1 time trying despite in my list for long time already. The way the uncle communicated with those queuing in front of me, many were regular. I have said the broth is very yummy. Added fish roe (+$1.50) to the ee mian. At first, i find the roe were little, but realised they also added chicken egg to it too. So i think $1.50 ok la hor. The broth for Slice fish mee sua and fried fish ee mian tasted slight different and i like ee mian one more. However, i prefer the sliced fish over fried. Hahaa contradicting Will probably order sliced fish ee mian next time.

Finally tried Thai Seng Fish Soup at Ubi, and I think this is now my favourite. Fish slices are fresh, generous amount of fish and veggies, perfect amount of milk, and even their fried egg was so nice! Loved their chilli as well - spicy but with nice amount of refreshing sourness. We went on Monday around 12pm, but the wait was not too bad. We've probably waited for about 30min. Probably the only downside of this place is they only accept cash. If they accept digital payment, that would've been amazing.

Many many ingredients. Ordered medium size. Very generous, eat until happy. Taste is above average. The included fried egg is also very good. Note: Shop officially opens at 10am. But starts to accept orders before that. So people in the queue, have to wait till pre-orders are cleared.

I'm not a fish person but this fish soup makes me wants to come back for more. Added prawn ball which is a must have as the prawn meat is so tender and every bite can feel the fish roll in it. The soup is so flavourful with lots of vegetables which I like as well as the fry egg which you can add extra for it. I do recommend this place and queuing time can be 30mins to an hour or more, take note.

The first time I tried their fish soup should be around 10 years ago and I fell in love for it. Whenever I think of fish soup, this is the place in mind. Their slice fish is fresh, firm yet has the bouncy bites. Just notice this time that name has a slight changed from Tai Seng Fish Soup to Thai Seng Fish Soup. After doing some search online, I think it’s maybe there is another Tai Seng Fish Soup stall located at Yung Sheng Road, which doesn’t seem to be related. If you want to try this, search for Thai Seng Fish Soup located at Ubi Road, not Tai Seng Fish Soup at Yung Sheng Road. Eaten at this stall many times but it is the first time eating at their new location. When we arrived at about 11.20 am, there was already a queue of 7 persons but the queue moved quickly. Ordered the large sliced fish soup for $7.50. The soup looked slightly different from previous. Upon tasting it, it was very different. Also the fish is now sliced more thinly and the quality is not as good. The quantity is also much fewer pieces. The only saving grace is that there is still plenty of vegetables in the soup. Overall, my wife was very disappointed with the food.

Sliced fish bee hoon soup ($6.50 for medium) - Fresh fish slices, cooked just right. The fried egg and cilantro on top went well with the dish. The soup had depth of flavour. It was a 20 minutes wait at lunchtime.

This is probably one of the best fish soup in the East. Perpetual long queue does not put off the regulars of this place and rightly so. The fish slices are fresh and tender, and the soup is generously filled with vegetables as well. The broth is oozing with goodness and I always finish till last drop. Best time to come is around 11am from my experience.

Go early for lunch as the queue is really long. We ordered the double fish soup bee hoon that comes with both fried fish and sliced fish. You can add on fried egg. I like that the soup comes with many cabbages. The fried fish was ok. The sliced fish was really tender and good and I'd highly recommend getting the sliced fish soup. The chilli sauce was spicy and went well with the dish.

Went a tad after 10am and thought I was #2 in queue. Heh heh. But no, there were more than 10 people before me, who queued before the shop opened?! Took me close to an hour to get my large fried fish soup. While waiting, I realised that they have a lot of regulars, many with complex orders of fish parts — it felt like they have achieved cult status! So I was truly looking forward. But alas, I was disappointed. Yes, my bowl had a chock-full of ingredients; Chinese cabbage, fried egg, tofu, and of course, fried fish, cut thick, somewhat flavourful. But the soup, hmmm… I thought it lacked depth. It was “cheng” and that’s how many may like it. Or have I forgotten what good fish soup should taste like? But simply comparing queue time vs satisfaction, it wasn’t worth it — for me. But go try if you haven’t, and judge for yourself. It is the best, apparently.

One of my favorite fish soup in Singapore. Although the portion is smaller but the soup and chili still the best.

Never a day without queue. IMHO, the sliced fish is better than the fried fish. And the fried egg is a must add on. Visit at least once every week! Food quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere of the coffee shop: 1/5 (very very hot) the fan + the canvas roof = oven Avoid buying drink from the stall, the altitude is very very poor.

Very good bowl of fish soup with abundant ingredients. The soup stock was of quality. Queue starts forming even before the opening time and be prepared to wait. But the wait was worth it.

It was very good but not the best. The soup was the winner flavorful and pure. Fish was very fresh. What caused the one star was the fish was sliced too thin to savor its flavor and texture. It dissolved almost immediately. The owner couples was very nice and friendly. I will come back if within the vicinity and no more that 15min queue.

Never had any reason to visit Ubi till now. This place doesn’t really need another review, the fish beehoon soup they serve up is Just. That. Good. Everything that is positive has been covered by those before. About the Q, well it really is inevitable. The thing is Auntie and Uncle is cooking and serving each bowl as fast as they humanly can without sacrificing the quality, so just give some love and savour every morsel and drop of broth.

15-20mins wait even after 2pm. Pity they were out of fried fish head by then so I got the mixed fish soup. Soup was tasty and the fish was fresh. Pretty generous with the veggies. Coming from the west, I still think that the Holland V XO fish head beehon is slightly better in terms of taste but this is a good option when around the area. Highlight was definitely the very friendly uncle chatting with you while you wait for your order.

Food was good. Definitely worth the try and wait. We waited for about 30mins on a Saturday at about 1pm. The fish were sliced thickly and the soup was flavourful. Don't forget to pair it with their special chili. But be wary as the chili is super spicy.

Be ready for 1hr Q. Yes the fish and soup is really good. Generous amount of vegetables and remember to add extra fried eggs.

The queue was as "legend" said, already formed when I reached at 10:15am and had to wait for around 25 minutes. I would think 10:30-11:00 is probably the optimal time to visit. Ordered the dual-fishes soup. The sliced fish was indeed the star. It seemed slightly marinated which did not hide its freshness. It was smooth and tender. Comparing its compatibility with the two types of chilli, I would think the sliced fish went better with the chilli sauce. The chilli sauce's bright colour was the obvious hint of its spiciness but not over-bearing. The fried fish had the obvious egg taste and meatier. However, it tasted drier in comparison to the sliced fish. The soup itself was rich yet clear. However, I would think it is not extremely exceptional to warrant the long queue. The fried egg that was part of the soup gave the added dimension of texture despite being soaked in the soup, though I wouldn't think it to be as spectacular as what I read in other reviews. The soup also came with the normal egg to be lightly cooked purely by the hot soup. Overall, I would recommend to order just the sliced fish soup if the queue is short or maybe no longer than 15 minutes.

Visit this store every Saturday,it's worth the wait in line. The fish and other seafood are always fresh. My favorite is the tomyam seafood,it's flavorful and delicious. Support local food and don't miss their fish soup – a must-try!

Are their sliced fish soup with Ee mian. The batang Fish is super fresh and soft. The overall experience is great. No need to use the media to hype what collagen fish soup as seen in the stall in Toa Payoh

Very warm lol. But very wholesome and delicious value for money fish soup. Would return. Queued for about 40minutes

A must order for fish aficionados is the deep fried fish head soup. It is not overly fried like other stalls, thus retaining the fresh firm yet tenderness of lightly seared fish meat.

  • 4/5 Dd T. 8 months ago on Google
Food is worth a try. Ordered the large fish soup with extra egg. While the amount of fish was just acceptable, as with other reviews they were really generous with the amount of egg and vegetables. The broth is also rich and milky without having evaporated milk added, and it's not your usual run off the mill fish soup with tomatoes and salted veg. This only had Chinese cabbage, fried egg, tofu and lots of garnish, which makes the broth even more amazing. Blended chili was spicy and had kick to it! Avoid coming during peak hours, the wait was about an hour during lunch. Coffeeshop has a lot of seats but is old and can get very hot and crowded being smack in the middle of an industrial estate.

Hands down the best fish soup I've had in Singapore. The store opens only for a short period of time so better come early if you want to avoid the queue which usually takes 40 mins to an hour. The soup is extremely flavourful and the fish is super fresh. The Chinese cabbage used is extremely sweet and delicious as well. I honestly can't fault any part of this fish soup because it really is one of the most perfect fish soups I've had.

Fish is very fresh and fried egg is delicious!! The soup is also light tasting but still extremely flavourful. This is one of the best fish soups in Singapore and I have tried quite a lot of fish soups!

Fresh fish, flavourful soup that is not full of msg and lots of vegetables given. Definitely worth buying the medium or large bowl. Come before 11am to avoid long queues. Come at 11 to 12 and be prepared to wait for more than 30 mins.

Soup is good. Fish is pretty fresh. Ordered double fish, good but the fried fish only 2 pieces. A lot of vegetables, very good

Nice fish broth. Not milky nor overly salty. And not fishy at all - from start to finish. Ordered the medium size fish slice that comes with a lot of cabbage & pieces of tofu for $6.50 & $0.70 for small bowl compact rice. A repeat? Yes 👍🏼

Had high expectations from the good reviews but personally, it's just very normal. Fried fish is very dried and felt like eating fish skins & flour instead of fish meat. The flour taste is very strong too. Will recc sliced fish if you really want to try. $5.50 for the smallest bowl but the portion of the noodles is pretty big. The chilli is good. So far, Yishun's Yu Kia at Aposh bizhub is nicest.

One of the best fish soup I’ve had! This stall always got queue, but it’s worth it. Price is considered cheap for the taste, portion, the amount of sliced fish and veggies you get. My favorite is sliced fish meesua without milk, then put in both the orange color chili and sliced chili padies with soy sauce. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Daniel T. 2 years ago on Google
Only complain is the queue is too long. The fish soup is really nice, remember to add the fried egg to perfect it. Good bowl of fish soup if you happen to be nearby

My go-to fish soup. Fresh delicious slices. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful soup with just a dash of milk. Yummy. I take mine without vegetables but they are very sweet and nice. Loads for those who love it The prawn balls are always an add on. Worth the $1.50 for 2 pieces
