A nice place to spend an afternoon, especially for parents who want to impart some National Education onto their primary school level kids. Overall a fun place but some exhibits need to be better maintained. Will be good if there are more guides who can guide the visitors on how to operate some of the exhibits properly, especially the games exhibits.

Love this place that offers bunch of informative activities for everyone, specially for kids. There’s a museum that showcases Singapore’s history and culture, and a Science museum that is so interactive, you should come and try their cool science experiments and inventions. There’s a restaurant that serves local foods at affordable prices and big servings.

This is a great place for families. Visited here on school holiday/Saturday. Surprisingly there is not much queue, 4D and 5D rides were fun, the cinema is clean and now showing Jurassic and Top Gun. The history tour combined of interactive elements provides a lot of easy to digest information to the young generation. From history of Singapore, invasion of Japan, key events along the country development, future ahead of us and many more. You can easily spend half a day here with your kids.

Very educational and the activities catered for the young and old . Visited here again . This time, we tried the laser tag and the XD Theatre and watched a short movie on SQ117 . All were fun . The staff are kind and always make our visit a memorable one .

One could easily spend half a day here and it’s suitable for family trips as well. There is a permanent exhibit detailing history of singapore similar to the time capsule at Flyer. A good selection of indoor activities including 4D rides, escape room, laser tag and a cinema. The screen at the theatre is huge and tickets are economically priced. Outdoor activities include the highly informative SAFTI bus tour (impressive facility, feels like a university campus tour), paintball and peddle boat ride. There is cafe (Wild Thyme) with economic prices food and drinks options. Also, an automated Starbucks machine.

Excellent place to visit if you want to know some basic Singapore history and war occupation documents. They did a completely renovation in 2020 during pandemic and only open recently in Oct 2020. The exhibition now is so much better than last time, plenty of interaction. And yet, this is only half of it, there is another half to be completed Q3 this year. They also added escape room and other fun facilities, good place for people to spend time with their families.

Interesting & informative Safti bus tour! Most exhibitions (except for the 4D ride) are free and looked much better with interactive areas after renovation. The food at cafe has also improved greatly!

so much fun having a Saturday noon over at discovery centre after the place is revamped. Went to “ Through the Lens of Time” as this is free admission for Singaporean/PR. Took lots of Insta worthy and interactive activities such as become the news reporter, download the app and there is a virtual introduction of each location... so quite nice. We spent almost half a day there. There are XD theatre, cinema, laser tag, paint balls and escape room available too but all these activities are chargeable. sandbox <VR game) is not ready yet, still under renovation. Some colouring for kids too and is free:) haha I want to go for the Coloring but was kinda shy :p because I am not kids anymore haha

Maybe it was just wrong timing, but our visit to the SDC was quite underwhelming. It seemed like the place needed a refresh, and there just wasn't much to see or experience. The place was pretty empty and only filled up at the area outside the theater when it was closer to the movie screening time. My daughter is also too young to be allowed in the activities, so maybe she'll have a more enjoyable time there when she's older. The Science Center is not too far away, but definitely a much more fun experience for families.

After attending the Singapore Experiential Visit conducted by Mr Meng Pong, gave me a deeper insight of Singapore. Learning the history left behind from our forefathers and the meaning of each building built. I like this trip as it has a mixture of hands-on activity and talk. Hopefully in the future, there would be hands-on or a tour in the army camp. On top of that, I would like to say Mr Meng Pong is knowledgeable and professional to what he’s sharing. He’s dedicated to delivering his knowledge to us. Thank you for that Mr Meng Pong. Do take care.

We had a blast playing the laser tag game here in Discovery Center, Black lake laser battlefield! The person in charge, Freddy, was fantastic, he explained everything to us clearly and heightened the fun for us with his great personality! The 7 of us had the whole room to ourselves and we had the first 5 mins in the solo deathmatch where we get to practice with the equipment, then a 10 mins team deathmatch where we battle it out amongst ourselves! It was an awesome experience overall :)

Great place to visit with family. Ideal for children who are 3+ . The restaurant provides good food at reasonable prices , the Disney movie is a must watch and the pedal boat experience was wow. Really nice SAFTI tour as well. All in all a great investment of a day to understand more about Singapore and experience some fun insights with family.

Visited this place with friends. It was impressive as how well the centre was designed to provide history of Singapore as well as environmental/political awareness to the nationals/visitors. The interactive sessions were very helpful and fun. Spacious for the kids to run around. Will visit again in future.

The new permanent exhibition gives people an immersive experience, where personal stories annotate the part on the Japanese occupation. The personal stories on the cable car rescue in 1983 was also a good chance to learn more. Worth a visit despite the location.

Nice place with some of the exhibits a little dated. Not much CG. Also there are upgrades coming soon. June 2021. So will be waiting for it. In the mean time. Come and explore but not just the free stuff but the others like 4D and the cinema.

I was shopping at Shop@SDC. I wanted to buy one of their merchandise , which was a shirt. Trying out different sizes and looking for which one might fit me. Meanwhile, while I was looking through, the store retailers approached me without having to ask them for some assistance or help. They helped me to find the right size and even provided me with a new set of shirt. Very approachable, understandable and loved the customer service!

A place to discover more about the nation. There's this new exhibition on Covid-19, a simple exhibition, with just the right amount of information, on the journey the nation has gone through in managing and fighting the pandemic.

First time here after renovation , glad that they are opened even during this CNY season . We explored the Permanent exhibits gallery - through the lens of time and walk through singapore history . Also did a recording of us live of being a news broadcaster ! Had our lunch and dinner at the Wild Thyme cafe . Love their herbal chicken and aglio olio but don’t order the fish and chips . The cafe also allow us to play games inside for additional $5 per pax ! Will be back again !

Located in a secluded part of Singapore, but just 8-10 minutes from Joo Koon MRT, SDC is home to a variety of different activities, from paintball to pedal boating to laser tag. It's main attraction is its permanent exhibition, a visual representation of Singapore's history, with special emphasis on the Japanese Occupation. The gallery is dark and the atmosphere is incredible. The design of the galleries are extremely creative from the moment you enter the exhibit. For lunch, hop over to the cafe located in the building that has a variety of different cuisines and includes a minds cafe where board games can be loaned and played while you eat. All in all, this is a venue you won't be able to completely experience in a day. For the full breakdown of activities you can take part in in SDC, hop over to their webpage, where you can buy tickets to the various venues from the comfort of your home. Oh, and there is a bus that takes you back to Joo Koon in 1 stop when you decide to leave, exhausted:)

The gallery of singapore’s history is unique and spectacular. It’s so much better than bicentennial fort canning. The shows are great and interesting. Only a small little exhibit was open - not child friendly too because it was relatively dark. I saw a few young kids who were there who wanted to be carried. SAFTI bus tour wasn't bad, tour guide was interesting and gave good insights into the camp. I didn't try any other activities there cuz they were more for children of maybe 7 and above.

Started off with the somewhat expensive but fun escape room experience (we opted for the Research Lab as it seems to be the most family-friendly. We had our 8-year-old with us.) Then had lunch at the Wild Thyme Cafe and visited the exhibition, and pedal boating afterwards. Overall a fun experience for the fam!

A nice place to learn many things about Singapore , there are many entertainments like Gallery, IWERKS theatre, XD theatre, Pedal boats, SAFTI bus tour, Black lake facility, and etc.. Exhibit gallery is free for permanent residences and citizens and we can know about the past of Singapore , SAFTI bus tour is only available on weekends and public holidays. It is a nice place to go with your friends and family, I have went here more than twice with my family and I completely enjoyed a lot. Mainly I loved the SAFTI bus tour which leads into the SAFTI Military Institute.

Come to Singapore Discovery Centre for the cinema. Watch a block buster movie at a lower price compared to GV, Cathay or Shaw chain of cinemas. Tickets typically at $7.50 each. Disadvantage is that it is a little out of the way in Jurong West area. If staying in the West and driving can just park and walk 100 meters to SDC building. Another disadvantage is that there is only 1 large hall and hence not much choice in timings or movies. On the other hand, it is spacious and those who like to maintain social distance with others will be pleased.

We had a fun filled day at the Singapore Discovery Centre where we watched a heart warming movie at the iWerks theatre about a wolf and a lion who were separated from their native land and grew up together like brothers since they were pups. My two little girls also designed and drew their own tote bag by the lake, thanks to wonderful weather during sunset. Certainly will be visiting again because there are always new activities going on at the SDC

There is nothing interesting for children. closed shoes are required in separate entertainment rooms, and why not supply an alternative like disposable shoes, socks or something else? Why are they not warned in advance on the official website? Another resentment because of a couple of centimeters of my child was not started to play further. My spouse and I were very upset that the employees did not have any loyalty for children. You still have few people there, clients would come at least to start something, and not just stand and look at my children. The staff had nothing to offer! I do not advise, just pay for the parking and that's it!

Good portion of Hainan curry chicken rice for 5.50, even though the chicken breast meat was tough Chicken olio spaghetti was okay but portion too small for $6. Pudding is the small cup top right for 1.50

Inside the Permanent Exhibits Gallery, the exhibit seem to be quite dim and it was difficult to view some information from the displays. I had to move closer to view it. Please brighten up the lights in the gallery

Great place, but cafeteria had very very bad service, 1 can of drink can take 15mins to serve, just a empty ceramic cup with a metal spoon (coffee still had to self serive from a coffee machine) took 40mins to serve. Whats the cause?? Only 1 chef -_-

Accessible by public transport. Stop at Joo Koon MRT Station and take a short walk. Covered pathway except for crossing Upper Jurong Road. Entrance fee applies. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents go in for free. Free bus tour of SAFTI Institute which was a pleasant surprise. Certain building structures has some significance. Even the SAFTI emblem has some significance. Exhibits are informative and it's on the Singapore History and the need for our own armed forces. Guess it's for instilling patrotism. There is also a theatre comparable to cinemas. Pay $7.00 for a same show in any regular cinema. About 100 capacity. Worth a short visit as it is near to Fairprice Hub and Decathlon which is next to Joon Koon MRT Station.

Wonderful place to have fun and learn about Singapore’s history. Staff and guides are friendly and engaging. They have pivoted well amidst restrictions from COVID-19 to offer online versions of their attractions.

The main exhibition shares about the Singapore story from its very beginning all the way till post-independence. Learnt a lot about Singapore's history. However, I believe that there is a need to refurbish and also upgrade as the exhibition has been the same for many years. One suggestion is to make it more interactive.

I had a great time at Singaore discovery center with my family, we try out black lake facility, research lab escape room with some help from the staff, our family enjoying a lot, best part is that after we successfully escape from the research lab, SDC staff Mr Tan yong Wei gave us a debrief about the research lab and tell us the story line that connect the 3 rooms, that is interesting and finally we can connect the dot, thanks SDC for having such a wonderful staff, best facility, we sure will come back to try out other facility.

Well worth a visit despite the Lazer Tag, Paintball, restaurant and some other parts of the facilities currently being closed. Entrance is free for Singaporeans. The Cinema remains open. The Exhibit is also worth spending some time walking around, although the guided tour wasn't worth the money in my view. The free bus tour of the SAFTI campus was an added plus.

The food in cafe was very tasty and price also very low compared to restaurants in mall. The permanent exhibit gallery is worth a visit. Paddle boat was fun.

My boys enjoy the Sandbox, particularly the Battlefield Command where they get to experience a co-op simulation game. They get to take on different roles and are to work collaboratively to defend against threats from land, air and sea. The various mission scenarios always keep them occupied. Constant reminders on taking turns are inevitable :))

Who says Singapore is boring when u got Singapore discovery center. Spent school holidays pedaling boat, exploring permanent exhibition Lens of time where u get transported back into time during world war II. Kudos to design team on installations, props and artefacts as it was engaging and realistic at same time. I was engaged the entire time. Will be back for more ! And if u didnt know they got a challenging escape rooms and 4D XD theatre ride!! 🤩

  • 5/5 Mich C. 2 years ago on Google
A good place for family time. Kids enjoy the crafts and learning more about Singapore. Sandbox experience is nice and the cinema is great! Food at the bottle tree cafe is delicious too!

  • 4/5 Randy N. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to experience various activities such as XD ride, escape room and laser tag. The escape room (medical facility) is so-so. A couple of clues are quite hard to catch. It’s not that you require more observational skills but some clues are really not impressive. It’s not an ah-ha moment but more of a huh moment when you realized what it is. The experience was quite good though with good props and lighting. Some props are slightly damaged though and you could accidentally retrieve the solution without knowing it. There is a design a tote activity currently (Jan 2022) and it’s quite fun. You just have to give a google review and you are provided a tote bag and some markers to draw on it.

2D1N Great for kids.. pain in the butt for parents. Packed filled program for the kids. Lots of activities within the Discovery Centre. Silly daddy drove to Science Centre thinking it was the same place. Don’t make that mistake. Great and friendly management staff. Meals provided were good. Dinner trumps breakfast.

Camp 1N is highly recommended. Filled with lots of exciting activities including laser tag, escape room, 5D movie rides, pedal boating as well as educational elements including the eco sustainability tour, the camp was a hit with our family. Will definitely be back again.

Good place for family on weekends. The ride has a height limit and is a bit pricey. The bus tour is free, the museum is free for citizens and PRs. The museum is quite fun,so many things to explore. It took us more than 1hr to complete it all. The movie price there is cheaper than outside on weekends.

Had a very educational and enjoyable learning journey with Mindy. She's knowledgeable and clear in her explanations. She was professional and handled queries well. Mindy also impressed me with her ability to engage children and make them pay attention to her. Singapore Discovery Centre is a great place to learn more about the little red dot.

Pro: Cheap movie tickets and free museum, bus tour Areas that I cant appreciate: Content of museum is evergreen and periodic programs does not seem exciting. Area like pretty old school and passive. Banner droped but don't see people reacting to it until sometime. Oh, the carpark is old schol and not automated causing a queue. Defintely something to improve.
