It's an amazing Gallery which is quite interactive in the heart of the city. It shows all type of system that the country own. Gallery is open in two stories where each storey has his own charm. One can see the story around how the Singapore is been developed or originated, to how it is been expanding, how the land is been increased decade by decade. How the traffic and internal resources work. How the beautification is been increased and people are finding more and more ways to enhance it and decrease it's issues. The emerging trend and the lifestyle of people are been shown in the amazing way. One can hire the guides too who will help in understanding each and every part of it very nicely. It is quite interesting to be here and to understand it fully. It also depicts the old Singapore with the new one with various photograph and video section. It is amazing and people should be here once you are here in Singapore.

Very good gallery to visit if you like urban planning, city planning, or are simply curious about all the different aspects of Singapore as a city-state. You’ll understand what it means to run a nation like a well-oiled machine. The scale models are also very good. Plus there are many interactive activities to learn about city planning. The gallery is under the URA (urban redevelopment authority of Singapore). Strongly recommend to book the free-guided tour run by volunteers.

Oh my gosh! This should be a mandatory place to go if you visit Singapore! So much information, in a way that is fun and interactive and not boring at all! I was lucky to get one of the tours and it was just perfect. George was so knowledgeable and entertaining. If you want to really learn about this country, past, present, and never ending improving future, this is you place! I don’t know if I’m just too excited about learning! I loved it!

A good place to visit if you want to know how Singapore plans and uses its limited land space and resources to create a vibrant living, working, and recreation areas for its citizens and residents. A good city model for the world. Go and visit, especially when National Day is just round the corner 😉

The Singapore City Gallery takes you on a tour of Singapore’s history and how it transformed into the tech-savvy, well-planned urban jungle we see today. We saw a lot of videos around the past, the present and where Singapore is heading. We also saw a scale model of central Singapore. It’s a well-packed and well-paced gallery. Best yet, it was free for us to go in and explore. If you’re in to architecture, urban planning or just really want to know how Singapore became what it is today, this is a great gallery to check out!

Very good for locals and foreigners to learn about urban planning and transformation of Singapore. It makes me proud and appreciate the efforts made by URA and other government statutory boards and agencies to make Singapore a better place to live, work and play. There are also other ongoing exhibitions like the Space for our Dreams Exhibition at Level 1. Sign up for both visits if available, to have a better understand of past, present and future plans of Singapore.

Really interesting to know the infrastructural plans for Singapore. It’s exciting to see the construction taking place around the city. Cool information regarding the past and the future. This was a free museum just across the street from Maxwell hawker and the Buddhist Tooth Temple. A great addition to a day of exploring clean restrooms as well.

Ground floor: -Display of architectural drawings of what i would think are significant buildings of Singapore -small exhibition of new areas that are going to be developed (Marina bay and Pearl'Hill). 3d model of the entire country which is used as support to illustrate the urban planning of Singapore. Second/third floor A lot of information is given on how the place has been carefully planned for the last 60 years, and highlights the vision of the future: a smart city where citizens can be in a subway within 15 min, in a park within 15 minutes. Honestly I was really impressed with the level of information, the quality of presentation including 3d models. I would highly recommend this visit (free) to anybody who is interested in what the city of the future will look like !

I enjoy this place so much! Unfortunately, I don’t have much time due to a tight schedule, but I would like to come again to look up the details of Singapore's history and development planning. I feel like I have learned so much about Singapore in one visit. Recommend starting the tour from the second-floor right-hand side as when going to the left, and it will bring you upstairs to the third floor—impressed by how Singapore has been doing on national planning involving different cultural groups and technologies. I think it will be enough to spend around 1-2 hours here.

The gallery did a fantastic job displaying the past, present, and future strategies of Singapore's city planning. It is offering an engaging mixture of 3D models, interactive elements as well as images with text. Contentwise I am more than impressed by how many thoughts go into urban planning. Singapore hit a sweet spot of mixing nature with the artificial.

This gallery details how Singapore turned out to be what it is we see now due to the early planning. Currently the entry fee is free for all. You will see how waste is treated efficiently, how transportation is sustainable. Concept plans are revised every 10 years to make sure Singapore is ready 40-50 years down the line. There are giant screens where you are free to create things with the land in Singapore. Let your imagination run wild. You will get green land on the screen, much like the simulation. You will have all structures, attractions, museums, and parks ready at your disposal to plan your own city in Singapore. On one of the floors, you will also find 1:50 scale models of almost all types of structures you find in Singapore. The one I liked the most was the Helix bridge scale model.

Ventured into the Singapore City Gallery and was met with a fascinating journey through the city's urban transformation. The interactive exhibits and detailed models provide an insightful look into Singapore's architectural feats and urban planning vision. It's more than just a gallery; it's a testament to the city's dedication to sustainable and innovative development. A Singaporean architecture gallery. Free entrance SG’s architecture is part of their culture and this exhibition shows how their urban long-term development undergo! If your travelling purpose is studying local government’s attitudes and what is their future wish, this is a very good place for you! And also, if your Asian trip included SG and HK, this is a good chance for you to know more about their difference. Both of them were British colony before, but went into different direction! And now, it is a good time to compare which one have better urban development.

Every Town Planner and Architect on this Earth will surely love this place, as soon they are being presented with the 3D city models with light presentation, mini games on the transportation and street designs, creative surveys, historical maps and photographs presentations, and planning related books. it is fair to say such City Gallery should be a benchmark for every city in order to make planning and design more approachable for all, and making sense of the places.

The most interactive and interesting experience I've ever had in a "gallery". I love that this gives respect to the visitor's intelligence instead of dumbing everything down. There is so much to learn, and it provides quality exposure to planning concepts and terminologies.

Located opposite of Maxwell Food Centre. From the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum walked until the end cross road while saw Erskine Road. From Erskine Road walked further up then turn right at the junction will saw pathway to Maxwell Food Centre(now there's construction work going on). From Maxwell Food Centre will saw Singapore City Gallery's outside have 3 statues of Samsui women. From the statues walked in will saw glass door, that's the entrance. I have attached photos of how to walk. Operation hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Close on Sunday. Around 4:50pm,security guard will walked around the whole gallery to inform visitors that closing at 5pm. Miniatures of Singapore Landscape and those significant buildings/structures. For example Marina Bay Sand,Art Science Museum, Esplanade,Flower Dome,Cloud Forest,Takashimaya,Pinnacle@Duxton,etc... Understand how Marina Bay,Jurong Lake,Orchard Road are built. What are Shophouse? How it is built from the early stage(years) with different tiles. In the future, how much water, electricity we will be using. We even can build our 'future road' by choosing vehicles, lamps, people, trees. Lots of interactive activities. But went there around 4:20pm le so no time to explore future.

You can also see the location of representative landmarks at a glance. You can see the changes in Singapore architecture or the changes or developments of the city according to the times. I remember using it for free, although it may be because it acts like a museum. When I look around, I don't know the passing of time and I'm into it for a long time. It's a fairly good way to spend about 1.5 - 2 hours if you're already in the area hoping to burn some time. There were a couple of interactive and visually appealing exhibits available. The on site ambassador/guide were very keen to share interesting information and facts about the city's development over the years and how the city might look in the future. While this was a very worthwhile visit, especially it being free, it's hard to justify planning a trip just for this. But it's location makes it easy to plan the next activity.

(Translated by Google) A museum right next to the Maxwell Food Court. free. The theme of the exhibition is the urban development of Singapore, but the biggest thing is the diorama in the center of Singapore. Great for spacing out places in the city. It's free so it's good to stop by the cool (Original)

I have fond memories of visiting years ago during a school trip. A more recent visit impressed me with how interactive and engaging the updated exhibits are with many featuring touch/hover panels presenting interesting snippets of information. Well-made videos about the different aspects of urban planning scattered throughout the 2 floors of permanent exhibitions made the time go by in a blink of an eye. Of course, the crowning glory here have to be the scale models of the whole island and the central district which are breathtaking in their detail.

Excellent display of Singapore's urban planning and how it all came about. Would have been a 5-star experience except for the "surveillance" - there is always a staff following the guided tour group, reminding everone to keep distance and don't touch the display (even though nobody touched it). Felt like being watched all the time, creepy feeling

Utterly amazed with all information here and how SG government built this city. I mean.. how do you even think a city planning in the next 50-100++ yrs? All the sustainability ideas, city in a garden, traffic jam, etc. What great leader this country had/has!

An excellent time to spend your afternoon. Love the interactive model of the island as they narrate how our planners took pains to create space for work, play and sustainable living. Blown away by the displays. Interactive and informative. Suitable for pri sch kids to adults. You can your kids and just explain things to them using the visuals. You'll learn a lot abt Singapore and how much effort has gone in to make this place a great place for all of us. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Just note that venue is best reached by train.

I was here on 13 Sep and chance upon the ArchiCarnival which runs till 30 Sep 2022. Very nice installation at the carnival and within the gallery itself, you will find long term exhibits of our landscape in an immersive experience. On Level 1, there is the Islandwide model that comes alive on schedule with a digital show & tell experience. The 3D architecture model on level 2 provides a good bird’s eye view and perspective for home buyers who needs to visualise the transformation in the coming years.

Great museum for architecture and planning students - insightful history of Singapore's planning. Beautiful models that are so intricate and detailed, one could spend 1.5-2hrs here. The Singapore city gallery is an excellent exhibit and its free entry price makes visiting very worth.
