Looking for a high class yet chill place to impress a date or business contact? Quite clever of the hotel to convert their lobby into an actual restaurant. Come here for a cocktail or a meal. Extremely comfy seats, except in the dining area, which is only slightly posh. Service is impeccable. Only the food was a slight letdown, the range wasn't as wide, though the quality was very good. I had the waygu beef burger, my companion had truffle fries and I don't recall what soup. Would I come back? If I had an expense account! : )

A nice place for high tea or a drink but not so suitable for dinner as the seats and tables are not configured for main meals. The menu was interesting although some items were not available. The cod fish and chips was disappointing as it had more batter than fish. However, the chicken satay was surprisingly lean and tender.

Highly recommended afternoon tea. Great place to enjoy in a colonial lounge setting environment. The food has western and some local style pastry which suits the theme of this place. They also have pianist doing live performances which lighten up the atmosphere. One of the highly rated place to enjoy afternoon tea time.

This is the best place to chill and relax at night. The yellow light gives a nice warmth especially it is raining outside. I ordered a few cups of coffee and a plate of truffle fries. I came in the afternoon for their high tea set and it is good. You should try their coffee, classic dessert like Tiramisu cake with vanilla ice-cream and yes, some finger food like french fries. And enjoy their sofa seats. It is a good place to sleep when it is so comfortable with warm light and relaxing silence. 😌

had the festive afternoon high tea and it was highly disappointing. Service: once seated, we were not attended to at all till 10 min later when we asked. Food: there were 5 courses. I personally only liked one dish - the raspberry foie gras parfait. most were mediocre at best, and some - unfortunately could have been much, much better. Portion: size wise was fine. but they could honestly afford to be more generous with their fillings - more eggs in their truffle egg mayo sandwich (pictured) and thicker (or more) slices of turkey in the turkey sandwich. I hope their regular high tea menu is better than this :(

Colonial-style hotel. The dining environment is very comfortable while enjoying beautiful music. It's just that the attention of the service staff is not enough, and it takes a long time to call someone to serve you. Hope they can improve this by observing what the guests around them need.

Came at Christmas time and really liked the holiday inspired seasonal drink menu. Their Christmas old fashioned was super yum and surprisingly served warm. Will make a stop next year!

Enjoyable afternoon tea in a posh-looking environment. Really nice design in a historic-looking building that allows for natural light to illuminate the dining area. Food is delectable; with the portions being sufficiently filling with a wide variety of both savoury and sweets. Wide variety of drinks to choose from; have your coffee made any way you like it; or have some tea, served by the pot instead.

Dropped in to wait for an hour before my next meeting. Figured a coffee would be good but didn't expect it to be 16 bucks after taxes 🤦‍♂️ it's just machined coffee to boot. Couldn't face palm any harder but I deserved it since I didn't check the menu first.

A beautiful place with seats spaced far apart amongst groups of people, good amount of food for hi-tea and friendly service crew. Hi-tea set was normal, nothing too surprising and tasted up to standard for a 5-star hotel. There was an ant that was at the base of the hi-tea set though, informed one of the staff and there was no one who came over after 30mins, we asked the staff again whether she had feedback. She said "oh, no one came to you, I will let them know again". So then, someone came over and apologised, offered to provide a new set, which wasn't necessary since we almost finished (and we saw the trail of the ant) and we politely rejected, it was a feedback for them to improve. Showing the little ant in the photo.

We ordered the hi tea set and it turned out to be quite average. Despite the lobby’s strict rule against shorts and slippers, I observed that a significant number of gentleman at nearby tables were casually wearing shorts and slippers. This implies that there are no rules in place whatsoever.

It was a high-tea birthday treat by my daughter. We missed the “Alice in Wonderland” theme by but found this “Flavours of Japan afternoon tea” even more appealing! We were greeted by both the Executive Chef(didnt managed to read his name on his tag) and Hayden Lam for a review of the food for the first day of the launch. Honestly we both loved the savouries especially the chawamushi! It was such a pleasure to dine in a quite and relaxing setting. Will be back again for other high tea themes.

Visited during Christmas Week to try the Festive high tea as well as the kid’s “Santa’s TeaParty.” Drinks came out very quickly but the food strangely took over an hour from when we ordered which I would say was the only negative from our experience. Perhaps the kitchen was understaffed? From other high teas I’ve tried, the food and tea usually come out around similar timing as it doesn’t take too long to assemble the sets. The lobby lounge overall seems kid friendly, staff were really nice and attentive; my son spilled his hot chocolate and the staff were incredibly kind, cleaning it up quickly and bringing him a new hot chocolate plus some coloring pencils and sheets to cheer him up.

Mia was a great and kind staff there who help us to took pictures and sharing with us abt the foods. The savoury ones are good but the sweet stuff is way too sweet even with good tea. Overall fine experience

Came and tried their classic and vegan high tea. Appreciate their attempt to reinvent local culture and flavour into their classic selection, otherwise mediocre - did not finish our food and drinks. What I do like - their coconut lychee ice-cream, the kopi and kaya toast recreation (especially the kaya toast), fried gyoza, quiche, ondeh-ondeh, fried mantou. Scone was not bad but did not end up having any refills for scones and ice-cream. Fried fritter from the vegan set was also tasty. Sandwiches, cakes - no thank you from me! Appreciate the service from staff at the lounge, and lovely interior. As for returning, I won’t be coming back for a while

Wonderful service from the staffs! They checked in with us to make sure we're comfortable and the gentleman at the icecream section was very sweet and served us with all the flavours to try. Enjoyed my high tea experience and most definitely will return here another time. Enjoyed the interesting desserts, the kopi and 'toast'may appear to be our usual kopi but they were actually Financier with Sable, Pandan Coconut Curd, Salted Mascarpone Cream. And 'satay' that were actually Caramelized Pate a Choux with Peanut Diploma Cream. Thank you!

Came on a weekday night for dinner, had high expectations of their local delights and ordered the hokkien mee. Portion is huge which justifies the price, however taste wise, it was pretty ordinary. To add on, the squid/sotong was not fresh as it has a funky taste upon eating. Not too sure how our stomach will feel tomorrow. Also ordered the mala chicken which was much more flavourful, would recommend ordering this dish.

  • 4/5 Hazel S. 1 year ago on Google
Service is good. Order beef & chicken satay which is pretty normal. I personally feel the food was mildly lukewarm (not warm enough) and end up being cold after awhile which cause the beef to become tough. The drink is just normal. Price is on higher side.

We went for the Classic Afternoon Tea and it was super filling for 2 pax. We couldn’t finish the set and had leftover. Tea was super good and a big pot! Try to come with a hungry stomach instead! Food quality is excellent and made with really fresh ingredients. My favourite is the tea that comes with a sugar stick.

This place have nice environment for afternoon tea with colonial deco. Foods are ok and the standard choice of beverages are tea and coffee. Of course they have others drinks available. Service are excellent. Good place for meeting friends.

I went on 15 Jun 2023 afternoon for high tea menu (vegan). The staff attended to me was welcoming. The food took less than 10 mins to serve and it was presentable. However, in my opinion, i felt the savoury food was cold and abit dry. The sweet treat was normal which also can get it from normal dessert cafe. Overall ambience was great and staff was friendly. I hope they can improve the quality of food given that this is a hotel high tea.

Loved the whimsical afternoon tea set! All elements were delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and efficient and overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Dropped 1 star as we also had issues with the dress code. As some previous reviewers have said - the requirement for closed shoes is set out in very small print at the bottom of the booking confirmation and is unexpected for afternoon tea in a relaxed lobby lounge that encourages children to attend. It would be helpful if this was highlighted more clearly.

  • 5/5 Cindy O. 10 months ago on Google
Chose this place for our 2yo first hitea experience because of the kids menu which seems to be hardly available elsewhere. The service was fantastic with staff paying attention to the little one and offering sorbet and checking in to make sure all is well. Love the ambience and the spacious area. Order an adult tea set and a kids set for two as they do not have option for one kid. The spicy crab dish from the adult's set stood out amongst other items. The rest are just passable. However, we do love the presentation for the kids set and it certainly wow-ed the little one! It'll be perfect if they can consider replacing the gummies cone as there are already many sweet items in the set. The plush was larger than we expected and that's really awesome! The Old Fashioned was also perfectly done. Lastly, while it is normal for club lounges to have dresscode, do note that this lobby lounge has a dresscode too. It's my bad for overlooking the clause in the email confirmation and reminder of my reservation. Having stayed here previously and checking out the hitea menu, i did not think the price point warrants a dresscode. Appreciated that the staff informed me discreetly upon our arrival and that the departmental store is nearby, so I could get a change of footwear. It'll be amazing if the dresscode clause can be included in the sms reminder too.

Lovely atmosphere , nice staff, nice food. Their “signature Hokkien mee” wasn’t very good. Their Potato mousseline was very good Broccoli and asparagus wasn’t so Salmon was a little too salty but very tasty

Came for the vegan high tea and it didn't meet my expectations at all. The price - quality relation does not match at all, the food was very average and not special. For a 5 star hotel and the price they ask for I expect fine dining... Also it was quite noisy in the lobby lounge and the cabinet next to us was super dusty what I find a bit uncharming for such a place.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience at the Lobby Lounge. The service was impeccable from beginning to end! The staff were incredibly attentive and helped us with preparing & serving the gelato, which you typically take yourself. They also offered to help us take pictures and checked in on how we liked the food. We were able to stay for 3 hours, beyond the 2h afternoon tea slot. We ordered both the whimsical (classic) and vegan sets. There are components of each set we enjoyed more than others, so here is our honest review: - For the whimsical set, the chilli crab stood out among the savouries. We found it quite spicy but so delicious! Might be quite strong for those who don't typically take spice. The others were fine but nothing extraordinary. All of the desserts were quite chio and pretty good tasting as well - our personal favourites were the Cheshire (interestingly tasted like perfume) and the Ace of Hearts. - For the vegan set, the curry puff with chutney was fantastic! We think that the nuggets and fishless fingers were from Quorn - which tastes nice, but we did not expect pre-made items. The veggie bao was quite ordinary, we have had better ones at kopitiams. Among the vegan desserts, we enjoyed the caramel banana tart most. It's not out of the world but was very yummy. Unfortunately, the taste of the other desserts were subpar; we seldom eat vegan desserts so the lack of dairy and eggs could have contributed to this, plus the madeleine was quite dense and we aren't fans of mint - hence our reaction to the vegan sweet treats. - There's free flow gelato and sorbet as part of the afternoon tea, and we tried the chocolate and cookie dough gelato which were fantastic! Wanted to try more but was too full. - For drinks, we got earl grey tea (which comes in a beautiful large pot and special sugar crystal stick) and iced latte (which we added caramel sauce from the classic scone too). Lovers of caramel macchiato or have a sweet tooth may appreciate this modification. Despite our mixed feelings about the food, we are still giving 5 stars because of the excellent service, ambience, and presentation. The food is largely ordinary in terms of taste, with a few hits and misses, but we still enjoyed it regardless. We give our sincere thanks and compliments to the staff working at Lobby Lounge!

Would consider one of the less satisfactory high teas I’ve tried. Chicken fingers? Why would they serve frozen food. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed was the bakgwa tasting scone. Everything else was a pass. Also, feel that at least 2 drinks could be served. The coffee was too small.

Service we received from Hayden was exceptional. He was pleasant, professional, attentive and knowledgeable. The vegan food served during the afternoon tea was surprisingly good but could be better if they offered more savory food items. My colleague enjoyed the non-vegan food as well.

The environment is really nice and relaxing. However the service can be improved. I come here quite often but most of the times, I have to initiate orders as they seldom comes to you even you are seated for more than 15 mins. Probably understaffed? Also DON'T TRY the Crispy Roast Duck Spring Roll. Is oily and the duck only makes up about 5 to 10% of the total content and the taste is only alright. So much for chef recommendation. Not value for money. Their teas are good tho.

Went there for a meetup a while ago and ordered a ice mocha. The new malay barista obviously do not know what a mocha is and served me milk coffee with a chocolate piece on the side. The chocolate is supposed to be mixed in when served. Anyway service is good.

Ambience was great due to the colonial interior design, but price was high for what we got. Afternoon tea: $78 for 2 people for 3 tiers of pastries that weren't replenishable. 2 drinks were given per person and unlimited scones. However, I still prefer the afternoon tea at Lobby Lounge of Marriott Hotel

The service was terrible where we were kept waiting very long for a table despite making a reservation. The drinks and food took very long to serve. The food was also very mediocre where the desserts were very sweet and the savoury food was so so. Would not recommend at all especially given the high price.

Can't seem to post if I rate a star Hence force to give 5 stars here. If ask me to rate. I would not even give any star.totally not worth This will be my first and last time having high-tea at here. Reasons being other hotels served much better food and gave us much better services. Totally agreed with others on the non-existent service! Except for Meghana for her excellent services in assisting us and even shared with us that the scones and ice-cream are free flow. The male staff that handed over the menu to us did not even bother to explain and just walked away! It would more appropriate to at least explain to us what is on the menu and what kind of drinks are we entitled to for ordering the high tea since there are different sets. We ordered the Vegan high tea (since not many hotels offered vegan high tea) but it was a disappointment. We waited at least 15mins for our high tea set. Yup, 15mins! I wonder what took them so long! We are not the only guests that keep raising our hands up. They only have 3 staff working but most of the time only seen a staff walking around. The taste of the food is really bad: / out of the 10items I only like the scones and meat-free barbecue bun. The top tier dessert really really cannot make it! We keep drinking to clear the taste and when our water has finished we can’t find the staff to help us refill. Lastly, the sparkling tea is really weird. PS: Dear fellow reviewers, please share with me where can i have a good vegan high tea!

I’ve walked into InterContinental Singapore countless times but have never realised that there is an Afternoon Tea session at its lobby. With a beautiful and open concept setting, I checked out The Lobby Lounge for its new Spring-inspired Heritage Afternoon Tea: Au Jardin recently. I like the high ceiling of The Lobby Lounge, the plush and comfy sofa as well as the soothing ambience from the melodious live pianist performance.

Lovely place for afternoon tea! Most of the savoury items were great, one or two were a miss. The sweets were delicious, not overly sweet and had unique flavour combinations. You get a choice of two drinks here and free flow small portions of crepes and ice cream!

  • 4/5 Isabella L. 5 years ago on Google
We had afternoon tea here. (Secret garden set. Menu can be downloaded from their website). Called to make a reservation and they arranged the seating appropriately. I loved every savoury but not being a fan of the sweets, I didn't finish them. The best sweet was the passion fruit and chocolate. Savouries were well paired and portion was adequate. It doesn't look much but we were very full. They only had vanilla and green tea ice cream and crepes are served in extremely dainty portions. The crepes were better than the ice creams. Service was good..at least two out of the three female servers were friendly and made us feel welcome. Not the third one unfortunately. We had a discount using a member card. Great ambience with the high ceilings and live piano performance.

Amazing! The stand out feature of this lovely hotel, delivering such a lovely vibe and style, with fantastic service. Like any hotel lobby bar does drinks, snacks and food, but what sets it well above the rest is the environment which is stylish and relaxing at the same time. They also do an afternoon high tea which is pretty special. Well worth a visit whether you are staying here or in the area.

Lovely high tea set with great service The flavour combinations of the savoury spread were awesome, and we really enjoyed every dish! The tea pairings were a good choice without being overpowering. Although the missed out on dietary restriction, staff quickly exchanged the dish for us. Will definitely recommend to friends and visit again ☺️
