Was looking forward to try Plain Vanilla Cup cakes. Highly recommended with good reviews online. But was rather disappointed, just overall sweetness overkill that took over all flavors. Can't tell the difference between red velvet / salted caramel / cinnamon brown sugar / pineapple butter. Is all just sweet with icing sugar as cream. Marmalade Pantry cub cakes are way better!!!!!!!!

Not bad for the ambience and food. We ordered spicy beef rasa and smashed avocado toast. Coupled with smashed orange juice and apple lemom ginger which is more refreshing than the earlier. We came here around 2+ and full house. Fortunately we just have to wait for 5 mins before someone left the table 😅

Nice cupcakes, baked offerings and drinks. I ordered the Iced Summer Berry Tea to enjoy in, with an Osmenthus Cupcake & Dark Chocolate Brownie to take-away. All were very good and tasty. Being served a small cup of water when you sit down without having to ask is a great touch - Simple but much appreciated and displays good, attentive service. Thanks to the Team, keep up the good job!

was a nice toast to have - a small quantity which I like but seemed pricey for it. sourdough was a bit overpowering, but overall was nice and rich and they were very generous with the avocado! the bakery items looked really nice too. I’ll go back and try more hopefully soon :)

Just like to appreciate the staff on duty at the cashier at 12pm today — had wanted the Caesar salad to go with my quiche for lunch but a previous patron had ordered the last portion at the time of my ordering. Had to make do with ordering another side, but when the kitchen managed to restock the Caesar salad in time, the staff took note and remembered my initial intended order and served it to me ☺️

Saw 1 for 1 main deal on Entertainer so gave it a try. The vibe was not bad. Self-ordered at the cashier. Had the pasta but one of it i believe was pesto chicken had too much black olive in it. The pasta was too salty, all i tasted was the black olives. Asked for an exchange to tone down the saltiness and it turned out slightly better but still salty. The garlic aglio olio was much better and balanced taste and texture overall. Price are on the higher end.

Decent place to get food for lunch. It was quite crowded and only walk-ins are accepted. Portions are small if you’re not too hungry. There is a choice to add 1/2/3 salads to go with your mains. Of course you can also choose the dessert items such as cupcakes. The pork cutlet was a bit tough and the quiche was so so, they could have heated it up.

A little disappointed as they changed the recipe for the salad. No more bite size of the Greek cheese in the salad, and the salad is a little too wet now. The muffin and brownie are always standing out. Tasty and good quality cherry in the rum flavoured brownie. Lemon blueberry muffin is good, not sour at at all, yet goes very well with the blueberry taste. The iced latte was very normal, hot coffee taste better than iced. Price increased a little.

Love everything here. They open at 7.30am so great for morning meetings or just some me time at the cafe in CBD area. Indoor seating is limited and they have quite a good outdoor seating size. Very near to Telok Ayer mrt. Love the muffins they have thou I usually just have black coffee for drinks.

Been here few times during lunch, like the simple and yet tasty with quality food! Not the best but managed to satisfy our palate every time without fail! Limited indoor seating, hence, might not be too pleasure to dine in during lunch on a hot day!

Generally alright in terms of the main course. The pastries look really good though and I do hope to try them the next time. Do note there’s limited seating.

I had fantastic Matcha Latte and a ricotta stone fruit toast. The bread was really good, I think it might be great to add something a little salty like roasted smoked ham or bacon to balance the sweetness and to give it a bit of crunch.

For three consecutive days many items on the menu had sold out by 2 p.m. Appreciated it is always hard to plan for a restauranteur, but this does now seem a consistent failure. Customer-facing staff friendly and helpful, and not at all to blame. Broken fan outside makes this hot - very few inside seats.

Hmmm. Very underwhelmed. The presentation of the food is fabulous and the coffee was one of the best flat whites I’ve had in Singapore but the service was poor, inattentive and lacklustre, and I don’t know how, but my “soft boiled eggs” were hard on the yolk and uncooked on the white - maybe they microwaved them ? It sure tasted that way. Disappointing because it’s a great spot and they clearly have nailed food presentation

enjoyed going here and spending with my friends and it felt very cozy, the service was amazing and they were really helpful in telling us what is good and we felt comfortable there...i also would like to add on that the music taste of the cafe was also really nice...we tried the peanut butter brownie, dark chocolate marble loaf and milk chocolate honeycomb tart which were absolutely fantastic and we definitely had a sugar rush but it was worth the experience. will definitely go back!! price may be varied for different meals because there were four of us, we were able to have it as less than $10 for each of us but i do feel that it is worth it

I went to this cafe on Sunday morning Not that crowded and easy, cozy vibe I ordered flat white. It was so nice. Originally, i did not plan to order dessert, but I couldn't help but order banana bread and cupcake. Tunrs out, it was a great choice

The food and drink are relatively good. The chicken tagine is good, it is so flavourful. While the pork collar is a bit dry and tough but acceptable. Came around 12pm weekdays, and surprisingly it was not even crowded. Managed to claim the 1 for 1 on Entertainer and it was quite cheap after redeeming it.

Went there in the middle of the day, it was not very crowded. Vibe was pretty cozy. Couldn’t recall the cake, but both tasted not bad. Iced white was 👌🏼, friend enjoyed the oolong also.

I had a great time eating delicious cupcakes at your bakery cafe. The staffs were committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere quite a lot of people passing by. But I definitely liked that you have a very street style dining area. Most importantly we enjoyed the cupcakes, coffee and your service kudos.

Really nice place for you to get your meal. The marble cake is exquisite, love it.. the place is just so hectic for the employee to get their food while in break time, limited place for a dine in..

Decent cafe at telok ayer with a relatively small menu. we came here with the entertainer discount and it was really worth it. We ordered the chicken pasta and the beef pasta and the avocado toast. I liked the chicken pasta better as there were chunks of chicken meat and the olives really enhanced the flavour of the dish. Also liked that the staff didn’t chase us away and we had a good time sitting and talking at the cafe.

5* for the cupcakes! Fluffy and moist. 2* for the pasta. The chicken pesto and aglio olio pasta. There was too much cheese for the aglio olio and overwhelmed the garlic. Gf was not pleased, got a scolding. Came for the entertainer deal, so it was worth as the portion was big.

can always count on Plain Vanilla when it comes to their cupcakes and desserts - although the older I get, the lower my threshold for sweet treats; so it’s been awhile since I last stepped foot into PV! was pleasantly surprised to find out they offer savory lunch options. came here on a saturday after attending a spin class in the area, so we were looking for something light but filling. we didn’t make any reservations, so there was a little bit of a wait but we managed to get seated fairly quickly (~15 mins). would recommend ordering their house super salad and their spicy beef ragu tagliatelle! their house super salad is especially good because it’s packed with ingredients like kale, quinoa, feta cheese without “feeling” like a salad. one point to note is that they have a different menu on weekdays vs. weekends. I returned on a weekday to order their spicy beef pasta only to discover it wasn’t available, so do check out their different menus prior to manage your expectations! overall, really liked the food and the ambience of the place. space wise its a little tight but we didn’t really mind it! pro tip: the entertainer is accepted here - we used it to get a little discount off our meal 😊

We recently had brunch at Plain Vanilla and it was a delightful experience! The food was delicious - we had the egg benedict and it was perfectly cooked with a rich hollandaise sauce and tasty prosciutto; the granola bowl which was also very good and had a great mix of fruits and nuts. Our drinks were also fantastic - we had cappuccino which was creamy and full of flavor and iced chocolate which was very refreshing. The ambiance of the place was cozy and family-friendly, making it the perfect spot for a casual brunch. You don’t need to wait at the door for seating. Just walk in, order and sit. The average cost is $30 per person. I would highly recommend Plain Vanilla for anyone looking for a comfortable and delicious brunch experience.

Came here to takeaway some snacks! I love the atmosphere of the cafe and would have stayed for coffee if I had the time. The loafs are my favourite, followed by the cupcakes. Only downside is when you takeaway they don’t give a bag so it’s quite difficult to hold if you are carrying many things - coffee takeaways are in cup holders.

Tried Plain Vanilla's cupcakes once and never liked them. Until today, I tried their tarts. Wow really delightful. The salted caramel chocolate tart was so good. Love the tart base. Will continue buying their tarts instead!!

First time at PV’s Telok Ayer outlet. We visited at 4pm on a Sat afternoon nearing closing time and it was still quite crowded - indoors seating is quite limited so we couldn’t get a seat. I got a hot cappuccino with oat milk and it was deliciously smooth and sweet. Definitely left an impression, I found myself thinking about that cuppa for the rest of the day 😆 100% satisfaction. Blueberry loaf was rly moist and buttery, tho the icing could be a tad sweet so pair it w the cake according to your own sweetness level preference!

Pleasantly surprised by the affordable mains! Generous portions of salad too. Though the drinks are pretty pricey ~$8 for the standards. Would recommend sticking to their food and cupcakes!!

I came here with my friend today and I really enjoyed the energy here. The service was great and they tended to my needs too. I really liked how comfortable one can feel in the bakery, be it on their own or with others around. The ambience of the place really made me feel peaceful and I was able to do my work there too (free WiFi!!). Also, the Christmas decorations and the Christmas songs playing really set a chill mood for us. We had the mince pie and the brownie and I truly did enjoy it. The sweetness and slight tanginess from the dried fruits in the mince pie was something I didn't realise I was missing out on. The brownie was really good too, and just the nice softness too. I will definitely come back here, on my own, with friends and with family!! Basically, Plain Vanilla is Peaceful and Vibey.

I love the bakes here specially the lemon cream tart perfect for the ice coffee i ordered. Love the ambiance although the this store is a little outdated from the other outlet of Plain vanilla. Staffs are very welcoming you’ve got free water too. That’s nice customer service. Overall experience definitely will come back to try the banana bread and the cupcakes which the all smile lady staff here said it’s one of the best. Thanks for the reco
