MO BAR

Cafe Bar Lounge Tea house

👍👍 Enjoyed myself at the high tea on a Saturday afternoon. The bites were beautifully presented and tastefully curated. The palate cleanser was refreshing and every bite thereafter was delicious. The scones were fluffy (especially the chocolate ones, you can eat it on its own). There’s a good selection... People often mention great, menu, service, good, drinks, cocktails, Great, view, nice, afternoon,

Enjoyed myself at the high tea on a Saturday afternoon. The bites were beautifully presented and tastefully curated. The palate cleanser was refreshing and every bite thereafter was delicious. The scones were fluffy (especially the chocolate ones, you can eat it on its own). There’s a good selection of tea, and the individual sweet and savoury dishes were complimentary to each other. The staff was friendly, the ambience was relaxing. I’m going back to revisits.

Service here is great yet relaxed. Been here a few times, and the servers are always polite and well-versed to explain the changing cocktail menu properly to you. A sign that they take their cocktails seriously. The cocktail menu is pretty imaginative and indicates the alcohol strength for you lightweights out there. They have both a digital and physical menu (which is in the form of a sphere), which it makes the whole experience just a tad more playful and casual. The digital menu, which is fairly new, is something that really wows though. While not always big on presentation, the drinks are most definitely always on point when it comes to flavour and thought. MO bar has a lovely atmosphere and a decent view of the Singapore skyline, and the last time I went, they finally have live music back! Would recommend coming here for a couple of sundowners. Do make bookings in advance though!

Took a day off to have a relaxing weekday afternoon tea for 2. The items were all good, especially the sweets which were well made and fruit-shaped. Enjoyed the tea blend and hand-dripped coffee too. Service from everyone was excellent and the items were explained clearly. Very chill vibes with a nice view though we were seated away from the windows. Would like to come back for drinks one day.

Amazing bar with a great view in Mandarin Oriental hotel,Singapore. We enjoyed our cocktails and sat next to the window with a most beautiful night sky view of Singapore. Great place to go for a drink and some light bites in the evening. The seating arrangement was intimate and luxurious, nice lighting and great atmosphere with a live band and singer. Must visit!

I had a very pleasant high tea experience with my wife at Mo Bar and I would definitely want to return again. It's perfect for unwinding after work or hectic schedules. Very well presented and the taste of each bite size treat was very delectable. Loved the view from the restaurant, which also helped me relax and enjoy the dining experience.

The layout is pretty much like Manhattan. Their food is legit! The best cheese truffle nan I ever have in Singapore. The local infusion cocktail is quite subjective, not my poison though. Even we have the bar seat, it’s spacious and comfortable enough. Well done, Mo bar P.S. there’s live band here

High tea (sweets) were impressive! Especially the middle tier! They tasted exquisite (complicated yet nice). Coconut sorbet tasted good with real coconut inside. Main course was average but quite overpriced. Cocktail was also quite expensive but tasted not bad. Ambience was great! The live band sang well and added to the ambience ☺️ service staff at MO bar was great!

We enjoyed our night at MO bar. The staff made us feel right at home with their friendly attitudes. Thanks ladies! Cocktails were strong and delicious. $26 each, could have used pictures in their simplistic drinks menu. Wide range of spirits from the standard Gin and Whiskey to the rarer Agava. Laksa fries was acceptable, nothing special. Probably would order Truffle fries for my next visit. Overall, price is a bit costly but the other elements made up for it. Worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

For a Sunday brunch this place is a bit strange. The food quality is good, but it's not all you can eat and it's important to know that coming in. You have to choose 3 items from the the menu. Again the food quality is great but you might be still a bit hungry after. For alcohol the cocktail selection is very limited the champagne free flow is limited to 2 hours, but they're very generous with the pours! Manhattan is the best brunch in Singapore hands down and if you want all you can eat food then head to the Ritz Carlton, but if you're looking for an elegant boozy brunch then this might be for you.

Would highly recommend mo bar for your afternoon tea fix. They have the right balance of sweet and savoury snacks (we liked the savoury slightly more). Great service; the staff was very patient in bringing out a few wines for us to taste. The only bummer was not being allowed to "takeaway" the leftovers we couldn't finish.

First visit to Mo Bar afternoon tea. Service is great that they constantly keep an eye on your table to refill your tea or clearing used plates. The flow is fantastic but personally felt it’s too fast where you might felt like having fast food- you eat and go. Afternoon tea is to pamper and enjoy the slow pace and ambience after all. Food and tea quality and presentation is awesome, great international fusion. I love it, with the price I pay. The only disappointment is seat changing flexibility. $25 deposit they charge to secure the booking. We didn’t request specific table since it was our first visit, we request if we able to change but was turned down said that the other customer paid deposit to secure that particular table. I meant, all customers pay $25 to secure the booking.. That makes it a 3 star rating.

Great bar with exquisite drinks. Every cocktail you get is like a piece of art, and it tastes as good as it looks! Atmosphere is great and the wait staff is super friendly. They will do anything to accommodate you. My only issue is that they charged me $16 for a bottle of water that they offered to me. I normally hate when people leave a review and say something is overpriced, but $16 for a bottle of water is just ridiculous. Otherwise, great place. Have now gone 3 times and it’s been great every time

This venue oozes class. Well laid out, really good service. The snacks and light meals really excellent as well. I had afternoon drinks with some desserts. The views are amazing over the marina bay with a great view of the Marina Bay Sands. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing high tea set. All cakes seem to be heated up by microwave. Mango mousse, of same artificial flavor, makes up all the stuffing. And the mousse is not smooth. Puff, toast.... all are not crispy. Only 1 waiter there. It's my 1st time seeing a cockroach in a hotel bathroom. Very disappointed.

Everything about mo bar was great - service, drinks, food, ambience and views!!! I loved how they had a theme to it and everything was so well thought out, plus the cocktails tasted so good and were aesthetically pleasing. The food was great too, perfect for nibbles while drinking. This bar is on my favourites list (and it’s the only bar) and would go back again!! Also, of all the bars I’ve been too, I feel that mo bar is the most worth, absolutely loved the experience!

Went for Christmas afternoon tea. Food is well presented and each item was explained when served. All foods are nicely seasoned and I liked that sweets are not overly sweet but just nice. Portions are decent enough too. I would give 4.5 due to limited tea and coffee choice(1 tea/coffee menu was not available when we visited) and it is not refillable(can top up hotwater though). But overall I did enjoy their food, atmosphere and attentive service.

Nice bar on the pool deck of the Mandarin Oriental, with covered outdoor seating. Nice cityscape and Marina Bay Sands view to go with your drinks. Downsides are the chairs look nice but are really uncomfortable for anything longer than 10 minutes. Also smoking is allowed so if there's a large group next to you it can be bothersome.

[cocktail bar review] Part of the ‘Asia’s 50 best bars’ list repeatedly over the last couple of years and I can see why. Located in Mandarin Oriental, a 5 star up class hotel, you enter in a nice water feature elevator to go up to the 4th floor and turn left before entering the bar. At the entrance, numerous plaques display proudly the awards it has earned. We walked it and it was dimly lit and had a nice pleasant cosy and upscale private environment. Jazz music was being played by the live band. We were ushered to our seat by the same host who took care of us the entire time. She was nice to tell us how the menu worked - menu was in the form of a paper dome which was an interesting concept, had QR code available as well. We ordered 3 cocktails and truffle fries for the total bill to be around $110 SGD after service tax included. Cocktails had a nice alcoholic punch to them and were well crafted. They had texture and depth to the taste which was nice to sip on over quality conversations with the wife. Presentation of the cocktails were unique, although if you are into your ‘show’ factor there are other cocktail bars that will tick this box better. Definitely get the cocktail with the printed picture in the top (in one of my pictures) as that has become the MoBar ‘signature’ cocktail you see all over pictures on social media and ads. In terms of how these compare to the other cocktail bars in Singapore, this is definitely top 5 level although not the top 1 or 2. More like a 4th or 5th spot place. A safe bet to stop by here if you are in the area. Truffle fries were normal, nothing to write home about. Reservations are highly recommended. Although we called in to the same day and got a seat later in the night. The MO call line for dining reservations is a pain, nobody ever picks up (there are other reviews that also echo this), so you are better reserving online via the seven rooms platform, or if you are trying to get a same day reservation like me call into the MO main line (not the dining reservation line), and ask to be called back. That will get a reply quicker. Walk ins are not recommended. We were allowed valet parking out front by the wonderful generous front entrance personnel.

The place is cozy and have a good view of the Bay area and Marina Sands. As for the food, it's nice to look at but taste wise it doesn't quite match the atas price. The savoury toasted items doesn't have the crunch as if been left sitting for quite a while before being served. Cakes didn't impress either. Will not be back

Last visited in Jan 2024 MO Bar is back with the new Volume 5 menu. New set of cocktails of which we ended up trying 9. My personal favs were White Rabbit, Eden and Helix. The Vortex cocktail was also nice. Service is fantastic here as usual. This place is always a recommendation to SG residents and visitors in my books cos of its classy ambience and great cocktails.

Had my wedding anniversary drinks / dinner here. Food was surprisingly great - think it came from the central kitchen of Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Service and Ambience was on point too. Only small feedback is that the food served could have been a little warmer. Perhaps it took some time for the food from the central kitchen to reach MO bar.

Visited the newly refurbished Mandarin Oriental and omg what a delight!!! MO Bar is serving some of the best cocktails in Singapore. For me this is my go-to on a date night. Location and vibe is far superior now compared to other bars like Atlas or Manhattan. Live band is the icing on the cake. Just loved everything about this place!!!! 😊

We went early when it was less crowded and we had a great time. The service was superb; staff were attentive and receptive to feedback. We returned the bowl of chips that weren’t fresh and they replaced it without hesitation. Cocktails were well presented and the satay was very enjoyable but the laksa fries were just normal french fries with a small portion of laksa sauce that tasted just like spicy mayo with dried shrimps. Live band sounded great, but just that we were seated at another section so we left early. Will definitely come back for more.

We were there for their mango themed afternoon tea. The food was disappointing, everything tasted the same. They should reconsider about doing a themed afternoon tea, we love mango but it was just plain boring. The seating was odd and uncomfortable. They also kept topping up my tea pot with luke warm water. We will not be returning.

(Translated by Google) I made a reservation from the hotel website and used it. You can show us your seat even if you arrive a little earlier than the reservation at 15:00. You can choose tea from the 5 course menu. (Adding hot water on the way) From the starter jelly, 2 salty dishes and scones and pies. Great satisfaction here. At the end, sweet things (photos) will appear. It was so bad that we couldn't finish it. Dinner is not included. You can spend an elegant time listening to live piano music. I think it's better to spend a quieter time than the buffet style. We were not guests at the hotel, but we wanted to visit the poolside bar ( Bar@5) which is famous for its views of famous landmarks. A friend and I were there for a c couple of espresso martini's. They were nice but seemed to be made with coffee syrup rather than a true shot off espresso. A lot of places do this, and it's a shame because at sgp$22 each, you want the real deal. The pool are for hotel guests only and you access the bar and pool via foyer elevator. If you're close, worth a visit to see the night lights and if you get there before 8pm you can see the laser light show across the water.

We were here for the afternoon tea, $48 for 1, $88 for 2. Good ambience, the food before the sweets were with mixed feelings though. First sherbet opened was nice. The appetiserish thingys were a little like western with local infused flavours... savoury tarts and breads were ok, the butter roll for the lobster was a little dry... pineapple scones weren’t my thing, plain ones were good, so were the jams, orange marmalade was the best. The sweets are the thing to wait for... Teas were good.

Came on a Monday night. Was pretty quiet with few tables occupied for private conversation. They played soft R&B. They had a pretty decent drink menu with planets as theme! The welcoming attendant was attractive and friendly. The bartender explained that many of the ingredients are made in house.. I had a Cocktail called Back to Bali which was a rum pandan drink that was refreshing and interestingly served in a bamboo cup with a spoon and a strip of pandan leaf!

High tea without the highs. Read good reviews and decided to give it a go, should have read the reviews better because there were some signs that the food was less than desirable.. The menu made the food sound yummy but it was bad.. not the kind of food you'd expect from a 5 star establishment. The puff pastries were possibly just heated frozen food because it had that not buttery but margarine fake taste. Suddenly it made polar cafe look like it gained 1 Michelin star. The desserts were just so sweet that you can hardly finish a piece of it. Flavours lacked depth and was just flat out sweet. It felt like left overs from a buffet line at some point. Strangely they didnt ask how was tea, which was quite usual when the billed was called for, maybe they knew. Service was okay, and that's about it, for this price, there are way better places out there.

Great refurbishment in mid/late 2018. The bar is bright and airy with panoramic views of the city even though it’s not particularly high up. The staff are attentive and the barmen were amazing; happy to provide recommendations and knowledgeable on the drinks. Prices are on the high side, but it’s a hotel bar.

  • 1/5 Rachel L. 4 years ago on Google
A bar of disappointment. Not MO BAR, it should be NO BAR. Located in a swanky hotel with a cozy atmosphere but that's about it. The drinks description in the menu makes zero sense and does not help with deciding my order. Drinks are unfortunately unbalanced (terrible) and the whole galaxy theme is unnecessary. Dont even get me started on the bar food. We had the Galley Potatoes, aka reheated frozen tater tots with mayonnaise on the side. Nanniwazu Puffs? Reheated frozen Takopachi. The pictures speak for themselves. (FYI If they are both handmade in-house then i think you should consider getting a new chef to revamp the food menu) I expected so much more from an establishment in a 5 star hotel and was really shocked to be served this standard of bar food. This is not food that you would serve to guests at home, what more food from a bar in a 5 star hotel. My advice to those visiting the bar, don't order the food and cocktails. Stick with a wine or champagne and perhaps you may have a better night. Service was okay, but not consistent. Coasters for the drinks only came after 15mins after the drinks were on the table. Will definitely not be returning and do not recommend. You can easily find a better bar in Singapore.

  • 5/5 Joanna O. 3 years ago on Google
A really excellent bar. The cocktails are fun and inventive, and the narrative they put in the menu is fun. They also make solid standard drinks and nonalcoholic offerings, and the food is good (burger was great). The service is excellent. I would definitely recommend this bar if you're looking for a unique, upscale place to have a drink.

The worst experience in my life. Definitely I won't recommend this place. 21:30 30th Oct. 2019 I ordered a frozen pina-colada. At first, they served just normal pina-colada. So I returned it and asked for the correct one. Yes, they did. But the consistency after blending was not right. Become so sweet and the ice crystals were too big to consume with straw. I was super upset at the cocktail. So I wanted to complain but not even one service staff approached the table for quality check. For my overall experience, I discovered plenty of mistakes which the staffs also realise. But so far, I didn't receive any apologies. Last but not least, the one who in red uniform, have to learn how to bid farewell properly. Thank u.

Came for high tea. An absolute deal for the quality and level of service. Wagyu beef, lobster, hamachi, shrimp, crab, and other decadent little bites lead to desserts before the scones and then perfect Japanese grapes presnted on a bed of ice in a raku bowl before chocolates to finish.  Oh and tea. Great view, great food and service to die for!! Our server Hycinth was such a delight, not only to us but to every one she serves. Again and again we see her making efforts to greet guests in their native language, play a little with the children, answer any and every question promptly and made excellent recommendations on tea selections. Her knowledge of the menu down to how each item taste really impressed us, as did her smiles and charm when serving guests. I’ll definitely be back with other friends!

Favourite bar in Singapore! I've been multiple times and the service is top notch. The bartenders take time to understand our pallet when serving the drinks. The complimentary snacks are delicious, the crowd is friendly, and the drinks are just right. Adrian was our bartender and we were so lucky. He made perfect drinks for us and made our friend feel special for his birthday. Couldn't give enough praises! Will surely come back

Love the ambience here, the waitress are not “stingy” in pouring the champagne especially after he know is for birthday girl. Decent food. Very space out. Although get noisy cos is fully booked but is still comfortable. Can feel they are short handed but they tried their best to attend whenever we called. The only strange thing is when we request the birthday cake to be serve, the lady serve us the cake before clearing the messy table with leftover food on table. And she put 1 long and 1 short candle on the cake which is strange. Shouldn’t they know 1 big candle represent age of a person. Will be good if they can ask or the easiest is just put one candle on the cake.

Made reservation to secure a seat here. Great place to chill and rewind. Chill music and great drinks. Food looks normal on menu but the sauces for each finger food item was really well done. The sauce complimented really well with the food and it brings out a whole new flavour for each dish. A lot of effort was put into the presentation of each cocktail. Will definitely be back to try out other drinks!

Came here for afternoon tea which is served between 3-5pm. Food is pretty good and portions is just nice. Suggest you to have a light lunch before coming. The set is $88 for 2 pax but we added a cocktail for each since MO bad is known as asia best 50 bar with top up of $17 each. If you sign up for MO membership on the spot you get 15% off only for the afternoon tea set. Our favourites include the seaweed scone, yuzu coconut cake, raspberry cake and salmon sandwich. Nice place to spend for the afternoon

Great cocktails, do try their dumplings also! Pitty music is forbidden because of covid restrictions, the atmosphere would be much nicer.

What a perfect way for ladies to spend a rainy afternoon. As always, The Mandarin Oriental hotel is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle, it is elegant and serene with beautiful facilities. These high tea snacks appear to be made with the utmost care and craftsmanship. The bottomless Ruinart champagne represents great value for money in SIngapore, given that we were paying $25 for a glass of prosecco in the evening prior. Just lovely enjoying the finer things in life.

Incredible. My favorite bar in Singapore. The bartenders are the star of show here and are so kind. They create the cocktail menu and can tell you all the thought that went behind creating each one. The best cocktails I’ve ever had, anywhere.

Beautiful scenery, great ambience. The drinks are quite unique though the app is slightly laggy (perhaps should do some lazy loading) Either way, I’d recommend this to anyone that ones a pleasant experience with nice drinks and a chill atmosphere.

Went there for their Friday evening seafood + 2 cocktail deal ($48++). Really good and big portion of seafood. The drinks are strong but well balanced. We also got the nasi goreng and chicken curry. It was expensive but tasted authentic Looking fwd to trying their afternoon tea and brunch next time!

One of Asia's 50 Best Bars, Mo Bar's menu is beautifully curated with drinks representing different cities and with little anecdotes on them. We tried their Sarimanok (Lanao) and Milky Way (Taipei) where the former is a refreshing drink and the latter is alcoholic bubble tea. Both drinks were beautifully made and Milky Way was pretty strong. Note that their cocktails are only available in the evening at 5pm onwards. In the afternoon, they serve amazing high tea sets. Almost every item on the high tea was delicious and that's a mean feat... I've tried a couple of high tea across various hotels and this is easily one of the best at its price point. Service is amazing too but they don't provide serviettes 🤔

The drink was great. A touch expensive but understandable as its hotel bar. Love the beautiful digital menu you have. Pretty amazing. Staffs were friendly. Not keen on interior. It's time to revamp the design. Too old fashioned

A pretty good place for high tea. Overall experience and service were good. Only gripe was that the dessert section near the end was too sweet. Went with a group of 9 (mixed genders) and only 2 could finished their share.

Excellent bar, among the best in Asia. Staff service is super friendly. Atmosphere is elegant. Seats could be a bit more comfortable. The menu is very creative and caters for all kinds of taste from non-alcoholic to boozy cocktails. Presentation is amazing. Art.

Enjoyable afternoon tea with a nice view. Started with the earl grey and grapefruit granite which was a nice palate cleanser, very refreshing with strong tea taste coming through. Everything on the menu was a hit, especially enjoyed the masala prawn and the grape with vanilla infusion. Pistachio scone was good too. The friendly staff will introduce each item to you when it’s served which is a really nice gesture. It is priced reasonably at $98++ for two pax on weekdays. Will returned again when the menu changes!

$52 per pax after OCBC 15% discount for high tea on Sunday. Ambience is great, pretty crowded but wide space apart from next table. sweet selection hit quite well we quite like it but not so much for savoury selections. Warm Service from the staffs despite being busy.

Nice bar inside mandarin oriental and tried the high tea. Their cocktails are very special and pretty. High tea menu was innovative - mostly Singaporean dish with a twist. Nice place to chill and catch up with friends.

Had afternoon tea and cocktails with the family while waiting for a connection in one of the top 50 bars in the world. Tried a few cocktails and they 100% did not disappoint. The old fashion was colorful and tasted great, egg white cocktails were on point. Overall loved my experience and really wish my city had something like this. The decor and views of the city do not disappoint either see for yourself.

Great View But Underwhelming. It has a fantastic view of the cityscape and that’s it. The food and cocktails are underwhelming for the price. Dining area is very hot and there’s people smoking. This bar is situated near the pool and can be noisy. Seats are very uncomfortable. Service is ok but I got charged the wrong price for the food. The server said they raised the price but the menu clearly showed the price and the amount on the receipt is wrong. They rectified the issue but I think they should have acknowledged the error right away instead of telling me they raised the price. I was very disappointed with the club sandwich. Pizza margherita is good.

Once I came to this bar, I keep coming to this bar. Great concept drinks with the stunning city views and live duet. Food were surprisingly big portions and tasty too. Bar crews remember me and always gave sweet warm welcome. Sofa seats, bar seats, high tables are all served perfectly functions. Great city vibes high taste bar.

Always my go-to bar whenever I’m in the lion city. Located in mandarin orientalist hotel, you get top class service all the way from the front glass doors in the lobby, with the butler asking about your visit and then directing you to where you wanna go. A bar with a piano in the middle of the room? Cocktails themed with flavours from around the Asia region, truly represents its name “mandarin oriental”.

Try our luck on a Saturday night without any reservation. The service crew ( later we know he is the assistant manager )was very friendly and helpful, making sure we get a table immediately once someone left. The cocktails menu are very interesting and we were very satisfied with our choice of Full Moon & Afterglow. Will definitely come back again. 👍🏼

Excellent dinner and drinks at MO bar, really enjoyed the experience . Although it was a rainy day and it fogged up the windows and we were not able to see the views well but the drinks very much compensated The very insta worthy full moon was very good Other drinks can also be chosen from a “spherical” menu with different choices depending on alcohol strength and your preference

Nice ambience with good sky view of the central business district of singapore. Tried the desserts cheese cake, fruit platter and chocolate mousse! Fancy plating with good taste. Highly recommend the chocolate esp in view of the price tag. The viet roll with avo was refreshing after all the heavy naan, burgers and satay. Most mains came w fries or wedges. The curry prawn was kinda unexpected thou it was kinda dipped in a pasty curry and grilled (i think).

One of my favourite bars in Singapore. It's also on the Top 50 World's Best Bar lists of Asia Pacific and very deservedly so. The menu is fantastic, creative and innovative and I have never had a bad cocktail here. The presentation takes it up a couple of notches and the views over the waterfront are Stellar. I highly recommend coming here and do remember to get a reservation.

An 11/10 experience. My husband and I recently went to MO Bar on October 7 for the first time, and was not disappointed whatsoever. The drinks - We ordered the White Rabbit (hands down our favorite of the night - we ordered it more than once), Kopi Siew Tai (the hot version), Grandfather’s Road, and Vortex. All of them were either solid or exceeded our expectations. The menu - We came at a time when MO Bar was serving Volume Five of their menu. On first glance, it’s just another menu. But when we actually read through the menu more carefully, we realized that there’s actually a Singapore-related story behind each drink’s concept. My husband is a Singaporean and I’m an expat, and we both had a great time trying to connect the dots between each drink with it’s origin story. The service - The servers were highly attentive, friendly, and also knowledgeable in their cocktails. Special shoutout to Mila, who was an absolute delight The ambiance - We came around 8pm, before the live music started. Already, the setting was great and the decor and music fit the vibe. They all worked well together. The live music - The Jukulele band performed live music starting around 9pm, and damn. They were superb. I personally am not really into live music, but this band really impressed me and their choice of songs fit the overall ambiance. Honestly, everything was great. We cannot wait to come back :)
