I ordered the choc truffle fudge and posy. I thought the price was quite alright. Certainly not cheap $81, but for artisanal production I believe this is great. You can see the freshness of the flowers and we could smell them too! Whoever your supplier is, keep them! Haven’t tasted the fudge yet though! They were kind enough to remind me to collect on the day after I forgot to do so due to my schedule. I collected the next day and they were chill about it. However one of the truffle was lying on its side. Fortunately I got them to open up to check before I left otherwise my family would have opened it and it would have fallen over lol. There was some reluctance to open maybe because they had simply tied a beautiful bow on top of the box itself. The friendly lady spent a few minutes struggling to tie it. Lol. Also obliging enough to tie a string because it was a bit hard to carry the box and big bag of flowers without another bag for the box! Update: had the fudge red one raspberry white is white choc. Raspberry was so delightful! Hard to come across a bakery that can mix sour of raspberry and balance with the choc centre. Simply oolalah!

My friend had the couscous salad ($8) and while it was a side, it was huge! I had the aglio olio with a side of prosciutto! Their pasta was on the expensive side but it was very delicious and filling. We could actually tell when I started tossing the pasta that it was going to be good. It was very hot so we got a couple of thirst quenchers in the form of agave lemonade ($8) and iced chocolate ($8.50). I could only taste the lemon in mine but it was obviously fresh and concentrated. Both came in rather huge glasses. As for dessert, EVERYTHING looked good! My friend ordered her favourite bread and butter pudding which came with a healthy dose of cinnamon… yummy! And I was so stuffed that I packed back a few baked goods.

This cafe exudes style with a warm ambience. Ample indoor seating for four, plus seats out front and back. The coffee is delightful, but be patient with food orders, as service can be a bit slow. Nevertheless, it's a cozy spot for quality coffee and a relaxed atmosphere, making it great for casual meet-ups or solo work sessions.

A Western-style casual café that offers a great variety of savory and sweet treats. This isn't my first visit, and once again, I found myself captivated by the rich taste of their coffee and the artistry in their latte creations. They use the renowned Allpress Espresso coffee blend, which guarantees a strong and flavorful cup of coffee. The attention to detail in their latte art showcases their dedication to delivering a truly satisfying coffee experience, even though they are better known for their cupcakes. I also appreciate the upgraded serving plates and mugs, which enhance the overall breezy and laid-back atmosphere. The food is served in satisfyingly portion, and the desserts maintain the same great taste.

Clean and minimalist decor with a large outdoor (but covered) space at the front, and a few table-booths tucked away inside. The coffee is excellent and the quiche was, while a little pricey, delicious. The designer 'swing' that hangs at the front is either a little designer florish to add an iconic emblem or (more likely) an Instagramable token. Not necessarily a bad thing as the rest of the cafe stands up on its own.

Beautiful chic cafe at the quaint Tiong Bahru area. Food was delicious - my tuna sandwich tasted great with crispy crossaint skin and juicy veggies. Great environment for some light work. Opens from early. My go to place for some change in environment!

Plain Vanilla Tiong Bahru is always worth a visit for a coffee and some delicious baked treats. Especially after their renovation, is the place more airy and cozy. Their staff is always very attentive and friendly. Also online ordering with pick up and/or delivery works extremely well for small or big gatherings. Sign up for their loyalty program to enjoy extra benefits. 😊👍🏻

Very nice atmosphere but a bit crowded on a weekend afternoon. Pasta was surprisingly amazing. Coffee came with plant based milk option. Didn’t manage to try the deserts but will def come back for it :-)

Love this place! The tartine is pricey but so worth it, it will blow your mind. The banana bran muffin is also very yummy! And the French toast is to die for! We ate here every morning of our trip, It’s that good! We did order an açaí smoothie that came very chunky, but after asking them to blend it more it was perfect!

17 May 2023 I recommend the salted caramel chocolate cupcake (new flavour, $4.90) and the watermelon kiwi smoothie ($8.50). The cream at the top held its shape nicely without compromising on flavour. I really enjoyed the rich chocolatey taste with the added textures of nuts. I thought all the flavours were on top of the cupcake, so I was pleasantly surprised to bite into a gooey bit of salted caramel in the middle. The waitress who sat me at my table was very kind and efficient. Despite it being a full house, I only waited about 10 minutes before getting a table at around 3pm. Overall a very enjoyable experience, and I will definitely come back to try their other flavours.

Pretty place. Pretty people. Good coffee. Good cake. Parking is no issue. Was here on Monday 845 and not too packed. Strong Bali vibes with the decor. Best thing is that, unlike many other places, the coffee prices here is palatable 👍🏾

Didn’t have their coffee because they were using Allpress but decided to give the Apple Ginger Lemon a go, which was actually pretty good. A little on the sweet side but on a whole, reasonably balanced. Pastry selections were plenty, and they were quite creative. What I thought was a wrap turned out to be a sandwich also tasted alright. All in all, pleasant experience! The inefficient use of the space, however, meant that there were less seats than available.

I commend the staff for they are so polite and efficient despite being so crowded. I also noticed that they check each table to make sure everything is okay. Food was so good. I definitely would recommend this cafe 🙂

Love the cup cakes by Plain Vanilla!! The top decoration is a bit too sweet but the cake itself is spongy & taste just right - not too sweet which is good :-) Packaging is simple but classy. Ideal for giving as a sweet treat. Will definitely go back to buy some more :-)

Really nice cafe and great coffee. We were lucky to be just in time to get a booth table. Very cosy but the front booth has the aircon constantly blowing at us. The food were good, nothing special. The coffee was great though. It did take them a while to serve us the coffee. We were almost finished with the food when the coffee came. The vibe is a nice chill and relaxing vibe. The staff were friendly with us. That have outdoor seating in front.

Have been eating here regularly for the past fortnight. Highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and Smashed Avo (pictured) meals. All my food has had immaculate presentation and exquisite flavours/texture. Friendly and attentive service.

It’s a nice and cozy place. Liked the ambience and the hot chocolate while it was raining outside. The cupcakes and other food items were pretty average and overpriced.

$13 + gst & service charge for a small bowl of salad, I think you can get better salad at better prices elsewhere. Spent $23 for salad and iced latte. The place is smaller than expected and has limited seats as the outdoor area was closed. 90 min dining limit while we were there on Sat afternoon.

I enjoyed the earl grey cupcake when I managed to get a table on a weekday around 1:30pm. It got less busy after 2pm. (It was always a full house when I stopped by in the past around brunch time) Cafe latte was to my liking, not milky! Worth going there if you happen to be around the block, but if you can’t get a table, it’s no surprise.

I pre-ordered the signature box of 5 (tart, loaf, muffin, cookie, and brownie) and it was a VERY mixed bag. To rank them from top to bottom: 1. Muffin (Banana Chocolate Chip) 2. Tart (Goat cheese with mushrooms and leeks) 3. Loaf (Blueberry) 4. Brownie (Double Chocolate Chip Walnut) 5. Cookie (Chocolate Chip) I would HIGHLY recommend the muffin. By far the best item in the box and I gobbled it up quickly. Next was the tart—unfortunately I did not have a toaster oven to heat it up in so it was room temperature yet still makes number 2. That should say something. The rest of the items you might enjoy, but I wouldn't say you HAVE to try them. Loaf was solid, but the icing was really sweet and there was a tad too much of it. It was actually so sweet that even when having a little bit with the loaf in one bit, it was overpowering. The brownie was nothing special, and the cookie was honestly bad. It was pretty hard and could have been store bought in a package. I'm giving this place a 4/5 stars because of how good their best items were, despite the others not living up as much.

Really cute cafe in the Tiong Bahru neighborhood. They have a lot of bake goods and coffee was good. Though a bit pricey. The inside interior was very posh. There are a few tables in the front where you can sit and people watch. The backyard was closed because it was still wet from the rain.

Love their pastries as usual! Dark chocolate cherry brownie on a rainy day is perfect. Blueberry loaf cake made from corn floor and good quality butter which you can definitely taste it! House salad looks nothing special, but the big bite of Feta cheese goes super well with the salad. A little salt and pepper that make the salad interesting and not bored. Initially didn’t go to this place at all cuz not really a cupcake lover, but after the first visit, a regular now ☺️

Had a wonderful experience here! The cupcakes are delicious, some are a bit too sweet though. As for smoothies, I got the Strawberry Banana, but unfortunately I could not taste the banana at all. I also tried the Mango Acai, and both smoothies were a bit sourish. Indoor seats are very little, but there are outdoor seats too. But what I loved most was that they are eco-friendly, all eat-in drinks are served in glass cups with a metal straw, unlike many other cafés and restaurants! Very happy about that.

Chill vibes and creamy coffee, best well spent with sweet treats from the wide selection of cupcake flavors on display. I tried the Carrot flavor, which was moist and went down well with the icing. The Earl Grey flavor was only average because the cupcake was slightly dense and dry but the icing had earl grey infused and sprinkled on top. If you mind waiting for a space indoors (only 3 cubicles indoors), then sitting outside is your best bet as there are only 6 high tables available.

Lovely space to relax with a cup of coffee and get some work done. Has a shaded outdoor section with fresh air and a small indoor seating section as wells. Great coffee, granola bowl, and the pasta is surprisingly yummy as well. Friendly and helpful staff.
