Coffee & dessert after a disappointing dinner across the street, 😂 So happy to see Five oars in the neighborhood Coffee was great. Our sourdough waffles order came very fast. Would have preferred fresh hot waffles but that would have extended the waiting time. Nice big airy place.. quite chill. Music is a bit loud to have nice long chats but that's our personal preference.

I visited this cozy spot for a weekend brunch and found the ambiance delightful. The food, however, left something to be desired. While the environment was inviting, the portion sizes didn't quite justify the high prices, and the dishes lacked a standout quality. I tried coffee and it was above average. On the other hand, I'd recommend avoiding the cauliflower salad as it seemed like a basic combination of ingredients without much seasoning. Given its lackluster taste, I'd suggest exploring other options on the menu to make the most of your money. One major disappointment was the service, a crucial aspect for any cafe. The staff seemed to be inattentive, making it challenging to place an order and even garnering the attention of the service team. Overall, while the environment was inviting, the food and service didn't quite meet expectations.

10/10 for ambiance. Chill and quiet place to sit and chat with friends and family. 6.5/10 for food. Ordered the rigatoni which was recommend by the staff. The wait was slightly longer as compared to what my friend ordered, and she waited for my rigatoni to arrive before eating, it was partially cold at that point of time. Could be a better experience where the food was served simultaneously. Another dish ordered was the pulled pork benedict. Combination was a little interesting, flavors did not really pair well together. Truffle fries were great, long crispy fries, not over doused with truffle oil. Would come back and have a taste of their dinner menu!

First off, LOVE that it has a pet friendly outdoors. If you are a cafe, please always have this for us!! Of course, GREAT coffee. And we loved the crab scramble - simple, delicious. Friendly waitresses always make the experience complete as well. Glad to have found a new staple place to visit with my furry best friend

A cozy and vibrant cafe tucked in the quiet neighbourhood of Siglap. Even though we visited on a weekday morning, the cafe was constantly packed and there was a queue forming near to lunchtime. We asked for sofa seats outside of the cafe, which resulted in poor service and had to wait longer to catch the attention of the waitress. Maybe they’re understaffed or focused more on the indoor patrons. Food was delicious, portions are alright. The coffee was aromatic. The dessert (waffles) they had served us the wrong dish at first, but luckily they managed to rectify it.

I live nearby at Opera Estate and Fivr Oars is one of the cafes I've heard about from others that the food was good. My Westie friends were in the East for NATAS and we were SO excited to try it finally! Was SO DISSAPPOINTED after this one visit, not a place we would return to again. We were surprised that there used to be queues but on a Saturday lunch weekend it was breeze through. Ushered in by a friendly goth looking staff member, we were excited and happy, thinking we got lucky with no queue!! Interior was nice, pleasant, but the pop music was too loud and completely mismatched the muted tones of the otherwise pretty cafe. Unfortunately, we were seated at the corner where the speakers were overhead. We tried the macaroni mentaiko for starters and found the pasta too al dente, the texture was inconsistent, some macaroni bits were harder. Very unpleasant. We commented to the staff but they just merely took the dish away without much acknowledgement. We thought it was a one-off but when another pasta dish arrived (lobster something that's rather spicy), it was the same inconsistent too al-dente and some bits (on the same piece of pasta) that's harder! Ironically, it's consistently inconsistent! Wanted to try their sourdough bread but had to order in advance. Cake counter looked pretty and we usually have desserts but after the lunch, we weren't as curious anymore. The other dish we ordered was underwhelming as well, there is better food elsewhere and aplenty in the nearby neighbourhood of Katong. Feedback to cashier while paying, also met with lacklustre response, barely a nod. I prompted, is the pasta meant to be like this? Reply: "yes".

Decent brunch place that is very spacious. Coffee - decently done but turns cold very quickly, not sure if it's because of the cup or because the air con was cold. Crab scramble eggs: pretty decent take on scramble eggs in toast, will strongly recommend this. The furikake and little salmon eggs on the top is decent and adds an added texture on top. Fried chicken and waffles: - personal opinion, the chicken needs to be marinated and seasoned more ( perhaps overnight) - chicken batter was basic but the chicken itself was tasteless - waffle and coleslaw was the carry of this dish

Great vibes and packed during lunch. Extensive menu. I ordered the sriracha chicken benedict which was grilled chicken (a bit over charred) and poached eggs on a sourdough which was good but took 20 ministers to prepare (yes, we were warned). The flat white had a nice swan latte art but wasn’t hot when it arrived. Overall a good place to meet and chill out.

Highly recommended by friends on their food. Went early on Sunday morning, around 830am. No queue. Ordered Avocado Toast, Crab Omelette and scramble eggs with toast for the 3 of us. Richness of avocado balanced by the sharp goat cheese, paired with runny egg yolk and toast… perfect! Crab omelette was really good too, not overly “crabby”… 😄 Scramble eggs was well done and paired well with the toast spread with the rich butter and jam. Very satisfying breakfast. Will be back to try their other items.

I've been coming to this spot since they first opened, and it has been my go-to place for the longest time. The service and ambiance here are truly top-notch. I love how the staff at the front of the house are always attentive and accommodating, ready to assist whenever you need something. Now, let's talk about the food. They offer this fantastic cream cheese blueberry or peach brioche, which is the perfect little pastry to kickstart the morning. Their breakfast menu is an absolute banger. I particularly adore their corn fritters, the chicken sriracha, the pork benedict and their steak and eggs (in that order). Moving on to their lunch menu, we've tried a selection of their pasta dishes, and let me tell you, they are absolutely delicious and creamy. When it comes to cafes in the east coast, there are quite a few options. However, in my opinion, this place takes the cake with their delectable food and exceptional service.

My third visit to Five Oars Coffee. Really enjoy the environment. Love the desserts there. Highly recommend to try their dessert if you haven’t already done so. Special shut out to their truffle fries. The serving was seriously huge !! The taste was spectacularly nice. Value for money ◡̈

A nice place for breakfast or brunch. Good cappuccino and I like the avocado toast except the hard bread crust. You will find a queue outside the cafe. Do bear in mind this cafe does not allow you to take your time to enjoy your food.

Really nice place! Ordered the mocha and it was really good even with lesser chocolate syrup! Had the Jamaican chicken and the vegetarian fettuccini, enjoyed both of them. I particularly like the chicken more as it was well cooked! Would come back again for sure! Take note that they have day (8.30am-5.15pm) and night menu (6-9pm).

Heard great things about this place so decided to give it a go. Was initially surprised at the Mentaiko Mac and Cheese but it was downhill from there. The bacon and hash was pretty underwhelming and I would not recommend for you to try out this dish. For the dessert, we ordered the sticky date pudding and was equally disappointed by the quality as well. Maybe will visit again but will try other dishes instead.

Went on for Saturday brunch at Five oars Ordered Bacon and hash, Salted Caramel Banana Waffles. Bacon and hash: Bacon is super fatty, to be honest felt like 60% of the Bacon was fatty. However the rosti was great(nice and crisp) paired well with the poached eggs and mushroom sauce. Salted Caramel Banana Waffles: the Waffles were slight overcooked. So it was not very chewy rather it was on the tough side. Ice cream and the carmalised Banana are great combination if the Waffles were not so overcooked. Overall will visit again. 4/5. There's still some area of improvement

There are lots of tables and the whole place feels quite cozy. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating and it’s quite comfortable outside too. Lots of food choices available but closer to closing time they only serve cakes and drinks as the kitchen is closed for them to clean up. Service is friendly and attentive and great place to have a drink after a meal also.

Large cafe situated in Siglap. We arrived around 2PM on Sunday and there was a small queue outside. Took about 10 minutes to get a table. The cafe itself is quite huge with large tables. Liked the ambience of this place. Service was pretty good too, and the atmosphere was bustling. We ordered the following : 1) Truffle Fries - Generous with the truffle, but not evenly spread. Comes with a topping of parmesan cheese. 2) Bacon and Hash Rosti - Crispy rost, served with poached eggs, bacon and unique mushroom cream on the side. Liked how the different flavours combine. 3) Pork Benedict - Sourdough bread served with poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The sourdough is coated with apple slaw, pork and caramelised onions. Slightly expensive, but was worth it!

Food was excellent. Except we had to Sent the cod fish back as its cold inside .. Service could be better like maybe check in if our food was alright after its served For lamb its great too but be prepared to wait at least 30mins for it. Thankful we ordered some starters and had 2nd serving of bread, so the last diner wasn't that famished waiting for the lamb to arrived.

Ingredients are fresh, taste good. Coffee is great, spacious cafe, dog friendly, nice ambiance, not noisy, friendly stuff. Excellent waffles but I minus 1 star because the waffles wasn’t serve hot. That’s the minus point, the kitchen could have just warmed it up slightly more

You need to scan a QR to register yourself on the waiting list. Staff were quick to get in touch with us on our table preferences and wait time. They were also very friendly, attentive and helpful! For a Staurday afternoon, dishes were served reasonably fast and not too far apart. The dishes were also well prepared. Sour dough had a nice crunchy crust and soft bread inside.

Loving the vibes of Five Oars. Coffee was good. My chicken Benedict tasted great and came with a reasonable price too, as I sometimes feel cafe food these days are overpriced. At least there’s effort to offer some more unique dishes at good value. Kudos to the team here.

The sides: mentaiko Mac and cheese, Brussels with bacon are good! I had crab scrambled egg with toast which is filling but nothing to shout about. The corn fritters are tasty though. I didn’t like the coffee as it is sour.

Giving it a 3.5stars for my first visit.service and food rates that with atmosphere at 4 stars for being a comfortable and clean cafe. Food instagrammable but taste wise subjective. Mac n cheese too salty. Guess the rosti from the bacon & hash was the best. Wouldn't visit for the price value. Otherwise the staff are pretty polite.

I am docking one Star because of the high chair experience. Avoid the high chairs! The high chair is not raised proportionally to the high table. The high table is maybe 7 cm higher than the normal table but the high chair is about twice higher than a normal chair. This means that you will be hunching when eating. The chairs are hard and not comfortable at all. Food is actually good though some stuff are a bit pricey. The Brussel sprouts have a nice char but my suggestion is to add a bit of honey or some sweet sauce before cooking them else all you're tasting is bitterness. Coffee wise, it's better hot than iced and probably better with more milk (I asked for iced cuppucino but I'm not sure if they only have flat white). My Wife ordered a got latte. The servers were friendly though it's hard to get their attention at times. Please see this as constructive feedback. It's a nice place.

Given a 3 stars is being generous already. I have to agree their coffee is good other than that. All the foods we had were mediocre. Roasted cauliflower that tastes blend even after adding in the dressing. Fish and chip portion was big however fish is lacking a lot of flavors, thankfully the fries was hot and wasn’t over cook. wagyu burger, bread is nice patty was juicy but the truffles fries were way toooo oily. 3 of us, given a small round table and we have a hard time eating cause there wasn’t enough space, told them to shift us to a slightly bigger table but was told to share table instead.

Granchio pasta was great - the pasta was al dente and the tomato crab meat sauce was light. Sticky date pudding was a little too sweet for my liking; nonetheless, when eaten together with the vanilla ice cream and hazelnuts, it felt “heavenly”. The hazelnuts balanced the sweetness of the pudding/pudding sauce. Those with a sweet tooth might enjoy this dessert.

Food portion was great and tasted great too! Had the avocado toast with good amount of avos, love it!! Coffee was good too. The waitress was nice enough to let us have a seat outside and shifted us inside as soon as a table was available during the busy brunch hours. The cafe is dog friendly and I saw a few doggos hanging in the outdoor area. Parking wise, limited lots. There is a bigger parking lot just beside the cafe. Overall, good cafe for some catch up over coffee!

Steak frites with truffles fries can be better because steak had too many ligaments on each slice making it not worth the price. But the fries are a winner! Beef burger with normal fries are great as the patty was thick and juicy. Bacon aglio olio had the right amount of ingredients and spaghetti was al dente. We had the banana waffles for desert to share and it was impressive ! Presentation was excellent, waffle wasn’t too thick and soggy at all. Enjoyed the caramelised topped banana slices. Truly a satisfying dinner with great service ! Appreciate the effort the kitchen crew put the meals together coping with the dinner crowd. Had to wait a bit for dinner but the wait crew did well in managing the customers coming in at a steady stream. Well done !

This set up is what is referred to as a well oiled machine churning out good food, excellent service and chill ambience. When u asked for a medium rare steak u get a perfect medium rare. Just perfect for a Saturday brunch.

Love that the portion sizes are quite generous and (most of) the food is actually delicious. Also a kids friendly place. We also ordered 2 types of pasta and both were cooked al dente. The pork was quite tough, we probably wouldn’t order that next time. Ended off with banana caramel waffle and was a tad sweet but sooo good. Can definitely understand why this place is super popular.

If you are looking for a reprieve from rowdy cafe ambience, this is probably one of the best cafes to hide away in, complete with excellent coffee, good grub and attentive yet unobtrusive service. I had a hot long black, intense the way I like it, and the Five Oars Waffles which boasts of a delicious combination of granola, ice cream and strawberries, with a pleasant burnt caramel (I think) syrup to drench it with. Substantial and delicious, not cloyingly sweet and just perfect for dessert lovers. Will be back if I am again in the vicinity.

Came to this place on 3 occasions: 1. Had after dinner dessert with a friend. We ordered the waffles with ice cream (sorry, no pic) and it was delicious. The waffles was nice and crispy. 2. Brunch on my own and I had the Croque Madame. The bread and egg were nicely done, although a little oily. I'm a little lactose intolerant so the cheese was a bit too much for me. But overall still good. 3. Still brunch on my own and I had the Bacon & Hash. Bacon had really good flavor and was nicely pan fried. But overall everything was too oily - the rosti, the spinach and bacon was covered in oil. The environment was nice - big open spaced, surprisingly it was not too noisy which is a common pitfall.

The cafe is really big and served good waffles! Good for small or large group and a nice place to chill in the evening. Would wanna come back again to try their food menu!

Eggs were very bland. Rosti was crispy but medium rare (uncooked the inside). Waffles were good. I love the menu, it made me very eager to try alot of things but it was sadly not as tasty for the steep price. Almost there, just need some slight improvements!

Usually v crowded but managed to get a seat! Dining duration is about an hour. Food served today not exactly up to expectations. Mac & Cheese slightly undercooked as its quite hard. Bacon & Hash took more than 25mins to be out from kitchen. Rosti wasn't seasoned at all, quite tasteless... Ice Mocha kinda bitter. Overall, not that good, not that bad...

31 May 2023: Relaxing experience and pretty quiet for a Wednesday morning brunch. Food is good, coffee is nice and a chill place to sit for chat with friends and family. The café is spacious with indoor or outdoor sitting and their service is great too. Open URA car park is nearby and it’s about a minute walk to Five Oars.

Was there yesterday for hub’s birthday brunch. There was no queue at 11am. Service was good even though they forgot to serve the waffles later. Service staff was flexible and change waffles to serve it later on the spot 👍 Food was great. Love the mushroom, scramble eggs with sour dough. Beef was well done and the waffle was the perfect finish for an enjoyable meal !

Came here on a Sunday at around 5:20pm. Had to scan the QR code to get into the waiting list. Managed to get a seat for two, 15 mins later. I had the Mentaiko fries and Five Oars Waffles along with Ice Latte and an Ice Mocha. The food was great but a little disappointed with the drinks as it tasted diluted upon serving. Love the atmosphere and good service though. Would visit again to try other dishes.

Loved the decor and spacious. Both mains were outstanding and were served hot. Crab Scramble and Atlantic Baked Eggs !!! Yum. Waffles with salted caramel was superb. Everything here deserves more than 5 stars. Keep it up.

Nice cafe in east coast. I live around and there are so many cafe in this area but Five Oars is the one most beautiful. Coffee is ok (I have very high standard of coffee, in fact, they serve decent coffee); food is so so. Will not order the chicken Benedict again. But the waffles are nice. Service is wonderful. Even it is full house today, they’re so efficient but patient. Will come again, especially after cycling.

dining here is not pleasant. waiters are just rude and not accommodating to patrons. gave me a rubbish seat that has all them waiters and customers walking up and down non-stop. feeling their stupid body wind blowing past me and occasionally getting knocked into by the waiters. when i asked if i can change seats to new tables that just came up, they were rigid and said that i could not change seats because (1) there was a wait list and (2) it would confuse their front desk. lame -.- i can snap a pic of TWO tables that are free and opened up but nobody from this “wait list” appears. and please, a confusion with their front desk can be solved by just walking over to talk to them. coffee is just meh. normal. overpriced for this quality. wouldn’t come back again.

Vongole clams a tad too salty but very tasty. Food is good with good options. We also had pork, quinoa and cauliflower appetiser. The star of dinner is the cod fish on pumpkin and rosti. Warrants a return trip.

Long queue, but that's normally a good sign here in Singapore. Had to wait 30 minutes to get a table for one but it was worth the wait. Had the Sriracha Chicken Benedict. Chicken was well seasoned and tender and poached eggs were properly cooked. High chair inside seating not comfortable but lower tables looked good. Recommended
