Located within the Singapore National Botanical Gardens, this is a must see in its own right. Housing a plethora of orchid species, many native to Singapore only. It's quite a large area and takes some time to walk around and see everything. One of the standout parts of the orchid garden are the unique species of orchid that are created for visiting dignitaries such as Obama, Princess Diana, Xi Jingping and so on. These are really interesting. There is also a 'wet house' that's worth seeing to. Overall the orchid garden is a must visit if in Singapore

Well manicured and maintained, this place is. The design of this part of Botanic gardens takes you on a journey through meandering pathways and cooling glasshouse. Certainly worth the entrance fee. Orchids are one of the most intriguing flowers. As the old adage goes necessity is the mother of evolution, these orchids are perfectly evolved to benefit from their symbiotic pollinators. Some uses trickery to entice the male species of insects to land on the stigma, some make the landing pad comfortable for a nice sip of delicious nectar. Amazing!

Special orchids for viewing in the Orchid Garden. Value for the ticket prices. $1 for local school students. $15 for adults. $5 for SG citizen. Comfort and calming places to visit and get to know more about the Singapore National flower.

This place was amazing, all the orchids were bred to be so unique and so beautiful, I spent hours looking around and enjoyed seeing what they had to offer, some of the paths were closed for maintenance and for upgrades, this just made me want to go back another year to see what more they have! The gift shop was nice too and had orchids for sale in a vial that you can take home and plant!

Been here many times. Still think it is a good place to relax. The garden is very well planned and full of greenery. There is also a new indoor garden air-conditioning space where you can enjoy completely different species of orchids. If it rains, there are many places to hide. There are also drinks vending machines. Even if you need to pay in the park, I suggest you come. It's worth it!👍

Went to the Botanical Gardens and the Orchard Garden area this morning. Wow. Super gorgeous. Many great photo opportunities and a lovely walk. Natural beauty! I highly recommend. Entered through the Learning Forrest entrance off of Tyersall. This is a very direct drop off and the beautiful area starts right as you enter.

Not sure why the reviews for this place refers to the National Orchid Garden when this place is labelled as National Parks Board with the location to match. For the correctly-marked location of the National Orchid Garden, do perform a Google Maps search with the exact term. Located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the National Orchid Garden is a attraction dedicated to orchids, Singapore’s national flower. One might have to pay a nominal fee to enter. While not very large, the place is extremely well taken care of and the variety of orchids on display is mine-blowing. There is even a multi-story climate-controlled greenhouse that is dedicated to orchids from different climates (i.e. non equatorial). Must visit for all plant lovers. I would say that the plants on her are better-grown than what is available at the domes at Gardens By the Bay, which is more commercialised/tourist-y in nature.

This place is 'National Orchid Garden' in Singapore Botanical Garden. Senior citizens entry is free. So proud of my country. When come to FREE, the magical word, who is not?. Ha ha ha. Please bring along proof of age. Somehow my 65+ years old face did not help. Fortunately my Medeka card helped. Medeka! Medeka! Medeka!. Passion card with photo also will do. Very enjoyable and obliviously with high humidity, advise to wear appropriately. Of course topless not allow lah. Good for photography, Potrait, Beautiful flowers, etc. I took beautiful pictures of my wife. Did not realize she is so beatiuful until I review the photos after 65 years. Ha ha ha. There is also the 'Ginger Garden' near the entrance. Please do not bring home for cooking. I enjoyed so much with my family of retirees. Enjoy the simple life and yet feeling so fulfilling for the day.

Lovely place for Orchid lovers, National Orchid Garden is located on the highest hill in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Providing a place for 60,000 orchid plants - consisting of 1000 species and more than 2,000 hybrids is the three hectares of carefully landscaped slopes. Here we can explore different type of orchid plants and flowers which we can not get to see anywhere else.

I vote NPARKS as the Govt Agency of the year 2020. It has done a tremendous job in building a garden city and recreational facilities. It has had the greatest impact on our lives, particularly during this pandemic. A GOLD medal for NPARKS!

The National Orchid Garden's located on the highest hill in the Singapore Botanical Garden. It's 1859 when the garden at its present site was founded & laid out in the English landscape's style by an Agri-Horticultural society. Vanda Miss Joachim is the first recorded orchid hybrid in Singapore & was selected as country's National Flower. There're over 1000 spicies & 2000 hybrids on display. They come in so many shapes & colours everywhere. At the time I first visited with my Dad, we loved it so much so we repeated two visits in four day trip. This special trip trully inspired my Dad's orchid garden hobby in his later life in Hanoi. I most miss Singapore for this sweet memoir with Dad!

Part of the Botanical Gardens but you pay separately to enter. Has a lovely gift shop (but slightly pushy staff). The orchids are really amazing and there's a whole new area being built. It took us a couple of hours to walk around, the humidity made it slower as we sat to rest a few times in nice shady spots.

There are SO many more mosquitos ever since they switched off all water fountains at the various parks. Cant be surprise if dengue season is in full swing. By all means close the carparks with Covid-19 happening. PLEASE dont leave countless stagnant water for weeks. Visitors would have the common sense to avoid all contact with fountains. Dont you think that is one's personal responsibility? Thank you.

Definitely a must see if you love orchards and peacefulness. We were wowed by the different type and colourful orchards throughout the garden and spent pretty much the whole day here. It is a long walk and paths can be confusing so be prepared and bring some water and food, taxi stands can get pretty busy. At the front there were tao chi classes which my son tried to copy, the instructor of the class invited us to join in which was pretty nice of them and we had fun.

  • 5/5 Armand J. 4 years ago on Google
While I already walked some 8 hours without stop, I decided nevertheless to visit this garden. With an admission of just 4 dollars certainly worth entering. A large area with dozens of orchids, if not hundreds. Species I never saw across the world were noticed quite some times. Good to spend an hour or so.

This is a great experience for people who love the splendour of nature. It is a must see even though you may not be into gardens as the varieties and the garden settings are delightful to walk around. To see the orchids in their bountiful arrangements and pristine environment was truely amazing. Make sure you visit the display where famous dignitaries have an orchid species grown in their honour. Highly recommended!

  • 4/5 James S. 4 years ago on Google
Wide variety of orchid species as the name suggests. It is a place for flower lovers, especially orchid enthusiasts. The only challenging issue is the hot and humid climate, you tend to get sticky and sweaty quickly, otherwise a comfortable and enriching experience.

Like any all-day breakfast, Singapore's Botanic Gardens are always worth a visit. I like to visit outside of concert hours as there are just less phones and cameras about. But for the best experience, I would recommend an early start or near closing hours so you can enjoy the cooler air and soak in the greenery and beautiful orchids. The National Orchid Garden is itself worth the ticket as it features some of Singapore's finest creations. Included the Vanda Miss Joaquim, this hybrid from 1893 was crowned as Singapore's national flower in 1981. Other celebrity orchids worth a mention are Elton John, Princess Dianna, Jackie Chan and Nelson Mandela. I ignore the names myself and just try and soak in the curated beauty of these gardens at the slowest pace possible.

SGD $ 5 per person is paid and consists of a tour of areas with intermittently planted orchids, as well as a closed exhibition with some varieties named after local and international celebrities. Largest collection of tropical orchids in the world! Take time and read the placards, very interesting and informative. Only thing I felt missing was orchids with different fragrances. A small collection of fragrant orchids will make their collection unbeatable. I had no idea that they name orchids on different famous people, it's so interesting that you try to relate a flower colour with a person's personality unknowingly after checking those orchids. Try to visit in morning or evenings as golden light will provide better photography opportunity.

Here is the most beautiful and complete Orchid Garden one can find in the world, perhaps. The trail is well designed. (Translated by Google) I have been there a few times. It is a good place to take pictures. I learn about the Orchid flowers in Singapore. When it is hot, I hide in the rainforest room to take the cold, hahahahaha. Bring children, suitable for family travel. Passing through the botanical garden, if there is a concert in the botanical garden that day, you can also listen to it in a pleasant and comfortable way.

NParks disappoints. Orchid Garden was always open to all for free during school holidays. They chose to charge this holiday. How odd.

I covered this in the Botanical Garden review. This is in the midst of the botanical gardens and a lovely place to see absolutely the most gorgeous orchids ever. I doubt there is any orchid in the world not here. The vibrancy of each is breathtaking.

Beautiful orchid varieties on display. The humid weather in Singapore is great for growing orchids. Well worth the visit if you are in the area. Steps from Orchard Road and a good break from shopping.

Add this to your Botanic Gardens Visit, the small fee is really worth it. Travel early in the morning if you can as it gets very busy later in the day when the tour groups arrive.

Visited the National Orchid Garden for its beautiful variety of orchids, and we enjoyed being out among the greenery too. Best to visit early in morning before the crowds on weekend. Would visit the Secret Ravine (there is a time limit inside) and grounds of the VIP orchid garden (no time constraint) again on a quieter day.

Orchid garden with a variety of plants, a nice place to walk around if you love plants and natural scenery. Ticket fee is reasonable, just 5 Singaporean dollars. But if you have limited time in your visit, and if you don't especially love plants, you may save some time.If you are a Nature love this is the must visit place in Singapore. Its beauty is not unique and amazing

Orchid Garden is well curated. Beautiful. I suggest the Garden should be freely accessible to all singaporeans without charge. Cannot understand the need to collect fees.

It is merely beautiful, the botanic garden and flower blooming and flourishing all year around. I think the concept is well maintained thanks to the hardworking gardeners. Such a heavenly nice place to release your stress out.
