In love with their indoor vibe and decoration. It so comfy and vintage. For their coffee, nothing special. Just a normal coffee they had here. Nonetheless, there’s some special drink, which called the matcha and white magic and is served in a bottle. The drink was really good! You may go for their dessert as well. If you don’t know which one to pick, Ask the receptionist. They happy to recommend to you :)

Everything is overpriced and over-hyped. The bosses are also getting too complacent that business is still doing very well during this soft lock-down period. Logistics department is pretty screwed and they don't do preparations till the last minute. Even if you placed an advanced order, they'd still go according to the delivery time. I can't believe they pride themselves to be one of the top cafes in SG. I see other cafe bosses doing their delivery rounds while SR's owners are just answering calls on their phones while relying on "available drivers" when they could've clearly delivered the food themselves. Backtrack a little - I've heard much about this place through a friend, who heard much of this place through IG and influencers. Apparently, they're well-known for the coffee. I decided to give it a go as a treat to myself. And so; 1. I placed an order online a few days ago for today's order (2-3 days in advance) to arrive at 4 - 6pm today. 2. At 4.15pm, I received a call from SR telling me one of my orders was missing as it was only available elsewhere (Wakey Wakey). They asked if I would take a replacement. I declined and asked for a refund. They then told me they'd have it delivered over to them with the rest of my orders. --> shouldn't my order be prepared before the delivery window? --> is their logistics not coping well? 3. At 5.30pm, no calls from SR and I got worried. I gave them a call and realised they have not sent my order over as "we couldn't get any drivers". --> Shouldn't you give your customers a courtesy call to inform them that orders will be delivered late? --> SR returned the call only after I asked them if my order was coming 4. At 6pm, they said they finally found a driver and would arrange for it to be delivered by 7pm. --> Only the drinks and dessert were delivered. 5. Called the owner. She said she will deliver my dinner personally but deleted the message and said she got a Grab driver to deliver my dinner to me instead. I got my full order at 8.15pm. My order was late. Not for an hour. But for 2-4 hours. Lastly, the food was highly underwhelming. + Mentaiko Salmon lacks Mentaiko --> crunch was pretty good though but overall very very dry + For the price I paid for, I got very dry and thin slices of mushrooms (2 pieces only) + a bunch of pickled vege in my mentaiko don bowl + Dessert was ok. Coffee/Choc was ok. --> not worth the high price For such a highly raved cafe, I expected better. 1 star for your eventual effort. Really unfortunate.

A cafe with really chill vibes with industrial chic interior decor. The portion was alright but breakfast was quite run-of-the-mill, didn’t remember it to be flavourful. I wish they gave a little more cherry tomatoes and potato pieces. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Coffee good as always. Pretty pricey in general as they charge GST and service charge.

Please do not bother to order for delivery from here. Had to reach out MULTIPLE times before they were even able fulfil the delivery. I received an email saying the delivery has been completed TWO days before the scheduled delivery. I have tried reaching out to them on email and they do not reply. Even tried calling them but nobody picked up the phone. Understand that it’s a trying time for F&B but please don’t take in orders if you’re not able to fulfill them. In the end, I managed to reached them on social media and the order was still delivered, one day after the scheduled date. Wasted unnecessary time, money and experienced terrible service.

This has been an unfortunate experience for a highly anticipated first-time visit with my 3 friends. Food: We selected mostly from the brunch menu, the signature Strange Breakfast, Eggs and Toast, Pan-roasted Chicken Breast. The highlights were the truffled fries and scrambled eggs. The drinks were average, mostly what you would expect from a regular café. Generally, it was quite underwhelming despite the reviews. Price: On the higher side ($16-$21) considering the quality of food Service: I did not make a reservation so the service staff was kind to allocate us a table when it was available. However, we were allocated to a small table and only when all our food came and had no space to put anymore did the staff suggest us to another table which had been available. The staff taking our orders forgot to order our fries but she admitted her mistake and quickly placed the order when she was alerted. Unfortunately, all my 3 friends and I suffered from diarrhoea within 1-2 hours after our brunch visit. It is a strange reunion when we found out later that our experience came to this collective end. We won't be visiting again but I sincerely hope that the café will review this for future customers as this is not acceptable.

Service is prompt and good. Toilet is very clean and pleasant. Like the fact that they are generous with the serviettes! Good cafe atmosphere and relatively spacious. Food (brunch) wise, latte's design is cute but it tastes a little too bitter (too much caffeine). Ordered smoked salmon with 2 poached eggs and it tastes very normal. Fell below our expectations due to the good reviews. Other than that, avocado smoothie is a rave. Comparable to SF juice. Recommended! :) Portion is general but still, quite overpriced. Bill came out to be $58. Could have gone to better restaurant for dining.

Me and my wife visited here. My food arrived and my wifes food arrived 30mins later, which was a tiny salad. Apparently the chef only cooks in batches, if someone else does not order same dish, you could be waiting a while, selfish customer service. The food itself, very average not much taste extremely simple and bland. Visit here at your own risk.

Felt like I went there a few years too late. Heard about this place after their "Save a Stranger" campaign, which was launched to help raise funds for their cancer-stricken head chef. Coffee was good. Food was light and healthy. Love the hot chocolate too.

Their waffles are just so damn tasty! Wish I had a second stomach to try a few more ! Give it 3 stars as service is poor (business is too good I guess?) and the BGM is quite loud, feel like walking in a daytime club.

Below average at best. Expensive and not very good. Ordered their crab cake. It didnt have a strong crab taste and it was oily with each bite as though it was swimming in oil. The waffles was okay. But not worth the price.

OVERALL 6/10 Food 6/10 Service 7/10 Value 5/10 Vibe 6/10 The coffee is decent (I had a magic). Eggs on toast was well done, but a bit boring to look at. Açai bowl was disappointing. It looked very dry and small, and it wasn't properly defrosted when it was served. Taste wasn't very fresh compared to others I've had. Service was ok, but our waitress was so quiet I couldn't hear her speak. Friendly enough. Value is middle range and I've had better quality for the same price elsewhere. Vibe/atmosphere is decent. Would I go again? Probably not by choice.

Was here on a Saturday around 1130am, surprisingly not crowded and we got a good seating. Spanish friend loves the spacious sofa seat and air conditioning, I like that it's warm and brightly lit. Service staff was attentive to my request for less sweet matcha latte, soy mocha was aromatic and just nice to our taste. Buttermilk waffle was awesomely crispy and fluffed. Didn't like the baked egg; it was too much spices and oily. The avocado smash toast was great. Love the bread. Will be back here again.

Headed to Strangers’ Reunion for tea. Had their Lover’s Rose tea, with 2 of their waffles (of which names I have forgotten). The tea was nice and so were the waffles. But what blew me was the staff that served me from the point of me entering through the doors, till the time I left. They were attentive, and pleasant to talk to, and have a short convo on how the food was. I hope they keep this up. Although I would personally place them on the pricier tier, I was served with good food and drinks, and a suitable atmosphere to bring friends/loved ones just for a catch up.

This is a joint I frequent. Good coffee (that’s a priority) and waffles (try the strawberry maceration). Nothing but good reports of this place. On hungry days the truffle fries are a treat.

Loved this place, quirky interior designs, clean toilets. Ordwred the big breakfast and fathers sandwich. Both were excellent, quality ingredients used, very tasty. Reminds me of the brunch outlets when I was living in Australia. Keep up the good work guys !

Average experience for food. But good coffee and nice ambience. Good to go for a quick bite since it is not so crowded as more hyped locations like common man and tion Bahru bakeries.

Nice cafe serving great coffee and brunch. Few plant-based/vegan/vegetarian options are available. Double check with the staff on details.

  • 4/5 Joshua N. 3 years ago on Google
It's decent good but for some strange reason, the atmosphere is quite dull and the folks running the store doesn't seem excited or enthusiastic. If anything, the service pale in stark contrast with the neighbour k&k cafe. What's a little disturbing is they charge for double shot so it's not like other boutique stores which comes with by default. It is worth a visit especially when there is no queue!

Really disappointed. The drinks got cold real quick; cup weren't warmed before hand. I passed by the kitchen and saw that my waffle was handled bare hand, being trimmed by the sides. Of course if the preparer had sanitized himself completely, it is acceptable but nonetheless it could have been done differently. The waffles.. were hard and bristled the insides of my mouth. It is no longer crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The place used to be run by people who were passionate about their culinary flair. Now it is simply a place ran by employees serving up food that a robot can make better. I no longer recognize this place and it is with utter sadness and disappointment that I have to pen this here :(((

Coffee and waffle are both not bad, although can't taste the 2014-championship . Service was good, friendly staff. Could have earned 4 starts here but due to one major reason I had to minus two (stars): when I asked for take-awaybfor the leftover food(waffle), they gave me a plastic container of a lunch box size to put in the ONE spoon of maple syrup........

Surprisingly, this cafe scaled down. I manage to get my waffle. Maybe it was the same. Waffle, but the feel it different. Waffle. 👍👍👍

Remains a place where you get what you pay for - quality food, good service and a nice ambience. Not too crowded but advisable to make a reservation just to be sure. The Milo crumble with caramelized banana is still my favorite.

Excellent coffee from this well-established roaster. Default for the flat white is a single shot while the magic is a double shot. This latest cup of magic had a robust, very balanced chocolaty and fruity flavour, medium body and a great aftertaste. The latte art was outstanding.

cafe has downsized since. Not comfortable as tables too close & food was too salty. Wouldn’t pay the price for this quality and experience.

Coffee was good. But service from the barista was really bad. Asked politely to follow up on our order as we seen others after us get served. Barista with black cap pointed to cup and said “it’s coming up” in an arrogant tone.

Had the waffles with Greek yoghurt and fruits with chai latte. Waffles were really fluffy and the combination with yoghurt, fruit, and syrup was great.

Strangers’ Reunion has a really comfortable vibe, like you want to stay there for as long as you want. The smell of the dishes going out of the kitchen and freshly brewed coffee will leave you excited to order. However though, my plate seems underwhelming. I ordered the egg toast ($8.90) with scrambled eggs and sourdough. I added sautéed spinach (+$2.50) and a sausage (+$4). First of all, the egg and toast dish alone seems really less for a $8.90-dish. The sautéed spinach is also portioned really small. The only saving grace in my plate is the sausage. It tasted good and perfectly cooked.

We tried the strawberry maceration and original with vanilla ice cream. The waffles did not have much flavour on their own but with the ice cream and toppings -- simply delectable. The sweet of the ice cream combined with the crisp of the waffle here somehow beats all other ice cream and waffle places I have tried. Despite being located down a quite road near outram park, they were fully packed when we went at an off-peak hour.

It’s always hard to resist getting a cup of their magic. Their black coffee are also super yummy! And of course their truffle fries need no introduction, every other table is happily munching on them. The only qualm I have is that the music is tooo loud, doesn’t make for a place for having conversations coz everyone is shouting above the loud music. But otherwise, a cafe I would return to many times.

Love this place for its food and drinks. Service is swift but impersonal. Their array and quality of waffles are great, their breakfast options are incredible and they don't try too hard to make something good and stay true to originals. They are a tad expensive and the vibe is aloof, but I'll take it because I love their food and beverages a lot. A lot.
