The serving staff are rude, and on more than one occasion. The reason could be because they are the only coffee shop near the HV mrt that is air conditioned and serves local type breakfast. That shouldn't justify why they would want to get ahead of themselves and be complacent about it. They gave me the feeling they just couldn't be bothered. I like the coffee here but if they continue to take everyone for granted, well even if the pratas look good, thinking how this place could cramp one's morning seriously will turn any want-to-feel-good-in-the-morning person off.

Food is good. But the way the ppl work there make your blood boil. Wasting so much time doing other & not helping each other. 1 prata make me wait 30mins. Best part - closing timing is 10pm. U close prata kitchen at 730pm.

Extremely lousy service with average tasting food. Asked the auntie if table was taken and the reply was rude, citing she's not in charge of looking after the table and seats. Took a table at the end near the return tray and was rudely shown a few plastic bags of raw unprepared food on the table that the cafe staff placed it. Was told by the staff later to choose another table that was just free up. Definitely won't be returning again.

The service at this shop is incredibly poor, from the unfriendly cashier to the unhelpful usher. The usher behaves like a stern headmistress, constantly glaring at customers without offering any assistance. Additionally, she rudely demands that customers return their trays without asking politely. Besides that, it is overpriced for a mediocre food. Due to this experience, I have decided that I will never visit this shop again.

Rice cake with coconut & Yun-Yang (mix of coffee and tea) brought our week to a good light end. Thanks to Cafe O. Coffee's so great! ☕️❤️🇸🇬 (6/2 pre CNY) Another lovely visit after brunch with close-knit friends at nearby shopping centre; this time 3pm time vibrant, posh, positive people around. The best in HV Holland Village neighborhood. A must in a weekend. 4/5 guys you've a sense of peace here whilst you hear different people chatting. Beyond civil! Awesome ☕️afternoon. ♥️🇸🇬

Decent coffee and tea place. But good that it is indoors and aircon-ed! Service could be faster though

Limited seats, food is quite affordable. They sell nasi lemak as well as roti prata, you don’t find at these aircon coffeeshops. The place is run by only two staff; where one does all the serving, cleaning and cashiering while all the other only makes the prata. I went for a quick lunch but not sure will I visit the place again

Prata was ok but curry was lacking in character. The Aircon was not working and serving staff wasn't really proactive to get Aircon working.

There is a need for social distancing hence there are fewer seats. You need to better manage your seating system. Your sign in front of the shop says "please wait to be seated" but you allow people to walk in to chope seats. End up the people who queued to order food find that there are no seats left despite your signage. And your staff got defensive and angry when questioned about the system. Disappointing experience.

Not bad for their roti prata but better not see how they prepare the food. But the Malay guy serving at the cashier on 11/2/2022 at 11.20 am has horrible listening skill. I asked for ice tea and I hear him repeat ice! But he still key in hot tea and still dare to argue back and gave me dirty spoon while I told him twice ITS DIRTY! then the other guy quickly put the new spoon. This kind of person deserved to be scolded.

Great little eatery that is tied to Soup Spoon for a quick bite. Fresh Roti Prata and murtabaks made to order. Local food such as nasi lemak, Mee Siam, Laksa and Mee Rebus is also available. Putu Mayam for dessert is great too. Separate dinner menu is available.

The nasi lemak & the ambience is good here. Unfortunately, there’s a Chinese waiter with serious attitude problem. It’s like we owe him money when we place an order. Horrible.

I have to say, the prata here is really good. The curry tastes awesome and has the correct viscosity. Also, the prata is always fresh as it’s made when you order so you are guaranteed to have a hot prata! The only downside is the price of items can be a little on the high side.

I remember the mee rubus here to be much better. Now it’s dry, not much sauce, can’t taste the sauce anyway and the overall flavour is bland.

Food was tasty - ordered chicken briyani rice, it was nicely packed for takeaway. The food is a bit on the salty side but that maybe because of us being used to less salty home cooking. No issue with the food otherwise. The place has some seatings and clean in general. Service was good.

Service is definitely rude! Came a couple of times - nvr change.... especially those wearing in black t-shirt estremely rude with their eye contact to customer, respond and body language, unsure if they are the supervsor or manager! If there is a way of not given even a star on service - bec they dont deserve that. This is gonna be the last time... no other choice in the mall... so they are sort of lucky that ppl still comes in....

Air Con Prata Place Had breakfast here. Tried the Prata kosong and it was nice and fluffy, accompanied by an equally good curry. This place is more upscale than other usual Prata places. Hence, do expect prices to be at a premium. Overall, this place gives you the feeling of a relaxed idyllic place. Most suitable for a nice quiet chat with a friend or two. This is a place that is worth a try.

Not too bad in the food quality. Served ranges of local breakfast like mee siam, mee rebus, prata, soft boiled egg, bread, laksa, nasi lemak , coffee etc... hiding at the corner in the Holland Village. I ordered special dry mee siam with otak and Onion egg prata.. tasted great but a bit pricey! Spilled my coffee and asked to pay for new one.. else they deserved probably 4 Stars!

If I could give no star I would. The staff here are unfriendly rude slow and especially today I had terrible experience at the Holland branch. I ordered x they gave me y and still 'order' me to pay extra for their mistake. Plus, one of the staff Siva told me off for ordering wrongly and blaming them!????? Totally absurd. Nowadays, nobody needs to take responsibility for their own mistakes anymore. Disappointing service substandard food, will be replaced easily with the current food scene in Singapore. Manager Ray came to apologise on behalf of his mistake and collect the remaining 1 dollar difference from me. Seriously, this place need to work on their food, speed and customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND AMD DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE COMING Back. Left unpleased unhappy and upset. Food is also very expensive. Bring your money somewhere else.

Be prepared to be patient with the service. The dim sum was so so but the dry mee siam was surprisingly good. I believe this is a social enterprise set up. A commendable effort. Next time we will try the prata!

  • 3/5 Martin T. 4 years ago on Google
They were severely understaffed and the poor cashier had to double or even triple up with making drinks, refilling napkins, plating food and spreading toast. This led to an extremely long waiting time and many glum diners. The prata itself was not bad, crispy and not too thick. The curry left much to be desired. It's not hard to imagine why this once crowded establishment now has ample empty seats on a Sunday morning.

We ordered 2 cups of coffee n was told by the staff that the coffee has been in the pot for a while. If we find the taste off, she will brew fresh coffee for us. Well, the coffee turned out to b sour. And we had very nicely brewed coffee. The chicken curry was yummy, the meat was tender. But the mutton curry taste a tad sour n there were lots of fats. Otherwise we had a pretty good dinner.

Tea C was very good.. Not the typical serabat lean and too sweet teh tarik. Good strong Indian red tea! Roti prata egg and onions.. Expertly done!! Not the "artificially crispy" semi-deep fried type. Done over a good hot pan without flooding the pan with oil. Every layer inside is fully cooked, crisp enough outside and the cooked eggs and onions smells enticing.. And at tea-break ONLY $4.80..!!😄 👍 Really good stuff!! 👍 👍 👍

A couple of months ago, i was hospitalised for 34 days due to an inflamed knee which required Surgery, and after being admitted in hospital for such a prolinged period of time, and was approaching my birthday, my young daughter wanted to get a piece of brownie to celebrate my birthday. Yet she was told that they ran out brownie, and the lady staff made a very nice and warming gesture by gifting my daughter with a piece of FOc muffin to be given to me to celebrate my birthday. We shared the delicious muffin that day, and today after attaining some form of mobility i made my way to thank the staff at the branch and have our breakfast T2 x 02 sets with nice tuna, mushroom and chicken puff. Many thanks to Kopi & Staff.

Putu Mayam was quite alright. Understand there are some complaints about the cleanliness. Not so sure as I didn’t see cockroaches in my mayam so far. 😅 hopefully won’t and don’t want to see also. 😂 I had a teh peng (iced tea) which was mixed quite ok. Not too bad in terms of taste and consistency. This is the few place where I can get putu mayam in the area so if you know elsewhere feel free to ping me! It’s also air conditioned but it can be crowded during peak hours despite some people giving it bad reviews two stars and below. All in all the convenience and price is quite ok. I guess that’s why business is still pretty good in this simple cafe.

This cafe is simply but nicely furnished, resembling an old school kopitiam. There is a wide variety of local fare but mostly Indian/Malay food. The roti prata was very good. Unfortunately, the lontong was extremely salty. Prices of beverages are too insanely high - $3 on average for a cup. Overall, still a pleasant place for a meal. Didn’t experience poor hygiene or horrible service as observed by past reviewers.

My visit with 2 friends to the Holland Village outlet was a very unpleasant experience on 23 October 2022 10.30am. It was our 1st visit to the outlet. 1st most is the service staff. Everyone one of them seem to be very unwilling to assist in our ordering n was inpatient in servicing my order. My order teh terik was not like teh terik at all n it came without sugar at all. When i ask why the teh was so bland. I didn't order without sugar. Approach the staff, he just pass me a bottle of sugar. Is tis how it is served. I m really very not happy with all the service staff in black tee. Will not come here at all even if the food is good. Something have to be done to this group of staff. 1st impression count.

Food is okay but service has worsened over time. Visited recently and guy who was handling cash at the cashier was also the same person in charge of the prata station. Did not wash hands in between. When my mum commented on it, he got angry and stormed out, leaving the other guy at the counter to finish frying the prata. Other guy didn’t comment, no apologies, nothing. Just a few months ago, did a takeout here and they also had no apologies when they mixed up our orders and we waited longer than needed.

  • 1/5 Paula M. 1 year ago on Google
Horrible service. Counter staff, who looked like you owe him a living, warned that the wait would be long That's fine. He charged wrongly, and when questioned, just returned a $2 note without saying anything. I checked receipt and found out he overcharged again. He returned the difference without any apology. Understand the place was busy that morning but that was not an excuse for such bad attitude.

  • 1/5 Milky S. 1 year ago on Google
Worst customer service ever! Been there many times, the Roti is good but customer service was never good. The morning crew specifically the guy that manages the counter is super rude. We ordered 4 Roti and they gave us 2 minuscule curry bowls. We asked for more and was challenged on how many people are eating. If you have only 2 person then you only get 2 curry even if your have 4 roti. The manners were so bad and confrontational. Despite him making mistake on the coffee which was supposed to be take away, he was annoyed when we asked whether the roti is ready after waiting almost 20mins. He was so rude insisting that he already said must wait 15-20mins! Just ridiculous service. Just wish the guy who makes the roti works somewhere else. Anyways, we will never go to Cafe O at Holland ever again.

We couldn’t go for morn walk due to heavy rain and settled for BF at Cafe O at Holland. I like the wide selection of food to choose from and it was quiet when we arrived. Ordered long tong and milo kosong ~ $9.60. Price on the high side but the long tong taste fine with a huge cup of milo. What seriously need to be improved is the service staff at the cashier. Saw many comments about him here. There is/are demanding customers but there is no reason you cannot be polite to the rest. If you do read this, look back at customer’s comments or stay in the kitchen might be better?

Decent food (nasi lemak chicken o and plaster prata) and coffees. Clean, bright environment. Pleasant experience overall. The service was fine and I did not encounter the poor service that seems to be the main grievance of most reviews here - the service of the cashier was efficient and direct; might not be the friendliest but I would certainly not consider it rude either. Would come back.

Café O is an amazing eatery. The able team is led by Ah Seng and Ferouz. Their awesome chefs Shafie and Riyaz conjure up the most sumptuous of spreads with an eye on hygiene, quality ingredients, affordability and delightful service. Their curries and pratas are among the best I’ve ever devoured. Keep up the excellent work Team Café O!!!

Ordered 2 chicken wings ala carte but Chinese male staff cashier gave 2 plates of nasi lemak and he’s very rude when my hubby clarified. My hubby then went back to collect the 2 soft boil eggs ordered but Indian guy preparing the prata opened the eggs and left it there without further instructions to pass it to my hubby and he had to stand there waiting for a long time. Very disappointed with the service provided by them.

Came for lunch on Sunday, ordered nasi lemak (CFV) and roti plaster. The nasi lemak was really bad. The chicken, veg and fish were cold. Sambal was more towards salty and sweet while the rice had no fragrance in it. The roti plaster was fresh as it was made to order. However the gravy they gave was not only diluted and slightly cold, you could taste just the curry powder. The only plus point is the 2 employee that was making the prata and the drink.

Soup Restaurant‘s Cafe O is a modern version of the coffee shop which serves the traditional local breakfast, light bites and coffee/tea. A Singaporean coffee shop. You get a beeper after placing your order. The kitchen at the back will prepare the order. The draw was the prataman flipping pratas. It’s a self collect and return system. What makes this coffee shop different is the prata man making fresh pratas and murtabaks on the hot stove. And he puffs up the fried prata to make it more crispy. The chicken curry was bland and non-descriptive, ie, lacking in the curry oomph and spice. The cup which held my tea was super thick which means I needed two orders to make a 250ml normal sized cup. The menu is the basic usual light local fare. Nothing stands out except for the freshly made prata and murtabak.

My new favourite place for breakfast, introduced by a friend. Love the plaster prata, kopi and teh are also nice. Was told the nasi lemak and laksa are nice too, but have not tried. One of the more novel dishes is the nian gao prata. I don’t really have a sweet tooth, so luckily this was not too sweet.

Wow can't really understand the reviews here because we love it so much we came back twice in 25h. The prata is absolutely amazing, it's really fluffy and it's really rare to get this texture nowadays. The drinks are great too. The iced Milo is really worth the $3.

Nice fusion restaurant, the Nian Gao Prata was fresh and with a very unique combination and taste. We ordered 2 more as it was really good!!! Price is very reasonable for quality. I am a bit surprised by some of the review, surely some of the staff can be a little “rude” but I don’t deserve a 1 star!

Found this inexpensive (relatively) gem in Holland V complex. Had their nasi lemak with otak and ikan kembong. Sambal little on the sweet sour side but still appetising nonetheless. Teh c is full milk rich. Kopi c average. Can rival more well-known chains like yakun and toast box. Mee siam is delicious too. Should try for kopitiam lovers.

👍 Came here on a weekday evening thus, there werent any crowd and food was served promptly. I ordered the signature original pork ribs and rlly liked it, the meat was so tender and easy to eat. The marination of the ribs will have to be the star of the show where it had a smoky bbq flavour to it, wh...

👍👍 Another branch of Tiong Bahru Bakery. A popular branch, long queue could always be expected. Thankfully the queue moved fast. Wide selection of pastries. Service was a bit below par for that day due to high customer traffic. Pricing wise, could be considered a bit on the high side. However, based on...
