one of the iconic landmark of singapore. this place will be a bit crowded . there are many shops next to this location where u can get foods and beverages . evening there will be a light show at the Merlion fountain which is a must watch for tourist . other than the light show there is nothing special and the place is a bit over rated

Awesome experience being here. It was my dream to be here since childhood and finally I have done it and couldn't be more happier. The best time to be here is at night with all the lights, people and music. Its all together a very different experience, I strongly suggest that you should visit this place at least once in your life time. You won't regret it.

It was s good view point. The tall buildings are all could be seen and the rice like backwaters along the sides. Its all together a beautiful place to enjoy the view, especially at night times. Fresh juices are available below the bridge like place. They were all fine and good taste... And there was a cruise or boat ride. But the place little far from the Merlion Park. And the view of the Marina Sand Bay Towers were great too....

The place with Singapore's national icon, the mascot - the Merlion, which has the body of a fish and the head of a lion. This is a landmark place from where you could take the perfect postcard photo of Marina Bay sands. As you look around, you can have a look at all the famous skyscrapers of Singapore. Walk further down to the Esplanade Bridge, which has an extraordinary view of the river. Reaching the place is just a few minutes' walk from the bus station. Perfect place for every age groups.

The Merlion park recently got a new upgrade and people love to see it. The show is at least 10 minutes long which involves showing Singapore history. The good thing about it is that it’s connected to the Fullerton hotel behind where the projection is also shown. The kids were very interested about it and I will try my best to research what is show there so I can explore it better to them. The changing of the colors is really properly orchestrated.

A wonderful experience to walk around this iconic area. There are 2 types of Merlion’s here, both are fountains. One is a small one which is like a miniature version of the giant one. The other more iconic one is lovely. We enjoyed the sound and light show tonight and the views are night are simply stunning. Be careful though, as there were a lot of people congregating here. There is security as well, so you’d better be wearing a mask and be in a group of not more than 5 pax.

One of the famous attraction spot in Singapore. It's worth a visit especially in the evening when sunset with windchill. Local folks here are also gathered around the area for relaxing and doing activities with friends/family. There are also the lights-and-sounds shows on the regular schedules.

The iconic statue of Singapore is here. One of the main tourist attractions and it doesn't cost a penny. Surrounded with tall buildings and water, you get the view of Marina Bay Sands too. Easy to reach via metro and bus. There are multiple food stalls with burgers, juices and more available. There's a 7-Eleven within a 7 minute walk. During night time, the statue is lit and there are even light and sound shows. It can a little crowded but worth it. You cannot miss this when you are in Singapore.

One of the famous attraction spots in Singapore, especially for tourist. There lies the half lion half mermaid status with water coming out from its mouth. You can view Marina Bay Sands Singapore building from here as well. Magnificent view especially during the evening time with the beautiful sunset view and chill wind blowing. The park is quite relaxing, and you will find many locals conducting outdoor activities around the area. There are plenty of restaurant & bars along the park, which brings another view at night. There are also the lights-and-sounds shows on the regular schedules at night, which is wonderful.

The Merlion in Singapore is a must-see enchanting symbol, seamlessly blending myth and modernity. Set against the picturesque Marina Bay backdrop, its majestic stature and historical significance make it a standout landmark. The surrounding Merlion Park, with its serene ambiance and panoramic views, is a must-visit spot for relaxation and photography. Exploring the Merlion is not just an experience; it's a captivating journey into Singapore's rich history and vibrant spirit—a truly unmissable destination.

Public areas are free, easy to access and an icon of Singapore. Access is very easy to reach by bus, the place is very clean, lots of f&b tenants and proper toilets. My suggestion is to come here in the morning because the ambience in the photos is brighter. But enjoying the afternoon while sitting is also an exciting thing

The best and most relaxing place in Singapore. From Merlion Park you can see the Marina bay. There are lot of cafe and restaurants to have quality time. It's a spacious area by the sea secured where your children can play while you can spent quality time with your wife. Day time is great for photography night time is more relaxing and enjoyable. We enjoyed a lot. Very convenient from any corner of the city by bus. We visited on a Saturday. There were loads of tourist from around the globe. But one thing don't make any plan to enjoy the light show from merlion Park. Marina bay side is appropriate and accurate place to enjoy the light show. We will love the environment for sure.

The Merlion statue, an iconic symbol of Singapore, represents the city's rich history and unique identity. This mythical creature, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, symbolizes the city's humble beginnings as a fishing village (the fish) and its transformation into a powerful lion city. It embodies Singapore's spirit of strength, resilience, and progress standing in front of all the megastructures.

Very nice place to spend the time with your family and kids. More restaurants are available to get food. It's advisable to go at before 8pm, because the lighting show will start at 8pm and end at 8:15pm. It's not so good, but its OK to watch one time. If you missed then the next show will be 9pm to 9:15pm. Enjoy yourself.

Leaving the airport on a long layover is a total game changer! There's a free city tour, I suggest to book in advance to avoid a long wait since we wasted over 3 hours on a waitlist, left us no choice but to take a metro and explore the city on our own. Every metro lines accessible from the airport to any destination of your choice. There's variety of food and drinks in every area, some places are filled with visitors both locals and tourist from late afternoon til evening. Morning excursion always a good time no one's messing around with your pictures.

Singapore TOURISM spot and attraction landmark of several visitors each day. One of the most beautiful viewing experiences of cityscape visual treats around the corner from Marina Bay Sands to merlion Park which is connectivity through walking tour around 5+ kms. Many Cafeterias are situated in this place so we can enjoy our favourite drink and view the stunning visuals of Singapore City. Must visit spot

The Merlion in Singapore is an iconic symbol of the city. Its blend of lion and fish showcases the city's maritime heritage and its name, "Singapura" or "Lion City." While the original Merlion Park offers stunning views of the city skyline, the smaller Merlion cub at Sentosa Island is equally charming. A visit to either evokes a sense of wonder, but the crowds can be overwhelming. For a taste of Singapore's culture and history, the Merlion is a must-see, but timing your visit to avoid peak hours is advisable.

Merlion Park stands as an iconic symbol of the city-state's heritage and modernity. This waterfront park is renowned for its majestic Merlion statue, a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, which has become synonymous with Singapore's identity. Standing tall at 8.6 meters high, the Merlion statue gracefully spouts water from its mouth into the Marina Bay, offering a picturesque backdrop for visitors to capture memorable photos against the stunning city skyline. The park's strategic location provides panoramic views of landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands, the Esplanade, and the Singapore Flyer, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike. Merlion Park's allure extends beyond its iconic statue. The surrounding landscaped gardens and promenades offer a serene escape from the urban hustle, providing visitors with a tranquil setting to relax and unwind. Whether it's a leisurely stroll along the waterfront or a romantic picnic under the shade of palm trees, the park offers a variety of experiences for all to enjoy. Furthermore, Merlion Park serves as a hub for cultural events and festivities, hosting performances, art exhibitions, and festivals throughout the year. These events showcase Singapore's vibrant arts scene and celebrate its rich cultural diversity, adding an extra layer of vibrancy to the park's atmosphere.

The icon of Singapore, but they can surely add more public interaction installations there to make the park more involving. Because the Merlion is handling all the public interactions for so long, put some other things there too 😂. A cute place this is. Very entertaining to see everyone's mouth open with the Statue spilling in their mouth.

I really like to stroll down this area because you can take a jog, enjoy scenery, and take a picture with Merlion 👍. It is indeed a really nice public park, wish Indonesia had these kinds of memorial landmarks (usually they had landmarks without parks for people to take a stroll on)

The first place that comes to my mind when I think of Singapore. Beautiful atmosphere, picturesque 360 degree views all around. The walk from Merlion to the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is beautiful, specially in the night. Nice area to roam around. You can have the view of the famous Merlion statue, the river plus the tall modern building designs around it. Nice location.. relaxed ambience for a cool walk and eateries.. neat place.. enough spots to capture scenic pictures..sit and chat sipping a drink or having special dishes like waffles, coconut icecream etc.. It could get too hot if you visit this place in the morning so don't forget the bring sunglasses, hat and wear sunscreen. Remember to bring water too. This area is usually packed with tourists day in and day out. Truly an amazing place! A must visit for any tourist.

Visited the Merlion Park while doing our weekly cycling with my buddies. For a Sunday, the crowd is very much less due to the Covid-19 situation. This Singapore's most popular attractions, Merlion Park, on the opposite side of Marina Bay from Marina Bay Sands. It has been here for as I can remember.

The Merlion is the mythical symbol of Singapore and easily the most popular attraction on the whole island. Come to visit this half-fish, half-lion statue during the day to witness crowds of tourists all bustling for position for Singapore’s most sought-after photo-op in front of the 70-tonne concrete figure. The statue stands 8.7 metres tall and has a fountain of water spurting out into the picturesque Marina Bay.

Definitely a very cool place! There's quite a lot of people when I went (prior to Covid) and so it can be a little difficult to really enjoy the park. However, if you back away from the main merlion fountain, there's plenty of room to explore the smaller merlions around. So I would suggest getting the standard merlion picture (there's quite a few people doing the open mouth picture op) and then settling back from the crowd and just hanging out. It's a super quick stop, so I wouldn't budget too much time here. Also, if you're planning on getting an Uber/Grab, make sure you walk down the street to a more secluded area, as it's super difficult/almost impossible for them to pull up and pick you up with the amount of taxis and public transit buses pulling in and out. Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.

Avoid on Sundays. Overcrowded with foreign workers blatantly flouting masking and safe-distancing rules. Safe-distancing ambassadors either turning a blind eye or totally clueless on the level of infringements here.

Went for a stroll after dinner last night. Beautiful scenery the only pity was really too crowded for this period. The eateries are all fully packed too. We did a quick stroll and left, didn’t proceed further as more people are crowded near the Merlion. The night scene is serene and with the lights really created a magnificent view. Perhaps visit during the week days next time.

Great location for photos, dating, chillax, and meeting friends. You get a great 270 degree view of the iconic Singapore River waterfront, spanning from the Esplanade, to the Floating Platform, MBS, and the Marina Bay Financial Centre areas. Of course, you can also have your photos taken with the legendary Merlion fountain statue. Do note that the lights are turned off daily at 11pm sharp, so unless you fancy dark night shots, be sure to take your snaps before 11pm!

The building of the Merlion was completed in August 1972 by the late Singaporean sculptor, Mr Lim Nang Seng and his 8 children. The sculpture measures 8.6 meters high and weighs 70 tons. Today, it’s one of the most photographed structures by tourist when visiting Singapore. The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish that is widely used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore.

The icon of Singapore and one of the must see locations. This place is probably the most popular around the Singapore River. From early in the morning, a lot of tourists try to capture the famous picture of the Merlion, the water flowing from its mouth and the Marina Bay Sands in the background. It is impossible to take this photo in the morning without other tourists behind you. It's worth a visit especially in the evening when sunset with windchill.

This is a small little park with the famous statue fountain. The steps decend into the water and the tour boat Dock is right be site it. There is also a 7-eleven close. But, it has some views and there is a viewing deck. It is a bit of a walk from the metro, though...

Nice place to visit with family and friends for sightseeing but not much la other than the statue. Singapore is indeed a clean country. Hardly seen any trash on the road. Went here before pandemic, there are many people but not that crowded. You can still squeeze in to get instgramable photos.

Definitely worth a visit but very very busy. You should also be aware that from here you have a very bad view of the light show in front of Marina Bay. Still worth a visit for the obligatory “I was in Singapore” picture.

Iconic landmark in Singapore. There’s plenty of restaurants all around the area. The view from here of the city is just breathtaking. Will get crowded with tourists during peak hours but time it right you get some really good photos of the statue and the surrounding views.

  • 5/5 Vinayak Shenoy K. 1 year ago on Google
An important landmark in Singapore, which also ties back to its name. The mythical creature which has a head of a lion and body of a fish, it is believed that a prince saw this creature while trying to approach the islands which later came to be known as Singapore - the land of Singhas. This place gives a good view of the Singapore flyer and also the Marina Bays hotel. While it would be sunny if you visit during the day time, it nonetheless gives a beautiful view of the city and also for some good snaps.

  • 5/5 Michael G. 1 year ago on Google

Really magnificent view. It is really an overall well built place. I was with my luggage and it was really easy for me to walk around there as the whole area made well for wheelchair users too, so if you have anything with wheels (should not be bigger than a wheelchair size) you can walk freely without worrying about stairs in your way. You will find yourself comfortable and secure there even if you travel alone like me (still be aware and keep note of your surroundings no matter where you are) From this spot you can see a really beautiful view you can never forget. There are so many good places to eat while enjoying the view. Maybe just avoid any afternoon visit as you will not enjoy it much, but at evening time you will really love this place (especially if you are with someone special, it will become more special).

We visited during the day, so it was very crowded. I would recommend visiting it in the evening, there is a light show which you can enjoy. Also Merlion seems to have some cracks so they are saying they are going to demolish it and rebuild it soon. So if you are planning to visit, first check if it's close or open.

You got to be creative if you want your photos to be clear of people. A group tour entered the area around 4pm. By then, I was already wrapping up my stuff to move to my next location. Went to takashimaya, via grab and it cost me $24 to get there. Then, walked back (3.4km) to Merlion Park around 6pm to see it during the dark. Worth it.

We visited this park on a Friday morning, around 830am. The place is not that packed and there's only a few tourist taking pictures. But by 9am, visitors started coming and the place is starting to get crowded. You C o uks still take picture, but there's a big chance that people will be in your shots. There are places within the park where you could grab a food and souvenirs. They also have a restroom for your comfort. The place is accessible for those on taxi, but most of the tours in Singapore includes this park on their itinerary. Highly recommend for tourist visiting Singapore. This is a must visit when in Singapore.

Enjoy the breeze and the scenery to pamper your inner self at this place. You'll be mesmerized by the view of beautifully designed buildings and the sailing ships. You can feel at peace although there might be lots of visitors around. A tip from me: find unpopular photo spot and get your best shots there.

We came here when it was on construction process and we couldn't take photo with this Singapore landmark, maybe another time. The place is a must for people come to Singapore. Many tourist just pose pretend drinking the water sprout from merlion mouth

A nice to place to be in specially in the evening, the atmosphere and the view is amazing, you can jog around with Singapore strait. Merlion was under renovation so it is closed till December-23, photographic place with lots of options to eat and roam around.

Amazing place to walk and enjoy the landscape of the city. I recommend to go during the day. There are many bars, coffee shops, and stores all are walkable.

One of the most famous depictions of this iconic symbol is the statue found at Merlion Park—a scenic spot located at One Fullerton, Singapore, near the Central Business District. So creative so beautiful just looking like wow.

Nice place, but obviously a bit crowded. Unfortunately, the Merlion was under construction when we visited. Also, there is a water show at 8 PM that you must experience. Highly recommended."

A tourist place with a beautiful view IF YOU GO AT NIGHT. Haha. I hosted some friends from overseas and they were curious about the light show and glowing merlion. Turns out the show was by bay along Marina Bay Sands. As it beautiful as it was, Merlion Park is nice for the view but dont need to stay for the light show.
