Every single dish was excellent. And they have reasonably priced drinks to go along with it. Forgot to take a pic of the sake we had, it was good as well. We ordered double portion of the fried octopus to go along with our drinks, it was really delicious. Thumbs up on the service too! Definitely a place I’ll be back with friends to try out different dishes. Edited (July 2022): Back here again. Food and service still pretty awesome. I would say 5/5.

Boruto has become one of my favorite modern izakayas. Since my first visit, I was pretty wowed by their food and affordable happy hour drinks — highballs, beers and sake for less than $10 each. I’ve since gone back 2 more times since then with other groups, so we’ve managed to try a good range on the menu My top faves include: -mentaiko fries with generous amounts of sauce (my friend got his own personal serving) - Sole karage which was deep fried to perfection. Even the bones and display are edible and super delicious! -pulled pork - bite sized deliciousness but a tad too small!

Visited Boruto on a weekday night for a birthday gathering. As it was a rather cosy sake bar, we made advanced reservation for a group of 7 pax. For sharing, we had some mains and some sides such as the mushroom pizza, pork chop, uni lobster pasta, cold inaniwa udon, ebi maki, ebi popcorn, mentaiko fries, tako wasabi, charcoal karaage and seafood sakamushi. Every dish was pretty interesting but the crowd’s favourite would be the pork chop and the seafood sakamushi. The pork chop was tender and juicy while the seafood sakamushi was fresh and full of umami. They had interesting selection of cocktails, sake and mocktails. They also had jugs of sake cocktails for sharing (about 4 glasses). There was no complimentary dessert or cake so we ordered one dessert for the birthday girl. Total bill came up to about $455 for 7 pax.

Food was surprisingly very good and I was impressed!! I loved both the pasta dishes my frds ordered and they were done perfectly. Right amount of sauce and seasoning, flavorful yet not overwhelming. If I must find fault, potion of some items can be small… Cos they were so good I wanted more.. Well done!

Great food. Only had sashimi tapas. Hope they could extend it to a full sashimi menu. Sashimi scallops were so good. Great variety of sake. One of the few Japanese restaurants with great quality and reasonable price. Really enjoyed the night.

Went on a week day evening with a group of friends. Not impressed with the food, generally too salty to our liking we were thirsty even before leaving the restaurant . Oyster is small and doesn’t taste the freshness it should be. Happy hour liquor is good draw and I do enjoy the crab salad out of all the orders. Environment is fine but staff were not attentive.

Came here for bday dinner on a weekend ... very quiet hence thought service could be better. Many of the recommended posted previously are no longer available. Music is too loud and not kids friendly but the staff are kind enough to turn down the volume. Food is ok but over priced.

Really delicious dishes! Come with an open mind - every item on the menu is a combination of multiple cuisines and influences, and they’re all excellently done. It can be hard to even guess what the dishes will taste like until you order them, but just trust the team and order a range of items. There was a pizza that was a cross between Thai crabmeat omelette, Singapore chilli crab, and a thin crust pizza - just awesome. The sake chicken was another standout - moist, juicy, and flavourful. The highballs were ok (not great), and there are just 2 beers. No wines, but there is a sake menu. Also there is a selection of cocktails which we didn’t try. This is an izakaya, so the ambience is casual. Reservations are records this is a small place. Service is ok but mains come out at different times with long gaps in between. Looking at the other reviews, it seems the menu does seem to change from time to time, so not every item here might be available when you visit. But that also means there’s more to discover. Pricing seems reasonable given the quality of food. Will be back!

This is my second time here because I was craving for the mushroom truffle pasta. Service staff was attentive and friendly as always. The 10/10 promo is value for money despite the “smaller portion” yet so much effort is being put into the plating. My only feedback is the scallop dish was overwhelmed by the chilli sauce, other than that all dishes were great. See you next month as I’m definitely coming back for more!

Took their free flow sake promotion, Service was prompt and food was great but could’ve had couple more dishes added in for the price we paid. However, the free flow was only 1.5hrs, felt pretty rushed..

Very interesting Modern Japanese inspired fusion cuisine. Dishes are inventive and fairly unique. Boruto takes a page from several classic dishes and turned them on their heads to create something entirely new. While not all the dishes may suit your fancy, I do recommend giving them a shot as you don't see such dishes elsewhere.

Best place to chill after work. Friendly and attentive servers, food are decently delicious! Can feel the owner put in a lot of effort in their menu and a wide ranges of alcohol! Certainly will visit again. Cheers!!

Cold angel hair pasta, Mentaiko fries both were surprisingly outstanding. Ordered other dishes but would like to try more our next visit. Sake was served very cold- good selection. It was a very enjoyable dinner. Service staff were attentive and friendly.
