The female cashier was extremely rude. My friend who was trying to make an order and she spoke to him in Mandarin. He couldn’t get what she was saying and told her he didn’t understand. She replied him sarcastically “Chinese don’t know how to speak Chinese?”. I think this kind of response is completely unacceptable and very disrespectful to customers. It is up to the customer to speak whatever languages he/she prefers and it is not right to make sarcastic remarks at customers who makes the part of her salary? I hope the management will take the necessary disciplinary action to this staff else her behavior will tarnish the brand .

Funan branch — Great place to grab a quick pick me up, such as the thick toast peanut butter with coffee and tea. They have the usual sets, which include eggs, or rice if you are hungrier. Like the decor on the walls too. Can get quite noisy when crowded.

Auntie, please stop bullying regular Singaporean customers and have different standards..... We have been a regular in this outlet for 1 year as we like the food and coffee. Its sad to say it will be our last visit. Was told that 2 of us should sit in a 2 seater table as we usually sat long. Told her that we always respect 45mins limit. She informed that this policy did not apply on weekend. She couldn't find a 2 seater Immediately and left. As we started to eat our food, she again came back to assign us to an empty 2 seater which we strongly refused since we started dining. First, there were empty tables around and not as if people were waiting for our seat. Second, why was there such a policy in this outlet? And why was such comment being directed to a regular where we saw 2 pax occupying 4 or 6 seater table? STOP BULLYING! STOP SUCH LOUSY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! Outlet manager, please review and ensure consistent practice in your outlet. There should be no self imposed policy and all customers must be treated equally.

Our family never missed breakfast and always go for a heavy one to kick-start the day. Toast box is the to go place as usual. The chicken was fried on the spot but tasteless maybe not well marinated. Other than that the portions are generally generous. Set items come with a drink & a side be it curry puff, coffee cake or a small bun. The staffs work really hard to cope with the long queue. Hats off to them! Keep up the good work.

Very crowded outlet. Came to try the curry chicken rice set. Unfortunately the quality is not that great compared to other outlets. In fact, there were only 3 pieces of chicken wings compared to 5 at other outlets, like the one at TTSH. The quality of the curry is also not as fragrant at this outlet. Hence there is inconsistency across different outlets and you need to try them to know which one offers better quality curry chicken. The service crew is also not as friendly at this outlet.

Kopitiam with kaya toast and either coffee or teh. The teh is actually nicer than the coffee but when you need a strong hit of caffeine then the beans will win. Pretty tasty snacks and when you are in a rush and need a quick pitstop.

Came here for breakfast before running off to work. Had my usual Kopi C Kosong and Wholemeal Toast with Crunchy Peanut Butter. Both were yummy. The coffee had the right aroma, slightly less milk would be better. The toast was freshly done and had the right amount of crunch on the outside and supersoft inside. The peanut butter was out of this world 😝. Recommended for breakfast meals.

On my first trip to Singapore, I tried the Kaya toast at the Toast Box for the first time. Omg, I immediately fall in love with it. For days, my breakfast was the same, the #1 set (Kaya toast, coffee, & eggs)😅If you are visiting Singapore for the first time, I highly recommended the Kaya toast & iced coffee. 😊

Service staff more concerned about their phones and talking within themselves - stood there for about 5 mins and no one bothered to ask what i wanted when i was obviously standing in front of the cashier wanting to order. After my order was finally placed, the gentleman behind me got his order first before mine - outrageous, isn’t it first come first serve? and my cup of teh for takeaway was left there for a few minutes before the staff at the cashier finally noticed. Terrible service, no wonder more and more people are boycotting toast box..

Customer service is non-existent at this eatery. Having lived abroad many years, I'm unfamiliar with the ordering/payment system but because I looked local enough, they assumed you knew. The young guy taking the orders was so rude. Waved me over, asked for my order in an exasperated manner and threw the notification beeping device on the counter and walked away after I paid. I didn't even know that device was meant for me and had to ask the customer in front of me if it was hers. Service staff here don't open their mouths to speak. They grunt and expect to be understood. Horrid. Also, the 2 slices Kaya toasts were so squashed and puny. They looked like bread off cuts. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

I had the Mee Rebus ($5.60 a la carte). You get a bunch of green chillis in your bowl which ups the spiciness of the bowl. But there are few ingredients in the bowl. You get a few tofu cubes, one hard boiled egg and one begedil. The taste overall was average.

Dinner at 8pm is unlike lunch hours, not as crowded, limited seats though. spaces between tables are a bit tight. Menu wise, should we shout about something that has become a norm?

These coffee joints should open till 10 pm at least. Most stop at 8 or 7 plus in most places when you want to have a cuppa after dinner. Also, most outlets have limited sitting places and some outlets are served by staff that needs some service education

Most famous is toast of course more things will be boiled egg and tea. whenever I passed through mostly crowded. Some people are waiting for sit and some are enjoying their meal at counter top. Place is not so wide but organize, neat and tidy. Mostly I used to be there in morning time for my fresh breakfast. Good and I like it. That's my review for you Toast Box.

This is a nice place to take a break while shopping. Quite small and crowded but the seats don't take long to be available. The tea here is absolutely perfect and the staff here are very talented in brewing it. I recommend trying just Teh. Definately a 5 stars experience for me!
