As a nut butter lover, I was excited to try the avocado pistachio toast (v) that's only available on weekends at Free the Robot. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the mashed avocado was creamy and flavorful. The homemade pistachio paste was a perfect balance of creamy, nutty, and not too sweet or salty. It had a hint of sweetness from the pistachios, but the sea salt balanced it out perfectly. Overall, it was a delicious and satisfying breakfast. I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a healthy and flavorful option.

A fantastic cosy place for a comforting meal 🥰 I had high expectations for this place when it was recommended by a friend. This place did not disappoint. The ambience is 10/10 and the setting is perfect for long conversations, catching up with old pals ☺️ After all that speaking, you definitely need some drinks. And may I recommend their $6 “Free the Robot Signature Hot” coffee. Just $1 more than their regular hot coffee, they add coconut oil to the cuppa. How good is it? It’s bloody amazing 🤯 The coffee aroma is accentuated and the coffee tastes and feels fuller ☕️ Will highly recommend if you are looking to get coffee! Once you’re hungry, do try their Blue Swimmer Crab Pasta. The crab tastes real fresh and they are not stingy with the flesh. The pasta is great and I will definitely get it again 🍝🦀 The lady boss here was real nice and helpful when we asked to buy coffee beans. She also told us more about, Theodore the dog. Will definitely be back to try their cocktails 😊 and to give Theodore more head scratches 😬

The service here is unlike most in Singapore. The waiter sits and talks with you about what you’d like to experience flavor wise and then let’s you know if they have fresh ingredients to deliver on the flavor promise. Great coffee, best bacon I’ve had in months of travel around Asia and truly first rate service. Will be back many times. Thanks, Ernest!

This is a very cute little restaurant and one of a kind interior decor. Day time they serve coffee tea and food for lunch. And it’s called Free the robot. Night time it turns into a restaurant car serving dinner and cocktails. I went during lunch and was told I was limited to only one hour. I find that a little short as they take some time for the food to serve. Nevertheless the food was delicious. I had grilled chicken on rice and onsen eggs. Though the portion is extremely small for $26 plate. I also had the cold pressed coffee that’s pressed over 28 hours and that was a delight. Strange taste at first but the after taste was really unique.

A friend said that this place is a resto by day, and bar at night 😃 it's a bit tricky to come here for first timer, but I'd say this is indeed a hidden gem! I ordered a spaghetti with a yolk on top of it (lol sorry I forgot the name of the dish!!)~ al dente and the flavor is rich and it tastes perfect in my mouth! Coffee is also good 👌 staffs are very friendly and place is sooo aesthetic! Perfect one for bruch 🥘🥗🥙

Loved the whole experience especially with Eugene checking in on our table occasionally. Ambience was nice and we had a hearty lunch. Prawn pasta wasn't very salty but well balanced umami which I really like. No photos but the Black Sesame Latte with oatmilk was really really good. 10/10 will come again.

Get the beef burger!!! Very juicy, which makes eating it very messy as well, but I really enjoyed it, nicely seasoned, I do wish the meat was a little more char grilled and a little more tomato, but overall the beef burger is awesome. The fish and chips is crispy and clean, meat is flaky, so if you like crispy and flaky fish and chip, this is to die for, the fries was a little too big in portion for us but who wouldn’t like to have more. I enjoyed the chai latte very much as well. Atmosphere is good, service is fast, would definitely visit here again.

We ordered their FTR signature and Kuro Goma Latte. The tastes of the coffee and the goma latte are not even strong. The environment is good, well decorated but the menu are slightly pricey and definitely the price does not justify the drink.

Really amazing ambience and food! You are greeted by this very interesting seating system of ringing the door bell and once you're inside it's like you've been invited into a bougie haven! (The pictures speak for themselves) The staff are also so friendly and warm... We ordered the Blue Swimmer Crab Pasta, Big Brekky, Squid and Egg Brioche & Fish Tacos. For drinks we got a Iced White & Black as well as Immuni-Tea. Overall everything was great! The highlights were the Blue Swimmer Crab Pasta (Flavour Burst), Squid and Egg Brioche (Interestingly Irresistible) and Fish Tacos (Juicy explosions)!!! Without a doubt the coffee and tea was also great. 100% will recommend to others for the experience! And 110% going to revisit!!!

We were recommend to try dessert that was not on the menu! It was a waffle with a choice of 2 ice creams. Had the pistachio and Vanilla flavor! The combination of the oats, berries and nuts was well balance of crunchiness, sweet and acidity. Definately will want to have it the next time when I come back. Have it in your main menu!!

We! Love! Good! Service! Manager Theo was busy running the shop and welcoming customers ever so efficiently 🐕 Game changer was when Ernest prepared a dish specially for my Mo even though it was already sold out and won her heart with a surprise kuro goma latte 🖤 This place beats Sarnies or any other ~cafe~ along the stretch it was beautiful lovely friendly and very satisfying, sitting listening and absorbing the sounds music people ambience 💕💕

“Food exceeded expectations” We picked this place for a lunch on Friday as my colleagues wanted something nice to cap off the week. And I’m glad to report that we all left Free the robot with happy tummies. The menu was quite extensive and more serious than the typical cafe grub you’d find along the street. The FTR burger that I ordered was well cooked, and the option to add on another patty was much appreciated. The coffee with cola drink that I picked was really well rounded as well. And to cap a perfect lunch off, we ordered a round of espresso martinis, which tasted amazing as well. The service staff were all very attentive and did not have the typical scowl you’d expect for restaurants along this stretch. Come try it if you’re looking for a lunch place that’s less crowded but still has amazing food.

One of my favorite cafes in Singapore. Love the atmosphere, coffee and the avocado pistachio toast -- one of the prettiest avocado toasts I've ever seen. They do have vegetarian options but very limited vegan options.

Lovely cosy cafe with unique furnitures - love their wooden benches. Service was fast in my opinion considering that they have so limited manpower. Signature coffee is disappointing, was expecting a bit more flavour. Food wise, nothing impressive. Probably the thing worth highlighting is their beef sandwiches. Overall service was good until the last part so it really depends who’s the one serving you.

superb place for brunch! in fact my favourite brunch spot in Singapore. their asian fusion pasta was incredibly delicious, bursting into a myriad of flavours in my mouth. (cmg frm someone who doesnt order asian fusion pasta on menu). mala prawn pasta was spicy, coated in thick seafood broth. the blue swimmer crab pasta was tomatoey with a little tangy taste, elevating the dish overall. FTR signature coffee was mid, nothing special. ambience was so vibey, alm like a bali in a cafe.

Excellent spot to get to know your date. A cosy interior with eclectic details and just the right ambience (not too loud). Food and beverage options are a plenty, and we had a truly good time. For late lunch/snack, my husband and I shared a tasty salmon ceviche nachos and blue crab pasta. We each had a latte but were recommended by cafe owner Ernest to go for the double shot piccolo, which he so generously offered us for free. Other than the freebie, which is just service standard gold, staff were consistently friendly and attentive. Added to the food and vibe, this is a spot that we will come back to!

There’s just something about this place that keeps me coming back. Maybe it’s the welcoming staff, or maybe the excellent coffee. It could also be the good food and great playlist. Or it could be all of the above. Hearing how the staff interact with customers is also one of the reasons why I love this place so much – it’s more like hanging out like a friend’s place than visiting a commercial cafe.

All thanks to the loveliest Eugene and Fiona, for a great start to the weekend! The pancakes was deliciously made by Eugene and decorated prettily! 💕 We really truly enjoy our time at FTR

Haven’t been here for a long time and it was a pleasant surprise to see a much more diverse menu now. Enjoyed the weekend brunch here as well as the ‘build your brunch’ option. The bite size fish tacos were definitely a winner, but the scrambled eggs were rather mushy and could be improved. The iced latte was also rather harsh on initial taste but grew more balanced with dilution over time. Really digging the eclectic decor and bar vibes, as well as the cute resident dog mascot. Kudos to the friendly attentive service too. Would drop by again for a laid back brunch in the CBD area!

A hole-in-the-wall cafe with a cosy interior, impressive bar & cute murals of robots & Telok Ayer shophouses! In fact, we might have passed it without noticing if the window wasn’t open. Had the Big Brekky, with a toasty multigrain bread & creamy scrambled eggs, Matcha latte was small but not bad (heard it’s sweetened with honey). Overall abit pricey but guess u’re paying for the ambience. IG @pingguo301

Amazing vibe, interior, and food! We especially enjoyed the mala prawn pasta (each strand of pasta was well coated with rich mala seafood stock), and “squid game” (tender grilled squid atop sunny side up and soft fluffy brioche bun, with seafood stock on the side). The tiramisu latte cocktail is also another highlight, it came with a sponge finger to dip in the cocktail 🙌 We will definitely be back to free the robot 🤖

Ive been visiting free the robot over the years and I just wanna say that their standards has not dropped & this is the best philly cheese steak sandwhich I've had in singapore. The portion is quite big & I would suggest sharing if you and ur friend have a small appetite. They're also known for their coffee and its so well done and very aromatic. It's one of the best flat whites I've had in singapore. Visiting tip: Get there right when they're opened because the shop fills up really quick. We were the 3rd customer at 11AM and our food did take about 30mins to arrive, by 11.30AM the shop was at max capacity!
They do have a brunch menu too! If you fancy something else.

Lovely ambience, but overpriced drinks. 45min of table time if food is not ordered. Dirty Chai Latte ($9) My drink was rather acidic, sour, slightly bitter, and with the chai spices strong, and straight in my face. Could do with better quality milk.

Good coffee, good food and service just as good. We were seated outside but were given just as much attention whenever needed. Had the crab pasta and fried chicken waffle. Crab pasta was fragrant while the waffle was average. Plus point : they are dog friendly !

OMG!!!!! Their services is......... Awesome!!!!! We Ordered The Prawn Pasta (mala) and blue seinmer crab pasta. The taste is fantastic and just nice for those who love to try new way of cooking of pasta. Also order FTR signatur coffee and white. To be honest is really nice and the best part is ... if you knw what you want on your coffee they will try to customise for you... Meet the baris-ta/tender, Gareth I requested for Latte martinis (not in the menu)... and I am flabbergasted with its nicely blend and the taste is above my expectation. Kudos...

A returning customer who absolutely love the interior design and ambience of the cafe/bar. A fair choices of food selection be it brunch/ lunch menu. Service by all the waitstaff was amazing 10/10. Shoutout to the tall guy who recommended the pasta for mains and the fish for appetiser! Good quality is good. And to the friendly barista who took his initiative to check on my coffee! Thanks for your services guys! :) Loved everything except the part where each guests HAVE TO order a drink. I will order a drink of course, I just don't like/want to be "forced" for the mandatory drink. 2 mains, 1 appetiser, 2 drinks for $98++, on the higher end of cafe price.

Tried for brunch and loved the ambience and food! We tried a tiramisu latte ($15) - which is a latte with rum and frangelico, as well as a biscuit - and it was very good! The regular latte ($5) was also nice but on the small side. The brunch pancakes ($20) were well cooked and decorated - we really enjoyed them. The music was awesome and the service was pretty friendly - I’ll definitely try it for drinks in the evening.

Lovely experiences and Innovative flavours. I enjoyed the tenderness of the beef cheeks and subtle flavour combi with red wine. French toast with squid is a must try. The seafood sauce was so delicious they you won’t able to stop the bread with it. Mala prawn pasta was nice balanced with spiciness and the sauce. I was spontaneously trying the newly created sesame latte. It was so tasty. Attentive service and suburb chilling ambiance. They have unexpected creative daily specials so don’t be shy to ask. Highly recommended!

Lovely cafe with great food and top notch customer service!! Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty packed. Thankfully, given our small party size of 2, we were given a table fairly quickly. My friend and I came in with a bagel craving but didn’t see any on the menu, so we asked the staff if they happened to have any. To our surprise, the owner very kindly said he could customize something for us - so we ended up with a smoked salmon bagel and a philly cheese steak bagel. Really like how the blueberries in the bagel added a touch of sweetness to contrast the rich and savory flavors of our main “protein” 😊🥯 Loved how the owner saw us taking shots of our bagels and decided to take a stab at it too 😂 Thank you for the awesome hospitality, we’ll be back for sure!
