out on the Ragu beef pasta I ordered. It's an acquired taste. But their fries was excellent.

Nothing great about the place, completely overhyped and extremely overpriced. They get a lot of customers because of their location.

Extensive menu for brunch/lunch go-ers alike, with real good coffee. I ordered a gibralta and the coffee roast was perfect, and milk frothed to perfection and poured in nicely to blend with the beans. My friend ordered the beef cheeks and it was excellent. Can't go wrong with a morning at Populus!

Didn’t manage to make a reservation before heading down to the cafe but we didn’t have to wait for seats. Nice vibe, good service and food was great. Good for a quick meal!

Love the cod & leek, beef cheek & cafe mocha. I prefer coffeebean's carrot cake but hub prefers Populus's. 70% dark chocolate drink is legit. Nice ambiance and staff 🙂

  • 5/5 P 2 years ago on Google
Food is good for cafe standard. Good flavours and meats were tender. They don’t take reservations over the phone/app, so you can only take a queue at the door.

Finally have the chance to dine here. Staff is friendly and cheery. Coffee is really good. Food is so so. Spring Pancake was plain. Nice and cozy place.

  • 5/5 Roxanne C. 2 years ago on Google
The food is really delicious! Especially the Buckwheat Pancakes, the pancake texture is different from other pancakes with crispy edge and mix with the berries sauce, maple syrup and butter. This is so perfect!

Decent food but not surprised. Most of the food is way too oily and bread is not crispy enough for me. Good service and vibe, it’s okay to come but don’t expect too much and not worth waiting for if come on weekends.

Had brunch at the cafe and I loved the chill atmosphere. The white coffee with oat milk was amazing and one of the nicest I’ve had. I also enjoyed the avocado toast which came with lots of veggies. The dressing on the kale was slightly sour which made the dish refreshing. The French toast was pretty sweet but delicious overall.

Had a walk-in brunch today, it has a nice ambience though it gets noisy when the crowd started to come in. The service is good, staffs are pretty attentive. We ordered all day big brekkie and spring pancake & fried chicken. The food taste is a little bit lacklustre for its price. White coffee is pretty balanced.

Amazing food here! Love the service and atmosphere ! It is good to make a reservation as it can be quite crowded for walk ins. Would love to visit again!

Fantastic experience. Staff was well trained, patient and friendly. Readily recommended and suggested nice pairing of main dishes with drinks. Pancake with Crispy chicken - sweet pancake with fried chicken. Very well spiced and flavorful chicken goes surprisingly well with the sweet base pancake. Cod Fish with Cold Soba Hot Cod fish with Cold Soba . Refreshing and tantalising combination! Perfectly pan fried Cod fish with aptly seasoned soba. Both dishes come recommended by the excellent service crew. Cold brew with milk rich aromatic with sweeten milk Sinfully satisfying Pour over filter coffee Colombia beans Full bodied , sweet , citrus and fruity flavors with no hint of bitterness. Balanced with pleasant acidity. Perfect for cleansing the palate after the crispy chicken. Will definitely re visit this place!

Fried chicken and pancake was not bad. For the cod and soba, the portion is generous but it was quite average. The soba dressing tastes a bit too sweet and the cod was slightly overcooked. Place is small so I'd reserve ahead. Good service.

Always been a fan of populus! Think hot chocolate. Breakfast menu items and I’m always back for more. Wasn’t too impressed during my latest visit thou. Seafood pasta tasted like they were prepared way toooo early and reheated n the microwave? The seafood were all mashed up and tasteless, without that umami taste from fresh seafood. Hot chocolate drink impressed, as usual. Pesto mushroom, cod fish and chips! Impressive!

I don't think their food are outstanding. Typical cafe food. It is not cheap, more on the higher side 20++ per dish. Tried their fish and chips and also buckwheat pancake. They are yummy but I would not they are worth the price. Didn't try the coffee unfortunately. The place vibe is good. Service was quick and the waiters' service was good. They should have more toilet stalls. What I observed was that during the weekend the place was packed and in several instances there was a queue for the toilet.

Came here for brunch and find this place nice and cozy. Not very much of a crowd and the staffs were also friendly. Flat white (balanced) tasted good too and food was filling and very nicely presented. We ordered the breakfast with scrambled eggs and buckwheat pancake. Will come back again to try other food too!

Great coffee !!! Cozy and nice ambience upper floor. Friendly and good standard services. Pricey food but come with good size of portion, that able to fill up your empty stomach and very nice presented. Overall the food tasted great, only that buckwheat pancake was not to our liking. User-friendly and easy way to make a reservation.

The restaurant served delicious food and had an inviting ambience. The dishes I tried includes spring onion pancake with fried chicken and the strawberry waffle. The staff were prompt and helpful. The ambience felt nice to be in while enjoying the meal. The price was really steep, but worth the rare visits to the area.

Visited Populus with my friend and it was a pleasant experience overall. The food were great, but we really liked the Tater Tots! 😍 Super crunchy and flavourful! Ordered the Pancake & Fried Chicken and All Day Big Brekky; the portion is huge so I’d recommend sharing and ordering lesser. Lastly, the 70% Dark Chocolate was amazing!

One of my favourite cafe. Everything is good. Waffle is nicely done with the right fluffy and crisp texture . Scrambled egg croissant is nicely done and bacon not too salty. Of course they comes with nicely brewed coffee

Went on a weekday morning, was among the first few patrons. Service was courteous. Had the halibut & leek. Fish has a perfect outer layer crisp, loved it. Coffee was alright

This is a really popular cafe and it’s better to make a reservation rather than walk in. The Populus French Toast was not bad, not too sweet and the toast was quite fluffy. The Strawberry & Elderflower Sundae with Waffle looks impressive but melts fast. The waffle was quite crispy even with the ice cream on top. The Maple Butter Tater Tots is super addictive, especially if you are dining with kids. It is a must try!

The soft poached eggs and smoked salmon combo is so great. Plus, the cafe's ambiance is so inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a delightful brunch. Highly recommended!

The ambience is something you would appreciate while having your meal here. The service staff is very helpful and friendly. One thing I didn't enjoy is their Scrambled Egg, it lacks of flavor and find it a bit to dry in the centre. Their filter coffee was actually good

Came here with the expectation of having typical brunch but ended up having fine dining instead. The quality of food exceeded our expectations. Ordered Halibut and steak with roasted cabbage. Presentation of food makes the brunch looked more like fine dining. Halibut laid on top of mashed potato was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. Mashed potato was nicely done as well with some smaller chunks of potato so it still retains potato texture. Roasted cabbage was sweet, nicely roasted. Very pleasing to the eye, like a juicy vegetable. Steak were nicely done too. Lattes were over the top!

First visit - in less than 10 mins, our food were served, I wonder if they were cooked in advance and heat up when someone order or it was due to off peak. The cafe is very cosy and everyone tends to speak softer. It’s a nice place to chill during weekday and in the afternoon.

Reserve ahead for the weekend, 75 min dine-in time as it’s super busy. Came for the buckwheat pancakes and loved it. Blueberry compote with fresh fruits and crispy cornflakes crumble complement the grainy and soft yet moist and fluffy pancake (sounds crazy). Very filling. Scrambled Eggs and harissa fried eggs with lamb are good too.

The burrata with pesto is good, the beef cheeks taste a little like the Chinese beef stew. Pasta was not bad too. A must order is their toast.

Nice ambience with coffee aroma when step into the cafe. The coffee is nice and suit my preference. All the food we order is nice and tastes good. Definitely will come back again.

We tried their popular seafood linguine, french toast and key lime tart. It was nice but the star of the show was the houjicha and flat white.

The fried chicken on scallion pancake was excellent, the 3pc chicken thighs are stacked together and 2 time fried how your karaage comes out in izakaya. I couldn’t taste much of the pancake but overall the spicy mayo drizsled on top was a good balance. Juicy tender dark meat, my absolute favorite of a chicken part🤗 Lamb shakshuka was quite mushy! But it was very tasty. Bread soaked the mushiness and stain, great balance of the wet and dry. Maple butter tater tots were quite an invention. It is sweet, I might prefer the good ol original tater tots. These are good to lunch on, the sweet taste spreads and overcome the potato and on some pieces you can taste the butteryness like a nicely soaked butter popcorn. Houjicha latte was one of the best lattes I’ve had! I got iced. I think they used soy milk? Not sure but very tastey and not too sweet, just how I like it!! I can’t wait to come back to try their lobster tail seafood linguine. It was too much fried stuff for my brunch today :( Amazing food overall. Ambiance very basic. Nice busy spot for a weekend catch up with absolutely delicious food!!!
