The star of this quite unknown coffeeshop in Kim Keat Palm, Toa Payoh , is a seasoned char kuay teow chef. He fries each plate individually so that there is sufficient heat to generate the smokiness of wok hey. With ckt, it is all about timing too. Adding the egg after the noodle medley has absorbed the aromatics and is slick and separate with just a light coat of fragrant oil. Then incorporating all the other ingredients with deft movements into mouthfuls of sheer pleasure. Worth every calorie .

Tried this tzechar stall given the rave by the neighbours. Adding all the reviews here for ease of reference: Chicken cube fried rice - 3.5 stars, decent amount of chicken cubes, flavour was also okay, but it was a tad too oily.. 香港面 - 3.5 stars, purely noodles, flavour was okay, but too oily as well.. Will continue to add to the reviews once I try out more of their offering.

Hidden gem beside the Shuanglin Temple. Love their tze char stall's yam ring and claypot fish head. And their fried chicken is always super crispy and juicy. Food is prized reasonably and I'm always surprised but how the place is not crowded despite the good tze char food.

Came specially after reading a 2021 CNA article on the fried oyster omelette stall owned by Uncle Liang but found that the store is no longer there. Very quiet neighborhood, barely anyone in the kopitiam in the evening. Bought fried hor fun and fried mee suah from the tze char stall instead. Good value, big portion. Great taste with sufficient wok hey.

Standard of food dropped tremendously. From favorite 3 times a week to never again.
